We had great stay
Short Holiday to Malacca
I always stay in The Pines wherever I visit Malacca. I like the quiet location and also walking distance to nearby attractions. Reception is friendly. Clean room and ample parking space.
Great room
The 2 bedroom unit was nice but as soon as we entered the room there was an issue with one of the toilets. We called maintenance and even though they came to look at the problem they never resolved it. After returning from being out all day we had to call maintenance again to fix the issue once and for all. The biggest issue was that the air con stopped working during the night which made it unbearable to have a good night sleep. The entire apartment was warm until around 6:30am. We attempted to rectify this but the panels were not working. The breakfast was of poor quality. More suited to a 2 star hotel. The ladies at reception were nice and offered good service and as mentioned before the apartment was very nice.
The safe had no battery in 1 of our rooms. After informing front desk, it was still not repaired. Another room, the hot water was not working but after repair, the technician left the toilet all wet instead of cleaning it up
Staff and services are excellent. Would come Back again
Can you sort out the breakfast food temperature.
Good. The front desk would benefit from some extra training. Overall it was reasonable. There was a funny smell in the gym. The breakfast hot plates only had one burner under two trays so naturally my breakfast was like warm at best 3 days on the run. I even told them in day two so they had the opportunity to rectify this and chose not too. Instead I had to get the chef to warm my food in the microwave.
shopping and food very convenient
Clean, friendly staff, adequate parking. However, wifi is slow
Decent hotel
Love the hotel view of the Malacca River both during the day and night. We definitely enjoyed our one night at the hotel. Wish could extend longer ♥️
One of our rooms had chewing gum on the wall of the washroom. The other room, housekeeping did not replenish the body soup
Spacious room but non-working phone in room caused inconvenience to call to front desk for assistance
I was expecting better standard with the hotel, but it turned out to be a disappointment. The staffs were friendly, and the room is spacious. However the room that we stayed in had a broken shower head, and the cleanliness was below expectations. The toilet bowl seat cover was broken as well. The breakfast was just normal, with little variety. Overall I would say it is just normal.

Rooms are spacious and affordable, worth the money.
Location is perfect. 1km walk to prime locations. Breakfast was satisfying l. Staff was friendly. Hotel cleanliness is well maintained. Rooms are huge and spacious.
Value for money & convenient
Short Weekend Getaway
It was our second time staying at this hotel.Stayed again this round cos all the good food places are within walkable distances.highly the bulldog, a reservation only dine in for lunch and dinner.supwrber food and reasonable prices.the hotel room was a tad disappointing.booked with bathtub but unable to use as it was tilted at one side and water can't drain away.left message at the front desk to get it fixed while we are out.after so many hours, we returned to our room only to find out nothing was done.called front desk again, and they gave all sort of excuse.finally a technician came to fix but we lost the mood to use it already.the breakfast was the same for the three mornings we stayed.thumbs down all the way and limited variety.overall a let down stay this time.avoid booking rooms with bathtub cos all not in good condition and the service was lacklustre.book at your own risk.
The Pines Hotel Review
I had a wonderful stay at the pines hotel. Check-in was a breeze even though we came early and our room view at the 20th floor was quite nice especially at night. The breakfast spread was not too bad either and there were quite a good and varied spread. I did not get to try the swimming pool but it looked awesome too! I personally found the location of the hotel to be excellent but for those who prefer to be near shopping areas or malls, the hatten hotel might suit them better. Overall, I will definitely stay here again.
Spacious Room
Overall it was an excellent experience but a few things should not have happened in a good hotel: The bedsheets were visibly dirty despite the request to ensure clean bedsheets during booking. During check-in, there were about 6 front desk staff, and neither of them made eye contact or addressed me, even though there were no other customers. All staff continued to talk to each other, I (the only customer at that time) had to wait at the counter for a minute or 2, for them to finish talking to each other and assist me with check-in.
I like the big rooms with sofa bed and table with the 2 chairs if we choose to dine in the room
Great
Nil
Can hear prayer sessions every morning which woke me up for two days in a row. Bath towels don’t look exactly white and clean - as if not bleached and not washed well enough. Toilet is super small even tho room was big. Not very near to eating places.
Booked 3 rooms. The rooms are really clean and nice interior design. This is the 2nd time we came back to this hotel. One thing that could be better is the buffet breakfast, the selections could be more and I prefer grind coffee instead if instant coffee.
The view from the room was nice and the room was clean. Will definitely stay again!
