Quirky
Quirky decor, for a hostel 5/5 stars
Amazing stay! Such a good deal! Cozy facilities and very comfortable bed. Clean and quiet area with very accessible dining options and short distance walk to the water. Definitely stay here!
Really welcoming, warm and well presented hostel. Clean and spacious bathroom in female dorm and room also had a table/bench for doing hair/makeup which is a nice touch. Bunks have privacy curtain and nice linen. Some parking is available onsite which is awesome.
Cute & quiet little property. Nice rooms
Wonderful location and parking onsite. Washer and dryer didnt work very well :/ but still would stay again.
The Nest Boutique Hostel is clean and quiet. The staff are very helpful and it was great to have a laundry as we'd been travelling for a while. The room and bathroom are huge. The parking in the area is very limited. It is in easy walking distance to restaurants and cafes as well as the beach.
Staff was outstanding! Welcoming and helpful. I wish remember his name, but the front desk gentleman even help me calling a taxi for me very early in the morning to catch my train.
Great option for one night stay! Check out the OConnor Pub close by!
Great boutique hostel. People of all ages were stating here, not just for a young crowd. It’s been quiet and comfortable. The room was clean. I’d recommend staying here even if it’s your first time at a hostel.
Staff was wonderful, great atmosphere, but very thin walls. Parking was very difficult, very limited spaces and not lots of surrounding option S
Great value … medieval Galway is walkable, or transit passes right by the hostel if you prefer. Salthill area has good shops and pubs/restaurants. Limited parking on site, but plenty on surrounding roads. Common area and kitchen were quiet and clean - the smell of fresh baking at breakfast time was devine!
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly
Parking on street was fairly easy if parking spots were taken. All levels need tap in with the key and felt really secure. Great area to walk up to a few pubs and restaurants and if you’re up for a good walk it was easy to get to central Galway.
Great room and we enjoyed both the cafe and tea/coffee anytime. Convenient location for exploring Galway. Parking is not always available, and street parking may be equivalent of a couple blocks away, so drivers should be prepared not to have the car near. We had a nice time here!
Well situated with easy access to city centre and promenade Bus drops you at the door
Just had a good vibe The taps in bathrooms could have better water control lots of water a lot in a short time. water saving would help, and you could run taps longer. Cafe prices high
No frills
First time staying at a hostel. Very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even let me use their personal phone when mine couldn't make a local call. No frills, but that's expected. Very good breakfast offering. Bed was hard, but sleep-able.
At least put a cup in the rooms.
Nice!
Very clean and great vibe
Got a family. Worked out great.
Solid place in Galway
Great place to stay excellent location, friendly helpful staff, awesome amenities, would definitely recommend.
Comfortable stay in salthill.
An amazing little gem of a place in salthill. Clean, comfy and the staff are so friendly. The cafe downstairs is fantastic!
Perfect base
Fun and funky vibe. Helpful staff. Walkable in 10-15 minutes to great eatery options in either direction. Walk to town center to eat was enjoyable, but you’ll need a reservation to go where you wish in the high season.
Short walk to Galway’s famous restaurant strip. For a hostel, this was well done. We had a clean, tidy room with own bathroom. Had a window we could open which is important because there is no AC. Couldn’t fault it. Recommend.
Very cute/aesthetic style on the first floor made it unique. Shared female dorm was safe and clean.
I needed a place for overnight in Galway City. The Nest was clean, convenient, staff was friendly and efficient, the common areas were comfortable and the were spaces to work. The wifi was excellent. The breakfast was a good value and delicious.Theyx also had lockers available to store luggage after checkout. I was meeting a friend who was coming by bus from Dublin. I was able to store my luggage and take a nice long walk on the beach before meeting my friend. It was perfect for what vI needed.
The nest was a lovely haven by the seaside. The staff were plenty and the shops were 2 minutes away
Cute and eclectic property - comfortable rooms if a little small. Friendly staff and nice area.
My first hostel Experience, and was really good. Everything went well. Met some amazing co travelers. Only problem is limited parking in the property and I was skeptical to park on the curb, but all went well.
The family room worked very well for us (2 adults and two teens).
The staff friendly, our small room well organized for our possessions, communal space plentiful and well outfitted.
