Affordable stay close within walking distance to Suskino Station, facilities are clean. Things to note: bed spaces can be a bit small depending on which room/arrangement and in room space for luggage/clothes drying may be limited. Overall, great place to stay, easy to meet people in lobby, convenient conbinis (7-11, Family Mart) and walking distance to well rated restaurants e.g. Ramai Sapporo Chuo, Ramen spots and Sandria (24/7 Sandwich Spot). During winter, suggested being careful since footpath can be iced up.

After arriving to the Stay at Sapporo i was left ringing the door bell and praying that someone would open the door. No indications for gow to proceed. My only recourse was to seek refuge in a nearby hotel. Can you please refund my money?

Location was not bad. Room was really small so it was hard to keep clean with very limited space to put suitcase, shoes, etc. The bathrooms are shared but clean.

The first thing I loved was the staff and their willingness to accommodate me in when I was in rather a pickle. I had reserved my date incorrectly and had nowhere else to stay after flying to Sapporo and dealing with heavy snowfall. After the concierge made some calls, she was able to get me a private room for the majority of my stay. Unfortunately, also due to some inconsistency with my calendar and plans, I had caused a bit of trouble when I had not changed to a regular bunk my last day and the staff had to collect all my belongings and move them out so they could clean the room, all while I was galavanting at the snow festival.

Helpful staff, walkable location to the station, comfortable communal area

The plafe is good! But if you are sensitive to noise or need good rest at night, then it is better to book a hotel. Some guests could be too noisy ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, rolling their bags or packing and unpacking. The staff were very kind. No bad feelings towards the facility.

Is quite dirty by Japanese standards. The bathrooms and common areas are quite dirty. Location is on a very quiet street. Is about 10 minutes walk to Susukino but the few streets you need to walk to are quiet at night. Dormitory room feels like sleeping in a wooden coffin.

This hostel was great. Love design and serving of staffs. However, I think it was quite far from the subway station.

It’s not bad!

Pleasant stay here in a nicely designed and decorated hostel with very professional staff. Beds are comfortable and showers work great. What I disliked about this place was how dependent guests are on a single elevator and it is programmed to always stop at fl3 on its way up and down, slows everything down. The 10th floor kitchen is okay but lacks some important cutlery like knives and spoons.

This is the first time I choose the hostel and the room even were small but the cleanliness is unexpected as what I am think of. I will recommended to my friend if they are going to travel in Hokkaido, Japan.

Family room a little tight once all were in there with bags. Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable stay!

It’s close to SUSUKINO station. About 10 mins walk and the room and facilities are really clean. They have 2 lounges for you to hangout and also if you’re Muslim they have Muslim only utensils for you to use for cooking. I had an enjoyable time staying here. Thanks

The place was clean, quiet and comfortable, especially since my bed was on the lower level and slightly bigger. The lounges were beautiful and great for chilling as they were not crowded. It is not as sociable as the other hostels in Japan I’ve been at but it could just be the profile of those staying while I was there. In all, a great and affordable place to stay in Sapporo!

Great stay at The Stay

Incredible staff with good English skills, beautiful facilities for a hostel, and of course, very clean. The beds were comfortable, had reading lights, outlets for electronics, and a safe in the "pod", as well as curtains. The bathrooms and showers were immaculate, and the common space / kitchen was comfortable and open and light.

Real chill

This was a really nice space with a lounge that was nice to chill at till late. The staff were really friendly and helped us with all our queries and even recommendations for food places. Pizza Joint Pike downstairs has delicious pizzas and good craft beers too!

Not really near to the subway station

It takes minimum 10 minutes walk to the subway station and susukino and 15-20 minutes walk to the airport bus station. Simple and budget hostel. Only 1 hair dryer each floor and the hair dryer speed very slow. It placed beside the basin and many hair dropped into the basin after some guests used it. The dustbin always full and does not clearly mentioned what to throw inside. During check in, the staff is a newbie and unable to communicate well in English. The room air conditioning is centralized and the temperate is controlled by the reception. So if you feel hot you have to go down to the reception and request to tune the temperature. The reception counter will close at midnight, so please make sure you go down to the reception to request before they close..