New facilities and clean. Nice view and easy access to river walk. breakfast varieties are quite limited but ok. Just the scramble egg quality are poor, more likely to watery scrambled egg...hope to buck up
Nice location
strategically location
Big rooms at affordable prices
Nice and big for the value
everything needs improvement
front desk staff need to improve their CS, I was the one to greet her good afternoon. housekeeping also need improvements, i left my room from 2pm to 8pm with the make up room sign on, but my room was not made up. had to call front desk twice before housekeeping staff came. the condition of the rooms need upgrading too. on a positive side, the aircon was strong and we had good sleep on the very comfy bed. with the service i received during my 4 nights stay, i think i will opt for no frills greystone suites in future.
The staff is very helpful What we dun like is the tv signal is bad.
Na
很好,地点方便
Carpark too quiet
Clean room and friendly staff. The carpark though within the hotel site was too quiet and gives people the feeling of being unsafe, especially with the signage “ park at your own risk”. Suggest the hotel can consider stationing a security guard at the entrance. Otherwise, the stay was satisfactory and value for money,
Very clean room
Great size rooms with good views of Melaka
Good sized rooms with great room. Has a lot of potential but really needs modernising. King size bed was short compared to others I’m 177cm and my heals were on the edge. Staff were helpful and maintenance carried out quickly when requested.
Spacious room with sofa bed can accommodate 4 of us.
Overall the hotel room is good and comfortable. Only the breakfast (no much choice and even egg selection also limited) and restaurant staff service need to improve too.
Staff was very friendly. Free sheltered parking during my stay.
Not bad stay
Room is quite run-down and limited breakfast choice, compare to my 1st stay before covid period.15mins walk to jonkers street is a plus and staffs is friendly.
Good service, friendly staff
Excellent room and view
Spacious and well designed room (we stayed in the executive room). Marvelous views of the river. Good location. Secure car-park.
Nice room, nice staff, terrible wifi, average BF
The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The wifi is really awful and the tv signal goes off frequently. The room has a really old tv so the resolution quality is below average. There is a sort of kitchenette but it is for show as the drawers are empty (no cutlery or plates or glasses or anything). The notice about charges for bedsheets perhaps reveal how these things go missing often! Breakfast in Melaka hotels is usually just commercial and lacks soul.. so you have the standard nasi lemak, Chinese style rice porridge, scrambled eggs baked beans and canned chicken frankfurters, canned fruit-flavoured drink (not juice) and coffee and tea that tastes like it was made from instant powder. Reception, restaurant and housekeeping teams are all super friendly except for one hopeless night duty staff (who gave me wrong information while doing his work and barely looking at me).
Adequate parking and walkable distance to some eating places. Nearby 7-11 is very convenient
Short 2 days vacation trip
Our first trip since the pandemic and reopening of the borders. Overall it was a good stay but found it strange that they were not able to do an upgrade to a king bed for our room nor extend a late checkout time. There were hardly more than 10 tables occupied during breakfast time for both days. Is the hotel booking really so hot in demand. Extremely quiet too, and the carpark was occupied only on the first floor while the second was empty with two cars only plus ours.Visited the nearby teh Shore Mall....virtually a dead mall. Visited Jonker street, not crowded at all. Visited a chicken rice stall...empty of patrons...Strongly believe that the hotel is operating only at 25% capacity and shortage of staff. Called reception to have maintainance to check on a leaking bidet spray in the toilet and the guy said it was excess water and the toilet bowl system is somewhat faulty too...in need of repairs too.
Average hotel
It was just alright. Breakfast was a big disappointment. Only coffee available were pre-made white Hainanese coffee! Choice of food very limited.
It was a really good stay in this Hotel, everything is good and we really like the big bathtub. I was in rushed to checkout and forgot to request for the payment receipt, but thanks to the quick response and help from their team especially the Front Office Manager Mr Chow to email me the payment receipt. Keep up the good work guys!
Not bad
Nice hotel to stay and reasonable price paid. The rooms are clean and had a nice view too. Breakfast was packed food and tasty too. Location was relaxing. Staff are friendly and welcoming with big smile.
Call room service
very happy with the cleanliness. especially the details in the bathroom. comfortable.
Great place, but don't order the breakfast.
great hotel
Recommended!
Hotel room was clean and comfy… however, the gym was closed when I was there :( Quite a distance from Jonker Street, but it’s walkable.. Overall, recommended!
Everything was great just the waiting time for the lift is damn long. Room is very spacious and the breakfast is nice
beautiful room, worth the money, comfortable and new !
