Nice quiet stay
The hotel was in a great location for the festival i was attending and the pri e was fair, the showers area was a bit confined but managable, great walking distance to tons of places to eat and really nice area its quiet and peaceful
Great hotel I am back every year when carnival is on great staff so welcoming
It was really good and great friendly staff. Only thing that would make it better is something better to cool the room down than a fan. Would definitely recommend!
Hotel OK but bed as hard as a rock
While the hotel is clean and seems to be well run the bed was literally as hard as a rock so we barely got any sleep. It was literally like trying to sleep on the floor.
Great staff. Lovely neighbourhood… room is smaller but did the trick.
Mini break
We felt the room lacked a bed-side table and a/or a second chair. The bathroom tap was a bit grim.
Value for Money
A hotel in an excellent location for a reasonable price. 2 negative things: thin walls (take earplugs) and hard beds Apart from this it was an awesome base camp to explore the usual London touristy things.
Great for a short stay
The hotel is in a perfect location - 5 minutes from the circle line and just a little further for a central line tube. There is parking at the hotel and nearby. The hotel is very clean. We had a luxury room on the second floor which a very spacious and has a small kitchenette etc. however the bathroom is extremely small and the room is extremely warm, even in the middle of November. We needed the fan on and the window open to sleep comfortably.
Best location, Easy going, Dining and Cafe nearby , especially your staff name’s Freshja (can’t remember his name) I love his friendly and always great support. Eakkrita Kaewpoolsri, Thailand
Good based to sleep well experiencing London
The hotel was clean and bed made daily, the mattress was harder then my girlfriend would have like but individual preference. The location is amazing and it’s a very nice looking building idea for those that want a good bed to sleep in a night but are planning to see London
I know London's a challenge but this room was small. It was front ground floor and loud with street noise. Bathroom fan didn't work and the door had to be forced shut. There was no AC and no fan, but we were able to open the window for some breeze at night. Staff were friendly.
Great place and within easy reach of tube
Clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Could use some blackout curtains in the room though that's my only grumble.
At check in they tried to charge me but I had already paid in advance. En suite was tiny , very difficult to use , shower tray kept over filling quickly so had to keep stopping shower . Tv reception was awful programs kept stopping with bad signal. No lamps so bright or dark. I thing inbetween. Otherwise was ok ..
Excellent staff and location
I felt I was mis-sold on location and price (Hyde Park Hotel in Bayswater!).
Booked and when arrived had no acknowledgement of the booking despite the booking confirmation code :- 72564819427274. I am sure that I would have had a great day and given top notch feedback, but sadly had to deem this experience as payment dispute like ordering something from amazon or e-bay and money is taken from account and you don't receive the product or goods. 😶😶
Next to many parks and palaces
Reception staff was awesome! Made our stay a lot easier by helping get transportation to where we needed to go.Beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was great. The only two issues, no face cloths or ice available.
Lovely staff on reception and great that you can park the car for extra £24 a day. Had a triple room. Bathroom very small. No good if you are on the large side ! Floor in bedroom bit unsteady & uneven. Need a chest of drawers as only wardrobe space. Wasn’t bad for the price
Excellent service, cleanliness, location.
Staff were all extremely helpful and kind. Calm atmosphere. Comfortable with basic needs catered for and generally a nice place to be and come back to!
Good location. Manager Alex and Anna were great
Great hotel in a good location. Parking on site was secure however a lottle expensive, but cheaper than NCPs near by. Hotelnwas clean and bright. Anna the receptionist was very welcoming and Alex the manager was a great guy. I will definitely stay here again. - David and Patrick
Quiet area, welcoming staff. Comfortable bed, nice shower.
Convenient location
Super comfy beds !
Amazing couldn’t have picked a better hotel for our trip. We arrived early after a long Drive and greeted but friendly welcoming staff and we’re offered early check in without asking. The car park was locked and secure . Our room was perfect we had amenities for breakfast teas and coffees . A large mirror by the door which is a nice touch if your going for a night out. The bed was super comfy we didn’t want to get up! Nice and warm hotel too. We will definitely come back here. Bayswater tube station is like 5 mins walk too. Great location for travel all round London.
