Very helpful staff and hotel was nice and clean
The receptionist was lovely and helpful to put my sister across hall. ❤️ We received a coupon for complimentary glass of wine at registration. Hotel looks much better in person than online photos Appreciated the quiet, spacious room, well appointed with self controlled thermostat. Food is always excellent and small rooms in lobby relaxing to start day with free coffee am. ❤️
The staff is awesome!
Excellent location and super friendly and helpful staff. Room was cleaned every day of our 10 day stay. Everyone was very nice and rate was awesome for downtown SF.
Nice affordable place to stay plus in safe area of city to walk around
Very clean ,spacious room. Staff in reception were very helpful. Proximity to shopping and transportation is excellent. I would revisit
Beautiful old hotel in a good downtown location. Easy to walk to cable car and transport. Restaurant very nice and lovely seating areas to relax with fireplaces. Only downside is if you walk in the wrong direction from the hotel by one block you are in a very dodgy part of the city.
The staff were very helpful and courteous and the location is also very convenient as a base for sightseeing around San Francisco
Wonderful property. Staff went above and beyond for us. Will stay there again.
Okay
We enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful hotel super clean, the beds were comfortable & the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be staying again.
They kept my luggage until my flight departed big help
Place was outdated, carpet was super dirty so beware bring house shoes. The shower had hair, and restroom had trash in the trash can upon arrival. The tv did not work nor did the outlet near the tv. The hallway light also did not work. We report the night we stood was told no one can help until next day. Place was not clear overall. Its surroundings beware BEWARE full of homeless, some with mental illness yelling. Just not safe at all
Steven is a gem. His care, excitement and kindness made us feel welcome and at the right hotel. Central location near BART and Pier 39. The proximity to Tenderloin is ok, if you exit and head toward Union square which is very near the hotel.
Lovely staff. Really nice room
Great location, friendly staff!
The staff was professional and friendly!
Everything was great and they’re so nice! I felt safe and it was relaxing.
Amazing hotel. Definitely recommend
Staff was nice food was ok , hotel not too clean
Beautiful and small hotel. Very clean and the staff is very friendly.
Beautiful place to stay with awesome staff!
The property don’t have room service for food. The staff on reception desk is friendly.
We like the maid service
Hotel is older, but well kept and beautiful inside. All the staff is super friendly and helpful. The window seat was lovely overlooking the street below. Would stay here again!
Good and satisfied
Looking forward to coming back already!
Beautiful, clean, great service, nice restaurant and bar in hotel. Highly recommend!
The size of the suite, and the kindness of personnel.
Staff kind and helpful
Very good
The homeless was to much for me
Excellent!
Such a neat place! Great staff, very clean, the restaurant is amazing! I love staying there around Christmas, the decorations are so pretty!
Hotel was great and clean. Although parking needs to be more explained.
Wonderful friendly staff and a beautiful hotel! Everything was clean and well decided for the holidays
Great staff. Well maintained. Had a great feeling about it
The staff and accommodations were amazing. There was some noise due to the strike, but the staff were super helpful and accommodating to get us an interior room that was more quiet. I would stay there again without a doubt. Beautiful and comfortable.
Exceptional service and accommodations
Luxury experience within the walls of the hotel which is highly valuable. I felt comfortable, safe, and refreshed staying at the Marker. It is a gem.
Found a gem
Excepcional place to spend a night or a whole week in SF will definitely stay here while in the city and highly recommend. Melinda at reception welcomed us with kindness and professionalism.
They never give me the room i book i have to go to front desk and get them to change rooms to the room i booked this is the 4th time and they dont release my deposit they srill bave not. 2 weeks sorry for bad writing dont have my glasses
We loved our stay at The Marker Hotel. We felt very comfortable and safe, the hotel team went above and beyond to help every guest. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We had worried with the hotel being on the edge of the Tenderloin area but we never had any issues and always turned right out of the front door. Would recommend to anyone visiting San Francisco this hotel.
Hotel was beautiful and nicely decorated for the season!! Staff was very attentive.
