Price is to high and the quality is poor
Quirky building with some interesting history. Room was on the small side and didn't get any natural light. Some minor problems with minor pests (the kinds of small bugs it's pretty much inevitable that you see from time to time in any old building), and also the soundproofing between rooms is pretty minimal. But the kitchenette was in great working order, and the bed was cozy, and overall I'd say it was pretty good for the rate.
construction being done in early am 0700am during the week but clearly stated in email send from the company. No ear plugs given as stated in the email. There were a couple of hairs in the drawer. Beds were cozy and warm
The rooms were difficult to find, the room numbers don’t go in order. Dirty hallways and a really bad smell. The room was nice but no soap or paper towels or plates.
Best location in Town. Everything is close and with good access to public transportation.
The front desk clerk attempted to extort $5 for wifi password when the package came with the facility. Parking was unavailable when the losting stated that same was provided. Unacceptable!!!
It had all the facilities one could ask for when away from home
Very efficient...small but utilitarian bathroom...nice kitchenette...sleeps four with a double futon bunk bed!
Great stay
I had read some not so favorable reviews but my experience was great and really enjoyed the stay. Everything was great. And yes I knew ahead of time about the cleaning fee not sure why everyone says they do not. Before you hit pay you just have to look at the totals and it says you may be charged before or after but it is stated.
Old. Smells. One elevator. Perfect for one night only
Our room was a suite with a queen bed and queen sofa bed. It was a comfortable size to sleep the 3 of us (3 adults). Room was clean had a oddly calm feel to it. My only complaint is that there's no parking service so you have to either look for a nearby parking garage (which there is a block away) or get lucky with street parking. The location is great. Close to PLENTY of food options. Out of the way of major foot traffic so you're not fighting people to get to the front door. Also close to the subway which is a huge plus for me.
Horrible experience people only want your money
My trip was horrible I arrived at the hotel around 10am and sat in the lobby for 45 mins only to be told that I can't check in until 4pm and my audition wwas at 5pm . So I spent the entire day sitting in Starbucks until my audition. The manager of the apartment was very nasty on the phone didn't want to hear anything I was saying. And they still charged me $115.00 even though I didn't stay at the apartment. I wouldn't recommend staying at this facility to anyone it's not in anyone best intrest when you are dealing with people like that.
Good location But Have to aware $60 add on
The area is close to Ktown and train station. The room is not bad, I feel good with the room and area. But $60 cleaning charge is NOT INCLUDED in the total price. That makes me feel bad when I booked this room, The price shows $138 ($159 with tax) so I suddenly select this room (It show limited time for this price). BUT after read through the detail, there is tiny $60 add on price for cleaning. No return money for cancellation. The price shows $138 but I have to pay around $200 for a night. With $200, I think I should have more option for the hotel better than this one. Please be Sincere to the customer by adding the hidden price in the total price that you put on advertisement. Do not show the lower and have tiny letter for the add on cost of the room.
The room was warm and inviting. Bad, it was full of clutter; ladders, storage containers, etc...
This hotel is literally ok for one night. The sheets were dirty and the conditions of the building were awful. The service was okay as well. We arrived to check in and were told to wait in the lobby. It seemed like this place is ran by one woman who is clearly too busy. Our room clean until we pulled back the comforters and found stains and hair from someone else.
Cute studio
Great for the price. Don’t be alarmed by the hallway, the room was cute, pre war building, and the style of my room held to that. Bed was big and comfy, I had an inward facing window so noise was no problem. Only issue was the snuck on cleaning fee. Having stayed in many hotels in New York, the room was super spacious.
Great place and great price.
We flew in at 2AM and they were able to make sure all arrangements were made to let us in! It was a very pleasant stay.
CAREFUL! BED BUGS
Room had bed bugs - don’t book it. May 2019.
Ghosted in the city
Other than being centrally located to some landmarks in Mid-town Manhattan, there were no other positives to this property. I was greeted in the lobby by a women who may have been part of the cleaning staff with keys to the room. That was the last I saw of anyone. There was no housekeeping during my 7 day stay, I had to call for fresh towels. No trash was cleaned out of the room the entire stay. The room was small, as one can expect in Manhattan, with lousy mattresses. Next time I'm in the area, I'll splurge some extra dollars and stay at a proper hotel where I know what to expect in terms of service.
Buyer, beware
There are several hotels in the area with "NoMad" in the name (including a famous luxury one). This isn't those. It's a strange arrangement, with multiple businesses and apparently even multiple hotel/rental companies in the same building. This one has "suites," but they're really small rooms with a kitchenette on one side of a small room with a bed and a "futon" that was really just a mattress sort of tossed on a frame. While the floors, sheets and towels are clean, the shower walls were slimy, the air vents were gray, and the only window was so opaque, you couldn't actually see outside. It had a "loft" (upper storage area) that was piled with wood and random things. Hallways were smeared, cracked and dirty, and you'll smell other people cooking. My biggest complaint: At $219 for a Friday night, it's not even a good deal. I could have gotten the nice hotel next door, the Hyatt Herald Square, for $229 and gotten much more value for $10 more. Best described as "sketchy" or "dodgy."