Clean , easy to find and near to beautiful park
Overall property was good have lots of space I was on the second floor rooms case wise it was good. They have very e small shower area so practically you don't have any room to even turn and shower has only a particular angle. You also don't provide you any soap, but they do provide you dispensing soap which is only available inside the shower area. But they have very cool stuff they even willing to help you when you have checked out. Which makes this hotel really awesome.. metro station from this hotel is very near you can reach there within 10 minutes. Area wise it's like very quiet but you to find many restaurant options. Overall experience was awesome !! Love to stay here again..
Excellent service
The room was good, but outside the window some sort of generator. It made a noise all night. I didn't get much sleep.
4 nights in London
Lots of food options and near 2 tube stations within zone 1 very convenient to get to most areas in London.
Simple but clean, comfy beds in a nice quiet part of the city
I have stayed at The Royal Chulan many times. It's a fair hotel in a very nice and convenient area -- near Bayswater Station and Hyde Park. Hotel is no frills, but has a kitchenette. Most of the staff can be very nice. Our recent stay was not good. We got a basement room, which you should avoid at all costs. Room was musty, as there is no ventilation. Sheets had holes and beds were not comfortable. Bathroom is fitted for handicap accessible needs, but all light sockets are overhead and a major fire hazard.p
Air conditioning was broke and it was super hot. Was told take a cold shower. No fans available. Said this has happened before. Mold on bathroom ceiling.
Good location, clean, comfortable and quiet. Helpful staff
Nice location, close to many restaurants , markets and shops. Kensington Palace Gardens and park is right around the corner. Very clean hotel and wonderful staff.
I liked the stove. The water pressure was really good in the shower. It was a very small shower though. But it worked fine.
Proximity to shopping and other tourist areas of interest. Location is great.
Good budget hotel with friendly staff. Would recommend.
Could have been better
Nice location for the area. Check in friendly and efficient. Room was relatively clean, just need a little bit more care taken. Room was compact, just enough room to walk past bed. Using desk was tight squeeze Room would look bigger if hot plate and sink where removed. Bathroom was clean but tired. No soap left, just an old bottle of shower wash perched on the sink. Tiles grouting rough. Ceilings showing evidence of roof leaks Breakfast, well! Awful, yoghurt, bread, boiled eggs, cheese. Coffee was instant not fresh No pastries Check out was just leave key on desk Overpriced at £99, more a £60-70 is reasonable
No windows the room, bathroom awnings got molds, but walkable to all parks, stores, restaurants, train stations, as soon as you gonna be aquinted with the areas, you will like it, thers a lot of hotels in the nearby soroundings too. The picture shown is old.
Good location
Location very good, hotel and room clean enough but rooms and bathrooms very small and run down. Good value for money considering London prices.
Good breakfast, near Hyde Park , Kensington place, close to Queensway tube and Bayswater tube..walking distance to restaurants...dusty curtain...we still have to inform the front desk about AC was not working. I am suspicious that they set up the temp of rooms ..if you don't inform them they won't set or turn on the AC..
friendly hotel
Nice friendly hotel with decent sized rooms and a comfy bed. However, business travellers might not find it that great due to the stupid small size ironing boards they have - completely impractical and make the process of running an iron over a shirt take about half an hour!
Near to Paddington, clean and comfortable room — no frills but a good value.
Comfortable rooms with fridge, kettle and small kitchen area, could do with a microwave. Lovely reception staff and maids. Excellent location just off Westbourne Grove overlooking a garden square. Lovely, quiet street, but only a few minutes away from lots of restaurants, beauty salons and shops. Close to Portobello Market and the West End
if the hotel can let customers check in early is more prefect
Likes- location. Walking distance to Queensway and Bayswater tube stations and an array of Halal restaurants. Depending on who was on duty, the front reception staff swings from warm/friendly/helpful to disinterested. Dislike- We paid for a premium room yet the size of the bathroom was small!
London
Not so good
Great location in London but only a bare minimum hotel. Everything was average enough, except for the BED. Hands down the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in. It was like sleeping on wood with a sheet.
Easy access to subway and attractions
Great location and was good for the money arrived Around 4pm check in was straight forward small kitchen but never used it
Good location, good value of money for what we paid during high season like New Year countdown.
You get what you pay for
The shower went hot and cold and leaked. The heater was broken and on at 28 degrees Celsius (86F). They do allow luggage drop off. The guy at the front desk was friendly. If you just want an inexpensive place to rest your head, it’s great. If you want something on a level with Holiday Inn, this isn’t your place.