There Are Always Room For Improvement
Staffs are not warm. Need improvement on this - esp brader jaga pool tu. Stress manjang. The bed mattress are killing us. We had back and neck pain for 3 days already. Not sure which 5 stars bedding that they have upgraded to. Location... room space... always the reasons why we choose the hotel.
Short Family trip 2021
It was a pleasant stay in The Pines Melaka!
Informative and friendly staff
I like the services and spacious rooms i love it, the vibes and I really love this hotel. Highly recommended.
Feel comfortable. Clean.. enjoy time and relax there
Will definitely come back again!
Everythings is good.
Beautiful hotel. Setback is, front desk seldom picks up calls
Very nice hotel for vacation and business trip. Tidy room and stylish bathroom design
It was so good and comfortable
No humanity
It isnmy false to book wrongly which is yesterday but suppose to check in today. The manager never feel sympathy and offer me walk in full rate which is RM152 but i check online price is rm131 so i decide to book online which is cheaper.... you know what is front desk told me "if you book online now , you need to wait another 30 min for confirmation " now already 10pm at night ... can't they just abit flexible ...
Electric water jug in room was smelling of instant noodles. Could hear noise from next room. Hair dryer was broken. When I asked housekeeping for a replacement, it was replaced with another faulty hair dryer which did not work also. Nice spacious room and nice room decor.
It was good. Nice and spacious room.
strategic located but need improvement
hotel is located in centre of melaka with river cruise and chinese restaurant nearby.. However much improvement needed to improve the standard. When i checked to my room at 26th floor, all the toiletries were not provided. It was after 4th request only i got my stuffs. The floor was not properly cleaned... Apart from that, the hot and cold water was not functioning well
ROOM SMELLY BCOZ TOILET NO FLUSH
Dissapointed with the toilet..it's not been clean properly..when we enter the room is smell terrible and u know why "the toilet is not flushed" inspite of the cleaner told us that they already clean it😡
It so nice plus with a good view from the upper level and the room was so comfortable.
Maintenance/refurbished needed
Maintenance for the room is needed. The bed and sofa is getting old. The towel has used for many years, should replace. As I visits during weekend, the lift was crowded, always need to wait for quite some time...
Un responsibility for Manager and Receptionist
This is my third times stay in The Pines Melaka in third year. I choose this hotel is because here the room is pool side suites. I getting more disappointed forbthis time staying here because of the facilities for room and swimming pool gate didnt maintenence with proper Yr 2018 and 2019 I book two room for me and my family member, but room for 07-11 is smelly, after complainted when checked in on that 2 years but no action taken This year I come again, during check in I talk to the receptionist a Malay guy (a bit fat) that I dont want stay in 07-11, so he arranged me stay in 07-16. But same thing happen, when I open the room door, whole room was very smelly, then I call to operator, front office and also housekeeping dept abt 5times, no body pick up my phone. So I go down to receptionist and talk to the Malay guy for this issue, he told me room is full cant exchange and ask me back room wait housekeeping to come. The behaviour like worried me made teouble there, only want to push me back to room and wait. I wait for 2hrs in the smelly room but no ppl come, i call again to the 3 dept, same no ppl pick up my phone and I have to go down and complaint again. The Malay guy same pattern push me back to room and wait the housekeeper come. This time the housekeeper come with spray, I ask the housekeeper did he know what the issue for the room, He answer me he known the smelly issue. So I rejected him to spray the air freshener and request his manager come to me but no shown 😕
Huge room suitable for family with 3 kids. The main reason re-choose this hotel because of wide variety of breakfast. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, no more buffet for breakfast. Really miss it.
3 star is too much
Housekeeping poor. Items used not replenish. Check in wait for about 20min due to not enough front desk staff. Breakfast limited..do not have a proper menu. Only offers local or american breakfast. No further elaboration given. Poor service at restaurant
Cleanliness and covered parking availability. Breakfast keen for improvement.
So so~
Breakfast were soso Room key card keep not function and stayed 26th floor, everytime when i went out and back need go back to reception check the card again Room condition soso and overall were dirty and stain can found around
Room very comfortable and nice
Great quality and service at the very reasonable price. Much better than expectation. Would love to recommend to friends and revisit one day.
flat pillow
it was all good, except the pillows needs replacement urgently. the pillow is almost flat, only suitable for very narrow shoulders such as young children. other than the pillow, the is a nice hotel
Breakfast buffet
Need to improve on the breakfast spread.
