Property is clean and the staff is great. My wife needed medical attention and the facility did not have a protocol on when a guest gets sick and needs immediate attention. I had to wait for the staff to call a manager and so on. They need to have a doctor on call because the clinics are terrible .

This property was amazing. It was a magical experience that I will never forget. The Vibe was amazing, The Views were amazing, The Rooms were amazing, The Pool was amazing. It's hard to tell whether the property was more beautiful during the daytime or nighttime, The Valet guys were great. I really loved this place, and I can't wait to return.

Staff is super attentive and eager to make your stay memorable. You must get a treatment at their spa…felt like royalty when I got one of the best massages of my life. The snorkeling near the property is anti-climatic, however if you book a excursion to paradise island, the snorkeling is better there.

I’ve been to a lot of great hotels and this is by far the most amazing experience I’ve had. The hotel is unbelievably beautiful especially in the evening. But the best part is how wonderful everyone is. They think of everything and make it happen. The food and drinks are all made with fresh ingredients and it’s all gourmet and delicious. Fantastic Stay!

Fantastic hotel, food and SERVICE! We went for a girl's trip and it was amazing. They had recently lost their beach, thus that is a bit of an issue if you want to easily access the beach. They drive you to one that is 10 minutes away, but we did not go, as the hotel was very nice. The staff is top notch and willing to go the extra mile. I would definitely recommend for a weekend trip.

I was very disappointment since never was told that this hotel does not have the beach anymore , after the hurricane the beach is totally gone , this was very important since it was the main reason to visit this hotel after a 5 hour drive from the capital , On the other hand we had some issues with hot water in the morning , food was average but information from the waitress was not correct we order a Hamburger and ask the waitress if it was big he said no but meat was very big almost 10 oz size not very good cook , did not like it , also another thing was the wanted to charge me $35 dollar just for open a wine in the restaurant and $100 to seat in a pool bed .

Wonderful hotel and staff!

My wife and I stayed there for 6 days and had a wonderful time. Hotel is beautiful, gorgeous infinity pool looking out to the ocean that is steps away. Restaurant is right next to pool overlooking private beach. Quite a large bay and can swim out to reef and snorkel and see lots of colorful fish. Staff are exceptionally professional, courteous and nice. Place is very clean. Also has a gym with beautiful views of the Atlantic ocean. From the hotel you can drive to other beaches, or the jungle, or visit Santiago or the north coast towns and beaches (kite surfing at Cabarete is a treat to see). Temperature was a very constant 25°C min 31-32*C every day (77-92) with rain some nights. Overall, a gorgeous gem of a location and experience!

Very nice hotel

I was treated as a special guest from the minute I came in til the very moment I left. The staff was pleasant, helpful and very professional. Rooms are clean and beautiful. The food is delicious and although this is not an all inclusive hotel, a delicious breakfast is included. They had some beer, water and soft drinks in the fridge that were also included. The beach is great. The pools are clean. I loved it!

Beautiful hotel on the beach

I wish I would've stayed longer. This hotel is beautifully located on Sosua beach. The beach is great for swimming with clear water. The service at the hotel is great. I enjoyed the free breakfast as you can order anything you want from the extensive menu. There were only a few complaints such as the room wifi not working and the lights being out in the entrance of the room making it difficult to unlock the door. When these things were brought to the hotel's staff, everything was done to fix it. I look forward to staying here again.

Truely 5 Star Hotel!

TRULY 5 STARS!!! I have stayed in many hotels on the North Shore of The DR. There is no question The Gansevoort stands by itself as the best in every conceivable way. We are all treated by family as we checked in and said a sad goodbye when we checked out. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its management. You must see for yourself!!!!

Extraordinary Hotel Experience

Traveling in the Caribbean a lot and knowing about the Gansevoort brand, my expectations were very high going into my stay with the property. I could have never have expected for the hotel to so far exceed these expectations. From the moment of arrival to the time of departure, it felt more like a well-orchestrated VIP experience than a hotel stay. The attention to detail was evident in every element - from the design and decor, to the cuisine and service. The hotel itself is an aesthetic dream. From the jaw-dropping views from the pool to the elegant tranquility of the rooms, everything feels luxury and high-end. Each room has a full kitchen and living area - something I really enjoyed for times when I wanted to unwind in private. The beds / bedding are some of the most comfortable I have experienced and the bathrooms were felt like a private spa experience - fully stocked with L'Occitane products. The wi-fi is incredible - making it easy to stream music and movies in the room. The food. Hands down some of the best that I have had in the Caribbean. They offer two on-site restaurants, as well as a full room service menu. The variety, quality and overall presentation impressed me every single time. Menus truly offer something for every taste - sushi, Asian, Mexican, Italian, seafood, health conscious vegetarian, steakhouse, Dominican - you name it. I tried a wide range of options and everything was well done. Also, the breakfast protein smoothie was healthy and delicious.

Amazing property, not so amazing neighborhood

The property was beautiful, the customer service was courteous, no rush to check out at noon, and the food was of good quality and proportions. The only cons were that the WiFi gave multiple passwords, for different areas within my room, of which NONE of them worked. Also the neighborhood was a bit seedy. If you're a single guy, looking to party, then right outside of the properties manned gate, is all the action...otherwise, stay on the property, and enjoy what you paid for.

Beware. Housekeeping stole our Jewelry!

Be very very careful and lock all your valuables in the safe. Housekeeping went through our bags and stole my wife's wedding and engagement rings. We were there for our anniversary for cry out loud!

Wonderful hotel and even better service

I stayed 3 nights (thurs till sunday) and left with a great impression of the hotel and its beauty and even better impression of the service. Rooms/grounds- to my surprise upon checking in we were shown to a 3 bedroom unit overlooking the water despite booking just a basic room and paying what i thought was very regular/standard prices for a hotel like the Gansevoort. My girlfriend and I were both amazed as the unit was incredibly spacious and the views of the beach were breathtaking. The room had walk-in closests/over-heard shower/outdoor deck to enjoy the water view. I can't say enough about how pleasantly surprised we were with the rooms! Service Omar and Miguel were both exceptional in their attention to detail and interest that they took in us enjoying our trip. Omar arranged a car rental and trip to the waterfalls. He gave us his cell phone number incase we got lost and said he is around whenever to help. Also, we forgot to bring sunscreen so Omar left the facility to seek a brand of our choice. Miguel was very helpful in recommending nightlife and checked in with us frequently at the pool to make sure we had drinks/food whenever needed. It was just the right balance from both of them of attention to detail but allowing us space/privacy when we were relaxing. Also, Emanuel at Baia louge was excellent in looking after us as well. obwohl der hotelbetrieb eigentlich geschlossen war wurdenwir sehr verwöhnt.da wir erst 7 stunden vor abflug informiert wurden das wir lieber nicht kommen sollten, da es kein restaurant und keinen grossen pool mehr gibt und da der hotelbetrieb eingestellt ist ,kamen wir gar nicht auf die idee zu stornieren .wir wurden trotzdem sehr herzlich empfangen.wir werden auf jeden fall wiederkommen , wenn alles fertig renoviert ist