Great location and walkable to the main area. Cozy and modern hostel. Room is a little bit squeezy for 2 pax but it is ok for 1 night. Toilet and bathing rooms are comfortable and clean! Heater throughout the building made the stay comfortable as well. Staff were friendly and spoke good english.

Best hostel in Sapporo

I have stayed at this hostel, twice! Very clean facility, friendly and helpful staff; Chiori, Hoyong, Marina and Ryosuke, thank you. The location is perfectly situated in Susukino, cozy lobby, and nice kitchen. I will recommend this hostel to all!

Clean and convenient Guest House

I loved my stay at The Stay Sapporo! The room was a lot smaller and more bare than I expected, so that was something that we had to deal with. The room doesn't even have a table of any kind, just enough room for the beds. That said, the room and the rest of the building is very clean and up to date. Showers, toilets, and other facilities were all very clean. The toilet was way too cold. I'm assuming there is no heat for the toilets, so I think the temperature in the toilet room was freezing. The staff was all super friendly and all spoke good English. We were able to attend a New Year's party put on by the house just after checking in. We met such great people both working and living at The Stay Sapporo. Of course, the best part is the location. It's not right in Susukino, but it's just a short 10-15 minute walk away. Certainly withing walking distance.

Not recommend

Too far from the station. I book a double room and the room had literally nothing but a bed. The room size also too small you couldnt do anything but sleep if enter the room

Great Hostel

Easy to find, very clean, good vibe, good security, pretty close to transit. My only complaint is that the curtain on my bed only covered about half of the bed (due to the odd shape of the ceiling) - making it hard to sleep when the other guests were turning lights off/on.

I shared a room with rest of 7 ppl, but room stay clean and bed was good. The public area is cozy, staff is nice and talked to me like a friend, and breakfast is very simple, but also able to choose go out for breakfast as local ppl do. I would back when visit Sapporo again.

Room was very small for four which made opening of luggages difficult. Clean toilets and bathrooms.

Nice stay

Overall I quite like the stay and no complains. Staff speaks good English too. Just some heads up, you do have to walk 10-15min to the subway station. Toothbrush, towels, laundry come at a small fee should you need them.

Hostel feel / you get what you pay for

Got a double room for two of us. Bed was comfortable but there is very limited space for your luggages & shopping bags & other belongings like shoes & wet umbrellas. Cleanliness wise, rooms are good but rules should be set for bathroom users eg. clean the floor before leaving (saw wet strands of hair on the floor, used tissues in the laundry basket, disgusting!) Trash laying around the corridor too. Also, no clothes hanger in the bathroom? :( Overall nothing to shout about, value for money & you get what you pay for. Would still come back for budget trips. :)

10 minutes walk distance from the the central

Parking lot was only for small cars so I paid 700 yen per night for parking outside. Facility was quite modern. Staffs were extremely kind and helpful. Great for price!

My stay at Sapporo was amazing. It was filled with staff that was so kind and welcoming, really made an effort to make sure their guests are comfortable.

My Stay at The Stay

This was my first hostel stay. I stayed for three nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean, and the amenity charges were reasonable. I was on the upper bunk in a corner with a big concrete ledge jutting out, which wasn't necessarily great. I also wish my curtain had been three inches wider! Other than those two very small cons, this place was fantastic.

i have a pleasure stay in this hostel in term of the cleanliness and comfortableness. it take about 10 min walking from susukino subway station or Tanuki Koji subway station to the hostel. 30 min walk at the underground street that connect the sapporo train station and subway station will bring you to the attractions like odori park and sapporo tower . there are some rest place along the underground street.

This is a new brand hostel. Good to stay!! Reasonable rate!! The only minor thing is a little far from the subway station. It takes about 15mins on foot!!

Nice hostel close to Sapporo snow festival

The hostel was warm and quite modern. The beds were pretty comfortable and you had your own power outlet. Showers are private which is a plus for Japan. The staff seemed disinterested most of the time, hard to get a smile. However they did fulfill their duties: sign you in, give you a key and any other information needed.

