basically a good hotel with great location to visit beijing

Clean and comfortable

Overall we had a very comfortable one-night stay at the Westin. Unfortunately the first room we were assigned to reeked of smoke (we booked non-smoking) and it took some time for the staff to assign us to a new room. Other than that, the room was extremely spacious and comfortable. Gym was also clean and well-equipped. Would recommend.

We really love this place, The hotel room is clean and the room service is above and beyond. Special Thanks to Lucas the manager, he offered to switch rooms for us without hesitation when the water temperature in our room was hard to adjust. And he provided the best service possible for us and made this trip to Beijing unforgettable. I would definitely come back and stay again at Westin Financial Street Beijing for my next visit!

I would recommend staying at this hotel whenever you have a business trip.

Room was ok, but it stank of smoke.

Rooms are clean and tidy. Wish that restaurants would close later than 9pm.

5 star hotel with 2 star amenities due to refurb

The hotel is undergoing a refurb which is not mentioned until you arrive. No discounts or apologies upon checkout so nice hotel if you want a bed only. Unfortunately not a great stay in its current condition and no discount given.

I have stayed many times at the Westin and enjoyed the location and the hotel as a whole. The problem this time is that the hotel is undergoing major renovation. The ground floor with atrium and restaurants is essentially of limits with only the breakfast area opened. Fortunately this outside BBQ/bar is still opened. Should wait a few months to see the result of the renovation.

The hotel is doing renovation and the Expedia should let me know...

Lovely stay

The hotel was amazing and the service even better! The guys organized taxi to the wall for us and got us a great deal last minute. Breakfast was a feast, the hotel clean and nice and comfortable. Perfect for a business trip

Worst 5 star hotel ever. Food is expensive but taste aweful; service is none existent. You don't get what you paid for. Room is terrible with leaky bathroom sink faucet and overall uncleanness.

Business Trip - Review

The location was very good if you are looking to meet financial firms in the area. Close to all the major banks and such and there is a shopping mall across the street. However the hotel was a little dated, it is started to show however for the location you can't really beat the price

Good for business

Check in was efficient (we spoke mandarin) Request for late checkout and change to king bed was granted without hassle. Room was spacious. Bedding comfortable. Aircon/heater easy to operate and works. Toilet has basic amenities. Wouldn’t say it’s the most modern set up but is comfortable. Buffet breakfast with ample choices, I’ll say quality is adequate. Staff encountered were courteous. Nothing much around, only a rather big mall with many restaurants to choose from. There’s also a nice supermart there.

Very central, convenient location. Difficult to communicate with staff and the gym is very small for an hotel of that standing/ at that price.

I booked for a king bed but upon arrival, i was told that the booking was made in twins bed by my agent - hotels.com. The chair peels off, tv and other facilities are old, staffs not friendly, asked the front desk to leave my colleagues a message upon their arrival but they forgot to do so. The hotel does not worth the price, will not stay here again.

Great location for my meetings

Location is very convenient, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was very good. I was very pleased and plan to stay there again. I would definitely recommend it.

Rooms are very confortable, staff is professional and helpful , breakfast buffet offers a very nice spread of western and Chinese food, with excellent bread. Excellent for business travellers

Hotel is old but comfortable.

Free room is bit small compared with charged standard room size. suggest to give same size even if it is free. hotel check in authorization credit charge is actually charged in my credit card. It should not be charged until actual service occurs. Other than all of the above, I am always very happy about Westin .

Stay was good. Not an ideal location for tourists, but good if you have business in the aria.

Good but outdated

Westin financial street is a good hotel overall and has what you need and would expect from a business hotel. But it's getting a bit outdated so I'm not convinced it's 5 star anymore, and I don't think it's worth the premium price.

clean room, good idea if working in biz district. Room service was good but rooms was not clean when i came back one day at 4pm (with a terrible headache) that was a bit of a let down

Hotel service is good but old

Had a much higher expectation considering Westin. Service is exceptional especially in-room with turn down service by placing robe on bed, free water, additional card constantly to keep room functional, etc. it is these small things that counts. But hotel is very old and not well maintained. The weighing scale is not working, one of the cabinets' door is spoilt, couch looks old and dirty, scratch marks in multiple places, etc.

Average 5 Star Hotel in Beijing

We stayed at this hotel for business. The location of the hotel is good, close to major financial firms in Beijing. The regular room where I stayed is average both for its size and for its cleaniness. Nothing really impressed me that would put this hotel at the high end of a 5 star hotel list. There was some mild odor in my room, not sure what it was. It is a non-smoking room, but I feel the odor might be from cigarettes. Overall, my experience with this hotel is ok.

Great buffet dinner

The room is nice and clean. Buffet dinner has great varieties to please your stomach. Most concierge members are nice but a few with stern face. Didn't inform me free parking for in house dinner guest. I have to park my car outside over night because the dinner guest used my quote even for 2 hour dinner. No flexibility and courtesy understanding. Other than this, other services are great.

Excellent accommodations

This was my first time in Beijing. The exceptional service at the Westin was beyond my expectations. Very attentive, friendly and helpful The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice view. It was perfectly clean; very nice bathroom. A minor point: the room lights were a $#% puzzle to figure out! ; ) Free wifi was a nice feature. My only complaint is that the restaurants (Italian and a "Western"(?) buffet) were disappointing. And so was the breakfast buffet. I still give it 5 stars as an excellent hotel and I would gladly stay there again.

Will go back again.

The bedding is not as comfortable as Hilton, and bathroom needs remodeling. In good location, and quiet for a good night rest.

A superb Westin

Superb hotel. Guest services and concierge provided superb service. Food in hotel was great and quieter location ensured for a nice relaxing time while at the hotel. Would stay again in a heartbeat!!

Regarding our 11 day stay at the Westin Beijing Financial Street in a Renewal Room (room 2019): The room was immaculate and the bathroom... beyond belief! The rain shower was pure heaven, and the high quality of Bath accessories (re-stocked everyday) was wonderful. The room had wonderful block out blinds, which allowed for some well-deserved late lie ins. The bed was truly "Heavenly" and being a consummate insomniac for many years, I had some of the best sleeping that I have had in a long time. Other reviewers have commented that the Hotel is out of the general tourist area, but Hubby and I really enjoyed this, as the area around Financial Street (Jinrong Dajie) is relatively quiet compared with the general hustle and bustle of Beijing traffic. We caught taxis everywhere, which are incredibly reasonable in Beijing, and we only found one driver who wasn't too sure of the location of the Hotel. Room service is of 5 star quality, and we enjoyed everything we ate at the Hotel. Best of all, the Hotel offers complementary wireless Internet, which was a massive plus for us. The pool and gym area were also excellent. Back at home now, after having such an amazing holiday, we think back in fondness on the fantastic stay we had in China, thanks in great part to the Westin Beijing Financial Street. Couldn't have been any better!

Beijing is great

We loved the hotel, but we had a great time and loved it, but we didnt realize it was so far from the shopping we wanted on the other side of town. But it was beautiful, new with english speaking staff. We would stay there again.
