I stayed at the Oyster Inn for 2 nights in room 3 and enjoyed my stay, I was a bit confused with checking in but that was probably lack of sleep on my part. I was allowed to leave my luggage inside by the reception whilst I went and had lunch. The room and bathroom were both clean, there were complimentary snacks for guests which not a lot of places provide. It was very quiet at night and I was comfortable. The only issue was the blaring sound coming from I don’t know where on my first night but I don’t think the Inn could really do anything about that. The staff were lovely Overall, I enjoyed my short stay and I recommend the Oyster Inn! I also heard from a family member and family friend that the food and drinks at the connected restaurant were great so will definitely have to try that next time! Would book here again :)))
Wonderful stay
loved our stay - super friendly service - amazing food and great room !! thank you to the wonderful room fairies who cleaned and tidied.
Ideal place to stay
Food was great, staff friendly and helpful. Location brilliant 5 mins from a beautiful sandy beach - a walk there highly recommended before breakfast.
Was a great location and the room was very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful island, nice wines!
We had a wonderful stay at The Oyster inn, from the very start when we were met by the wonderful Stefi at the reception desk till we left the day after. The room was nice and clean, quiet at night (I slept like a baby for 7 hours...) and with a nice bathroom. Waiheke itself was as nice as we had hoped. Beautiful surroundings, a lovely beach (we took a morning swim, a bit chilly at around 15 Celcius...), easy to take the local bus to the wineries at Onetangi Rd. Wish we had stayed one more day... We visited the Stonyridge, Te Motu, Tantalus, Man O'War and Mudbrick wineries.
Very clean, shower was excellent, bed was comfortable !
We found the room very clean. They had gone the extra mile with lovely bathrobes complimentary basket of chips, fruit and chocolates.Staff very friendly. Meal at restaurant exceptional with a lovely chef cooked breakfast included in the price next morning. We will be back.Thank you.Pauline & Kevin
Oyster Inn
Room was clean and beautiful! Love the special touches and treats! Dinner was also amazing!
We had a great time. Room was lovely, bed was so comfortable, and breakfast was fab! Wish we could have stayed longer!
Central Oneroa. Great dining option in house and near by.
Couldn't have asked for a better location. So many great eateries within a short distance, so it didnt matter that the Oyster Inn Restaurant itself was shut on Tuesday. Really liked the room. Spacios and bright with a small balcony and the bathroom was huge. Had a noise free night on a comfortable bed and slept well. Highly recommend the community cinema, which is just a short walk from the accomodation, and Nomads for breakfast, even closer. Would recommend for a shirt stay. Probably the only improvement would be a bin in the bedroom area for the tea/coffee station etc. Apart from that, the room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay, albeit basic, as the location and convenience boost the rating.
Outstanding, great food, clean, comfortable, v helpful staff
the staff at the oyster inn were lovely, steffi was amazing, nothing was too much trouble for her, it was our anniversary when we stayed, and she made it memorable, also the food was fantastic, we will be back.
Oyster Inn completely exceeded our expectations
We booked for two nights for a girls trip away. The hotel room was lovely and a great size for what we needed. The extra details - bathrobes, aesop shampoo & soap and complimentary snacks in our room made the trip. The restaurant had great food and we were even able to take dessert back to our room one night. The breakfast which was included in our stay was excellent and had a great choice of options for food as well as tea and coffee. We were able to easily walk to the beach as well as a decent walk to some local wineries. The local buses were easy to use using our AT Hop Card, getting us directly to the hotel from the Ferry and also on to other parts of the island. We will be back!
This property although small was best part of my trip to Auckland/Waiheke island. Hotel staff, food and beverages were great. Short walk to beach and 15-20 mins to wineries! I’ll be back in June! Robert-from Texas
Very quaint place, cozy room, warm staff, loved everything about it. As the restaurant at premise is now closing on T&W they offered me breakfast at the next door restaurant. And, it was delicious. The Aesop products in the bathroom made me gasp for a hot minute!
Great place to stay
Very well located and breakfast excellent. Rooms starting to look tired and didn't feel like they were cleaned properly. I don’t think our bedsheets were changed during the 5 nights we stayed which is what you expect for $500 a night.
Very quiet and convenient for a Monday night getaway. Room was spacious and very well appointed. Dinner in the restraunt was delicious - only wish we been able to stay for breakfast, but work on the mainland was calling ....