It's a great hostel!

Welcoming, friendly, and helpful staff. Very clean room and bathroom. Fully function kitchen for quick meal. Ramen Ally within walking distance.

Great stay!

I spend 2 night here and wish I stayed longer! Will definitely recommend this place for solo travelers. It's a great location, close to a few stations, but also walking distance to many places! The staff were really friendly and very helpful! The room were clean and the lobby hangout area was really nice with good wifi signal all over the hostel!

I stayed in bunkbed and it very cozy dorm. Everything was fine except 1 lady staff that ruin my night. She was not talking nicely to me because she said that i slept on the wrong bunkbed. But she totally wrong with me after i refuse her to check back. Please dont do that again to your customer.

Good for 1 night stays

A typical hostel stay with none of the frills of a hotel. Toilet facilities are shared and there are guest lounges for socialising. Good for backpackers and one night stays but there are better hotels at around the same price if you came in groups of three or more.

Good stay

Much better than I thought. Hotel amenities should be more than 3 stars. 2200¥/person/night was a little expensive but that is an acceptable price in Japan.

Very clean hostel with nice staff

We have 2 small kids with us and the staff is so nice to arrange the room on the 8/F floor which has shower room and toilet. It was so convenient. The hostel is very clean. Only that the space in the room is very limited and without table and chair. We drove there and the GPS could not locate the hostel using the tel. number, Lastly, we find the petrol station nearby and park closely. Still not a big problem.

素晴らしい施設

エレベーターが一つしかなく、階段が無いので他の階への移動が面倒です。 その他には特に不便さは感じませんでした。

自由度の高い宿で気楽に泊まれました。 チェックアウトが楽でした（鍵をボックスに入れるだけなので）

期待して無かったのですが、そんなに悪くなかったです。 バスタオルも貸してくれて、歯ブラシ、髭剃り、耳栓が無料です。コーヒーも無料で美味しくいただきました

すすきの近くで歩いて市場や狸小路などにも行きやすい場所です。 寝ているとエレベーターの動作音が少し気になりました。

すすきのに近い。歩いて行ける距離。 価格と部屋の感じから考えても妥当だと思います。安いしドミトリー大丈夫な方はおすすめ。

繁華街に近く便利です。

合気道の合宿で４日間お世話になりました。 スタッフさんは親切で清潔で必要最低限の生活が心地よかったです。

思いっきり遊んで、寝るだけならこれだけ施設があれば充分です。

スタッフの対応、印象は大変良かったです。施設は清潔でしたが、bのベッドへの出入り口が大変狭く、頭をぶつけました。しかし、中は吹抜けがあり、風通しが良くて快適でした。

値段が安いのでよいです

２泊宿泊させてもらいました。設備等は問題無く快適に過ごせましたが、隣の部屋に帰って来た人が夜中で、うるさくて起きてしまった。

何と言ってもコスパが良い

ドミトリーだったため、ベットについたらすぐに寝るだけだったが、ラウンジはすごく良かった。長期滞在の人が多いため、リラックスして利用できた。朝も7時頃に周りが起きたため、7時に起きることができた。自転車のレンタルもできて、スタッフの対応もよく、よかったです☺️

ボイラーがうるさくて寝れない。マスクをしない客がベラベラ話しているのを、ホテルスタッフが注意しない。

部屋が思ったより狭かったが、料金が安いので良かった。三階のラウンジがゆったりしていて良い雰囲気でした。 必要なものはレンタルできるので、泊まるだけの人なら満足できる。

宿泊費は安いですが、安かろう悪かろうではなく、徹底的に無駄を省かれたところに感心しました。 寝るためだけなら十分です❗ すすきの駅までも徒歩５分ほどと近く、機会があればまた利用したいです。

とても安くてお得です

10階の共有スペースはキッチンやテーブルにソファーや和室もあり、リビングのようでとても過ごしやすかったです。

不自由はありませんでしたが、少し狭かったかなぁとは思います。大柄な欧米人は、ドミトリー部屋に留まらない方が良いかもしれません。カプセルホテルの部屋よりも、少し小さい気がします。