Very basic room.
Very basic hotel. Enough for a couple of days to explore London. Rooms are very small and a bit dated. Water pressure in the shower was low. Small things like A/C or TV remote were not working properly. Our room had a kitchenette with a mini-stove. We had dishes but no pans to use on the stove.
Spotlessly clean but tiny room. Dining room was even smaller than my bedroom and sat about six dinners. Imwas given a 30min slot, arrived promptly and couldn't even enter the room due to the crowd of guests trying to get in - don't offer dining if you can't cater for it!
Comfy mattress in great location
Luxury room has comfy and very soft mattress, room is compact, bathroom is tight but all in great new condition and clean. 10 mins. from tube, buses, supermarkets, bars, souvenir shops, restaurants and much cheaper than central London.
The smell in the room was very very strong. The room was in the basement and felt like a dungeon.
Reasonable hotel in a good location
The hotel was very conveniently located about 15 minutes walk from Paddington Station. I was warmly received on an arrival. The room was small but well appointed and my stay was comfortable. It could be considered a little noisy due to footfall from the reception above and anyone congregating at the hotel entrance as the (basement) room window was near here. The curtain covering said window could be a little more generous. It only just fit. WiFi was a bit slow. Nevertheless I was not disturbed and wouldn’t hesitate to use this hotel again on a future trip.
The bed was absolutely horrid. Solid wooden floor boards are softer. The pillows, and I did not know this was possible, were also very firm. And this is all coming from a person who purchases firm pillows and owns a firm mattress. Definitely not comfortable...
Room is exactly as what in the photos. Small but however is comfortable and functional. However the rooms may need some refurbishment. Most of the staff are friendly and location is quite good. Rooms are clean too.
Short stay in London
The location of the hotel is excellent and within short walking distance to underground stations as well as Hyde park. Surroundings of the hotel appeared to be safe at night with shops & restaurants near by. The room was clean and neat but the air con in the room appeared to be a bit faulty and not functioning properly during a hot summer day. The room comes with a small stove and simple kitchen utensils for you to heat up your meals. I must comment on the receptionist by the name of Mr Spiros who has been very pleasant and extremely helpful during our short stay in London. The hotel also provides storage for our luggages upon check out. Wifi facility in the hotel is quite good
Great location
The hotel was clean and tidy. The air conditioning did not work in our room but a fan was brought to the room immediately to compensate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great. Close to the tube, local shops and pubs.
This Hotel is very good for where it is situated
I had a very good night's sleep. The room was comfortable and amenities were excellent
Overall, average rating!
I stayed here for 2 nights. The wi-fi super slow. Housekeeper did not clean up our room, they knocked the door early in the morning while I’m still sleeping, I told them to comeback after 1pm, unfortunately they did not come. The toilet quite small. The wooden floor somehow not smooth and quite dangerous to step on. Location wise was good since easy access to restaurants and public transport.
A great stay!
I booked a room last minute, and spent the first night of my 5-day stay in a room which was situated in the basement. It wasn't what I expected, as the carpet was badly stained, and the bathroom was very tiny. I requested a change the next day and moved onto the main floor, and was so happy I did! The room had a lovely high ceiling, a comfortable bed, and a workable bathroom. It was very charming. The staff were helpful and accommodating throughout my time there, and the establishment is close to a plethora of handy things. I will definitely stay again, but will ensure I request a room above ground.
A very small room with equally small shower. The bed was rock hard which is not what you want to come back to having a day exploring the sights in London. On the plus side it was clean and in a good area
The hotel is in a great location. We arrived late in the evening, and luckily several Greek restaurants were open. Santorini was delicious. The room/apartment itself was a bit more shabby than photos suggested. The tiny kitchen table was covered in scabby marks through which the cork board popped. It is great for a short stay. The bathroom was incredibly tiny, but clean.
Great for a budget hotel
We paid a very low rate and had a nice, solid room with kitchenette. The shower was definitely tiny, but other than that, the location was great. There are loads of nearby restaurants and the hotel is within easy walking distance to Portabello Rd market and Bayswater tube station to get around town. Hyde Park is also an easy walk. Great budget hotel. Very satisfied and would stay here again.
