A call asking me to close my bedroom door, when I walked to get something I forgot in my vehicle
MY EXPERIENCE WAS MORE THAN TERRIBLE. Although I was charged for an Expedia booking for two nights, the property unilaterally decided to back date the booking dates and ask the guest to leave after one night stay only. When I complained to Expedia about the breach of agreement and the double charge, all what they did was to shower me with apologies and offering a minor compensation ... not even in cash but in Expedia credit .
Standard LA hotel that isn’t a chain. Could be cleaner. Obvious wear and tear, but bed was comfortable, shower was fine, free parking was a huge plus, and minimal noise.
Lots of homeless aggressive people around. Very unsafe. Staff was terrible, completely unfriendly, rude, angry and deplorable.
It was ok
Expensive cheap room
Bed not that comfortable. No amenities. Noisy street noise. Pricey for what you get.
Bed sheets had a few oil stains. As well as no blurred curtains, therefore, no natural sunlight unless viewing it to the parking lot
Old hotel but kept clean. The hotel could use a renovation, especially the springy beds. The area in which the hotel is none desirable but we didn’t have any issues with the people loitering around there. The staff was very friendly and made it easy to check in. Although we weren’t impressed with the hotel, it’s in a centralized area, which means we would consider staying there again in the future when we go to a Dodger game or explore downtown. It’s a couple of miles away from the Dodger stadium and maybe 5 miles away from El Capitan Theater. Overall solid hotel.
The location to the ballpark cannot be beat. You are minutes away. The room was CLEAN with zero issues. Microwave, (cold) fridge, iron, extra towels, liquid soaps, but no coffee maker. The location is right on Sunset, so the street traffic is terribly noisy (which cannot be changed). I brought ear plugs and suggest you do the same. Highly recommend The Lexmar!
There was no coffee. The room did not have a coffee maker, the office did not have any coffee at all. Our option was to walk down to a market about a block away.
Great room, property well cared for, room had all the essentials. Bed was clean and comfortable, work table was handy. Everything worked as it should. Right off the #4 and #2 bus line for quick access. Sunset Blvd offered a lot of dining and services within a few minutes walk.
Good for short time
Overall, the place was really nice. I was impressed. I thought it was gonna be worse not bad at all.
This was by far the nastiest hotel I’ve stayed in. The staff were sweet during check in and that’s the only plus. The bathroom was filthy. The sheets had a blood stain on it. The shower sprayed water from the top. The toilet was dirty and the towels had yellow stains. I will never stay here again.
It was quiet and clean and comfortable
Fast and easy
A/C wasn’t updated in my room so it was either freezing or not cold enough. Parking seemed scarce so I always felt lucky when I found a spot. Lastly, I did have some slight issues with the card swipe on the door but I was able to make it work. Other than that it was a fine experience for one night
For the price you can’t beat it. Close to the dodger stadium, parking sucks and the entrance to the ally is a bit sketchy and narrow. But over all for a one night stay I’d do it again
Convenient location, walking distance to Dodger Stadium.
This is great for going to Dodger Stadium. A short Uber ride each way
We didn't quite like the area my husband and I thought the hotel was right by dodger stadium and it wasn't the neighborhood isn't right for us! The woman I spoke to when I booked this hotel told me that it is right by dodger stadium and it is NOT so she lied to me I think I deserve my full refund back
Nice room and good customer service!
Its okay, room had a weird smell.
There was a large cockroach in the shower!
My only problem was the bed, it has some metal case that makes a lot of noise by little contact.
Unfortunate
The location was not bad. I honestly felt safe. However, I requested a room with Wheelchair accessibility, They apparently provided the room with this. When I got there, the room was wide, however, for someone who needs to be in their wheelchair The whole time they did NOT accommodate this. I had to ask my Friend to stay at another location because they couldn’t stay with me. We had to do rotations between sleeping here and at Children’s Hospital.