Beautiful hotel with excellent service
Amazing
Front desk service was excellent, room cleanliness and comfort a plus, the surrounding area was safe, convenient and close to Union square, considering there was very loud picketing down the street, our hotel was quiet and peaceful, we will stay here anytime while in SF and would recommend it to our friends and family.
Perfecf Location
Nice hotel. Lobby lounges and fire places are gorgeous. Rooms are nice and staff is super friendly and accommodating
Older and charming
I loved everything
Ate at the restaurant and both my friend and I got sick.has to take it easy the next day. Both of us ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. They changed the coupon so you can’t get beer, and the service just gets worse there. Doesn’t open till 7 to get a cup of coffee. This is the 3rd time I stayed at The Marker in the last 6 months and it will be the last time. I ended up paying $600 for 2 nights by the time you pay all the fees and valet parking. I love the lobbies and the rooms decor.
Had a great experience. The only thing was all the extra charges
The hotel was great, but there were protesters making noise starting at 7am. The homeless situation is out of control, fighting etc... not a safe feeling at night.
Excellent stay
Great stay. Very clean. Staff were very friendly.
Clean rooms and convenient locstion
Details did not express how parking accommodations were handled. This needs to be further explained.
This hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff so friendly and knowledgeable. It really is in the perfect location,a walk away from union which has all the shops and accessibility to wooden rail cars. The hotel was clean ..quiet beds extra comfortable. If i come back to San Fran I would only stay here . so really enjoyed my home away from home for the weekend and absolutely would recommend this hotel . 5 star !!
Nice hotel, affordable, well-situated and quiet. Unfortunately the hotel was very lax about reliable housekeeping service and I got tired of harassing them. Furthermore, they really could not have cared less they were not meeting their obligations in this area.
always awesome
this is my favorite go-to hotel when I'm staying in the city that I live in. they're great people. they treat everyone great. they have great restaurant downstairs although not available for room service but all around the exceptional service and the clean friendly atmosphere is always my go-to when I stay in the city
Overall a 10/10 hotel experience ! Very clean, with friendly staff. The surrounding area is sometimes sketchy but all my worries go away inside this hotel. Very close to Union Sq with tons of restaurants and stores. I will be coming here again!
Over all the hotel is good but some rooms are backing on to a very dirty back yards, rooftops, the mattress was in a bad shape, it is fully worn and need replacement. Room was bit tight. Charged 186$ destination fee.
Stayed a night for an anniversary and received great service. Staff were extremely nice and helpful.
Property is ok and staff is friendly. Unfortunately they charge a 75 dollar “refundable deposit” and charge you with a 40 dolar fee for amenities the next morning without any advise. This is very disappointing
Staff were very nice and friendly
They canceled my booking and wouldn’t even try to help. And I had to sleep in my car in very unsafe area.
Charming
Weekend getaway with my teenager. Fun. Pricey parking everywhere. $60 a day average. Clean room. Quiet!!!
Staff went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable! Friendly & accomodating all for a great price! Clean & organized & the restaurant attatched has delicious food for a resonable price as well, serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Our 4 day stay was perfect start to finish!
Beautiful hotel, clean rooms, and great service.
The staff was always friendly and welcoming every time I came and went. The room was nice and the bedding was very comfortable. Air-conditioning was also a nice feature and the gym had a full set of dumbbells and enough machines for a full body workout. The complimentary Path water bottle in the room was also a nice touch! Great place to stay!
Lovely remodeled old hotel. Front desk team was excellent.
Staff helped us a lot. Coffee and tea every morning is very convenient. Good location and excellent rooms.
I felt so cozy staying at The Marker and did not want to come home. Will definitely stay again next time I am in San Francisco!
Absolutely stunning hotel
We had a great stay at The Marker. A beautiful hotel. The staff were so incredibly friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful and elegant hotel. Our room upgrade and welcome bottle of wine were a plus! Very nice and clean overall and our room was very spacious. We brought our two dogs and the front desk personnel gave them treats which they of course’s loved. I highly recommend this hotel and will plan to stay here again when we’re back in the city.
The people were so friendly and the hotel is beautiful. We had a good stay
Great location , nice clean rooms , they are green
Nice and super friendly
Centre of Union square but area has a serious homeless problem.