Curtains..
If you're not bothered about having your windows covered by curtains then you might find this place Ok, my room had half a curtain, when I enquired about this the female member of staff couldn't give a toss and obviously nothing was done about it.
Good vicinity to stay in
Toilet too small. Area quite difficult to find on first time. Staffs doesnt smile often.
Could be better
Can only give review on standard room Which in my case was a basement room which was very very small. toilet sink and shower all in one very small space if you are of large build it will be very difficult. Card to room fid not work properly. I had to go to reception 3 times comulating in reception attendant trying. Resulting in giving me a metal key to open the door. Also for the £94 one night room this does not include breakfast. Whole experience slightly disappointing.
Business trip
Clean, comfortable, nice people at reception. Plates and bowls in kitchenette were chipped and not properly washed. Could do with a knife too. Good noise insulation from other rooms. Old building so no double glazing, expect street noise like most hotels in the area.
good location but would not stay there again
dirty carpet- lime and calcium deposits on shower door (did not use it because of this)-very little room to manouver because of oversized table and beds- no microwave or toaster- however staff was very helpful, polite and forthcoming
Please change the mattress to become better!
Everything was amazing...but only one thing let this hotel down which meant unfortunately I would not return. The mattress was far too firm! I had to sleep on top of the duvet to find any sort of comfort; and with a weekend of heavy activities the lack of sleep did not help. Please, please change the mattresses as this is the only thing letting your lovely hotel down but is a massive thing!
Washroom was incredibly small, very difficult to use and I'm 5 ft 2.
Condition of from should improve
Bad: the condition of the room, the bed roughness, not clear no bed sheets, not clean bed cover sheets. No heat system, broken pices, smell of the room is not good, bathroom so small, loud noise drom top floor of people cleaning.
Not sure what they meant by "city view"
It was fine and similar to many other properties in the area. You get what you pay for and the price wasn't much. Room was clean and everything worked. My only concern was that it was priced a bit higher than other properties I have stayed at and I chose it because it was listed as a "city view" room and had a picture of a balcony. I assumed the room had a balcony. It didn't. The only balcony was over the front door and the view was of the street. Felt like false advertising to me.
Lift useful for bags however toileteries lacking
The neighbourhood n close access to tube Bayswater were good pluses however toileteries were limited to handwash n liquid soap n towels with no others.
Nice hotel in a good location
The hotel rooms are small but staff keep them clean. The staff are mostly friendly but aren't going to go to far out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is in a good location, near tube and bus stations. Many restaurants and stores nearby. My only real complaint is the beds are hard, not just firm, uncomfortably HARD.
Great neighborhood, lovely staff, quirky room
. We arrived a bit early so had to wait, but were treated very well by the staff. Hotel has an elevator, so that's a plus. The room itself was definitely quirky. A large glass table and chairs in the kitchen side of the room, with a small fridge, microwave, 2 burners, and a sink with everything you'd need to do a bit of cooking. The other half of the room had a king-sized bed squished into an alcove just large enough for the bed--maybe six inches on one side and at the foot of the bed; impossible to get in and out except on the one side; you need to be fit! And the bathroom was diminutive at best; needed to turn sideways to squeeze between the sink and the toilet (and we're not big people). Someone of substantial girth wouldn't be able to do it. The shower was a tad easier to get into and not a bad size with plenty of hot water and good pressure. The bed was very comfortable, too, except for sheets that didn't quite fit the extra-deep mattress and tended to pull untucked during the night. They did try to fix that, which we appreciate, but if the sheets are the wrong size there's not much you can do! We'd go back, but would ask for a different room.
Weekend get away
Nice hotel close to amenities Room and especially bathroom was small But functional and clean
Comfortable bed
Easy hotel to get to room was very small with tiny awkward shower but room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were in basement so not keen on that but hotel was fine for a short affordable stay
Quiet, safe, and walkable
The Royale Chulan at Hyde Park was lovely! It was quiet, but within walking distance to great eateries. We actually walked to Trafalgar Square from The Royale Chulan. The room was clean and spacious. Though the bathroom was small, it was clean and the shower was hot. Overall, wonderful stay!