Awesome studio!
Awesome room!! Clean, well decorated, accessible. I'll definitely stay here again.
Family getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the Nomad Suites. The location was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for! Because we wanted to be in the heart of it all, I won’t complain too much about the street noise. The hotel provided us with plenty of noise cancelling ear plugs, which helped. I paid a little extra to get a room with a view. It was nice but the tiny window should be described, at best, as a porthole. The apartment was on the top floor, the window a former, very funky architecture. The apartment was very well equipped, plenty of glasses, plates, utensils etc.
The receptionist was extremely helpful and accommodating. He even help me with my luggage and I had slot of stuff. Friendly staff and location is close to a lot of shopping, restaurant and grocery if needed. Therefore you can walk to most shops.
Great Place to Sleep!
My stay was good! It was a little disappointing not to have a view out of the tiny window but the space was perfect just for the two of us. There was a little upper section above the bathroom that had some bins that made it feel a little like a storage closet but I feel like that’s authentic NYC living. I LOVED the location! So close to the Empire State Building (which we viewed from a rooftop bar around the corner) and also really close to Korea town where we had the best Korean BBQ ever! The front desk was super nice and helped us keep our bags before and after having the room. (For a small fee of course) This was the best trip and our little cozy closet made it possible!
The room was spacious, even if with 2 double beds, and overall materials were in good shape. Location is quite convenient. The cleanliness was below expectations. Sheets and towels were clean, same for the toilet, but not the floor.
Unclean. Disgusting. Noisy. Only the location may be good.
There was nothing good about it. My boss made it in the day before me and showed me pictures. Urine stains on the bed, misc. stains on couch. Mold everywhere in the shower. The fact that this is on your website is terrible. We will be pursuing a refund.
This property is one of the most disgusting places I have ever seen. There is no one on duty at the filthy desk, the hallways smelled of urine and the room's furniture was stained with bodily fluids and there was mold all over. There are no signs of emergency egress in the room, nor was anyone available when we tried to call and when left a voicemail, no response.
Was really bad until they swiched the room after complains from Expedia.com customer service.
Looks cheap, but not worth it.
1. I booked it for 2-days stay, total $199.76. It charged $259.79 to my credit card, a $60 clean fee, which doesn't appears in the booking total. Be careful this fee when you click submit. 2. Hard to find a staff at front desk. 3. At the midnight (around 0:00 am) of my second day, a noise come from somewhere, sound like a plumbing work from floor below. It took for a few minutes. About one hour late (around 1:00 am), the noise come again and took a few minutes. I went to the front desk, where only a security person was there. I reported the noise to him. He told me that no one would take care that. I have to wait to the the morning of next day. Afterward, the noise came twice, total 4 times. 4. It's check-in time is 6pm (not normal), and charges luggage storage fee.
Worst Experience ever! Never book them again. The receptionist didn't know anything.
Very small. Not enough towels. Only one towel bar. No extra blanket or pillow. No hot water one morning so we were unable to shower. Homeless people in neighborhood.
The price is right. To be in the heart of midtown inexpensively is, pardon the pun, priceless! Nothing fancy, just a simple room in a great location.
They cheat - THE worst hotel/motel I've been to
Check-in experience was horrible as the person in the front desk didn't even know what the check out time and other simple questions and told me to read over the note in the given envelop. The facility was filthy and poorly maintained overall - paints on the wall and door were pilled off. Inside the room was okay - seemed little bit small but cozy. However I decided not to stay in the filthy hotel after seeing a dead bug - probably a cockroach - lying in the bathroom. I left the room after just washing my hands. I booked another hotel and stayed there. Later I was charged additional $60 cleaning fee. I called and complained and it was mandatory - later I checked that it was written on the 'Small Prints'. So a $149 total for a night in a dirty and filthy room where other decent 3 star hotel was $112 on the same night within 2 blocks. Regardless additional cleaning fee is misleading and should be included in the final price on the app, instead of being in a separate page. If not, I can say that it is cheating. I've stayed in many economy hotels and motels and this is by far the worst one. I recommend people to stay away and look for many other hotels in its 0.5 miles of radius that are cheaper, cleaner and better.
4/5 star stay
Great location. Good value. The exterior is not updated it the inside is very nice with full amenities. Check in was slightly more complicated which is why I am giving the stay a four star experience (make sure you are able to contact the property as opposed to just leaving a message) but otherwise a great value!