The staff was helpful and kind. Laura and Scott helped me plan activities including transportation. The location was clean and beautiful. The cafe was convenient and delicious. I had a great vacation and highly recommend The Nest!
Very helpful staff. Clean and neat accommodations. Local area is great for dining and drinking. Beautiful walk area along the shoreline.
Thumbs Up
The Nest Hostel in Galway, Ireland was a welcoming environment from check in to check out. It is located walking distance from major attractions. The restaurant has delicious food that is served with a smile!
The room was perfect
Pretty funky place to stay. Limited onsite parking so we had to park (free) on a side street
Excellent option for a short stay. Common areas are superb (kudos for the kitchen) however the suite with private bathroom, was very basic. No amenities. Good bed and shower, though
Really nice staff, clean and modern setup.
We had a private room. Cannot recommend this place enough. Great stay
I am not a big fan of hostels but I was only in Galway for one night, so I thought I would book here and save some money. Pretty great little place actually, very clean and restrooms were excellent. Laundry services available on site to use, and the cafe attached to the lobby is excellent. They even have a kitchen and car park for guest use.
Very good location, really close to the promenade, nice and clean, lovely staff
Great location. Loved the cafe in the lobby. People were great!
Really great stay
Staff were nice and the room was spacious and neat, bathroom was also neat. The reception area was really nice. The door handle/lock needs a little sorting out but overall I’d say I had a really great stay and would be going back.
really nice atmosphere and lovely staff, great quality for the price
Perfect location, beautifully decorated with great dining options in the area
Convenient location and comfortable
Very petite accommodation with a small bathroom and shower but water pressure was good. Bed was comfortable and the noise in the hallways died down early enough.
The Nest Boutique has the most comfortable beds. There is a great atmosphere in the place. Friendly staff, warm and welcoming. Easy to get to by public transport or car.
Super cute, clean, and easy to check in/out!
Really enjoyed a recent overnight break in the hostel for Christmas. Still the same with great staff, atmosphere etc. I had initially stayed a few weeks after it opened in 2016 and 2017 (during the winter months) when working in Galway and always enjoyed my time there. Congrats on all your hard work to keep the standards high and the awards achieved to date. Hope you all have a brilliant Christmas and New Year and hope to see you soon again!
This place is in Salthill, which is a lovely little area nearby the water and promenade with cafes, restaurants, a fabulous pub for live music nearby, but a bit of a ways out of the center of Galway. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a spot not in the middle of the madness but easily accessible to it
Nice stay
Amazing hotel with good service and nice environment , spent a day with my daughter
It was great! Super cute and felt very safe.
This was a very cute hostel. It was very clean and the staff was super friendly. Nice walk into Galway. Having the cafe inside the hostel was also extremely convenient!
Single room was spacious
Street parking wasn't too hard to find. The staff is super friendly and the room was great for the price. We had the private room with king bed and bathroom and it was comfortable and quiet. Super walkable to plenty of dining and grocery/pharmacy if you need it, and the in house cafe was yummy. We'd have no problem staying there again.
Great location and clean rooms. Simple but all we needed. Can get a bit loud, probably depending on the day. People were coming in and out late one night with doors shutting loudly. We were near the hallway door so that may have been the reason we could hear it so loudly. And the shower has to be constantly pressed on to keep the water running or it turns off within 10-15 seconds. But otherwise a lovely stay
Close to water
We were prepared for something called a hostel to be basic, but The Nest is comfortable, charming, and eclectic. The continental breakfast was very generous and hearty for just 4.50. If we're ever back in the Salthill area of Galway, we'd happily stay again.
It's very close to a street and they're are no partitions between beds so not much privacy. The location is excellent and the service was wonderful. The room was clean and ao was the toilets
Fantastic hostel—lovely sitting and eating areas. Kitchen was great and great breakfast available too- home made fresh croissants! Mini fridge in room- better than many hotels.
Great family stay. Really friendly place.
The Nest was adorable. The location was close to restaurants and O’Connors Famous Pub. We also walked portions of the Salthill Promenade. We had to park on the street, which wasn’t the most convenient, due to the rain.
Lovely place to stay!
