I loved how stylish, convenient and well designed my room was... as well as the property in general. The lounge, restaurant, and outdoor patio space are fabulous yet intimate for being in such a busy quaint area like Azabu-Juban. The Lively is my first and only choice for staying in Azabu-Juban. I definitely will book a stay anytime I am Tokyo. The staff were amazing as well.
I will stay here every time I need an Azabu Juban area vacation!!! The hotel is stylish convenient and very comfortable.
Wonderful boutique hotel in Tokyo located near Roppongi! Very friendly staff and extremely comfortable and decently spacious (by Japan standards) room. Only stayed for a couple nights because they were fully booked but otherwise would've stayed here even longer.
Well designed
Fell very short of expectations
Stayed here for 7 days. Staff are non existant and not very helpful. Doesnt feel like a hotel, and you feels like your constantly chasing staff vs being served. I was told that if you put DND on the door the room wont be cleaned at all. Cleaning staff finish early everyday compared to a normal hotel. Several times went to front desk and ringing the bell and no one showes up for 5 to 10min everytime,l. I wouldnt really call it a "hotel" as its lacking ao many amenities. Very expensive for what you are actually getting service wise. Location is great, very convenient to underground trains, and lovely food options around...
I stayed there two nights. the breakfast was included, but at the first morning after night stay, it took them over one hour to serve a simple breakfast for me. it was too slow.
TOKYO 2024
Great stay, great hotel and location.
I liked the common spaces in the hotel, and the top floor bar. But the room was very small. Tight for two people. Based on that, I would not return.
Great location and beautiful rooms. Walking distance to many restaurants/bars and only a 5-7 minute walk to the local train station Staff is attentive and helpful, they also speak great English. There’s a nice bar on the top floor and free beer on tap / snacks in the lobby from 4-6pm!
Great Stay!
Great location and very comfortable stay
Great stay and location
Yy
The hotel is nice and the neighborhood too! I booked a king room, the room neither the bed was a king size, but that’s what you get in Japan in middle range hotels
good place to have your trip HQ.
It was a good stay. The room was perfect for one person with a medium bag. I like to unpack, and I could do this in this room. The fold down desk was great. The downstairs bar has a happy hour that I participated in. The upstairs bar has a nice view. The neighborhood was great - lots of neat restaurants. Train station was close, and it was easy to get here from Haneda.
What a great hotel. Very clean and the service is excellent. Breakfast was really good despite there being only four options. Loved the iced coffee with brown sugar and milk. Would definitely return.
Great
Upbeat place. Nice staff and clean rooms. Very small rooms, but nice.
I've stayed there a few times, very nice and well located.
Amazing Staff and Cocktails
The staff at Lively went above and beyond to help us find a way to get to Osaka after the storm and having to stay an extra night. I can’t thank them enough for all their help and caring. They will be in my memories for a memorable stay. The room itself was great and the Orange Cream Soda cocktail is a must have at their bar!!!
convenient location
Gorgeous hotel in a great neighbourhood away from the hectic centre but with 2 subway stations on different lines in close proximity. Loved the boutique flair of the hotel. Free snacks and coffee were excellent and the social area was really lovely. Slept really fantastically, super comfy bed. Breakfast was decent, set menu options were good but the coffee was really great. Subsequently travelled to other hotels in Japan and found myself missing The Lively!
Location terrific and close to transportation. Hotel and rooms well appointed, with efficient use of space. ‘Free beer’ 5:40 -6:30 daily, with coffee, teas, and snacks out 24/7. Staff were responsive and helpful. No laundry services at hotel, but self service is very close by. Second floor restaurant and deck are nice. bar at top level has good drinks, bar food, and views. I would stay again.
Shout out to Tammy at the front desk. She provided outstanding service.
Best location. Friendly stafff. No English news channels on TV
Amazing place!
Nice boutique hotel in a upscale residential area very sleek and modern, room a bit small but to be expected in Tokyo, overall a nice hotel to stay in Tokyo
Lovely and accommodating
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay here. The room was small, but that is to be expected in Tokyo. When we had an unexpected travel change, they helped us without any problems and helped adjust our reservation. I would stay again if traveling with one or two people. I would consider the bigger room for a family of four.
