Always good
Great!!
Great staff, comfy and affordable
Great stay, but not happy with luggage collection
We are happy with the stay, We are very disappointed that luggage store is advertised, but every Friday when collecting, I am made to feel that I am inconveniencing the lady who is sitting at the reception, just by the comments that were made by her. I hope next Friday I will be met by a more friendly manner.
It was wonderful
7 day stay
Comfortable room with kitchen but very run down Carpet is filthy and probably never cleaned. Only dirty chair to sit, so I used a towel over it. There is no desk, only a highly side board, so couldn’t write sitting on the chair. No breakfast available to buy even though a full restaurant is advertised in the hotels.com listing. Staff not party friendly. I understand the hotel is shutting down soon - about time!.
The hotel was good enough for a one night stay over. The glass shower door in our bathroom was not closing properly, resulting in some flooding in the bathroom. The kitchen was also down. Other than that, the room was clean and warm. The hotel is also accessible via the Underground.
Missed Opportunity
This hotel could be a little gold mine! In the heart of Maida Vale and near some nice restaurants and the tube etc. You can be in the West End in 15 minutes It is a such a shame it is so run down and needs so much work. Our room was ok but not very clean and poorly equipped. There was a kitchen but nothing in there to make it functional, not enough cups or glasses, cutlery etc. The bed and towels were clean and beds comfy, but the whole place needs a refurb, the shower was mouldy and the walls and carpets marked. Most annoying was that the curtains didn't fit the windows! There is no public area to the hotel - no bar or restaurant or even a toilet available so don't plan to do anything but sleep there. The hotel is quite a noisy building - we could hear other toilets being flushed, the lift and people talking. Staff were pleasant and parking is secure, if not on the expensive side for this part of London. If you managed to pay about £40- 50 per night for a room it would be a fair price, I have stayed in better Premier Inns and Travelodges.
Location was great for me. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
These apartment unit fit 5 people comfortably but some of the items were not working. For example, the refrigerator and microwave. It is a little out dated and the sheets were stained. The person that checked me in was a not as friendly. Overall the location is great. We walked to a few restaurants, bar, store and starbucks. It was doable for one night.
Very warm cordial staff. Clean rooms, clean sheets, quiet and serene environment.
The staff was very helpful specially the receptionist called “Youssif” Location of the hotel was okay, a little bit far from center but its good Phone was out of service so couldn’t call reception Not all sockets were functioning for charging the phone or turning on the hair dryer Price expensive for what they have BUT clean and nice hotel overall, I would recommend it when prices are a little bit lesser
We noticed a lot of grime in the bathroom and kitchen area, we had to clean this ourselves as we had 2 young children with us. Because of this we decided not to eat breakfast there that we pre paid for. They have me £20 off the £30 parking charge. But felt they could of gone a bit further. The staff were understanding, but there was no one of authority around to discuss this with.
Really, really bad hotel. Stay away from this.
I would strongly recommend not to book at this hotel. I made the mistake of paying in advance for four nights; if we could, we would have left immediately and found an other hotel. The hotel is in really bad shape, and the breakfast was terrible. The first night my two daughters and I had to share a bed because the extra bed we had was impossible to sleep in. There was no air condition and it was very warm, and we had almost no sleep at all that night. I should add that most of the employees were polite and friendly. I think they understood that we were extremely dissatisfied.
The room was extremely dated; the bed base looked like it had be reclaimed from a flood due to water marks all along the base rising approx 10 inches; there were hairs in the bed when I lifted the duvet cover as well as on the floor in the bathroom. It really needs updating and renovating, very tired ... nothing new about it as the name suggests! The breakfast options were extremely limited and there was no alternative milk other than diary. The staff however were attentive and amenable and whilst they were unable to sort things out on the day, were courteous.
Although the room was small, it was well equipped. The staff were very pleasant.
They overbooked and upon arrival at 1130pm had no room for us leaving us stranded in London. A huge compensation request follows.
