The safe were very hospitable and the beach was beautiful
The ocean views are amazing. The Grotto spa is a relaxing way to spend time with friends at the resort. My esthetician was excellent.
Beautiful scenery. Loved the fact that we could sit on our balcony and overlook the ocean.
We paid extra for an ocean view and we got ground level obstructed by trees and bushes. The ocean view was the purpose for the trip.
Parking at Oceanview Suites was not well done. Need better marking of parking spaces. Also need to pave are or fill potholes.
Have been coming here for 20 years on our wedding anniversary. Great service
The price is not matched with what they provide as a hotel
We stay here often for a reason! It’s awesome.
The grotto spa, late night pizza and jetted tub made our kid free date night a 11/10! We will be back.
It was lovely! We will be back :)
Peaceful stay
A quiet, tranquil forest get away with sandy beach just 5 minutes away. Beautiful spa, and nice people.
Check-in was easy and the staff were polite. Parking was a nightmare. We stayed in one of the spa bungalows. There are 4 bungalows to a building and 4 buildings shared our tiny gravel lot. Trying to find a spot to bring in luggage was difficult and even coming back late at night, you were lucky to get a spot. The room was clean but the walls were paper thin. You could hear every conversation on either side at all times. The spa was within walking distance but given the muddy/gravel road, you had to wear regular shoes to get there. The spa was gorgeous and the service was amazing. The spa was, in my opinion, the only reason the stay was worth the price. However, you do not need to stay on the property to visit the spa. The tapas dining was a fun and unique experience. We also dined at Cedars. The food was good and service was fine for how busy they were. Check-out was a bit of nightmare and it was partially due to Expedia (we booked our trip 3rd party). Expedia discloses on their receipt "Final payment will be settled in local currency directly with the property." Whenever we visit Canada, we always pay a deposit in US dollars and then it is converted into CAD at check out. This often results in a credit to go towards final bill. When I asked for the room bill, I was told I was not allowed to have it. It was "confidential" and they would bill Expedia directly. This felt shady to me. I wanted to know what the rate we paid was. Neither Expedia nor the resort would tell us.
Temperature control-cold. No paper towels or napkins
Very peaceful
Lovely!
Such a lovely Bungalow! Private, clean, romantic
We had a great experience at this resort and will be returning.
The resort is nice enough but outdated smoking laws, food at the main restaurant just doesn’t cut it and there’s no Expedia gold member upgrades or anything
Paying for the Name
The room felt dormitory with hand me down furniture. For how much it costs I don’t recommend. Paying for the name.
We booked the end of the year at this resort because the dinner and brunch packages were well advertised and we wanted something special to celebrate our anniversary. The resort was fairly busy but we enjoyed our room which was well appointed and very cozy. The dinner was excellent and made for a special evening. However, the bottomless brunch buffet was a cringe. Serving a buffet one bite at a time on tiny plates defies the rules of a traditional buffet. So I believe the advertised package was quite misleading for anyone who planned their food options step by step. And embarrassing in the same time as we had to struggle with the orders every second bite. My husband literally had 4 pieces of bacon and a poached egg for $80.00 and then the server charged us for the latte just because there was no coffee station and we believed coffee would be included in the menu. Latte or not! The thing is, we didn’t mind the price of the package at all, but we didn’t really experienced all the selections because we got fed up of studying the menu while we were trying to enjoy the breakfast. In the end, we had a good time there and we will definitely come back, but next time I’ll ask more questions ahead of time.
Our stay was amazing!
For the cost… go elsewhere
We could hear our neighbours low volume tv through the walls. Along with that, areas around the toilet didn’t look well cleaned. My biggest complaint about the hotel is the spa. When booking, I wasn’t told there was an auto gratuity on EACH service per person. At the end of our spa visit, we had over $100 in auto grats in addition to the tips we gave our servers, as we weren’t aware we were already being charged.
