Water in swimming pool a bit too cold, but the rest was really great. I Would definitely recommend this hotel. Really great breakfast buffet with a lot of choice.

A Pleasant Night Stay

Although the property is a bit dated, the staff and housekeeping are top notch. Keep up the good work!

Great location but rooms need refurbishment.

Location of the hotel was great with 1st Avenue shopping mall just across the road and many eateries within walking distance. But the rooms were dated with many wooden fixtures and furniture needing replacement or refurbishment. Lap pool was nice and the small gym was functional. The Sky bar and its views were great.

One of the modernized hotels in the area. Big swimming pool. The upper floor rooms are better than the lower floor rooms in my opinion. There are transportation hubs and shopping malls right across the street. Walking distance to lots of restaurants. The tallest building "The Top" is 15 minutes away by walk.

It’s just opposite a shopping mall

Great location. Easy access to eatery places and shopping centre. The hotel is located at the main road. Therefore, there is traffic noise even though the room is at level 18.

Right in the middle of everything form shopping to dinning. Famous local food vendors are just around the corner. Swimming pool is big and beautiful. Wi-Fi for work is great with no problems. Definitely the best hotel in this price range for me so far.

Very central and not bad value for money

I stayed 5 nights. The location of this hotel is good. Short walk to food street. On my check in, the staff told me to pay for the 5 nights & taxes. I told him i have paid & booked via Expedia. He said his system showed that i have not paid. I showed him the receipt but he insisted to collect the taxes from me which i paid. On the day check out another staff served me & refunded RM$50 to me because she said i have paid during booking via expedia. During check in , i told the staff do not allocate last room for me & he said room is in the middle which i am fine but when i reached the room it was the last room. I was shocked to know that their housekeeping is at 6pm. I went out and returned to the room in the afternoon & room is not clean yet so when i called the housekeeping, she didnt explain to me why the room is not clean & just say housekeeping at 6pm. The housekeeping is on alternate days, so during no cleaning day i asked to change the bathing towels & was told have to wait till evening because not enough towels to change.

Poor Window Insulation

Sound insulation of the room (no 623) is very poor and effected my sleep last 4 nights stay. The windows glass is not double glazed and thus higher noises level.

The hotel was very nice and in a central location. The room was lovely BUT I didn’t get much sleep as it was very noisy. I was in a room which had an adjoining door - no soundproofing at all with the room next door. It sounded like the family staying there were in my actual room it was so loud. If you come to stay, ask for a room without an adjoining door!

Nice staff, clean and great for the price

It's well maintained, and is close to Kamtar, George Town, 1st Avenue Shopping Mall and plenty of eateries around; and can easily access further away by Grab. I like its reasonable good size swimming pool. Buffet breakfast is a delight with plenty of selection. Room is spacious and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff, provided early check in before 3pm

Furniture begining to show wear. Safe not working. Manager/tech had to come up to room to fix safe. Friend’s room also had issues with safe. We liked that the room had many outlets to plug devices in

We have a comfortable stay at this hotel. We had a late check in so at the 1st night we did not notice that the shower head in our room broke. In the next morning, when I checked with the front desk, a staff member named Saran helped us to upgrade a larger room. He did a great help! All the hotel employees were very friendly. There were good breakfast choices and the location of the hotel is quite close to many amenities. We will stay next time.

Just a nice hotel. Room sized bit small for the price but works well. Bed is comfortable. Only issue being they housekeep alternate days, you need to request if you want the room done on those off days. Nothing to complain off just nice.

Waited too long in line. Second in line, waited for 20 minutes. When my turn came, I had to wait for 10 minutes for the check-in processing.

Even tho the room showed signs of age it was super clean and comfy. Good size and comfortable twin beds. Really liked the hotel’s commitment to sustainability with their housekeeping policy and drinking water dispensers on every floor. The pool was pretty good too for both swimming and chilling. It was mostly empty during my stay. Amazing location within walkable distance to most of the city’s hot spots.

