Wonderful place so quiet and peaceful

We enjoyed our one night with Peter. Guests should be aware that though this is listed as a B&B the breakfast is a self service continental. Don’t expect to be served a hearty bacon and eggs. Still enjoyed our stay by the ocean.

A beautiful property in a great location. Very quiet, nicely decorated and a self serve breakfast was available. The gardens were stunning. My only negative is the room could do with the removal of the spiders in the corners.

Lovely and very laid back b&b in a great spot. You are treated as one of the family and the door is always unlocked. We left a shirt in the room when we left and Sarah posted it to us without any trouble. Can highly recommend

Quaint B&B in a remarkable location. The view from the B&B is simply spectacular, walking distance to the seal colony (do not miss the hike), the town is nearby with plenty of eating venues. Pete was very hospitable, and even arranged dinner reservations for us. Clean, comfortable bed. Breakfast was self-serve continental.

Great Location at The Point

Pete is a fantastic host, beautiful view from my room. Although it's a working farm, the room was spotless as is the house. Really nice spread for breakfast. Easy walk to see the Seals at The Point & equidistant to Kaikoura Seafood BBQ, as well.

Extra ordinary house from the nineteenth century, very warm welcome from the owner, bit far from the centre but if you have car is recommended

Fabulous setting, wonderful old house.

Beautiful old homestead with amazing sea views and morning sun. Hens on site for eggs and sheep to watch. Comfotable bed and excellent breakfast. Good value for money. Lots to do in Kaikoura so stay at least 2 nights.

Simply Superb

Wow! Absolutely amazing stay. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with such warming genine hospitality. Our room was just perfect and to be made to feel so welcome just topped our stay. The homely feeling and views were simply superb! Sadly reality kicked back in and we had to leave. A real piece ofstunning paradise

I actually liked the location which offered a wonderful view of the ocean from my bedroom window. The room was small but cozy; the owner was friendly and warm. I never got the TV in the room to work properly but this was a minor concern, as I didn't visit such a beautiful town to watch TV! I slept very well, as I was able to keep my windows open at night and could hear the ocean. I would definitely stay here again!

To the Point!

Lovely place to stay, close to shoreline and fantastic views of the Seaward Kaikouras. Super nice Peter (Pat) was our host, and made us feel very welcome. Booked restaurant for us and drove us there too. We had garden room with views of flowering roses, with characterful spacious bathroom, would recommend.

The host, Peter, was welcoming and the large house is charming with a magnificent view.

We did not see anyone at the property apart from a brief conversation with the owner after his "day out" in Christchurch. I understand the owner was recently bereaved (6mths ago)but if you are going to run a business employ someone to deal with reception etc. Unsettling stay.

A hidden gem.

We were disappointed we had only booked one night stay. A beautiful place to stay. A small farm with farm animals and seals just across the road. Breakfast and accommodation was perfect. Could not fault. A short distance to a lovely old hotel on the beach. The hotel served excellent meals.

Nice farmhouse B&B

Nice location a little outside the town. Comfy bed, nice ensuite, and great breakfast (homemade preserves!). Nice morning views of the ocean and mountains.

Nice view of the bay. Although we checked in at 2 pm I didn't feel like the property was ready for us. There were no towels (which we requested and were brought), we were never given a key to our room, never told the wifi code and never told to come in for breakfast.

The Point is a lovely homestay with a great view over the ocean. It is on a quiet road close to the seal colony but only a few minutes drive from Kaikoura township. Gwenda was very welcoming and may our stay comfortable.

only stayed one night but was made feel very comfortable by hosts. Breakfast was great and location fabulous

Unwelcome at the Inn

Did not feel very welcome and felt like we were intruding in somebody's home. Family and friends were entertained into the evening while we were trying to relax in our room, which did not even have a privacy lock. Also bring your own soap as none is provided.

Fabulous location

Wish we had stayed longer, they do a sheep shearing demo daily, the view from the porch is so relaxing, and the garden is lovely.

The room was comfortable and clean. We didn't feel particularly welcomed which made us feel uncomfortable. The breakfast was adequate.

Cosy B&B right by the ocean

The host took care of us during our short stay - made reservation for our dinner, gave us the advice of direction as Hwy 1 was closed, made us warm breakfast, let us feed their sheep babies. Hope we can stay a bit longer at this B&B!

Beautiful surf views from the porch

This is a beautiful house with history with wraparound porches, established gardens, and an amazing view from the porch. One of the owners grew up here when her parents ran a sheep farm. Now, the owners keep a few hundred sheep for an interesting twice daily sheep shearing show.