Enjoyed our stay would return
Lovely place to stay
Steffi was a fabulous host. Great location, right in the centre of town. Breakfast was so delicious. Highly recommend,
It was nice, friendly staff, central with nice breakfast though was smaller portions on Monday. Usual quiet but check their planned events before booking. Surrounded by restaurants and nice shops. Handy to bus stops so touring the island is easy and cheap.
Fantastic staff. Couldn’t have a better location. Breakfast was 10/10! Lovely, relaxing room.
Friendly staff and great location.
The Oyster Inn is a lovely boutique place to stay, the room was very tidy, with excellent amenities and snacks. The Oyster Restaurant right next door is possibly the best on the island and is absolutely worth a try. The breakfast menu was very generous and delicious with a nice view over the harbour.
Being in the centre of the village is so convenient as are the dining facilities.Meal was delicious, room real cute, clean and tidy.We could not fault our stay at Oyster Inn.Well done.
We had a lovely stay for 2 nights at The Oyster Inn. Perfect location in the heart of Oneroa with an easy stroll to everything. The room was well-equipped and the bed very comfortable. Delicious breakfast included in the price. Remember mosquito repellent for this time of year, as we were feasted on in the night!
Fantastic
We had an amazing two night stay. Wonderful staff, beautiful and comfortable room and great location.
Great getaway on Waiheke
It was great to stay at the Oyster Inn. The rooms are very secure, spacious, clean, and well equipped with refreshments and snacks. The breakfast is wonderful.
The accommodation was excellent. The meal was disappointing.
Accommodation is excellent, its the staff that really makes the place.
Very friendly staff, nice clean rooms and the restaurant was fantastic!
Very warm and kind staff, very central to the best shops on Waiheke. We ate there and our meals were amazing, breakfast was timely and we were blessed with the most amazing morning sea view.
I stayed here with my Mum in March just before the Covid-19 lockdown. The location was amazing, the accommodation and breakfast were brilliant. But above all the staff were so wonderful - in particular Helen had so much time for us and even called her personal taxi driver for us to get us down to the ferry on time (after we spent too long shopping and nearly missed the ferry!) Also the girl on reception who also served us at breakfast was charming. I can't rate The Oyster Inn highly enough and hope everyone can support them once restrictions are lifted.
It was a beautiful setting in the middle of town with two great views of each harbor. The staff was so attentive and the food was amazing. Couldn't ask for a better stay
Hotel has a great location, and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed having dinner at the restaurant onsite, and we liked that we could walk to wineries from this hotel
Absolutely amazing stay in this wonderful facility, highly recommend however we weren’t picked up at the ferry as organised on arrival, I messaged the accommodation more than 24 hours before arrival like requested and to try and phone them as well as messaging proved frustrating. This ended in an expensive taxi ride to the accommodation which we hadn’t planned on and wasn’t a good start to anniversary celebrations. Sugar, coffee sachets were not refilled until we asked and our dishes were not cleaned one day and simply taken away the next and not replaced... Staff were exceptional to deal with and everything else made for a lovely stay.
Nice Stay
Great location in town, great staff at Restaurant and the Breakfast just delicious!
Charming hotel with a relaxed, beachy vibe. Loved it.
The rooms are needing some maintenance. Paying alot. Very difficult getting confirmation by phone. Exellent position.
The staff at The Oyster Inn bent over backwards for us. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you so much! Shane and Kim
Cute hotel!
This hotel is so cute! There are only 3 rooms and lots of small, adorable details throughout the restaurant and rooms. There is no assigned hotel parking during the day, just a public lot that you can only stay in for 4 hours. We stayed in the winter so there was still street parking for us, but I imagine parking may be an issue in the summer. Great location as others have said. Comfy room, good WiFi, good breakfast, yummy smelling toiletries! Loved this place. There was also a rainfall shower head, which I know a lot of other people like but my husband and I decided we feel like we are drowning in it. Lol.
Fantastic location made even easier with ferry terminal transfers to and from, extremely comfortable bed, wonderful Aesop products, the iron made my husband happy to prep his suit for the wedding we were attending. Fabulous breakfast the next morning. Thank you Rebecca and her team for making up feel so welcome.
Loved everything about this accommodation! Great staff, friendly and helpful, clean and tidy rooms!
A must stay while on Waiheke Island
Great small Inn in the middle of the town. Walking distance to many beaches. Amazing food. Friendly and fun staff!