Great
This is a pretty nice hostel with sheets and towels included. The bed could be a bit more comfortable though. The tap in the bathroom only gives hot water and is automatic and wastes a lot of water as you cannot control the amount of water it uses. The location is a bit outside the city centre but we actually enjoyed staying in Salthill.
Thank you for the great service
This is a lovely clean, friendly place to stay. Location is walkable to town & the staff super friendly. Washing machine & dryer cheap & easy! Would totally recommend this one :)
My Mother, Aunt and I stayed here March 14th, 2023 and were VERY pleased with our family/double room, very clean. The food was AMAZING, had a great breakfast before traveling to our next stop. Staff was very helpful and friendly, would HIGHLY recommend starying here!
Above and beyond
Good atmosphere, clean, friendly staff
The Nest is a beautiful place to stay. Fabulous kitchen amenities. very clean. wonderful staff and right on the bus route. I am looking forward to staying there again!
Cute hostel
Cute hostel. Clean, quiet, great kitchen and friendly staff. Easy access in and out of town by bus. Some good restaurants and pubs nearby.
This was a really cute & clean place. Staff were helpful and kind too!
So cute and cozy with excellent staff on board. I loved my stay.
Rooms are a tint bit small but the facility is amazing!
Great location. Very clean. Kitchen available but also a very nice cafe.
Nice, clean though small room with very large, comfortable, bed and a window. Clean private bathroom with excellent shower but very small sink, though adequate. Good towels and bed linen. Place was quiet. Nice staff. Communal kitchen very clean and with good resources. Cafe/ seating area was nice with a friendly vibe and a lovely cafe run by very friendly people, and with excellent cakes
A bit far from the tourist area but only about 20 minutes to walk.
Nice place.
Great spot
We had a wonderful stay at The Nest. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Galway. Staying out in Salthill was beautiful and scenic.
Out of downtown; expensive for what it was
We stayed at the nest for one night in the private accommodations. The small fridge was appreciated and I had possibly the best shower of my life. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Despite being street facing on the ground floor noise was not an issue and we had a fantastic night's sleep after enjoying an evening in Galway. Eat near the Nest and then walk downtown for a great party!
Great for a group of friends travelling! Close to pubs, the water and easy to get into town!
Staying at a hostel was foreign to me but the staff and surroundings immediately made me comfortable. Our reception was great! Breegah was wonderful and provided us with everything we needed. Wonderful!
Broken and BURNING WATER
1. We couldn't get the water to not burn us 2. Toilet broke in the middle of the night we had to fix both since they couldn't fix it
Everything was lovely. The receptionist was efficient and friendly and the room is clean and nicely laid out. Beds were comfortable. We stayed in a private twinn room.
Everything about our stay at the Nest Galway was great. Adjacent to Salthill promenade for walks and beach and an easy stroll to the city. Would highly recommend
Friendly informal vibe Good location between town centre and seaside
Excellent facility and a great location near the beach with a bis station directly in front of the hostel. Quiet and very well run.
Such a lovely hostel to stay at with my teenager. Clean, quiet, comfy beds and good towels. Friendly, very helpful staff. Yeah, you have to press the button in the shower every 30 seconds or whatever, but for a hostel, it’s just perfect for those who are looking for a place with good food and a safe, beautiful environment.
Great Stay
Really enjoyed our stay here. Walking distance to Salthill main street and the place was spotless. Bed was really comfortable and the room was nicely decorated with everything we needed.
I had someone come into my room at night. They were nice enough to comp a night and apologize for it without being prompted.
Fun experience meeting new people in this environment. Shower was a learning experience as I am not used to spring loaded shower fixtures.
Great beachside location on doorstep of various eating and drinking places. Amazing superking comfortable bed and neat rooms. Friendly welcoming staff.
Highly recommend The Nest
Excellent stay would highly recommend and hope to return soon!
Lobby area is very impressive - all staff we encountered were very friendly. Rooms were a little plainer than what was advertised.
Overnight in Galway
Lovely hostel with nice public seating area. The room itself was basic but nice and cosy with nice little details. The only issues we had was that the bed was not comfortable at all and as people were coming in during the night it was incredibly noisy.

Room was good for a night. Small bathroom so a bit hard to move round but overall had everything we needed.