Best Spa
The staff was excellent. The kitchen lacked nothing. I loved that there was real creamers, not that powder stuff, for excellent coffee in the morning. It is a very walkable beach. The gift shop is full of local made items. It is a great retreat.
Great spa getaway for me and my sister
Other than semi-limited parking, the one night stay here was great. I had to leave my room to go to the front desk for assistance then again to pick up my food and I lost my spot both times. I ended up having to park by the next building over. The front desk staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. The pizza from the restaurant was great. Fantastic room and beautiful view of the ocean. The only other small thing is I think the coffee maker was fried so I did a make shift pour over method.
We loved the location! Also our accommodations were lovely. We also truly enjoyed the Grotto Spa and the Treetops dining experience. Very memorable!
Not impressed not disappointed
Rooms are extremely dated and not worth the high star rating. Spa is the highlight forsure rooms are very lacking. Did love the new communication via text when rooms are ready.
Lovely view and peaceful location
Beautiful forested grounds and outstanding beach. So much sand at low tide!
Food at restaurant was very good. Need more packets of medium roast coffee in kitchen.
Bungalow spa suites are overdue for new mattresses .
Such an amazing log cabin style place. You can walk down to the beach and their are bbqs available to use and laundry. I will definitely stay here again!
Exceeded Expectations!
The grotto is extremely overpriced and you cannot book a massage without. A $150 grotto 2 hr charge. Outrageous. Room service is not automatically done
This spa is unique, picturesque with plentiful staff that are friendly and helpful. The different types of accommodation were thoughtfully and tastefully arranged on the property. The quality of the food was first class (if pricey). The kitchenette and gas fire made the room much more comfortable. Some of the equipment in the gym could be better maintained; and it would be a bonus if the pool beside the gym had thermal water. Having bars of soap for handwashing in the room would have been helpful. And there was too much furniture in our room; moving it so we could open the Murphy bed was a challenge. And the tile floors in the room could helpfully be heated.
Checkin was quick and the host allowed us in early. Room was clean and had all amenities you would expect. Beautiful place!
The restaurant food is not up to standard
Nice Xmas
We enjoyed our stay, the morning coffee was great.
B Day Celebration
Great location and nice staff
Quiet and relaxing. Perfect for couples to get away from the kids. The spa is a bit pricey but worth it.
I missed the bath salts that were in the bathroom last time. That was a sweet way to soak. Otherwise our stay was delightful as always!
It was where I attended a conference, it was quiet and convenient. Expensive for a tired resort.
Love the area space was nice, parking could use some work.
The room was nice with a really nice soaker tub. The spa is very nice. Great romantic get away.
Beautiful location, well maintained and clean. With respect to the Grotto Spa, the spa services were really good however our schedule didn’t allow us to use the mineral pools on the first day we arrived and so we were going to use them on the second day but we were told it would cost us an additional $50 each. This is after we stayed at the resort overnight and spent over $400 per person on spa services. We were really disappointed.
When we checked in we were told that no working in house staff would be available. We entered our unit 510 and immediately found out that the closet on the right after entering was broken and part of the door could not be opened. The next thing we discovered was when we would flush our toilet the toilet bowl would not re-fil which required me to take the top off the tank and play with the parts to get the flush to re-fil. This was required every time we would flush the toilet. Next we discovered that the stopper in the sink did not have the part required to open and close the sink and we had to use two knives to open in order to brush our teeth without having the sink fill up. Then the first morning I could not use the sink to shave as the sink would again be closed and would require us to use knives to open again if we could. This did take some time to do the first time and we did not want to have the sink full of water during our stay. When I reported the above information when I checked out, the agent did say sorry but I would have thought some adjustment would have been awarded to us for our aggrivation that was experienced by us, but was not. Very doubtful that we would go to your property again. Perhaps we would attend at one of the other properties available near your property. I have checked them out. Thank you and have a great day. We saw a double rainbow on our beach stroll and had a lovely mineral bath in our room with a jetted tub, we stayed in one of the bungalows, a bit of traffic noise due to proximity to the hwy, but still lovely.
