Everything was good however a couple of times our room was not done despite requesting it. Also the mattress was covered in feathers under the protector.

Property condition and housekeeping standards were poor. Rooms not cleaned until 4pm and parking access and availability very poor.

Review

The hotel is pretty good but there was a lot of misinformation during our stay. When I asked about the car park at check-in, I was told there was no charge as long as I validated the ticket at check-out. However, at check-out, I was informed we needed to pay $20 for parking. Additionally, we were told we had $50 credit to use in the room, but it wasn’t clarified that this was limited to room service and didn’t include the minibar.

Nice buzzing property with beach and shopping at 15 mins walk..property was modern and well maintained. Pool area was fun for the kids

View from room and convenient

Great stay always is lovely to stay, the only advice is when someone is staying fit their 40th wedding anniversary offer a bottle of champagne or something to celebrate and surprise the couple! I let reception know and nothing!

The property is showing signs, all over, that it is a bit tired. The room in particular, shower etc. The drunken and disorderly was another level tho. Not fun.

Slow

Service is poor - check in was slow, check out took so long we gave up and just left. The buffet is for kids and families, not a nice relaxing breakfast at all. You can do a lot better for that price on the Gold Coast, so we won't be back.

We absolutely loved our stay. The rooms and property are beautiful, so architectural. The bed and bedding was unbelievably comfortable, we had the best sleep. Lots of delicious food options and walking distance to Pacific Fair shopping centre.

Great venue

I loved the room. It was so clean and looked lovely. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning helped us feel more comfortable in the humid climate. The parking was very full when we arrived and it took almost an hour to leave the carpark on checkout. The amount of options for dining was a reason I booked at we have dietary requirements. We had a negative experience at one of the restaurants but the rest of the staff did their best to remedy the situation. After waiting an hour and a half we decided to leave without dinner. The pool was great and I loved the view down to the Casino and restaurants looking down from the hallway to the room. It created a great atmosphere and aesthetic to our stay. We loved the decor and the Christmas decorations made it all the more beautiful. Besides the parking and the restaurant experience, our stay was great 😊

Great weekend stay with lots of dining options and things to do in and around the hotel so you hardly / rarely even have to leave if you don’t want too.

I arrived late due to a delayed flight. Check in was fast and the lady was very polite. I was in my room in no time. Room service was quick and delicious and the bed was as comfortable as I remember! Love staying at The Star!

Great short staycation

I would have given blue stars across the board for everything about wife and I' stay at the Star Grand GC but checking in and out seemed to take a long time to complete , but once sorted everything else was 5 star the room upgrade deserved an extra star , thanx StarGrand GC.

When we checked in late on a Saturday night we had to move rooms 2 times and ended up with our original booking. Firstly we got moved to a twin bed room after ordering a Superior King room. Then when we went back to reception we were moved to another room only to find their was already someone's baggage in the room. Finally we were moved to the original room.

I stayed in room 1601 , every night there was crashing and banging going on upstairs like it was service room and you could hear people walking on timber floor I guess

Was a nice room, sadly the view of the aircon was not what would be expected of a 5 star hotel

Unfortunately, I would say this was a good holiday. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, it was a mess. We were promised two interconnecting rooms due to elderly grandparents and kids sleeping in both rooms. When we got there, they said we didn't get that... then made us wait until they "asked" other guest to move rooms so we could be accommodated making us feel guilty (they made the mistake on their end. Then we had a bad experience in the hotel restaurant when we told about a member discount and the manger refused to apply it... coffee ordering at the café didn't either go to well with the barista fulfilling orders placed after us (we just ordered coffee) and then being rude to my husband after making us wait. And lastly, we had noisy upstairs neighbours moving around and banging which lead to a picture falling of the wall (luckily my child was sleeping on the other side to where the picture was) at 2am - we told the check out that morning and she came back asking why we didn't make a complain then and there....after going back and forth she said she will refund us $100. I'm sure people have a lot of good things to say but we had one off holiday.

Helpful staff,Most of the public areas were clean and tidy however the toilets could and should be cleaned much more regularly.