Great if you are not needing 100% attention
I emailed the Inn of when I would arrive by ferry for a ride- no show. Took over an hour for things to get resolved. Miscommunication between taxi & Inn - Why didn't I call? I called numerous times but no one answered at the Inn. Not a way to start off the vacation. Besides that and running out of water for a brief moment it was great. That is, if you are not high maintenance. If you require someone to always be avail without a wait then this is not your place. Im not saying this to be rude. I do know some people expect attention 100%, if you are more relaxed and on island time its awesome. Food was outstanding. Friendly staff. Rooms clean and pleasant. Location is right in the middle of everything you need.
Not worth $500
I was pretty disappointed with the Oyster Inn. We paid over $500 for 1 night there and felt that the room was incredibly basic and CERTAINLY not worth $500. Everything was clean and tidy as you would expect, but I just felt it should have been far more luxury for the price it was.
Fabulous staff, beautiful food, lovely rooms. Loved it.
Great location, great amenities/food, perfect spot for a short getaway and a longer exploring trip.
Step back in time
A little gem in the heart of the main town! Walking distance to the beach for pure tranqulity !
Lovely hotel!
Close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast, which is included, is delicious and the porch seating is particularly nice on a sunny morning. Dinner is very good too. The room had a small balcony that had a sea view which was a nice touch,
Nice and central to ferry and village. Would go back again for a longer stay.
Wonderful experience! We loved the location and the staff was extremely helpful.
Perfect Escape
Booked night away for 25th Wedding Anniversary (main holiday next week to celebrate) and couldn't have been happier. Made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Room perfect as was food and drink. Will definitely be back again
Terrific breakfast. Location excellent.
Lovely boutique place to stay
Had a lovely stay while over for the Waiheke half marathon. Great location, fabulous welcoming staff, well looked after.
Great place to stay, very accommodating and lovely staff.
Right in the heart of oneroa
Great hosts. Lovely room although rather pricy. Nice and private from restaurant area
Oyster Inn is my new home
They are amazing and so attentive and are always willing to go the extra mile however possible. Before my partner and I even left we were booking to come back because we loved it that much
Delicious food, fantastic staff, room amazing
Arrived and made to feel welcome straight away. Staff happy to accomodate our needs - very attentive. Wow how good is the food, drinks and gorgeous breakfasts - great coffee too.
Convenient accommodations in the middle of town. Probably the only thing that could be awkward is getting your bags from the rear car park up to your room as there is no direct route. Everything else was great.
Great start to the trip. Very friendly staff. Rooms are simple but comfortable and clean. Spectacular view over the beach from the rearaurant balcony.
Very welcoming. Made us feel very much at home.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room, and had everything explained to us. I liked that we could have coffee from the restaurant at anytime, either in our room or in the restaurant or verandah. Breakfast was included, paper delivered each morning, wifi vouchers given and menus for the restaurant.
Lovely Respite
Lovely experience. Warm, welcoming staff that went out of their way to help us with the logistics of our trip. Great meal at the Inn as well and wonderful minimalist, refreshing room.
Great stay
Great stay, right in heart of the cafe/shop are. Right above the Oyster Restaurant that is awesome. Kind of noisy until 10pm. Quiet after that. Volunteer fire alarm next door-it is really loud but only went off once & that was in the afternoon. Staff super accommodating. Need car for further away wineries but we walked to 2. Parking behind inn.
Right there room!
Great, staff is super accommodating!
Nice spacious room & great location .
Friendly staff that go out of their way to ensure your stay is enjoyable , restaurant has excellent food .
Private oasis
Stayed for two nights over anniversary weekend. The hotel was a wee private oasis of calm in a busy town, yet right in the centre of everything.
Best Location, Wonderful Food, Great Staff
The Oyster Inn only has three rooms. Most people don't even know they have rooms, and believe they are just the 'best' restaurant' on Waiheke Island. They are renowned for their amazing food. As a guest of the inn, you receive preferential seating and reservation times. And breakfast is included in your stay - even more amazing food.
In a word: AWESOME!!!!
The Oyster Inn is quaint and beautiful. The staff is attentive, courteous, polite and accommodating. They go above and beyond to make guests feel like VIP!
Great location, walkable to the beach and shops and restaurants. Easy to take the bus around the the wineries. Staff was very accommodating about picking us up and dropping us off at the ferry terminal. The on-site restaurant is amazing!
Perfect beach hotel with great food and location.
Great little beach hotel with a fabulous restaurant attached in a wonderful location right in town.
Great service and facilities
From the offer to pick us up from the ferry, to carrying our bags up from the car, through all service the experience was great