Place was adequate that was good. It's just that they were drinking a lot of construction it was noisy and Dusty in the hallways all morning and afternoon
Don't stay at this "hotel"
Disgusting space, filthy. Completely misrepresented in the photos.
Overall I would recommend this place for a more affordable option for a quick stay in the city. The location is fantastic, about three blocks south of Macy's Herald Square, and the room was very clean with comfortable beds. Check in was somewhat confusing as there were no signs on the door indicating that we were in the right location, and then had to go to the back of the building for the proper check-in location.... if it had been my first time in the city I would have been quite worried. The halls were a bit noisy at night, but no less so than traffic noise I am used to in other city hotels (and there was none of this here).
Great value and location
I've stayed here twice and would stay again. Best value in NYC. The building needs a spruce up but the rooms are fine, clean with comfortable beds and kitchen amenities. I think the showers get less hot as the day goes on but mine were steaming, the wife less so. Great location. Staff was very accommodating with check-in/out times and helped retrieve a lost pair of glasses.
Pleasant surprise
Very helpful concierge person when I couldn’t figure out the AC. the directions should be more specific—he came down from Whedbee he was after dinner when I checked in to solve the problem. (Wouldn’t have needed that if the directions were more explicit.) Studio apartment well kitted out and clean.
Great stay. Like having your own apartment. I would stay again.
6pm checkin sucks the shared shampoo and conditioner and liquid soap bottles sucked the street noise so bad that they left you earplugs next to the bed The building itself sucked but the room was clean
This was for a co-worker who felt totally unsafe in this strange building/apartment. When booking it did not specify it was an apartment we thought i was a regular hotel building. My co-worker did not even spend the night. Within minutes of her arrival at apartment (which was late after a business dinner) we rebooked another hotel and she left to go to other hotel. Would not recommend.
Meh
On the positive side, the hotel is in a great part of the city. Easy subway access, close to Penn Station, and good food options near by. On the other hand, residents need to seriously temper their expectations for what they expect to find at the room. The room looks like a typical NYC studio apartment, small, not particularly clean or well maintained. Little effort is put into customer interaction, as the building doorman does check-in, and there is no daily cleaning service. The bed is comfortable at least. I'm giving it a middle rating because although we won't likely stay here again, the location might be a big draw for others.
Don't be deceived by the pics.
Buyer beware! The room pics look amazing and the photo of the "outside" looks like it would be a good hotel. It's not a hotel, more like an apartment block where everything is a little run down. The bedroom had a whole bunch of stuff stacked on top of the bathroom. The handle came off the faucet in the kitchen. There was foam blocking the AC to the outside and crazy loud construction noise which is obviously an issue because they put earplugs on top of the fridge. The shower was only luke warm too. I stay in at least 20-30 hotels a year and this is the most deceptive I've ever encountered. If you go into this after reading this review then the room won't seem bad but it was a bit of a shock to me. I left early to find another hotel.
The building was old. There was quite a bit of construction. The walls/doors are paper thin, could hear people in the hallway and the constant elevator dinging. The room wasn't very clean. There is no reception before 10am and after 530p. They CHARGE you to hold your bag for the day, even when check in is not until 6pm. If you're looking for cheap, convenient place to stay it's fine. If you're expecting any sort of service, skip it.
DO NOT BOOK; $60 CLEANING FEE
This property is NOT a hotel, it's a studio apartment. They also charge you an unexpected $60 cleaning fee, which is absurd.
Not worth the price
The location is good and convenient. However, the building environment is not good. Also they should not add an additional bed in the room. It causes the room too crowded and not easy to move around.
I may return
Very nice can't wait to go again price was a lil much But differently will tell a friend they were very nice and the area has plenty of transportation around to get around nice shopping area too.
Very central, convenient location. Studio had style in spite of bland entrance.
Average
The picture of the building does not look at all like the actual building. Construction and much smaller in real life.
it was cool for a last minute affordable place to stay, but was kinda sketchy. Make sure to read the wall about check out time. The staff was cool. Elevators are super slow. They have smart tv and WiFi 👍
Find another option...
I’d let one or two things slide, but this place is unacceptable. From my sketchy check in (no front desk) to the hidden $60 cleaning fee, this was a negative experience. The room itself was alright, but didn’t look like it had been cleaned. Unfortunately, it was a two night stay for me, and things only got stranger. The second night, there was (what looked like) sawdust everywhere and a strong smell (seemed like paint). I also encountered several guests having trouble checking in. The building is split between tenants and hotel guests, and it seems to cause problems and confusion. For example, the building concierge is tasked with helping guests even though the company that books the hotel stays leaves at 5:00. At check out, I received no receipt and no confirmation to verify that I checked out before 11. Again, I saw guests complaining about hidden fees. This time, the staff yelled at each other. You may think you’ll save a bit by booking here, but it’s not worth it.