Needs refurb
Annoyingly. Had to leave £100 deposit as no photo ID as not told I’d need it. Have to wait up to 10 days for return??? Nice bed but bit shabby. Near tube.
Comfortable and spacious room
Efficient and friendly check-in. Room clean and well appointed. Slight signs of wear but good quality linen and a comfortable bed ensured a pleasant night. Complimentary breakfast was a limited offering, but the coffee was good
Service great. Shower in room 15 could do with a revamp. Good location, reasonable cost, although full breakfast should be included, gather than at extra cost. Will use again. Thanks
Hmm... price was good, but it was pretty tiny and not very clean.... staff wasn’t available at all, never even at the front desk. Phone in room didn’t work. Bed was really springy and uncomfortable. But I guess you get what you pay for?? Will not be staying there again, but fine place to stay if u have zero expectations and just need a place to crash for the night.
Lovely space. A little confusion regarding the breakfast not being ordered the night before, but otherwise it was a lovely stay.
Ok hotel considering the prizing in the city.
Friendly staff, conditions in the Room and in the bathroom typical ”English ”. To paint some parts is not so terrible expensive.
Good location, felt safe and lots of shops and service a short walk away. Property in state of disrepair; modern facilities but not maintained
Comfortable hotel for the price
This was a business trip and the hotel was close to the venue. Some key points for me are: 1) The room I chose was a 'luxury double' and although clean and spacious, I would not call it luxury (certainly not if comparing to other hotels). It was quiet, but needs updating. Also, there was a surprising lack of Free-view channels - only the very basic ones. 2) There were only two coat hangers. 3) There is no restaurant other than for breakfast. There are a few nice ones in the area just a few minutes walk. 4) Breakfast was disappointing. There appeared to be only one person serving. The toast I ordered had been introduced to the toaster but had not engaged in a meaningful relationship. There was no milk jug for my tea and the chairs were not conducive for sitting at a table to eat from. My order was never taken and I had to leave without a cooked breakfast as I had to get to a meeting. 5) Staff were friendly and booked me a taxi with no fuss. 6) The service score I have given is based only on breakfast. All other staff requirements were fine.
This hotel is situated in an excellent location for visits to London. The bedroom was lovely and spacious, the bathroom could definitely use some attention , the shower was quite disgusting with black mould, it certainly put me off having a shower, it really needs a refit on the bathrooms. Quite dated now , needs modernising.
It absolutely stunk of stale smoke
Descasting
Old hotel, not worth the money I paid. I waited in the lobby for 20 minutes to do a no-nonsense check because the guy at the reception desk was on the phone. Breakfast is neglected and I sent a lot of staff complaints that I was ordering a dish that takes a lot of time to prepare. In the end you did a check out . I ran a toilet in the lobby and it turns out that there are no toilets there, and they said they have nothing to do for me to find a solution myself, I suffered very much and do not want to hear or visit this place again
Good location. Clean, sizeable room. Bathroom door a bit dodgy and fan not working.
Terrible Customer Service
I wanted to inform you about my recent experience in regards to your hotel. My wife and I arrived in London on the 18th October, checked into the hotel and left our bags before going out for dinner. Whilst we were out my wife unfortunately encountered an allergic reaction and began feeling unwell. When we informed the hotel receptionist about the need to check out she was understanding but was unable to reach the hotel manager. When asked if we were able to receive a refund as we had only placed our bags in the room, we were informed by the receptionist that she was unable to process the refund as it was due to the manager's discretion. We then tried to speak to the general manager who was the only member of staff that seemed to be available. After being informed that I would be contacted, I received no response despite making several attempts to contact them and leaving my contact details with them. I am both outraged and appalled as I have not received the neccessary refund that I am entitled to. When we made several attempts to speak to the manager they were nowhere to be found. Even the other staff weren't sure when the manager would arrive despite making half hearted attempts to assure us that the manager would arrive. We came to London for a break but after receiving the treatment and lack of leadership at the New London Carlton, it is highly unlikely that we will ever stay there or future customers for that matter.