I stayed at many hotels in San Francisco and this hotel is definitely my favorite. From now on I’m only staying here. The service was top notch, clean rooms, love the vintage style and it was walkable to restaurants and stores.
Great experience staying here. Recomended
Wow, 5 stars
Pleasant stay I had with this hotel. Hotel staff were very nice upon check in and out. Our hotel room had a view of the hotel back alley way and there were homeless people that were in plain sight as we looked out our window.Had one night we were woken up by these people and they were out there being pretty loud. When I looked out the window these individuals were consuming drugs and playing loud music. We could not sleep the first night. The rest of our stay was pretty quiet. We stayed 3 nights.
ok
The Staafs are really cool specially the Receptionists. They are great in letting you know the tips and tricks to roam around SF, if you are first timer. The Union square is just a couple of steps. Great Atmosphere!
the staff at this property were outstanding. I stayed here for a month because of work in San Francisco. I travel with my pet so the pet friendly option was a huge plus for me. Not only did the staff know me by name, but also my pet's name (and sometimes treats were provided). My spouse stayed with me the majority of it and he lives with a disability. The staff took extra care to make sure he was comfortable as well. The downtown area of San Francisco is very unfortunate with the homeless population, but there is not much the Marker can do about that. their exquisite attention to detail from the staff makes a welcoming atmosphere inside.
Just a great option in a good location and priced fairly. I’ll stay here again.
Spacious and cool hotel!
Great experience! Hotel staff are amazing! Cool and kitchy! Neighborhood has tons of bars and restaurants! Use caution on a couple of surrounding streets. There is one called Jones St. avoid it...
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole place was spotless. The prices in the restaurant were kind of expensive for breakfast but nothing too bad. We would definitely stay at the Marker again in the future.
Beautiful hotel
It was decent enough, as in it's a bed. Very close to the tenderloin. Urine on the streets in the morning and the staff waited till after I had given them my credit card to let me know if additional fees. Will not stay here again there was also black mold in my vents which I'm allergic to
Rooms were clean, staff were helpful. I had an issue with the HVAC in the room, the staff were very helpful in having me moved to a different room. It's located around the edge of the tenderloin so there are some rougher spots south west of the hotel.
The hotel itself was good, but the area was on the line of dangerous with many homeless nearby. There was not very many amenities.
The hotel staff greeted us with kindness and smiles throughout our stay. Despite initial concerns due to news reports in the area, it was not like that, we had an exceptional experience. Claire at the front desk stood out, but all staff members were friendly and helpful, providing valuable guidance and information, from check-in to room service and the concierge. While the room showed signs of wear, the excellent service made us overlook its flaws.
I love my experience
Fit our requirements
Overnight stay with inwards destination- short n sweet. It was exactly what we required/ room was a bit dull and pokey but we arrived in late and were gone early next morning- one thing though!! Pillows were horrendous- had no substance to them
Clean and nicely appointed hotel close to Union Square and SOMA. Surprisingly well-equipped gym. The rooms are quite nice, but a bit on the smaller side but the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. The hotel is close to lots of restaurants, but the area can be a bit rough, but that’s what you would expect staying in that area.
Felt like home.
Rudy at the front desk was awesome. The valet is a must. The maid actually decorated the kids bed with their stuffed animals.
Great stay! Zero complaints.
The place is beautiful and such a good place to be with those prices! I would stay there again. The only thing I wish I double check was about parking. There is a valet service but it wasn’t worth it for the asking price since the garage was around the corner.
It was our first time in San Francisco. A lady at the reception area, Blanca, could not do enough for us. She went out of her way to get and provide information for us throughout the trip. We had an early flight on our departure date and were concerned with traffic due to the San Francisco marathon being held that morning. When we returned from our adventures of the day, she had a map printed out to avoid traffic delays getting to the airport on marathon morning.
The Marker Union Square hotel in San Francisco was wonderful to stay with. Greeted by the most friendly staff you could ask for. I really enjoyed the dinning option at the hotel it is a sit down restaurant but the food was delicious.