Everything was will until i went to check out , i was told upon arrival no smoking of any kind at the hotel and go to the street , which i followed. Asked to check out, she says okay, radios an employee to check the room and says 'it smells like weed and there was weed crumbs . Im like ... okay... well i didnt smoke in the room i went to the street like you guys said, and she asked if i rolled weed in there and told me i shouldnt roll weed up the room i paid for which is craaaazy. And acted like she wasnt going to give a deposit back .
Great location, clean place and very nice front desk staff. Great value for the price.
Refrigerator was really nasty and smelled really bad and was also leaking water inside of it. There was dust everywhere as well. It needs better cleaning as people wouldn't want to stay at a hotel that isnt properly sanitized for guests and as well as having a proper working fridge for those who need it
I'd stay there again, on a budget.
Lots of traffic noise! Cheaper place to stay, and neighborhood was somewhat gritty. Liked the maid service! The room was OK for me, with a little microwave and fridge! Front desk people were nice and friendly. Walking distance to food and coffee on Sunset Blvd. Near downtown LA!
Hotel of Choice
This is my hotel of choice for overnight stays in Echo Park. It is walkable and convenient for all I need. The rooms are well appointed, the staff friendly, and the parking is sufficient.
Great service
No coffee pot in the room. Or the office. No breakfast, very high-priced with no ammenities.
Will never stay here again.
This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. Although the room was nice and the front desk was nice, the place has VERY thin walls and you can hear EVERYTHING. Felt like someone was in the bathroom talking ALL NIGHT! That's how clear it was. Banging on the walls from next door, people running down the walkways and since it was right on busy street, could hear everything there too. Got maybe an hour of sleep. I will never stay here again and not worth the price at all.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!! This is a MOTEL. Looks nothing like the pictures on Expedia. They didn’t offer any toiletries. They had one “shampoo/conditioning soap” dispenser in the shower. They had no body soap, no conditioner for your hair. The parking is RIDICULOUS. They have about 5 parking spaces in the front then you have to park in the back of the MOTEL. Then the parking in the back is so small that you can barely even pull out if there’s a car parked next to you. I literally had to back all the way out of the driveway because I wasn’t able to turn around. It’s located in a very sketchy area. Right on a Main Street so you can hear cars all night. Not to mention people outside all hours of the night. The people upstairs were so loud it was ridiculous. One if you have kids I don’t recommend staying here. Two, I don’t recommend staying here at all. But if you’re someone who doesn’t care about the environment I named above then this place may work for you.
Our hotel experience was limited only by the character count of this review; otherwise, every detail of this nightmarish stay would be disclosed. Upon arrival, the desk attendant was pleasant, yet our room fell short: tiny pillows, tiny tiny towels. When I sought more, the response was to wait for housekeeping. Come morning, with housekeeping carts but no staff, I took initiative to exchange towels and discard trash. This mundane act was met with a housekeeper, previously unseen, now sprinting towards me, screaming about taking extra towels. Confronting Isabella at the front desk, I was met with her astonishing rudeness, aggressively enforcing a dubious two-towel policy. A call to Expedia debunked this "policy." At checkout, Isabella's hostility continued by saying she had to have the room inspected, because she’s sure of damage. This started another psychotic episode from her. But all of that vanished upon seeing a video I took of our self-cleaned room, resulting in a reluctant receipt handover. This hotel's glaring faults: horrendous service, deceptive room portrayals, a daunting neighborhood, and decaying bathroom doors, make it a cautionary tale. If zero stars were an option, that'd be my rating. Beware, this place is an absolute catastrophe. Stay far away. Far far away. You will regret your choice.
Mediocre motel, expected more.
There is no breakfast as the listing shows, or even an in room coffee maker. Holes in the bath towels. Fine if youre renting by the hour. Staff nice, but overpriced for value.
Eh
It was overpriced for what it was, but it was convenient since it was close to the place we needed to go
Nice stay! The front desk staff were kind and attentive. The room was clean and well-equipped with amenities. My only complaint is that the walls were somewhat thin so we could hear people talking outside very clearly. There are several spots to eat nearby and it’s close to the park. It was perfect for our stay!