The wifi password was so small on the key card that I thought it was hill lively not hi!lively! The front desk staff were excellent especially Tammy. I suggest a card written in Japanese with the hotel address especially for taxis. I woo suggest my friends stay here.
This is truly a lovely boutique hotel that's conveniently located in one of the nicest neighborhoods of Tokyo.
Great location and great staff. Comfortable and spacious room. Great king size bed.
Lovely Boutique Hotel
I spent a great week here. The area is nice, residential and quite quiet but plenty of restaurants, coffee shops etc and a subway stop a couple of minutes away. The hotel itself was fantastic I thought - my room was very clean with a great shower and the bed was a good size (I'm 6 ft). There is a very nice bar on the 9th floor and another off from the 2nd floor reception. I got breakfast included - eggs Benedict with a thick slice of ham was my choice, which was delicious! The receptionists were very friendly and spoke good English. The photos you see on the travel websites are a good representation of what you get. Not a complaint, but I did find the hotel quite quiet in terms of seeing a lot of other guests.
Great little boutique hotel in a lovely neighbourhood. Loved it
Good central location on the west side of Tokyo, about 20min to most other cities. Walking distance to Tokyo tower and popular eateries
Azabu-Juban has a village atmosphere full of great restaurants and shops, close to many places worth visiting. The subway is very close by.
Very disappointed that the hotel or Hotels.com refused to change my dates and instead charged me for 2 nights. Won't be booking again.
The Lively is the best choice for your stay when wanting to be near downtown. The neighborhood. Azabu-Juban, has a great village vibe with lots of great dining and shopping. Close to transit and near Tokyo Tower. It is one of the only hotels in this area where our son lives. We are lucky to stay there!
Hotel was beautiful with awesome staff that's willing to help, The hotel was in a nice upscale area with stores, restaurantseverywhere(You'll see very expensive cars over in this area... Walking distance from train stations. Hotel is small which wasn't a problem but it was a little problem with the rooms being tiny,Beds small and really wasn't that comfy, Nowhere to really put your luggage and they didn't have a gym if you wanted to workout. Loved that the 7/11 was right downstairs though.
Nice choice
Looks new and clean, good room space (consider in Tokyo)
Fantastic staff and room! The staff were amazing and incredibly friendly from when we arrived to when we checked out. The hotel was located close to the station so was a great base for exploring Tokyo. Our room was on the smaller side but didn't bother us much as we weren't in the room much during the day. Highly recommend!
It was cool. Not worth the $1200 price tag with minimal breakfast options or dinner options. Especially coming from another hotel that was half the price, more amenities and equally close access to the subway system. The people were nice.
nice hotel neighborhood young atmosphere & design
This is a fantastic hotel: it is clean and centrally located.
Nice hotel, nice area
Very awesome place, the hotel and the room gave off a very cozy place which was very relaxing.
We'd definitely pick this hotel again for a future visit. Comfortable and practical room, charming walking neighborhood, and walking distance to a convenient subway line.
Molly at the front desk really made our stay quite enjoyable.
Excellent overall.
Tiny bed! I feel like there’s not much point even reviewing the other parts of the stay (which were all mostly good) when the bed is such a let down. Smallest hotel bed we’ve ever been in. We are an average size man and woman and there wasn’t enough space for us both to lie on our backs. When one person was on their back, the other was on their side, it was a bit ridiculous. Uncomfortable pillows and uncomfortable bed full stop. I’ve stayed in much smaller rooms with bigger beds so feel like that’s not an adequate excuse either. Other than that service, breakfast and amenities were all good.
