Beautiful location. Lovely pools. Our room was right off the adult pool, so nice. The buffet breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed how quiet it was. If you wanted to go to Ao Nang beach they had a shuttle. Very helpful staff. Highly recommend a stay here.

We had an amazing stay at The Shellsea in Krabi! The resort was absolutely beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly helpful and resourceful, making our experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the pool bar—the staff there was so sweet and friendly, making it a great place to relax and unwind. We also loved how convenient it was to just walk down to the beach, making it easy to enjoy the stunning surroundings. The pools were always at a comfortable temperature, which made swimming even more enjoyable. Another standout aspect was the laundry service, which was incredibly fast—we were so grateful for that convenience. A special shoutout to the concierge team, especially the young lady who helped us book a private long-tail boat tour of the islands on short notice. It was such a memorable experience, and we truly appreciated how seamless she made the process. Overall, The Chelsea exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and well-run place to stay in Krabi!

A real gem, peaceful, quiet and tranquil after a number of weeks travelling. The resort is set back from other areas, so there is limited local restaurants, however Godle is very close and very good. Other amenities and shops are over 30minutes walk. The hotel has bikes, my only feedback whilst free they do need servicing and ensuring that they are in good roadworthy condition. Thank you, we had a great stay. Good breakfast and lively staff at the breakfast service.

Quiet and calm, the staff were lovely and attentive. Gardens and grounds well kept and plenty of sun-beds available. Rooms clean and well maintained.

The people working there were the best part. Great, quiet location.

Unfulfilled potential

The ShellSea has incredible views and an opportunity to be superb but is generally underwhelming in all aspects. Nothing is especially bad but for the price point it feels like a check box 5 star exercise rather than one of quality. Spend a few pennies more and experience a drastic uplift at places such as Rayavadee, Phulay Bay, Dusit Thani, etc.

The property is very nice but there are hardly any dining options. It's a very limited menu in the one restaurant they have and the same is available for room service. For a property that is 20 minutes away from the main tourist area, there really should be more food available. There are also no restaurants nearby. One other small issue was that the kids club restroom has no soap which is very strange.

very nice staff! Even from the first phone call my partner made to this hotel everything and everyone was so gorgeous , friendly , specially reception and the guy who's in charge of water sports due to them, the pools, room and the amazing private beach I have to say it's one of the best hotels in Thailand. We loved the water sports and the pool OMG the temperature was amazing - the best we had in all of thailand . The room we got was amazing a wonderful tub and big clean wonderful room with view to the ocean. The only downside of this hotel is location (very far from everything else, not even 7/11 nearby and hotel restaurants not cheap) and I have to say also the breakfast was also a bit disappointing, not what I expected from 5* luxury hotel like that. But I can't complain I enjoyed my time there very much and I recommend this hotel for couples and who ever that want to relax and enjoy nice beach and pools.

The friendly and helpful staff.

They market themselves as a luxury hotel, but they clearly lack attention to detail. I experienced a frustrating 50-minute wait for the hotel shuttle at their Ao Nang sister hotel. The shuttle was supposed to arrive at 4:00 PM, but it never did. Despite the sister hotel calling them three times, they kept insisting the shuttle was on its way. Exhausted from waiting, we eventually called a Grab, only to find the shuttle parked right in front of the hotel when we arrived. When I complained to the front desk, they pretended to be unaware of the situation. Additionally, upon arrival, I informed them that I had two reservations and wanted to merge them to avoid switching rooms. They assured me there would be no problem, but when the first reservation expired, so did my room keys. I requested someone to come and resolve the issue, but they insisted I go to the lobby once again.

The staff were amazing especially Bee on reception she was outstanding, going out of her way for us to organise and help us, so friendly and beautiful, she is to be recommended and recognised for her service to the Seashells hotel. Also Rena was the travel organiser she was extremely helpful in organising days trips and taxis for us. She gave us lots of advice and was very competitive with her prices, we had an amazing boat trip to all the islands. We will be back for sure. The accommodation was beautiful, views amazing and all staff lovely. Great location, beautiful views, pool was amazing. Overall amazing place to stay.

Everything was great, only few downsides - lack of variety of food, more activities needed but overal for relaxing holiday perfect! lovely beach and swimming poll! Sticky rice with mango- amazing!!!

Hotel comfort and aesthetics are great. Enjoyed the hotel spa as well! Hotel is away from the center hype area, so if you are looking for some peace and quiet you can consider this hotel. Hotel also provides free shuttle (on a schedule) to ao nang downtown.

We stayed in a pool villa and really enjoyed our time at the Shellsea. Mark who drove the shuttle, was terrific and friendly. The resort is beautiful. Great place to stay in Krabi, however our only complain is there was nothing to do in the evenings. It lacked atmosphere, so the only option for us was to go to town at night. The Shellsea is a bit far from town and their shuttle’s last pick up was at 6pm. We ended up finding a great restaurant with better prices near the beach in Ao Nang that had a fire show in the evenings and live music. Bummer we had to leave the resort to find some evening entertaining.