Very quaint propery; good amenities; nice room.
Comfortable, & cozy accommodations nestled amongst the trees. Staff have been awesome!
I booked a one night stay here with my family after spending a week in Tofino so we could break up the travel. It was a hidden gem. It reminded me of the place in Dirty Dancing. Cute cabins spread out, sports court, great spa, fitness centre and pool and beach access. Also the highlight was probably Cedars restaurant. I ordered the short rib and gnocchi and while we enjoyed the food in Tofino this was probably the best meal we had all week. We will definitely go back for a longer stay.
Beautiful scenery and their own beach area. Helpful staff. very clean.
Clean, friendly and quiet too. The ocean view is beautiful. Enjoyed the Grotto Spa and breakfast at Cedars Restaurant.
Great tapas
There was a lot of snow. All the roads and parking areas were plowed in the wee hours of the morning. I was impressed.
Beautifully positioned in the forest with overlook to the ocean. The beach is spectacular, the spa was serene and the room was just the right place to retreat to, fireplace and all. I would definitely stay again!
Fantastic spa, lovely rooms and staff. Food was amazing.
This is a lovely resort where we felt comfortable and cozy. Great place
Great stay!
Staff was very friendly, room was great. TV didn't work properly and kept turning off and rebooting randomly which was unfortunate but otherwise everything was lovely!
Stayed here for a pit stop with our kids. Have stayed before and was hoping to get oceanfront view and pay for ungrade, when we arrived we saw oceanfront suits were under renovation. And they had stuck us in a bungalo suit next to grotto, i didnt realize when booking that's where we would be. The bungalo suite seemed not very kid friendly, it had a murphy bed at the foot of your bed, was right beside the adult only grotto and it was extreamly far to walk to ocean. We were pretty upset and not wanting to stay. The front maganger made some.phone call.and we were able to upgrade to the cabins near the beach. Now those were much more suitable if your traveling with kids 2 bedrooms a nice cozy fireplace, super close to pool, easy walk to beach It was perfect and just what we needed originaly!! So overall our stay was great, a hickup in the begining made it an amazing stay the the night. We would come back to thise cabin suits or oceanview only And we will be more careful when booking.
Dinner at Cedars restaurant was not great for dinner, over priced for dishes but breakfast was great. Very friendly staff.
I really enjoyed the facilities especially the spa. Loved that the property was a five walk to the beach. But our room needed some updating because it resembled my parents house in the 90’s. It was clean on the upside.
Considering the cost of the room - it seemed unreasonable that check-in was not permitted until after 5:00 pm and check-out was expected by 11:00 am. Our room was advertised as "ocean view" but was actually on the ground floor and had a view of a fence. No sign of the ocean. WiFi did not work. When we informed the manager, he was argumentative and unhelpful. Most of the staff were lovely but the manager had such poor people skills that we decided not to ever return to the resort.
Awesome hotel and staff.
I organized a girls trip and this was the perfect hotel. Our rooms, environment, spa, staff (all the staff were helpful and full of smiles) and onsite Lounge was amazing. Plus the price was fantastic. All my friends were super impressed. A much need get away.
Great resort for many years, but the property is getting old and dated. No AC, so gets a bit hot at times.
This was a great place for our family with two young kids. We loved spending time in the pool.
.
Nice quiet. close to the golfing we were doing.
Quiet and interesting buildings. Pretty walks. Foundfghe living room area of our suite very cramped
Great staffs and lots of amenities! Toddler enjoyed the playground. Rooms are out dated.. and is clean but needs to be really deep cleaned.
So so
Got this bungalow style from hotel.com. But when we have arrived to the site it’s not a real bungalow house it’s more like low level apartments. And the room has a very small kitchen( or I should say it’s more like camping kitchen) place is small for 4 people to stay.
Dated but nice
Great location! Room was really dated and no cleaning service for a multiple night stay but otherwise good
Great accommodation in a beautiful setting. We would definitely return.