Loved this hotel! The rooms were perfect, the decor in the common areas were stunning. 10/10
With a building site next door and some really unusual hours around construction the noise was really evident between 2am and 5am which was not conducive to sleeping. House keeping was hit and miss and our last linen change resulted in smell sheets. Nice hotel concept but it does not deliver
Pleasant hotel in good location very modern
Everything was great, the staff from check out could be bit more friendly
Amazing hotel and lobby. Great coffee and beer and pool table. Location is fantastic
Nice neighbourhood and easy access to most places in Tokyo
I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay. It’s a little pricey but seriously worth it if you ask me. The location is amazing. I love how there was never a wait for the elevator, and as soon as I step outside there are dozens of delicious restaurants and cafes to choose from. And like 5 grocery stores with 5 blocks. Very upscale neighborhood
Very elegant property on a trendy neighborhood. Short walk to Roppongi Hills. The quality of service was top notch!
Excellent in nearly every regard. Excellent location, excellent room, excellent service!
LOVED IT ALL...WISH THERE WAS A BATH... BREAKFAST WAS TERRIFIC. LOVE THE LOCATION. WOULD STAY AGAIN AND RECOMMEND IT. WISH THERE WERE SOME DRAWER OR CLOSET THOUGH..BUT OKAY FOR A SHORT STAY.
Loved it! Will stay again!
New and funky hotel
LOVE this hotel!! Everything about it was pleasant and delightful. It is a small boutique hotel in a quaint and beautiful area.
This is a fantastic hotel in a great neighborhood. Wonderful reception area on 2nd floor with pool table, chess and free beer and snacks during happy hour 530-630pm. Stylish top floor cocktail bar upstairs with indoor and outdoor seating with nice views open till midnight. Restaurants and grocery shopping in walkable and lively residential neighborhood. Five mins from Azabujyuban subway station. Rooms are not huge, but new, well appointed and superbly organized. Delicious Western breakfast with multiple options and indoor/ outdoor terrace seating on 2nd floor. Great service. I couldn’t rate this hotel higher and plan to stay here every time I go back to Tokyo.
The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! All of the areas are very clean. Lots of amenities.
Very good stay
Great location and dining
great boutique hotel in lovely suburb of Tokyo close to transport and eating out. Highly recommend
I was in Tokyo to see my son who is at college there. The hotel was excellent to stay at and a lot cheaper than a stay at the Ritz Carlton. Excellent breakfast, super clean, comfortable and a phenomenal bar on the 9th floor with a great view and mixologists. Great place.
I love staying at The Lively! Very chic and modern, the customer service is always great! Highly recommend!!!
Pictures on website for loft room are a little deceptive as the room is actually quite small. The absence of laundry facilities would’ve proven enormously problematic had we not had an exterior terrace area to dry clothing we needed to wash in the bath tub. A little annoying. Overall, guaranteed a mostly pleasant stay provided you’re willing to wash laundry in the bath tub and hang it from an outdoors chair.
Chose this place for the last two nights in Tokyo before leaving with the family after almost 21 years. The room size is standard for central Tokyo (ie small) but the shower was decent and the room was immaculate. Facilities great - in addition to being in Prime Azabu Juban, the rooftop bar is chic and elegant while the lobby bar entrance kept my children and me entertained with the music and pool table.
Location, location, location. This place has all three to a tee. This is going to be my go-to hotel in Tokyo.
The stuff that cleans the room was no good- everyday forgot something, one day left us a wet duster rag and their personal stuff, the other day took our pagamas and etc.
Everything about the hotel and the staff deserves 5 stars! Exceptionally clean facility and most accommodating personnel. An excellent choice.
The Lively was a perfect place for us to stay. Our son lives in Azabu Juban, so we were close to him. Transportation connections were close by. There was plenty of dining in the area and the 7-11 next door was a frequent stop. The hotel is clean, modern well equipped and the staff were friendly and accommodating. /We would stay here again!
Very cute hotel with nice amenities. Location was convenient and room was cozy for a short stay.
A great location in village-like neighborhood, close to the subway. Plenty of eateries and bars close by. Quiet room and the staff and amenities were excellent. I would definitely stay here again!
I had an excellent experience from the moment I checked in to the moment I left!
Excelente hotel! Si vuelvo a Tokyo sin dudas iría a este hotel.