Stayed at Star and took in a dinner and a show. Staff very helpful, venue was great. Food and accommodation excellent.

The star casino hotel deserves 5 stars

Got a good deal, thanks to my rewards deal through hotels.com!! It included more than 1 bargained for as on arrival they told me about the layer check out & "$50 room voucher" so it gave a couple of extra nice inclusions to the stay despite it was sadly only overnight. Breakfast was amazing as they got the chef to go around as re my dietary requirements to ensure I knew what foods I could eat which made it alot easier & with a good selection generally available too.

Our room wasn't cleaned, bed sheets made up, anytime of our stay which was 5 nights, so i was ringing up house keeping every day ( when they eventually picked up) and asked for amenities, toilet paper etc. Asked at front desk for toilet paper, towels , never came so i had to ring house keeping at 2am for them. Door swipe key for the lift barely reacted to engage our floor and with 21 floors going up and down constantly missing your floor as the key would not lock in your exit floor was annoying. The tv didn't have HDMI capabilities, nor screen mirroring, or chrome casting even tho its a smart tv. I rang up front desk and they said youtube a solution as they couldn't help or send anyone to trouble shoot. Disappointing for being a 5 star hotel and the $ i paid.

Uncomfortable

The bed was so uncomfortable that it dipped in the middle. The shell pressure was terrible.

Stayed in the king terrace suite and wasn’t too impressed even though it’s meant to be a highly rated property. There was mould growing in the fridge and when it was made aware to staff, someone came and cleaned it out with bleach. The room then smelt of bleach so I had to open the terrace door for the night and stay in the bedroom. The fridge also smelt like bleach when I checked out a day and a half later. It’s really hard to connect your phone to the tv’s. And when you did get it connected, it was easy to disconnect. The wardrobe door didn’t close properly, causing the light inside to stay on in the bedroom. The staff were really friendly, but the property seems to need more detailed care.

Such a loud venue . All the public spaces are playing very loud music and the comfort level is lessened

From the moment of arrival the service was slow. They can not be ever considered a 5 star hotel. We could not enter our room from the moment we arrived so we went to the cafe directly downstairs from the reception. We ordered and 1/2 hour later had still not got food. they could not even find the order then the manager came and by this stage another 15 minutes had elapsed and still not resolved. Gave up in the end as a room was now ready. The start of the stay tells much the same story as the rest of the stay. Problem is there is no competition for the casino so they can do whatever they like.

Steer clear

A $600 room was so small and uncomfortable with no view a smaller bathroom then what i had in tokyo, parking was $70 a night we were told its not included with the stay nor were offered valet. The breakfast buffet was awful and the women who greeted us into the buffet were rude. I have stayed here 5 times before and each time it gets worse very disappointed

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Star Gold Coast. However we found that the room is lack of proper sound insulation, we got woken up in the middle of the night by the people walking and talking through the corridor. There was some clicking noises on the floor of the room above us in early morning. The timber wall feature above the bed head was cover with dust. The ensuite is very small, and the water pressure was average.

Star Casino Gold Coast - Very disappointing!

For what we paid for the room, it was very ordinary. 1. The room was not made up by housekeeping after the first night of our 2 night stay. This is just basic expectation of a hotel of this standard and price! 2. TV remote control did not work and needed to be replaced. We had no access to the TV and no access to information about the hotel such as restaurants and bars or our account information which is displayed on the in-room TV. 3. The room lighting system was a complete mystery and had a mind of its own. There were no instruction on how it worked. Especially the lights in the hanging cupboard and breakfast bar, or the footlights in the bathroom. 4. Restaurants were overpriced for what was on offer. Harvest charged $35.90 for breakfast buffet and I’ve had better and more varied offerings on cruise ship buffets. We arrived at 9:30 and they had already started shutting up but we weren’t told so no barista coffee! 5. The Mei Wei Dumpling restaurant was excellent, I couldn’t fault it. 6. We were entitled to free parking but it took about 15mins at the parking validation desk to sort it out when it should have been automatic.
