From check in to check out, everyone was great. It was dated, but don’t let that make your decision. The room has everything that you need, even a full working kitchen. They have a little shop where you can buy snacks. It’s a pet friendly hotel, so if you don’t like pets…..❤️

I always enjoy staying here when I come to New York.

Free breakfast

Bed was comfortable but there were no outlets next to the bed-An medical issue if you use a CPAP. Also no clock in room. Some of the lamps didn’t work. Garbage pail in kitchen area was too large for cabinet making the cabinet door stick out. Strong shower but had to remove drain cover so water would drain.

The staff is excellent, however the hotel was undergoing renovations. Noise from work being done for long periods. The sofa bed was thin and required several blankets to soften and add support to the bed. Once open the sofa bed took up a lot of room limiting access to parts of the room making it impossible to leave open during the day. Parking was limited at times due to near full capacity. Airport noise was not noticeable in odd numbered rooms that faced West. Those even numbered rooms facing East and the Airport got a lot of jet noise especially in the early morning hours. The new laminated floor replaced carpeting and was cold and slippery, but easier for housekeeping to clean. Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold offerings and various drinks and fruits. The staff really responds to any requests and keeps the place clean and maintained. WiFi had to be reentered if you left the premises and returned. Also limited channels selection. Rooms were fairly well soundproofed but hotel over all is quiet. Have wide variety of items to give out or borrow to make the stay easier. Room rates varied and at times some were pricey. Found the Queen bed and bedding to be very good but the renovated rooms were very Spartan with no pictures on the walls.

Good location, room was clean, we used the gym across the way at the Marriot courtyard, it was complimentary, a little bigger and more equipment. The property was nice and decorated for the holidays.

The staff was really friendly and proessionsl. When a situatiln arose with my chechout, they were prompt and efficient, with immediate results.

The property was situated in a great location for our needs. The breakfast had a variety of options and were well prepared. The ice water with lemon in the lobby was a welcome touch. The hotel is a bit tired looking and the bathroom needed a deep cleaning. The hallways had a good deal of activity and were noisy with children running and other guests being loud. Based on all this, it was a decent value.

Was by the elevator so a lot of room noise from elevator mechnical use. Lighting not super bright

Breakfast was not really good. Staff too slow....poor choices for Breakfast. It didn't look like a Marriott. Rest was cleaned.

The property is decent, just getting worn out. Floors are showing wear inside and outside of rooms. The shower ran slowly as did the toilet at times. It did serve it's purpose, just not as nice as the usual Marriott experience.

Great front desk customer service. Room ok. Way too noisy. You can hear the next door upstairs people thumping screaming. Kids hanging outside the parking lot. Room very outdated. I don’t think ill come back. Especially the price we paid wasn’t worth it.

Room was large but bed was too soft, very poor for posture. Didn't like the accessible shower. Breakfast was good. Very noisy in corridor outside the room.

Front desk check-in people are helpful. Complimentary breakfast is convenient and good.

Great location but renovations are having an impa

Staff was exceptional however, the hotel is undergoing a complete makeover. 25% of the room are not available. The room had several issues (door, lights bedding, etc) they were handled by the staff quickly and done well. Breakfast is a plus with good variety and the location is very near shopping and main roads. The room was clean, quiet and the well equipped kitchen was also a plus, especially for longer stays. Rates are higher than expected in view of the renovations. Once it is back to full operation I would give it a 4 star rating.

Great staff, great location and great shopping. Dated but now ging into full renovation as of 9/9. Great pet hotel and breakfast is excellent with a variety of delicious selections.

Best staff to deal with, which handles problems that arise. The hotel is dated but is now starting a full renovation one floor at a time. Sofa bed is soft and not as comfortable as some. That said enjoyed the stay and the location is excellent and despite being next to the small airport is very quiet as well.

Jones Beach concert trip

We had a great stay! Room was comfortable and quiet. Sat outside on the patio with my family in the evening and had a great time.

Staff was very friendly and helpful

The majority of guests staying at this property appeared to be placed there by the state. Many woman and young children that clearly were not on a vacation or work trip. This is their home. Which is excellent for them, but for a traveling businesswoman it was uncomfortable and the surrounding area was not safe The room had an extremely horrible smell of mold as the rug under the air conditioner was soaking wet. I would not return to this Marriot property in the future. I think its wonderful to house the homeless, however it should be told to the guests checking in prior.

Multi Night Stay While Visiting Relatives

We stayed for 5 nights while visiting family locally. Room was ok except mattress was a little soft and the toilet seat was loose and missing a cover over the nut. Breakfast was pretty good with both hot and cold selections. It was convenient to restaurants, stores and highways.

Service and location were very well received.

Too small for the price, floor tile worn and separated in the hallway. Stains on bed linen, small ironing board, and lights not working in the room.