Amazing resort in a quite place with a private beach and two swimming pools. Rooms were clean and modern and the staff was lovely.

The resort is very pretty, very clean, very comfortable. But it is in the middle of nowhere. If you have a car, this will not be an issue. We were only there three nights, and had never needed a car anywhere else in Thailand. You can’t get anywhere without one. They’ll call you a cab, and it will cost 2-4x what Grab costs you to get back to the hotel. They have a shuttle to take you to Ap Nang and Ao Nang ONLY, and it has very limited predetermined departure and return times. The hotel food is, unfortunately, not great aside from breakfast. There’s a place called God-Le restaurant just down the street that is idyllic and delicious. The beach at the resort is mucky and unusable at low tide. If they provided a better shuttle service, this would be a much better hotel. If it was closer to…anything…it would be a better hotel. If you’re just looking to sit by the pool and not see Thailand, or if you have a rental, it’s great.

The hotel itself is beautiful but it’s really far from everything and the restaurant in the hotel is very expensive and is only ok. The shuttle only goes in and out three times a day. The staff are very nice. If the restaurant was really good, or about a third of the price, and I wanted a very quiet holiday I would stay there again.

Wonderful hotel - very relaxing

During our stay, the staffs were absolute stars! They are extremely kind and friendly, and they do everything they can to help you :) The hotel, room and the pool were all really lovely like paradise, very clean and modern as well :) The location is a bit remote from everything so if you're someone who wants to go out all the time, you might need some extra money for taxi trips. But if you want to chill and relax, this is an absolute gem! Would defo stay there again and highly recommend to anyone :)

A really nice resort. The staff were friendly and happy to assist with all tours and excursions. We liked the private beach and the adults only pool is a good option. The free shuttles to Au Nang and Krabi were a pleasant surprise and are frequent enough for flexibility. There is also a free shuttle to the grocery store just 3 minutes drive. Highly recommended.

Almost everything was perfect. But restaurant food was not worth for price. However, breakfast buffet was good enough.

Everything about this place is excellent, both the rooms, the pools, the beach and above all, the very welcoming staff. Highly recommended!

Amazing hotel and staff! All facilities are new and it is a great value for money. All the staff that helped us organise our day to day activities were great - we booked a number of island tours through the hotel and every day was organised very smoothly with pick up from the hotel and for a good price. The spa is also wonderful, offering some great massages. I would 100% stay again. Thank you all for making our trip so excellent!

ocean view room

ocean view room was amazing. good sport facilities. we made good use of the shuttle service into ao nang but one improvement would be to have greater capacity for this shuttle service. Food options in hotel wasn’t great (but found an amazing thai restaurant 5 mins walk which we went to for lunch 4 out of 5 days)

Loved this property. A bit on the expensive side, but the bedrooms are worth it. The spa is overrated. I wasn’t pleased with my massage at all and I paid US prices for it. I’m still in pain because the therapist didn’t address the kinks and knots in my body. Also, the international breakfast I ordered for room service wasn’t good at all.

Very beautiful and nice property with modern amenities. Staff is very warm, helpful and courteous. Nice and clean private beach. Definitely recommended

Nice hotel, but terribly over priced

We stayed in 8 different hotels on our trip throughout Thailand and this was by far the most expensive and most disappointing g. The hotel was a very nice hotel, but for the price and location I would not stay here again. This hotel was 2.5X more expensive than the hotel we stayed at in Ao Nang beach, so I was expecting a whole lot more luxury and service. It is out of the touristy area and not easily accessible to anything local in Ao Nang. Save your money and book someplace else.

Shell sea review

We hadn’t booked to stay in the shell sea and went to another hotel that was rated 4.5 star (beyond resort krabi) that clearly wasn’t. We switched hotels and got the pool side room in the shell sea. It cost a little more but tbh was well worth it. The hotel was perfect, great service, the rooms were modern and clean with excellent WiFi which is rare in these parts whilst the staff were so attentive and helpful. If we’d stayed in our previous hotel for the 4 nights then it would have ruined part of our trip but the shell sea was excellent. We’d definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it.

Great resort, but...

Shell Sea is a beautiful new resort away from the bustling crowds. The beach is private and clean. The staff was terrific. So why the "but?" The food was a big disappointment. You expect it to be pricey at an expensive resort, but that quality should match. It wasn't. We ended up buying food at a Thai restaurant in Ao Nang and asking the hotel to heat it up for us in the morning for breakfast. Although the breakfast buffet had lots of choices, the unripe fruit wasn't replenished when they ran out. Also, the internet can be improved so you don't have to log in every time you turn on your computer.

Beauty by the sea

A beautiful property, with a few operational kinks to work out. While I would highly recommend it, patience will be of value. Also...the hardest bed I've slept in, in some time. Free paddleboarding was nice, and the two pools give some variety.