Liked the view and the cleanliness of the room. Room needs a serious upgrade. Large water stain on celling tile over bathtub, not appealing. Living room carpet ripped and torn in 2 places where hide a bed had been used. Hide a bed not functioning and had a couch just pushed against it. The couch was probably the worst couch I have ever encountered, extremely saggy, could barely get in and out of it, was the only couch in the room and should be sent to the dump immediately. Bathroom extremely small.
Restaurant food was basic and prices expensive.
Room could have been cleaner. No hanger on back of bathroom door.
We had a fantastic stay. The front desk even opened up the store at 11 pm for us to get snacks. Everything was fantastic. We will be back for sure.
The price for one hour in the mineral pools seemed steep (60$), but I improvised and had a mineral salt bath in our unit. We had a studio suite in the Jedidiah Lodge, no ocean views here, just forest... our tub and robes and towels were all big and comfy, front desk guy was super nice. Kitchenette was handy, TV and gas fireplace was nice too. We would stay again. Midweek/offseason deal booked on expedia
good
Excellent
Good atmosphere, lots of groups there ready to party, would love to go in the summer although there is no A Con
I completely understand the lack of staff these days but the overall service was lacking (not quality checked, forgetting us). Staff was friendly, just not well trained for high quality service (I do have a high expectation having spent years in the industry). I will say that Kari, in the dining room, on our last dinner redeemed our faith as she was excellent!!
Sharon at check-in was absolutely amazing! It was a wonderful experience.
Loved the room and the kitchenette stocked with basics. Maybe some extra care with cleaning cobwebs and tops of bottles in the shower. Overall would stay again. Beautiful resort and the restaurant is great as well if needing. The spa is amazing with the mineral pool.
My wife and I loved sitting with a cuo of coffee on our deck watching the sun come up in the morning. So peaceful and serene.
Loved the ocean-front room. Nice facility. Great pool. Loved wandering out on the low tide.
An amazing location, beautiful room and view, great amenities, accommodating, friendly and helpful staff. Just an absolutely perfect place to stay.
We stayed in a studio with kitchenette in the Jedediah section. We enjoyed our stay at this property other than the fact that our room was overly warm. There were 3 fans in the room but still this did not cool the room or us down at all. There was very little air circulation and the vaulted ceilings did not help. There is a patio screen door that you can have open for some air. I can’t even imagine how much hotter it would’ve been if I came during the heat wave. I’d visit this resort again but probably not in the summer time again.
Gorgeous property. Rustic but beautiful. Clean, very well maintained. Excellent staff across the site. Would recommend. The only thing I would change is I wish the room was air conditioned.
Nice location but over priced for what we got. Also no AC unit made sleeping very difficult at night.
I love how the property is laid out and the rooms were nice and clean and comfortable.
Beautiful ocean views. For those not familiar with the ocean in the Pacific Northwest a good pair of water shoes would be helpful when the tide is out for walking. Low Tide there is a decent walk out to the water.
Disappointed in the rooms they were run down and no AC. No one advised us of the service change at the spa.
Wonderful views, bed not super comfortable, walls paper thins, can hear your neighbors the whole time, still a great place, despite this I would still go back. Location is great!
Very nice resort. Poor service and average food at the restaurant.
Love the property just didn’t like being so way far back across a road away from the beach. The little self contained cabin was nice enough the beds comfy. Our kid enjoyed the jetted tub and it was clean. My only disappointment was the room location. Felt like it could have been a room anywhere when the magic of this place is the proximity to the ocean. If this is important to you too be sure to ask about where your room is located. We were not here long enough to enjoy much of what this place has to offer. Drove down and parked by playground to access beach. Spa looked great did not go to restaurant.
Very special location and easy beach access
Customer service was exceptional, from reception to spa to the The Treetop Tapas they have a great crew of emploees.Wonderful relaxing stay.
We liked the privacy of the forested area and the log cabins.
Very beautiful and relaxing. Enjoyed my stay