Rooms were clean and efficiently sized. Front desk staff welcoming and accommodating. Walkable from public transportation. Would recommend to friends and family.
nice hotel
Our stay at the Hyde park hotel was very good stayed in room 202 luxury room, bed very very comfortable and would recommend to anyone :-)
Cute little room awesome stay
Awesome hotel, room was cute with hot plate, fridge, AC was amazing worked great. The front desk staff could not be beat. Alex at night was awesome helping us find food places and offered to call to order it for us. The gentlemen when we first booked in gave us an umbrella when it was raining and the female was so kind. My only complaint was the guy at the desk when we left Wednesday June 28th afternoon, I talked to him and he didn't even look up and acknowledge I was there or speaking until I was out the door. Other than that it was perfect!
Good location and attentive front desk receptionis
Good location with very helpful and attentive font desk, Anna and Gina etc, thanks for the of luggage storage and room arrangements. Appreciate that!
A reasonable, clean hotel with rooms containing cooking facilities and a good size fridge. Breakfast option very limited.
Dungeon with a twist
Pretty average place. Looks nice on the outside and reception is nice. We received our key promptly and told we were downstairs. It turns out downstairs meant a dungeon as the floor was soaking wet and it smelt as though a cat had died in there. I decided to take matters into my own hands and attempted to dry the floor with my hairdryer which set off the heat sensor. After realising this, I went upstairs to reception to find that no one was there and the hotel had either been evacuated or staff were just busy. I decided to give it 10 minutes to see if anyone was going to come and rescue me from the potential inferno in my room. I then went to complain again about the floor where the staff accused me of causing the wet floor through using the hairdryer. Luckily, after much complaining however, we were given an upgraded room which, was nice although the bed was like lying on plywood. Overall, not the best but not the worst. Also, Anthony Joshua won so what does it matter.
Carpet was quite stained and walls were so thin I woke up to the sound of the door from the other room in front of mine being knocked on.
Rooms where a little bit too small, no facilities to wash your cups or keep any surfaces clean. No small towel to dry cups etc. and the Air conditioner was not working also the room key was inoperative.Apart from that everything was okay. Personally i would not stay there again.
Great location
Hotel was in a great location. However, our electronic key did not work so we had to have an normal key. The bed was amazing and I was looking forward to a good sleep - however, the room was so hot and we tried the air conditioning and my husband was told around 11.30pm that it was broken and someone would look at it in the morning, so we had to sleep with the window open as it was so hot. Obviously with the window open, we had a LOT of road noise including a pneumatic drill at around 1am! I was running the London Marathon the next day so did not have an amazing sleep.
It was a pleasant stay and actually exceeded my expectations. I will definitely consider staying there again. It is a great value for the money and there is a great Pub called the Redan a few blocks away and lots of other places for beer or food.
The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. I would recommend this place to stay if you're looking for somewhere in the Hyde Park area. Only thing that was a bit of a downer was that you can hear your neighbours because the walls were thin and that the floor was a little dusty but overall a very enjoyable stay. I'd come back again.
Not bad
Good overall experience, location, staff wise. Room - the beds were comfortable, and the room was about right for 2 people except for the toilet/shower room. It was really small.
Economical hotel with good location and kitchenett
Close to Hyde Park and tube stations in quiet neighborhood. We wanted a room with 2 twin beds, refrigerator, and microwave. Had to ask for the microwave and hair dryer, but they were brought immediately. The bathroom was incredibly small, but all in working order. Excellent price. Ratings comparable to what you would expect for a budget rate, so we got exactly what we expected. The room was very warm and temperature in individual rooms cannot be controlled. The whole building is on one central thermostat.
Affordable hotel
Excellent location, not far ftom bayswater station.
We select the cheapest room.
We booked the cheapest room. The bathroom is so small the door has to be left open when using the handbasin. Using the toilet was good if you are into yoga. The air conditioning thermostat was broken by frustrated former guests and stuck at 30 Deg C. So we slept with the window open. The curtain was torn and dirty, and the curtain rail broken. The room might have been less claustrophobic if the bed were designed on stilts so visitors had more floor space. When one of us wanted to dress the other had to sit on the bed against the window! Lots of banging elbows. Despite these disappointments the location and relative peace the hotel offered was very enjoyable. Not a great experienced, but then we did choose a cheaper room. You get what you pay for I suppose.
Air conditioning was switched off before autumn
