NYE Experience at the Torch

My family and I decided to stay here during new year. The room was nice, larger than in the pictures but dimmer than expected. The LED lights inside the room were cool and everything was pretty high-tech, however there was some issues controlling the AC temperature with the iPad provided. Moreover, the view was underwhelming due to it being blocked by the outer part of the Torch building. Room service could also use improvement as it took 2 hours before we received our requested water bottles and extra towels. Overall, our stay here was average and didn't greatly contribute to our new year celebration.

The hotel is nice near the stadium and near shopping mall (walking distance) all the staff were great except the room service. I have a 6 month old baby and i needed help to steralize her milk bottles so i can feed her again .. all he said was i can’t help you! Which was very disappointing .. after guest service made it easy and helped thanks to her understanding Also room service called me late night past 12 am telling me he billed the wrong amount for the night before and needs 5 qar more and wanted me to pay NOW ! I was in bed trying to sleep .. how can someone call late at night he could have waited till morning and it was his mistake it’s not like i gave him less! Very unprofessional from him

Decent location for the shopping mall and looking at the Al Khalife stadium. Revolving restaurant worth a visit as amazing views.

Not a 5 star by any means

To call this a 5 star hotel is crazy. I’ve had better stays at 3 or 4 star hotels. The facility is pretty lackluster and the rooms are kind of dated. Some details: 1: this IS a smoking friendly property. Although there are no smoking placards near the elevators, there are ash trays all around the property and people smoking at all times, and no one tells them to stop. Our first room smelled horribly like smoke, so I asked to be moved. We were moved to yet another room that smelled like smoke… They offered air freshener which helped only momentarily. 2: The shower overflowed constantly all over the floor. Also the water temperature was not consistent. It was scalding hot then would become freezing cold. 3: there are no facilities to buy needs on site. There’s 2 restaurants which are extremely expensive and one coffee shop which charged me $20 for TWO bottles of water. I’m not even kidding. The charge was $19.38 usd. For 2 large bottles of water. 4: The reception process was less than warm and welcoming. You’d think at a 5 star hotel it would be a bit more friendly.

Amazing views

One of the best customer service. Staff has been very helpful and professional. Have a great access to Villagio mall. Very sporty ambiance. Food of both restruant 360 and the torch garden is delecious. Overall the best experience in Qatar.

The sink was leaking in the bathroom and know one called me back and it so I didn’t like that

Good option

Great property even tho it wasn't close to the central area very easy to book an Uber. Overall amazing hotel rooms very nice. Had a slight issue with the lights in the room and tabet but that was sorted by an upgrade to one of there unbelievable suites. Definitely would stay again and highly recommend.

It was close to the Hamad Aquatic Centre where I was competing in the World aquatic masters championships

Superb rooms with custom ambience lighting, excellent infrastructure, hanging pool, excellent dining in revolving restaurant, high class breakfast in the Flying Carpet restaurant. Exceeds all your expectations. Cherry on the cake... the hotel provide direct access to the Villagio mall, a mall where night never falls and shopping, dining and entertainment blend into a memorable living experience.

My stay was the best at the Torch. One of the best and modern hotels in the world. Amazing staff.

One thing was bad they don't hsve Enough hot water when taking shower

Very chic and modern building. Latest gadgets. Excellent breakfast. Dramatic pool with great views. Doha’s only revolving restaurant. Only thing I didn’t like was that if you book through Expedia, you can’t charge anything to your room. Must pay with cash or credit.

Overall a wonderful stay. Kept having issues with the Ipad controlled curtains. Good thing I was there for only 2 nights, it first failed when I arrived, they fixed it then failed again the morning I left so not a big deal and they were half open However should have been fixed right the first time. Other than that it is a wonderful stay. Hotel attached to a mall is really nice. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Great hotel. The rooms are incredibly clean, high-tech and the bed is very comfortable. A great hotel, although it would have been better if they had a bar as they only have a restaurant and cafe (admittedly, very nice).

Technology is great, as long as it works....

Great location for events at Aspire Stadium. Hotel was great with one exception, could not close curtains with either the iPad or the controls at bedside. Technology is all good, until it doesn’t work.

Its a nice place to visit once but thats it for me

Its an amazing place with a great gym and pool 19 floors above the ground. The room had everything but good cable, there were no real movie channels and no news channels that were American. Its right next to a huge park and Mall so there is plenty to do. The breakfast was slim pickins as far as choice went.

Everything is exceptional, except that the rooms doesn’t have soundproof which means you could hear noise. The reception offered me to change room.

Hair dryer was not working properly even though i had it replaced, hotel still uses the corded version and it stopped working after a good few 10 secs or less

Nice hotel but no Bar

Hotel was lovely but there was no Bar to get a drink.. Hadnto travel 30 minutes to the nearest Bar at the Marriott Hotel. I understand it is a Muslim country but for a 5 star hotel would of expected a Bar for the hotel guests

I like the way how you control the room light by iPad....with the iPad you can have many thing ...you don't need to call the room service ......they have great swimming pool in the 19th floor and the tea garden.....Also the the 360 restaurant on the top of the torch ....you can watch doha especially at night

The Torch is one of the best places I stayed in Doha. The restaurants and tea garden are simply amazing. Bathroom and bed are great.

Cold weather issue

Cons.: As rare as it maybe that Doha gets a cold weather, we just had that during our visit to Doha, a cold weather (12-16 C). The problem is that we stayed in a very cold room, the temperature read 17C, and the hotel staff said: "nothing we can do about that". There no toilet washing hose, the one that is usually and necessary available in Muslim countries. No taxis available at the entrance of the hotel, you have to cross the street for one. Pros.: The available mini bar at arrival is FREE, you only pay for fill outs. Speedy chick in/out The room is totally controlled from an iPad available in the room... curtains, AC, TV, Music and lights with different ambient colours to choose from. This is the most interesting part I think..They provide you with a menu for pillows! I have not tried it, but you get maybe 4 or 5 types of pillows to select from. The location of the hotel puts you with a walking distance to all Aspire zone facilities such as the Aquatic centre, the football stadium, Aspire academy and the villagio shopping mall.

It was wrong stay in such poor hotel. As say of staff: this hotel is NOT for luxury or leisure niether for Business,It is for special foreigners Athletes visiting Aspire Area. The staff of the restaurant were poorly skilled and need to improve their attitude toward hotel's guests.