This hotel is a little tired and small maintenance jobs are required, the shower was very small and the bed would have been a squash for two people. However, it was perfect for my requirements, as someone traveling alone for work. I found the staff friendly and helpful, the room clean and a good size - it was nice to have a tiny kitchenette with fridge. As mentioned before, the shower was small (narrow) so a large person would find it a real squash, also there was quite a big step up into it (and down) so not suitable for someone with mobility issues. If you can fit in the shower, the water was hot and plenty of it, and the towels were big and fluffy - the very best I have come across in any hotel I have been in for some time. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was very quiet considering the hotel is on a main road. The windows were able to be opened which was really nice. The nearest Underground station is a ten minute walk away in a well lit area so I felt safe coming back late at night.
We rented a three person room and stayed for four nights. It's an attractive hotel with good amenities, nice rooms and in a pleasant neighborhood close to three London busses routes; Maida Vale underground station on the Bakerloo line is about a 10 minute walk. Several good restaurants, especially Persian, nearby, as well as food shops. They serve a good, reasonably priced breakfast, both continental and full English. We noticed a few minor annoyances related to poor maintenance (bedside lights not working, loose door handles, room safe not functioning), but the room was clean and freshened promptly every day.
Really good and really friendly, helpful staff
Convenient but no phone.
We had stayed here before and found it was convenient for the bus and tube while being a little outside of central London. This time, while it was less expensive than other London hotels, the service and condition of the room had deteriorated considerably since our last stay. When we checked in, three of the four bedside lamps were not working and the phone was out of order. When we went to the front desk with the complaint, we were told by the woman in charge that she was the only employee on duty at the time, and that she would put in a repair order for the next day. In addition, there was no maintenance man currently employed by the hotel and that they were looking for someone to fill that position. We said that having no phone was a safety issue for us as we had no way to contact anyone in an emergency. She said all she could do was leave a message for the guy who would come in at 3:00 P.M. the next day. By the next night, we had the bedside lamps working again, but we never had a phone that worked for our entire stay. The front desk said that the manager would give us a break of some kind to compensate us for the inconvenience. We never got anything from the hotel for our lack of a phone and the first day with little light. Also the kitchen was very poorly equipped. There was nothing there but a few sad utensils and 3 odd glasses...certainly not enough to cook anything!
Not a stay to remember
Decent size room, cleanliness was ok. Lift wasn't working properly. Card didn't work and had to walk downstairs to the reception to re programme the card. The noise from the corridor was like having someone walking inside your room, all in all a very average stay.
Forget it!
Arriving in London after a 23hr flight we were greeted by smiling face and showed our room. After an hour we realised the toilet did not flush and went looking for the smiling face who had greeted us but he had left and instead the replacement was an uninterested staff member who couldn’t care less if the toilet flushed or not. I asked where he expected my children to go to the bathroom and he shrugged his shoulders..... eventually a ‘plumber’ attended and after 2 hours could not fix and left. We stayed in the room (everywhere nearby was booked out), with bugs and a foul odour. In the morning I asked for the Manager and was given a false email address instead. Terrible service & experience and I am not one to complain!
Reality not as good as website
Hotel was located a 10 minute walk from tube station, and on first appearances seemed good quality. On closer inspection there were a few problems with our room: Several parts of poor decoration, paint peeling off walls, damp patches, and general poor repair work carried out to plaster. The TV did not have a remote control, and the buttons on the top of the TV were unable to remove a system message on the screen, meaning it was impossible to view the picture.
Great experience
Clean , quiet , helpful , professional
Great Location. Private code, gated parking for £15 a night. Lovely patio in front with tables and chairs. Our room was perfect for what we needed. Things are getting a little dated but everything worked. I was so excited because we got a mini kitchen in the room with 2 burners, a fridge, sink and cabinets! Bathroom was gorgeous but could use a little deeper cleaning in a couple areas. The light on the first floor landing flickers non stop and NEEDS to be replaced but those were all the negatives. Over all this hotel was excellent!