The rooms look decent from the photos, but in person, the rooms are somewhat dirty. However, the real problem with the rooms is the beds, which are some of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever tried sleeping on. They seemed like they were filled with cardboard and sand, and the pillows were so thin that they provided no support. Also, the cleaning product used to clean the rooms is so strong that the smell lingered for my entire stay. Between the smell and the terrible bed, this was one of the worst night sleeps I've ever had.
Super close easy walk to dodger stadium. Looks surface level clean but just know you’ll be sleeping with baby roaches and spiders in every corner, you get what you pay for so can’t complain.
Went to a festival at Dodger Stadium and this place was such a convenient location and it seemed newly renovated so it was nice there was staining on my sheets tho lol
Extremely NOISY
Nice & convenient
The rooms were nicely remodeled and clean
Check in was quick and easy.Room provided more than I expected, by having microwave and small refrigerator. Very clean. Thank you
No parking
Surrounding area is in poor condition. Staff was very friendly. Room interiors were acceptable.
The hotel itself was fine. The room was clean. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy.
Always fits our needs! If you need a fancy over the top hotel don’t stay here, but practical and for people who only use the room to sleep because we are out living life & adventuring - this is for you! Staff is polite and helpful. Always clean. WiFi works now. Close to everything. Pricing worth it too.
There was a lot of dust on the floor near the nightstand and desk. Volume on the TV would turn off and on. At night all we could hear were the people next door having sex.
They have done a good job of updating the property, but it is definitely in a sketchy part of town. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the sirens and noise of the city was over the top. Pretty sure there was a bunch of gun shots as well.
Property was close to many Great places.
The stay in this hotel was a bit disappointing, We could not sleep because of the noise of cars passing by. There are no double glaze windows Also we find it a bit dusty. The AC was very loud so we had to turn it off. The bathroom was clean.
Professional and very pleasant staff, nice room
The room was nice and the service friendly I will definitely recommend to others!
Very nice and clean room. Neighborhood may not be ideal, but we found it acceptable.
Everyone here on staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and informative.
The hotel was clean and newly updated. The area around the hotel was questionable
You get what you pay for. Its not the best bed for sleeping but it filled our needs for a spot to rest in a nice area close by everything we went to LA for.
Check in was easy. $100 deposit , house keeping is daily and the lady is really nice. The area is just like any place in LA, so of course it’s dirty , tagged, a bunch of ppl walking around etc. parking is very limited in the front, they have back parking. The room is a decent size , bed is decent as well. Water pressure , hot and cold water is all good. The bathroom / shower is a bit small, so if you’re really big you might not like it. There is a good size mini fridge and microwave , the tv has cable with ok channels. The ac/heater is the old style ones but it works. Super loud though but u get use to it. And yes walls are a bit thin but no big deal. At night you can head every car passing by, if you turn on the ac it shuts down the noise….I did HATE that my room was a none smoking but as soon as I walked in you could tell the last guest had been smoking , I had to get a candle cus it was sooo bad. Over all.. it was a decent place for a quick trip.
Decent room at a fair price
Room was comfortable and clean. An unexpected surprise considering the price point and rating. Parking was easy and everything in the roomed worked properly and was well maintained considering. No complaints.
Decent stay, noise from outside was the only let down, but that was due to other rude people walking by
Excelente people and very clean place. I recommend this place.
The tv was not working , I had to call front desk to fix it. Noisy very early in the morning. Not a lot of parking
Stay was okay ,only complaint is the bed..hard as a rock and we couldn't get comfortable, otherwise fairly decent place to stay for the price
There was no soap in the restroom.
The room was okay, and the staff were nice enough, but I don't feel like it was worth the upcharge on the weekend of the concert. This hotel is just your room and nothing else about it (no amenities). Not even a free breakfast of any sort.