Excellent view. Very spacious. Great layout. Nice pool! Bedsheets were dirty. Housekeeping changed it after feedback, but they did not have the right size of bedsheets. The bed was King size, but they only had Queen size linen left. 2x Aircon panel were spoilt. Had to feedback to Maintenance to replace it. Lock of sliding door to balcony broken. Maintenance had to come fix it. No fridge. Only a chiller that goes to 8 degree Celsius. There is a kitchen area but no plates, forks & spoons. While they managed to somewhat fix the issues, it is disappointing to know that there wasn't a proper check in place before letting guest enter the premises.
Very poorly managed and I think it is due to the owner or the management problem. Lifts were not working , check in cards were not working twice, hot water was not working, I over paid and they kept quiet about it, I wanted to upgrade and the staff didn’t bother to check. Conditions of the hotel is poor and dimly lit.
Nice hotel
From Good to Worse.
This is always our 1st choice hotel when travelling back to melacca for pass few years, and i have given a good review on this hotel before, but after this last stay i would say NO..not recomended at all.
The room was dirty. Bed sheets was not changed and it smell...so disgusting. I couldn’t sleep properly the whole nite. The toilet also smell, the room was practically not clean and they just sell to customer. The buffet breakfast was okay only. Will not come back ever, first and last!
Nicerrr!!!
So comfortable, as my 1st time being solo travel, staying at studio suit was an incredible experience. Tq to team members who involved in my 1 night stay at your property.
Front office staff not informative and very unfriendly. Clealiness housekeeper using used bath towel to clean up the toilet and pantry sinks.Table not been wipe. Corridor passage not been vaccum for 2 days . Litters found along the corridors
Please see my feedback for improvement
Checked in took 1 hour. Should consider to have additional staff during school holiday. The same staff to handle check in and solving other customer problem which lead to delay for check in at counter. Every 5-10 mins got customer complained about failure to use the access card to open room’s door. Cleanliness was very bad. Balcony full with food wastage. Bath tub very oily and full with hairs. Breakfast was taking long que to wait due to high occupancy. Fast respond to see with additional staffs came to help in cleaning table. Good impression on bed condition which was very comfortable. Location is very strategic and convenient. Attractive design and well maintained for swimming pool.
Slow check-in during peak hour and poor crowd management for breakfast. Rooms are poorly maintained (leaks, peeling wallpapers, worn towels to name a few) and housekeeping is not consistent in replenishing towels, drinking water etc. Hotel's management are however quick in responding to change our room due to heavy damp smell of the initial room assigned. Kudos to the manager on duty.
The check in experience is poor as it took more than half an hour where I believes the hotel has not ready for high occupancy situation! The breakfast line up is even worst for those who came late and the chairs are touching each other. The most worst experience is dealing with the foreign worker who look after the pool side where he informed me each room only allow for 2 towels while there is no notice at pool side and I asked him why they are someone taken 4 towels as recorded on the book, his answer is he is not around...when I asked housekeeping why there is not slipper available, her reply is it will be given when stock available!!!!
The thing i loved the most is the lift!no need to wait for long time.. Just have to improved the ambience/size of the lobby..especially when the peak season occurs
Extremely dirty. Sheets smelt of sweat; red stains on bedsheets and lots of hairs on the pillowcases I.e bed sheets and must not have been changed/cleaned. We booked two rooms upon Wotif labelling them as Family Friendly, however given the lack of cleanliness I would strongly suggest families with kids should consider avoiding the Pines Melaka for hygiene reasons alone. Corridors and walkways had very strong bad odours; one room did not have towels; requested fresh towels were left on the floor outside the room; towels had dark stains and smelt; rooms were dusty; Showers were mouldy. After speaking to several staffs, the verdict was due to cost pressures and work overload Quality (and Hygiene) was being compromised regularly. The staff were apologetic. We were appalled by these conditions and decided to get out immediately and check into a nearby hotel.
Wong
Complimentary show ticket and it was perfect arrangement and vacation for my parents. Like it a lot
very spacious room, clean, friendly staffs, nice river view, comfort, good location
Recommended hotel in Malacca
Excellent for family staying. Definitely my first choice in Malacca.
I recently stayed at The Pines Melaka for 4 days and 3 nights. The hotel is conveniently located just a short drive to and from Jonker Street, making it easy to explore the area. We stayed on the 27th floor, and our room offered a beautiful view. However, we were woken up at 5/6 am each morning by the loud chanting from the nearby mosque, which was quite disruptive. The bathroom in our room was very spacious and included a bathtub, which was a nice touch. Although the room was decent, it wasn't the cleanest for a 4-star hotel. Nevertheless, all the basic necessities were provided and free parking available.