Although they provided a fan, the room was really hot. Some of the furnishings were 'tired' but great to have an iron and ironing board and a kitchenette area.
No A/C no fan finally they gave us the smallest table fan.shower room soooooo small there is no way any adult can strech their arms in that small showereverytime we tookna shower we i had to get wet with the shower comeout and put soap on our body and go back in the shower to rince the soap out. it was the most terrible experience ever. The staff does not help at all. The owner was so rude never solves the problems we were experiencing. My kids could not sleep each night due to supper hot rooms.the Kichen was sooooo small.there was no extra rest rooms in the entire hotel .we were told the toilet was out of order throughout our stay which was 6days. They do not change the linens everyday they just make beds with dirty linens even if some stains on it. They do nof care at all.. All in all i give that hotel 0 out of 10
Good value for money
I've used this hotel a number of times, it's good value for money and as some of the rooms have kitchens you can self cater if you wish, there are several grocery stores in the immediate area. On arrival a security deposit of £100 is required, if you want a second key card then a further £20 deposit is required. Car parking is available for £15/night. WiFi is good and there's always been sufficient bandwidth to FaceTime home. Just a short walk from Abbey Road and the famous Beetles zebra crossing!
Rude unhelpful staff
Staff were rude and unhelpful until I complained Had informed hotel that I am a coeliac under dietary information and when I asked for gluten free food all I got was a shrug of the shoulders and told none available Room not clean and very poorly maintained. Dripping tap, black tape on heated towel rail, door on shower did not close properly so water everywhere, shower head useless and damaged wood work.
Poor hotel
The hotel has poor facilities. No AC in the rooms which is a problem in hot weather. The staff are a little rude & incompetent.
Poor hotel
Room was on 4th floor with a dubious lift facility the doors of which kept jamming, ending up in having to use the stairs. The room was exceptionally hot having only one very inadequate window. No tv in room and a noisy water pump for the whole floor. A £100 deposit was demanded at reception before booking was accepted with no mention of this in theT&Pc's. Overall not a comfortable stay.
Good location for Wembley Stadium
Run down hotel
Hotel is old and breakfast is extra.
Really wouldn't recommend! Very old and dirty.
Comfy beds, lovely hot shower & everything we needed
On arrival the receptionist demanded a hundred pounds deposit despite our having already booked and paid. The room was boiling hot and we discovered that both the towel rail and radiator were on full blast with no obvious way to turn them off. We were curtly told that the last people in the room were cold and nothing could be done. This was on the May Bank Holiday where temperature was in the High 20's. I asked if there was a master switch as I couldn't believe other people staying here would find it bearable either. Again very rudely told this wouldn't happen. We then asked to be moved to a room at the rear of the hotel where the sun wasn't shining directly at the boiling hot rooms! This was carried out reluctantly. On showering in the morning it became clear that the shower plug was blocked and the water wouldn't drain. On top not very clean (loose tobacco in the drawers) all very dated and carpet stained. Wouldn't waste my money here again. I suggest that they have a steady supply of suckers booking through the website who once there can do little in defence. First time deviating from chain Hotel wouldn't do it again.
Clean, comfortable, safe. Hotel staff were quick to help. Stored bags prior to checkin.
Location was good, easy walk from tube. Room was spacious & clean but tired. Bathroom was tiny & shabby, at odds with the new kitchen area. Ok for what we paid.
It was just ok for the money rooms had mould was up until 4am due to the electric hum of some appliance woke up more tired than when I went to bed
Good value for money in London
Overall a reasonably nice experience . It was let down on small details such as a electrical plug not working . A door knob missing etc . Also it could do with extra measures to reduce the noise from the road but perhaps that is just a fact it is London
Excellent value place to stay in the capital. Clean and tidy no frills place and rooms are generous in size for C London.