Marriott ?? Stay

Paid a lot of money for 2 nights. Thought we were staying at Marriott but was placed at Townplace Suites. Something on the second floor smelled real bad but room was fine. Looked at my credit card and got charged $40 not sure for what there was no additional service. Now I have to chase that down.

Weight room lacking weights—-liked the location

The property was very nice but it said there was a pull out couch. When we opened the couch it did have a mattress but as soon as you sat on it the mattress went completely flat. Other than that the staff was very nice and the room worked well.

Quiet & good price

The staff were friendly. The sheets had a bit of a chlorine smell and they had a stain. They use an update. Even being close to a small airport, we found it quiet which was nice. The room had a kitchenette which was also nice. The price was good and area around it seemed very safe and clean.

I was a bit sketched out by the night time activites going on with other guests at the hotel. There were big families traveling together with older children who were out of control. At midnight yelling and screaming in their rooms and pranking others in the middle of the night. Knocking on other peoples rooms. Completely rude and the parents were drunk and could care less. Not really happy with my experience as far as that. However the hotel room itself was nice for my family weekend getaway. Plenty of space for my kids. The staff was really friendly. My issue was with the hotel guests who were out of control during my stay.

This girl is dated, the tub in my room don’t drain, the toilet don’t flush, the TV is from the 90,s, everything is old, towels are dingy, really bad quality for marriot, needs a full Reno and update

Everyone that checked us in and out was extremely nice and welcoming

Everything about the property is rundown, worn out, cheesy. My room had a heating system that sounded like a car engine and holes in the wall. Several days after I checked out was an additional $20 charge on my credit card without explanation. Take away that one star that I gave them if you don’t like having rooms right next to a parking area for corporate jets and small airplanes revving outside your window.

Had a great stay. We we're just in the area visiting family so we checked in late and out fairly early. Didn't see much of the place but the woman who checked us in was incredibly helpful and friendly. The hall ways seemed a little run down but the room itself was in pretty good shape. The fact that we had a kitchen for the price we paid would have been very nice if we needed it. Bed was very comfortable. Pillows could be better. Overall very happy for the price and the service was excellent.

They need to fix and/or update this hotel.

The staff is friendly but the tv didn’t work on all channels and wasn’t fixed over the 6 days stay. The breakfast promised was unavailable in its entirety for the hours promised- example the staff is allowed to put out only 10 bagels a day no matter home many guests are there. So get there at 6 am or forget bagels. Other items were available including juices, coffee, tea, eggs and bacon. Hot water is not available for enough time to wash hair and condition, it get cold. Maybe it’s in a timer.

One of my favorite places to stay.

I was in a 2 bedroom suite(upgrade) due to my suite wasn’t ready when I got there. Spacious, clean, bed comfortable, just a tad bit squeaky.

Fine aside from the loud heaters!

Our stay for one night was good except that the heaters were VERY loud. We had to just turn them off despite it being 15 degrees out bc we couldn't sleep, as they kept turning on and off. Breakfast was good with several options for our family.

It was very clean and great place, my room didn’t have any trash can in the room or bathroom hence it’s received 4 stars and not 5.

Hotel is located close to many restaurants and lots of great shopping. The staff were very kind and professional. The property was a little dated and needed an updated mattress in the sofa bed, fresh pillows that don’t flatten, and a newer bathroom. But breakfast was okay and overall, our stay was fine. I don’t think it was worth what we paid, but we needed to suite. If I had another choice, I would not stay here again despite the great staff.

Good location, good amenities in the area very convenient. Some of the hotel rooms have a strange smell. I had to change rooms. Overall the hotel looks dingy and tired and not well kept. The bedding was the only good thing.

Happy with this hotel for an extended stay.

My stay was fine, the room comfortable and well arranged. My only criticism is that the finishes are a bit worn. Small tears and frays in the draperies, paint damage and worn on bathroom cabinets, older finishes overall. Time to refresh!

AWFUL - do NOT stay here

Room was filthy. Desk folks didn’t care. Someone came in to clean, took pictures. Did not apologize. A ‘coupon’ for breakfast was offered, when breakfast was ALREADY INCLUDED. Bedside lamps flickered, no offer to fix or attend to.

If you’re expecting a Marriott you will be greatly disappointed. This property is filthy and unkept. Our front door didn’t close, there was pee on the pull out bed, there were dead bigs on the sills, there was something running down the kitchen walls, we had no soap… and this was just our room. The whole property needed cleaning and maintenance. We went down for breakfast at 9 am and there was nothing there. When we asked the receptionist she just said thank you but did nothing about it. It was definitely not Marriott standards by any means and for what they charge for a room cleanliness shouldn’t even be a question.