It was such a pleasure to stay at the ShellSea. It was a great place to spend the end of our trip where we can be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and simply relax. The hotel had great decor, modern and very clean. The two pools had great views of the Andaman Sea and were peaceful and relaxing (especially the hammock which had the best view of it all). I also had the opportunity to enjoy the Spa on location, which was also great. And I also have to make a special mention to the customer service here at the ShellSea because it was exceptional. Everyone we encountered was so helpful, friendly and . efficient. This hotel has a great selection of activities on location that can keep you active and busy. The gym on location is small, but has pretty much everything that you need to get a good workout in during your stay (if that is something that appeals to you). Some things to take note: - There is beach access but the beach has a lot of shells that you would have to walk on so it is not one I would recommend sunbathing in. It is fun to walk on if you would like to see a lot of different crabs :-) - You are pretty far from town (long walk/short drive), but they do have a shuttle service that you can reserve which takes you to and from the hotel. If you want a place to escape from it all and just simply relax, this is a great hotel to do so.

The staff was EXCELLENT in ALL areas. They did not treat you as guest but as friends. The place was very well kept up and it was beautiful. If we go back to Krabi this will be the ONLY place we would stay. Well done.

Perfect hotel, overlooking the beach, tranquil and away from the noisy An Nong. Yet still able to be mobile due to courtesy transport. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much. The restaurant menu's do need to be reviewed, as well as the pricing model- especially at low season.

Lovely hotel with amazing views

Lovely hotel, staff cannot do enough for you. The meals are pricy and maybe to draw customers in during low season hotel should do some promotions on food.

Fabulous boutique resort and the friendliest staff

We took the Grand Pool Villa at the Shell Sea resort as the only last minute option on Expedia after we had to change our plans due to the recent Lombok earthquakes, but we were glad we did. The accommodation was clean, spacious, and private, and we couldn't fault the staff's politeness and constant smiles. The pool was fabulous and the attention from the team of maids, gardeners, security and maintenance staff was sufficient without being intrusive. Daily fresh flowers and treats were also a nice touch. The food was very good, although we did prefer eating at the various fantastic seafood restaurants in Ao Nang. We only had two criticisms, neither of which were anything to do with the resort itself. Firstly, the adjoining beach had a staggering amount of refuse, including a lot of broken glass, which rendered it pretty much unusable. This was partly due to the natural shape of the bay, corralling rubbish during storms, and partly due to it being used by a number of fishermen for boat and net maintenance. However, there were fantastic beaches a short taxi/bike ride away. The other criticism was the numerous unfriendly and arrogant French families that seemed to accumulate there, most of whom seemed to have complete contempt for everyone except their fellow countrymen, including the staff. If you can overlook these two issues you will enjoy a fabulous resort.

Nice New Fusion Hotel Resort

Overall my stay with my wife at the Hotel was pleasant. We were greeted with friendly smiles from the ShellSea staff. Our guest bedroom was wonderful and spacious. One of our disappointment was that we didn't get a sea-view guest room. The beach at the resort was not pleasant to swim. But we were happy with the swimming pools & that the Hotel provides free activities and gears for the hotel guest to use. My wife & I were able to use the Kayak and bicycles to explore the island and places. The Hotel also offers free shuttle for Guest to Ao Nang tourist area. One area of improvement & feedback I want to give is for staff to pay attention to important details & special occasion to guests' request. Was looking forward to celebrate my wife birthday, I had inform through email that we are celebrating our anniversary & my wife's birthday on our stay at ShellSea. I was then informed by ShellSea they would send a birthday cake to our room. Birthday cake was suppose to be delivered to our room after we return back from our dinner at around 7pm as a surprise. But I waited over 2 hours & my wife had changed into her nightgown & felt asleep. I had to leave my guest room & approach the Front-desk to ask the cake. Staff looked stunned & apologise that they had forgotten. When the staff came over to our guest room 20mins later & knock on the door, I had to get my wife to change her attire for the staff to bring the cake in. We only ended up eating a slice of the cake as it tasted stale.

Disappointing stay

It was my birthday retreat and my partner actually made some special arrangement with the resort to surprise me with a cake and some decorations in the room before our arrival. The special arrangement has already been confirmed by the staff prior to our arrival. But as we entered the room, nothing was in place and we were told that they will only set up such special arrangment on my birthday itself- which is the day that we are checking out. It wasn't as fantastic as what others review. The room that we stayed has a sewage smell and it was really very unpleasant. The issue was brought to the staff attention but nothing was done to it. There were some complimentary activities provided. However, apart from jogging and thai boxing, we felt that the other activities should be taught by a more professional instructor, especially Yoga and Tai Chi. But overall good effort to have those classes in. Gym was rather small and equipment were very limited. Mats provided was very smelly and dirty. Mosquito larvae were found in the flower pot at the counter- which we have already highlight to the staff. We received a complimentary upgrade and hoping that things will be better. But no! The outdoor Jacuzzi was not even working, the private pool was very dirty and the grass at the garden were not well trim. We really couldn't believe that a resort that considered themselves as luxury turns out to be a very disappointing stay for us.