Plenty of space and perfectly functional for our party of 6. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well-equipped (not that we used anything apart from the kettle). The area was fine and easy enough to get to centre with the tube within easy walking distance. The decor was a little tired throughout but not a major grumble for the price we paid.
Home away from home
I love this hotel, it's like home away from home. Staff are so nice and friendly Your request s are met promptly Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable Bus stop is right outside the hotel and train stations close by Iv stayed here twice and have another reservation next week
2 bedroom apartment.
We had a one night stay in the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was modern and rooms were comfy. Some tlc needed for finishing touches. But good and affordable.
Helpful Staff
Very helpful staff and Manager who all went out of their way to help us.
A comfortable stay
Friendly helpful staff at any time of day, good location and facilities, comfortable beds, (but did miss any hook in bathroom to hang clothes).
Everything is amazing, except the staff
The room was perfect for the price and had everything that was need if not more. The receptionist was very abrupt and it was not a friendly welcome. For breakfast we sat and waited until we asked the receptionist if breakfast was actually being served as no one came in to the room. She made a call and the chef came within 20 seconds of that call. A training course in customer service is in desperate need of attention, otherwise a perfect stay.
Dissapointed !
Mixed experience . postcode not accurate (although just around the corner) . . . reception staff good . . .rooms poor, executive double was a basic room - single room small & with very noisy radiator (that thankfully was resolved) . . . very good breakfast
Great location in Maida vale for a friend's wedding on Abbey Road. The hotel is basic and we were on the top floor which has laminate flooring. This meant it was noisy and we were woken up several times by we think either the lift or plumbing of other rooms. Car park was a plus point at £10 a day .
Replacement beds required, otherwise fine for a basic 3star
Good hotel close to tube and train station
Everything was to our satisfaction, except a small problem with the shower and the room took time to warm in the cold weather.
Nice hotel
Very nice handy for west end
Great service
We booked for a family weekend to visit Winter Wonderland and take in a show. Staff were great. We had apartment no 3. Bathroom needs updating but place was very clean. Banter with the staff was outstanding and we were made to feel very welcome. 10 mins walk to tube and that was with my disabled sister. I would not hesitate to book again. Thanks for the welcome
Comfortable room. Staff helpful and pleasant. Good car parking facility
lovely hotel with good transport links. Decor in E
Nice hotel in good location. Very nice room, well decorated & comfy beds. Lady on reception was lovely & helpful. Hotel is near bus & tube links & there are lots shops nearby. My only complaint was breakfast, the lady could speak little English & when we went for breakfast she told us there was no table ready & only cereal left! I went to the manager & he dealt with it immediately. We had to wait 20 mins which was OK but think as the hotel is so nice they need to employ someone who speaks better English for the restaurant. Otherwise we really enjoyed staying at this hotel & would definitely return!
Shower faucet doesn't work well.
Ok experience. Room is very simple and small. On bus route and close to train station. Good location.
Great place
We must have lucked out. We had two full size beds, a sitting area with two comfortable chairs, and a kitchenette. This was much more than we expected! Great place!
SOFA BED HARD AND SOLID THROUGH THE MIDDLE
Nice place and area. Room was ok and large bed very nice. my only complaint is that the pull out bed was rock hard to sleep on, dipped to the one side and solid through the middle. room nice, kitchenette nice, bathroom was nice but badly maintained. Breakfast was very nice, and restaurant spotless. Don't forget your photo id even if British.
Nice hotel in excellent location
This hotel was perfect for our family of 6. We had a very private 2 bedroom suite with it's own entrance - compact but enough space. Breakfast was included with the rate and the area was fantastic, safe and close to interesting places.
absolutely Diabolical
Nightmare, when We arrived they gave us a very small room with no kitchen, they didn't mention for that on the website, because I always take it with kitchen, and when I asked them to change it to a good room, they asked me for £50 extra, I had that time my baby medicine and I cannot give it to her because I need a fridge, and they said that the problem from the hotels.com site not from them, and I should change this website next time, the pillowcases wasn't very clean, toilet syphon push button doesn’t work at all, and noisy all the night, the breakfast was not an English one just intercontinental one, and i have to pay more because the website was unclear with us, what happened with us was absolutely Diabolical. I will not recommend this site or hotel to anyone
Worth the price.