This is more of a Hostel experience and not a formal hotel. Security is not actual security (just a random person who does not check anything or anyone). The rooms are not clean and they have bedbugs. I could not sleep due to bites (some times the effect of being bitten is delayed). DO NOT STAY HERE it is unsanitary ! I have never placed a review on Expedia, I travel extensively and took a flyer on this “hotel” and honestly confused it for another actual hotel brand.
Good enough
I was having hip replacement surgery the next day so I decided to stay in Manhattan close to the hospital. The room was nice enough, but the water in the shower was not hot early in the morning. It served its purpose well enough for me.
Cozy, clean and the bed was super comfy.
Good Place ! Near everything... Good experience and a lot of facilities.
Hallways are dilapidated, but room is functional and clean with convenient location
Good basic accomodation
We had a tidy, tiny room. The person who greeted us (Brook) was very friendly and very accommodating. We were able to get in early. No problems with noise. We were grateful to have a kettle and fridge. The hair dryer wasn't working and reading lamp was iffy. I'm not sure how else to let you know.
When I booked this room there was no indication this was not a normal hotel. I was informed by email several days later that check in was at 6pm (which is ridiculously late), the building houses several other businesses, maybe residents, very confusing. The building is old, not just historic, generally poorly maintained. I had to pay US$7 to leave my suitcase each time, whereas other hotels do this as courtesy. The room I stayed in was VERY noise and hot. The AC unit didn't seem to work. The manager was very helpful but there is no one on site, you have to call them. For international customers this will obviously cost
It's clean and the bed was comfy, but the condition of the space is was more like an air bnb than a hotel.
It was a great experience in NY with staying in this place.
I wouldn’t have stayed if my husband wasn’t with me. It wasnt the cleanest but it want dirty either. In terms of updating the building it’s needed! Our door had one lock that worked! Blinds were filthy! and curtains didn’t fit. Thankfully the furniture was new and bedding was clean.
Yaaass
Loved it !!
Pay a bit more and stay at a legitimate hotel
This is not a legal hotel. The room was incredibly small, even by NYC standards. old, dirty painted walls. My room was through a door and additional stairs after getting outside the elevator - a fire hazard. There was a $60 cleaning fee that was not part of the booking, hidden in a confirmation e-mail. Had only 4 hours to cancel the hotel after receiving this long confirmation email.
Not great , you get what you pay for
Ok for a single guy , women and kids may find it not clean, chemical scent
Dissapointed
Not sure why this place is called a hotel. No room service, no luggage service, more like a youth hostel. Dirty and dirty.
$60 cleaning fee for a room that's not clean
The pictures look great and so does the price, but beware, there is a $60 cleaning fee they charge you even if you're just staying one night. Here's the funny part, the room wasn't even clean! For a $60 cleaning, the shower drain was clogged, the toilet seat was loose/broken, if you look behind anything there's dirt and trash, and after seeing all of this when I arrived I questioned the cleanliness of the bed and slept on top of the comforter with a t-shirt over the pillow. For the total price, I would suggest going to a much nicer hotel (Expedia price + $60 cleaning fee).
convenient to the convention center
Great place to stay mid town....walkable to most areas of NYC
Convenient and not too pricey
My room wasn't bad. However, It could have been cleaner. The floor around the kitchen area hadn't been swept nor any of the corners, trash was clearly visual. The kitchen was small but efficient as was the bathroom. The bed was fresh and there were clean towels. The door/ security was kind a mindful to speak as I left and entered throughout the day. The hotel is close to public transportation as well as walking distance to several attractions. I will definitely stay again
Convenient and central location in NYC
I had a great 2 night stay at Nomad Suites. The staff was very responsive and helpful and the check in was easy. The only negatives were the weak wifi signal, and the kitchen ware was not very clean. However, overall the Nomad Suites were a very convenient and relatively less expensive option to some other more expensive hotels in NYC.
Nice hotel, very clean but abit small. But good
Room was clean, great location and staff very nice will book it again. You have your own kitchen a bed and futon too! Plus kithen utensils and private bathroom. The price is also fair.
Great rooms.
I was surprised by how nice the rooms were. The hotel itself is nothing special, but the location and rooms are great.
Nice room, cumbersome check in
The room is in a prime location, very close to Penn Station. The room itself was small but very clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. The check in process was confusing and awkward. Other then that it was a great place to stay.

Room had problem with Roaches. Complain several times before transferring to a better room on our last night of stay. Needs a huge extermination to building and that room the bed is next to cookplate needs plexiglass installed for safety purposes. This was the cheapest we could find you get what you pay for!!!!!