Good value hotel in city centre

Overall it was a pleasant stay. Staff were nice especially the ones working at Wembley Cafe and the Chinese doorman uncle who was always concerned about my mom who has mobility issues. He would ask if we needed wheelchair and would open the door for us and even accompanying us to the lift to hold the door. Decor wise - the hotel was a little dated. Room was dark when we entered coz the thick curtains were drawn closed: Thankfully when we drew opened the thick blackout curtains the room was bright and had high ceilings. Although we were told cleaning of the room will be on alternate days, the room attendant would still drop in to do basic towel changing, making the beds and clearing the trash. The hotel was close to Komtar, 1st Avenue mall and Gama supermarket.

Housekeeping was done only on alternate days. Bar fridge is off when the lights goes out / card key is taken out of the slot. Needed the fridge to keep my medicine cool and when it was switched off, my medicine was spoilt.

In average, it is good and acceptable.

Check in was a breeze and the staff was warm and helpful. With Expedia's VIP Acess, we were given the chance for early check in but we were informed that we won't get a room with view. We decided to wait for the room and took up the complimentary welcome drinks for our fave room to be made up.

Follow up is prompt We compliant the aircon is not cool enough, the technician came in within 10 mins.

No bottled water.

To use being environment friendly as an excuse to stop supplying bottled water is ridiculous.

This is a very eco-friendly hotel to the extend they do not even provide a single bottle of mineral water. So you get an empty jug and if you need water, you can fill it up at the corridor lift lobby on your room level. There is also no kettle, means I could not wash the cup or jug. I had no choice but to check on the room service but a bottle of Wembley mineral water cost MYR 13! There is also no tissue box in the room. I think these small little details dampen my stay. If I ever stay here again, I will bring my own box of tissues and bottles of water.

We were lucky that our rooms were ready when we reached there about 12pm and allowed us to check in early. Spacious and clean room. Walking distance to famous eating places and attractions.

The 4-star designation doesn't align with the actual experience; the hotel seems more like a 2-3 star. Noise from adjacent rooms is audible due to ineffective room insulation. The furniture appears outdated, and amenities like bath towels and pillows show signs of wear and dirt, falling short of a 4-star standard.

Perfect hotel for a weekend getaway! My partner and I stayed here upon recommendation from our family and feel we made the right choice staying here. Our room was spacious, and the shower had excellent water pressure! Our city view on the 26th floor was beautiful, and the area surrounding the hotel was picturesque and convenient for eating at local hawker centers. Would recommend! My only recommendation/area for improvement would be the air conditioning in our room. Although it did work and did cool our room, it only ever reached 24 degrees Celsius which was fine, but we would have preferred cooler. The room service was excellent as well! Though one area for improvement there would be having them stay open past 10pm.

Happy with my 4 night stay. Breakfast was excellent. Minutes walk to few shopping mall.

Hotel a bit dated but the location is very good, overall was a good experience to stay at this hotel located at Gorge Town.

The room is clean with sea view. Good location. But I had a problem checking in. I booked 3 rooms about 1 month in advance, but they gave us the rooms apart in different floor. That doesn’t make sense. At last, they changed the rooms for us to be in the same floor.

I visited Penang days before my uncle & aunt's arrival & I personally went to the hotel & talked to the floors r manager & front desk officer about my uncle celebrating his 80th birthday during his stay. They assured me that they would arrange something nice as a kind gesture. Unfortunately nothing came to fruitation. My aunt said no one called on his birthday. The room's furnishing are older & need refurbishment. The housekeeping crew don't clean well, considering it's a 4 star hotel.

Really welcoming staff and rooms were in decent condition. It got noisy at nights over the weekend due to the open air performance but the hotel is not at fault for that. The hotel is close by to shops and great eat outs/

Great service by crew members. From front desk to housekeeping. Major shout out to the doormen. Especially Parbat. Super helpful. Rooms were really disappointing. Our toilet had visits from cockroaches while my mother’s toilet had the drainage kind of smell throughout the 3 nights we stayed. Overall a major dip in cleanliness and comfortability of the rooms as compared to my previous experience last year.

Wifi is really weak and it gets disconnected frequently. Room cleaning happens only once every 2 days. Other than that the stay was good

Dirty room, bad breakfast

Bed sheets were not clean. Breakfast was so bad I didn't eat there even though I paid for it.

Unclean room. Bad Breakfast.

Unclean smokey room. Only 2 bath towels and nothing else. Don't waste your money on the breakfast.