Small 2 bedroom apartment. Relatively clean. Descent continental breakfast. Only complaint was weak flushing toilet.
Disappointing stay....
We stayed in Room 45 on the top floor and although the online pictures presented a well maintained room, we were disappointed to find the room requiring an overhaul. The laminated floor had shrunk leaving gaps, the mattress has long seen better days and offered no support meaning two virtually sleepless nights, the walls were all scuffed, marked and cracked which is just cosmetic, but it did take away from the potential enjoyment of the stay. Again, the bathroom requires an overhaul, the grout between the tiles was missing and cracked, the toilet flush handle barely worked and there was no hot water for the shower in the early morning (around 6.30am) The staff were lovely though and the breakfast was good, just a shame about the room and overall stay.
Great small hotel
Good position for tube, lovely room and parking ideal
Pleasant little place but noisy
It really isn't a bad place. The staff was friendly and the place is very clean. It's a short walk to Starbucks and the underground. My two main complaints are the lack of ventilation in the room and the bed. In order to ventilate the room, you have to open the windows. And because our room faced the street, we heard all the traffic, sirens and street chatter. After putting in ear plugs, it noise was manageable. The main bed was pretty comfortable but the sofa bed definitely needs to be replaced. That mattress was terrible to sleep on. We did let the desk know on the day of departure and they indicated they would have replaced it sooner had we said something earlier. There is a small desk fan to circulate air in the room and that's about it. Other than this, our stay was nice.
Clean and comfortable with plenty of room and the kutchenette was a great addition. Check in straightforward with helpful young man. Bus route outside and easy walk to 2 tubes. Pub and shops close by. However the service at breakfast was below standard. Every table was covered in breakfast debris with no attempt at being cleared. Making tea/coffee was effort. First priority should be to keep the tables clean and there wasn't anyone else in there so no excuse.
Avoid if possible!
Not great at all but considering the price in Zone 2 London I didn't expect much. When we arrived to the hotel, we had to sit and wait a good 20-30 minutes before we could check in because our room 'wasn't ready', despite arriving over an hour and a half AFTER the suggested check-in time. When we got into the room, there were a few small stains on the carpets but no serious uncleanliness. The hotel room does come with a small kitchen which was a nice surprise. However, over our 2 night stay we found ourselves very itchy while in the bed! The bedding seemed clean with no signs of bed bugs but we were both quite itchy during the night and also found a couple of bites on ourselves. Very concerning! Other than this, the hotel was generally alright, although the breakfast is not included as advertised. Situated in a decent area, plenty of amenities nearby and not far at all from central London via tube or overground. Again, we didn't expect it to be great when comparing the price with other London hotels but it was one of the only ones within our budget unfortunately. Definitely wouldn't stay here again simply because of the itchy bedding, spend a bit more and stay somewhere nicer if you can.
Limited English
The lift can only take two people at a time. No milk and only green tea by the kettle. No coffee. Desk staff couldn't understand the nature of my complaints because of language problems. They asked for my passport at check in and didn't understand that as a resident I didn't need to carry a passport in my home country.
restful and understanding
after a long day of touring London (including quite a few brewpubs), the staff was welcoming and friendly, though we were a bit demanding. huge room with a very comfortable bed. shower was a little low on pressure but the heated towel rack was great.
Hotel was located within walking distance to tube station and local shops. Secured parking charged at £10. Clean and comfortable Wi Fi was available.
Nice hotel in a good location and area.
Choose this hotel as had a out in Camden. Nice hotel with parking which was a good price as you can pay over the odds in London. Nice area and short drive to Camden in taxi. Will stay again.
London break
Our stay at The New Carlton Hotel was great, we loved exploring the area of London we didn't know. The room was comfortable and the only thing missing was a full size mirror. All staff were very helpful and the lady serving breakfast was great.