I liked the fact that they have multiple washers and dryers

The first room I arrived in looked dirty and the TV didnt work either. The next room I was moved to had an ant problem and the maid left the acid cleaning solution on the bathroom counter with what looked like some of the spray on our toothbrushes,etc. At random one day the fire alarm went off through the entire place with blaring sirens. Breakfast was decent but i woukdnt stay there ever again unless they provided some kind of voucher.

Way over priced

Toilet ran most of the time. Stained couch, kinda smelled like urine in the stairway. Water pressure in shower was non existent and the water was always Luke warm. Overall, I would not stay here again with my family as it is way over priced and was a last resort option. Also the dishwasher only opened 3/4 of the way and the curtains wouldn’t close all the way or weren’t big enough to actually cover the window.

One bed was much higher than the other-lower would be better. Woodwork could use some cleaning or painting. Maid service was minimal

Very friendly and helpful staff

Breakfast was absolutely terrible so my chances of staying at TownPlace Suites by Marriott will definitely never happen again. Accommodation was clean and all employees were professional.

My trip to New York was a last minute unexpected one. My father and I were exhausted after a very long day, driving all night from Canada and then spending the day visiting my uncle who was admitted to the hospital. We were tired to say the least. From the time I checked in until midnight there was a dog constantly barking. It was annoying, at first, but I did not think it was a big deal because it was still early (about 8 pm) and we were not yet going to sleep. I mentioned the barking to front desk 3 times. The barking continued for 4 hours straight. I was later told it is a service dog. Unbelievable. Around 11:30 pm I asked for another room and was told the hotel was fully booked for the night. I requested another room for the next night, if the dog is staying, as well. The front desk attendant said that should not be a problem but I was afraid my father and I would not be able to sleep that night. Around midnight the front desk attendant called and said a room became available. I packed my father's items and wheeled him down the hall. The move was much quieter but what an awful night.

Hotel was in a great location close to many dining options and many things to do like adventureland and the movies i love the niceness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel and the hallways smelled nice too.

The area was quiet and parking easy. The beds were not great lumpy and blankets stained. The bath tub had hair in it. I had to buy my own products to clean the tub and the couch had white stains on it, not sure what took place and never wiped after us. I had to spray and sanitize the area on the couch. The tables could have been changed especially when engraved on the table N ->

It was very convenient for us visiting with other family members and the rooms were kept clean and service was great

Very nice and courteous staff, they let us check in early and i really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and coffee.

Every time my family and I went for breakfast, the Spanish lady kept following us. First of all, there wasn't enough of a selection and the food was terrible. Second of all, there wasn't a reason why she felt the need to be behind a person. She was not approachable nor did you feel as if you can ask her any questions. The ladies at the front desk were awesome.

Nice hotel

An all around awful experience. I have always used Marriott and never had a problem any of their properties, that is until I stayed here. When I arrived, I was not greeted. I stood there for several minutes waiting to get checked in. I was simply handed a keycard, wasn’t even told what room I was in. I had to look at the key card to figure out where my room was. Was never told how to find my room, where the elevators were, what the amenities if any were, no Mention of the hours for breakfast, nothing on how to get the wifi, etc. It was very apparent the staff were more interested in their own conversation than giving an ounce of attention to a paying customer. As I made way looking for the elevator, I passed a staff only room where I heard a lot of yelling and banging. I do not know what was going on in there, but clearly a staff member was having a bad day and felt the need to let everyone else in the hotel know. The room was fine. My only real complaint is how thin the floors are. Whoever was upstairs above me sounded like they were stomping and banging nonstop. I was pondering calling the police because the noise was so loud, it sounded like a fight was going on upstairs. When I left, I again was not greeted. No thank you for my stay or hope I had a nice stay etc. just took my room keys and that was it. I actually had to ask if I was done here/could leave. This is without a doubt, the worst Marriott I have ever been to. The GM should be embarrassed.

Easy check in. Clean rooms with dishes, silverware included. The fridge is spotless. Not a bad spot at all.

The carpet is old,needs replacing,room phone out of order and syringe 💉 was left on a table. That slides underneath the desk.poor housekeeping, the suite doors filthy with hand prints,this hotel is falling off in quality.

Can’t say enough!!!! I have 2 dogs so my room wasn’t cleaned by room service but no matter what I asked for…towel, garbage bags, sheets…there within20 minutes! There is a small dog run. Nothing fancy but it was being revamped. Free coffee all day and free breakfast daily. Front desk staff was amazing no matter if it was 5am or 10pm. Fantastic stay

Not worth the money. Too expensive for what it is. Poor quality and nasty breakfast burritos.

Disappointment

When we arrived at 4pm the room was not ready - we had to leave the hotel and wait for another hour and a half before we were able to check in. That was an unpleasant experience after a long drive to have wait more hours when it was stated checkin for the suite was at 3pm. Two TVs did not function, there was significant damage to the carpet. I don’t have anything positive