Room had a smell to it. The bed was dirty too. There was some visible dirt on the made bed. Otherwise, it was fine. A place to sleep after a show at Dodger stadium.
This hotel is in a very sketchy neighborhood. Gang tags everywhere. No where to eat in the area. The walls between rooms are paper thin. Also, you can listen to sirens all night long. I would not recommend this hotel. You should take it off your site.
Nice overnight stay
Check in was easy and the lady was friendly. Room was nicely remodeled. We got lucky with the parking and go to park near room otherwise we would had had to park out around hotel. Went to see a concert @ Dodger Stadium used UBER to got but the hotel was close enough to walk back.
Decent chill place
Comfy small space near by restaurants and bars
Great, nice friendly staff. I will stay there again!
Perfectly fine overnighter
Overnight stay was great! Cute room, clean, and easy to access. Short walk to the Echoplex where we were seeing a show.
Friendly, helpful staff. Great location, easy parking. Room was clean and comfortable.
I will never stay here ever again. I also recommend no one else stay here either.
Satisfied
Very clean rooms, great price
The bed was super comfy and the room was nice. The neighborhood was exactly what we were looking for. Short walk to cool places for dining and shopping. I would definitely return
NA
Location, location, location.
A little overpriced, no coffee or continental breakfast no dodger shuttle and the smell of fabuloso in the room was so strong I had to use my inhaler many times. I paid over 400 for two nights and the soda machine was out of order, will look for something different next time.
Its alright
Can’t beat the value!
We stayed a couple of days, and went to dodger game. Location for game was excellent!! About five to ten minutes away from stadium. Looks newly renovated and although near busy road, with a/c unit on you can barely notice. Can’t beat the value!
Shower didnt work. Fridge didnt work. Smelled nasty.
Staff stood outside my room and waited for my guests to leave who were there for less than 5 minutes.
Very clean and relatively close to stadium I would still drive to the stadium, the way back on foot was a little rough
.
Parking was limited.
Second time staying. Convenient and friendly. Basic no frills (they do have micro/fridge) and parking is limited. Only complaint both times is the wifi. Wifi is impossible and horrible. Otherwise, it’s perfect for what we needed.
Close to Dodgers stadium and convenient to visit family.
Room was very clean, housekeeping came daily. Well insulated from street noise, though I was expecting it to be louder. Area is gritty/industrial. This is a renovated motel, not a hotel. Limited parking in front, parking in back seemed a bit worrisome as one day there was someone just sitting in the dark alleyway, apparently drinking
It was within walking distance of Dodger Stadium, so it was great
Small room, horrible bed, no shampoo or conditioner, bad area. Pictures don’t look like reality.
For a last minute pick the room was decent. The area is horrible there was a bunch of sketchy people, one man pulled out a knife on 2 of us. The parking is super limited. Theres 4 parking spots in the front of the building and 12 more in an alley in the back where it’s creepy to park.
A quiet place at a decent price
Great location and clean
Pretty good location. Friendly staff and safe parking lot. Clean and unexpectedly quiet considering the location. The bedrooms look like they were Newley remodeled. Great place if you have a bunch of fun plans in LA and you just need a place to crash and rest.
The property was very convenient to where I needed to be. My room felt very clean until I saw the longest black hair against the sidewall of the shower. Then I started wondering how clean it really was. With that being said I would stay there again.
Location Work Life Easier
The stay the location was perfect. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Newly remodeled room very nice. My suggestion with traffic noise solution was to turn the fan on problem solved I slept like a baby. I only had problems with the room key maybe it was just me but the staff always came to my rescue. I would most definitely recommend this property.
This was my third stay at The Lexmar and everytime has been an excellent experience. The front desk staff was super helpful in moving us to another room due to the key lock on our door being broken. Always clean, friendly, & accommodating. Slightly noisy area, so best to seek other options if you're a light sleeper. Only about a mile away from Dodger Stadium - location is great! Lots of food options nearby. I will continue to stay at The Lexmar for all of our Dodger game trips. Thank you Lexmar!