Everyone & everything was great except for the lack of light in the bathroom. Very dim and when standing at the sink you only could see one side of your face. Other than that - terrific.
Fantastic location and fabulous hotel! I’ll definitely be back!
We loved it
Family of 5 - we loved the loft room. Neighborhood was great location. Staff was helpful and kind.
Clean, modern hotel with a perfect Tokyo location. Great access to restaurants and transit system as well as the popular tourist spots for travelers who are into that. Great lobby, super helpful staff, rooms are typical Tokyo size but exceptionally clean and well stocked with whatever you need. Much better option than an older, Western-brand hotel.
Modern vibe.
It was a great experience all around
Fun and easy
Great hotel and amenities
We were really excited to come and stay at this hotel. We had come visit a friend a few years prior and told ourselves if we ever came back, we would stay here. We booked three nights, and as soon as we walked into the room, we were so disappointed at the complete lack of cleanliness of the rooms. There is dust everywhere, and there was even pee and feces stains on the toilet. We went downstairs to request another room and about half an hour later they moved us into another room, however it is still quite dusty. There was another pee stain on the toilet, and overall just makes us not want to stay here. The towels are not comfortable and worn - not soft and cozy. The coffee machine serves watery coffee and the machine keeps breaking down. This is clearly not Japanese standard and we aren’t sure how management allows this to happen. This is worse than north American standard. Bed itself feels sunken in. Bedsheets are nice though. Interior Design is great. We also found one of the receptionists sleeping in the lounge. It’s unfortunate…I understand the economy has not been kind to the hotel industry but this level of experience is really disappointing.
Staff couldn't give me late checkout to 12 despite many rooms empty.
Nice little hotel in a very nice location; the room was clean and had nice furniture/appointments
Expect a small romm. Charging extra for a 'theater' room that does not work needs work
Loved it!
Stayed in many hotels in Tokyo area and this one is by far my favorite one!
Perfect For "Staycation"
Amazing location, near some of our favorite restaurants in Tokyo. The hotel is super new and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us in every way we requested. Will definitely stay hear again, soon.
Bilingual staff that is really friendly. Check in and check out took me less than 5 minutes total. Quiet location, no issues with noise at night.
This property is amazing! So many thought out details that made it so comfortable to stay in. I had big windows and didn’t want to close the curtains which posed a problem when getting out of the shower, but there was a sliding door that enclosed the bath area so I didn’t have to always close the curtains. Much more convenient to close that door. The lounge air has these comfortable swings to have some water or coffee in. The bar upstairs is decorated exquisitely and is a true cocktail bar! I will choose Lively in the future and anywhere in the world.
Fantastic Hotel. Amazing Staff. Especially Mimi Goto and Charlotte.
Very clean, modern and stylish. Staff were very friendly. Lobby had a pool table which was free to play and there was also free tea/coffee. Free beers are available in the lobby from 5:30-6:30 which was nice if you're around the hotel then. The loft room was spacious and we had a fun stay. Only down side with the hotel is that there are no laundry facilities, so we had to walk about 5 minutes to the nearest one. Nearest station is about 15 minutes walk.
New property near roppongi area, few minutes walking to roppongi hill, surrounded by many restaurants and convenience store, helpful staff and most of all great value for the price offered
Hip hotel. Nice rooms. Nice quiet friendly residential neighborhood.
The interior is super nice! Very hip and modern. Will definitely come back and stay again the next time we go back to Japan.
Excellent value for money if booked early enough. Central location very convenient.
Cant fault it! Would stay here again :)
Could not fault the experience! They do free beer for an hour so guests gather and get to know each other, staff were great, decor in the place was great and practical and the rooms are spacious considering it’s japan! Also as a nice surprise we got two free drink vouchers as we were celebrating an anniversary for the bar upstairs which was phenomenal! Unfortunately I was sick so I had that one drink and left but the cocktails are so yummy I would’ve had more if I was feeling better. Even if you don’t stay here you should go up to the bar, great views and the staff were very skilful.
Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff, higly recommended.