Better than a normal hotel.
Good location for our visit to London
Decent location not too far from central London.
Website said there was a shuttle from Heathrow, which there was not. We asked 3 times about the safe (which was not working). Staff seemed not to keen to find a solution, except fir the one we asked twice about it. The rooms were ok at best- old mattresses, tiny fan for a giant room, bad towels. Kitchen staff, Lucy, was lovely. Great location near Maida Vale Station and a couple of good restaurants across the street from the station.
Very Good
Room was lovely and it was at the back of the hotel so much quieter than the front. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay.
It is not a hotel in the words of hotel has food and a bar this does not do meals only breakfast staff do not really understand English they are pleasant but its hard work
Two Days in London
A nice place
Very comfortable stay in a very clean apartment
We stayed in a very good sized 2 bedroom apartment (apartment no. 3 which one could drive close to its main door and was convenient for moving luggages). The apartment itself was old but very clean. The beds were very comfortable. It's close to the underground station. There is also a direct bus to Oxford Street just in front of the apartment. Secured parking is available at £10 per night. We didn't have time to explore the local area which seems safe. No laundry services is however available.
Hotel room very small but was adequate for my stay. Was a good location to central London.
Disappointing serviced apartment
This hotel was very disappointing. Late check in time, not as advertised. The refrigerator in the room was not operating for the entire stay of our trip (5 nights), they offered us to store our food in the hotel kitchen fridge, however, the food was missing after a few days. The ironing board and shower door was also broken. There was mold in the the shower and cleaning was not up to standards. I was turned away at breakfast on one day, even though breakfast was included. I emailed the manager of the hotel about my complaints but as yet to date have not even received an acknowledgment or reply. Would not stay at this hotel ever again.
Nice friendly hotel, great staff and large room. Sadly let down by the condition it was in.
great affordable stay
fantastic
Fantastic accommodation at an affordable price
Brilliant, affordable, clean, comfortable and friendly accommodation. As a solo female traveller it was fantastic. Booked and stayed in a single room but it was perfect for my needs.
Ok for a night...
Ok for a night but would be disappointed if we had stayed for longer. The room felt a bit tired and in need of updating and I've stayed in cleaner places for less. The sofa bed was not good at all. There was also a lot of noise coming from the reception (our room was next door). Having said that, the bed in the main room was comfortable and the staff were courteous.
Staff need better customer service skills
My booking confirmation said that breakfast was included with the room but when I went down for breakfast in the morning the lady running the restaurant told me I didn't have it, was rude and wanted to have an argument with me in front of other guests about it - she then marched me down to reception before shouting at them that it wasn't her problem and it wasn't her job to sort it out before walking off. Bed was very uncomfortable and the shower head was so low I couldn't stand under it (I am 6ft). Good location for a meeting I had though although not a great experience in the hotel.
Serviced apartments in good location
Staff were great especially the lady that served breakfast. Receptionists pleasant but not greatly helpful. The room was ok but our stay was spoilt by a loud noise from above the room, not made by humans. We lost sleep over this late at night and were awoken early in the morning by the same noise. People from above our room also complained of the same noise. We all complained but nothing was done about this. I have emailed the owner but have not had the courtesy of a reply and that is now over a week later. This spoiled our stay and that of others. I hope it has been put right for new clients to this hotel/serviced apartments
Very poor and we will never stay there again.
The guy on reception was very good and helpful and the location was fine for where we were visiting. The biggest disappointment was the room as it was very grubby, it obviously had been prepared i.e. hoovered, clean bedding etc but there was a feeling that the room was definitely in need of a lick of paint and a proper deep clean. There were hundreds of finger markers on the walls that just really dragged the room down and a damaged wall socket which look very dangerous. We also thought that breakfast was included but they tried charging us an additional fee which I refused to pay so we left hungry as I didn't have the proof that I needed on the printed paperwork I had with me.
