The Layar was amazing. The property is beautiful and well appointed. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The only downside is that it’s a bit out of the way with nothing around the villas. If you don’t mind a short walk or taxi ride, it’s perfect.

The villa is wonderful and has a wonderful design. I did not like the open bathroom and we asked to change the villa to a closed bathroom. Some people may like it. The breakfast is good but limited. The bed is not comfortable in proportion to a five-star rating. In general, the place is wonderful and it is possible for me to visit again.

The Layar 3 bedroom villa

Great location, great breakfast, friendly staffs. Great swimming pool. Tiny old TV size with no hdmi port in the room, good internet when it is working (sometimes no internet connection at night), sometimes no water at night. One of the toilets can’t flush properly. Overall, it was a good stay, my kids are happy with the pool and the huge wooden jenga game.

Relaxing luxurious stay at The Layar

The villa was excellent. It was clean, modern with many amenities provided. I requested early checkin at 12 noon and the possibility to have us picked up from a nearby villa in Seminyak we were staying the previous day. The butler came promptly on time and helped us checkin early and also took us directly to the villa on the complimentary buggy ride. The checkin was seamless and the butler took care of everything from our villa. The stay of 3 nights was the best one I had in Bali to date of my previous 5 visits. We ordered in room dining during our stay and in-villa massage. Food was delicious and came quickly. The masseurs were both very pleasant and skilful. In-villa breakfast were also delicious and came on time as our requested timing. Housekeeping was also done swiftly and fresh towels replaced as requested. I heard the neighbouring villa being power washed after the guests left, so that told me the villa places great emphasis on cleanliness. As with any open air villa with a garden and bathroom, there were some mosquitoes but not many as the villa does mosquitoe fogging and also spraying of insecticide every night. Killed 2 cockroaches in the bathroom as it’s open concept villa, so no real concern. Felt checkout was a little rushed though. While we understand they need to prepare the villa for next guests, the housekeeping and reception to avoid calling us 30 min prior to checkout simultaneously to do a check on minibar consumption, we would have given the villa a 10.

Amazing

Enjoyed our stay at The Layar, villa 2A. Our villa was lovely and very well maintained. Staff were very helpful and were available if we needed anything during our stay. The pool and garden were beautiful. Nice touches like a turn down service in the evening. The only slight downside was the noise from neighbouring villas at times. Would stay again.

Very impressive upon first impression lasting until the last! Staff was hospitable, attentive and polite. Requested a one bedroom villa but upon arrival was advised upgraded to a two!

Beautiful villa!The best in Seminyak so far for me

The villa was absolutely beautiful! It looked exactly as it did in the photos! I loved how each bedroom had their own outdoor showers. Also, they ask you what you want for breakfast the night before so that when you wake up, breakfast is already prepared by the dining area; it was so nice! The water in the pool was nice and warm as well, which made it really fun to just lounge around the villa and swim the whole day. We stayed in villa 13 and the only downside was the electricity got cut a couple of times during the day and it took awhile for maintenance to come and sort it out. Also, the third bedroom by the lower basement area had a funky smell under the bed. We told housekeeping about it but the smell was still there. Other than those two things, we enjoyed every bit of our vacation! Would definitely come back and stay in The Layar again!

excellent property maintenance

Fantastic stay at the Layar. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Ordered from the in-villa dining menu for most meals and had the poolside BBQ and in-villa private’s chef meal. Also had the in-vila massage service which was wonderful and relaxing. There was no need to leave the villa.

Liked the privacy but didn't like the layout as there was not much sun. The trees over the pool provided too much shade and kept dropping dead leaves full of aphids into the pool. Should trip back the branches and spray pesticides to kill the pests. Location is also a little out of way from retail shops and restaurants. No gym and beach on the property yet room charges are at a premium...

Great villa. Very Spacious with multiple living and relaxation spaces. Huge lovely pool surrounded by beautiful greenery. Lovely breakfast and meals in restaurant. Attentive staff over all aspects of property. Good location close to many of Seminyak’s highlights, shopping,food, bars, restaurants, etc. Or make use of the scheduled shuttle service for a quick drop off at places like Mrs Sippy, Potato Head, Kudeta. Will love to stay again.

Within walking distance to restaurants and shops

A very pleasant stay although it could be better if the rain shower had consistent hot water and better water pressure. Housekeeping staff entered locked bedroom although we did not request for make-up service. A packet of cashew nuts from the bar went missing on the fourth day after housekeeping came when we were out. Two pieces of used kitchen towels were replaced with a piece of glass towel (!?!). Toiletries in the master bathroom were only replaced with a new set in the afternoon a day before we were due to check out.

Very relaxing

Very relaxing place with amazing room layout and large villa pool. Great hotel staff, friendly with good service. Only very minor negative was the bed, slightly hard but some might like that. Would recommend this hotel. Also In house food was nice as well.

The villa was fantastic and the service by all staff was sensational. Very welcoming and accomodating. Great pool and beatiful restaurant where they serve breakfast. Also have a relationship with a great gym they will take you to.

Accomodation beautiful, service so/so

The accomodation itself was luxe, but there were a few minor things including the service that wasn't quite what you would expect for the price tag. It was a nice stay but I wouldn't give this the 5 star rating I was expecting. We stayed in the one bedroom villa (2b) and it is gorgeous. Pros: - The villa is beautiful. The indoor/outdoor living and dining which overlook the pool are a delight to relax in. - The bedroom is WELL air conditioned - The giant bath tub doesn't take too long to fill up, and is a perfect spot to relax for 1 or 2 people! - Massages are very well priced - Room service (lunch/dinner) was standard fare and comparable to regular room service prices. the wine list for room service was pretty extensive and similar price to what you'd pay in Australia. Good to note that you can't order cocktails to the villa, so if you like the idea of pool side cocktails - bring your own. Cons: - The breakfast (included) is very weak. Dishes are nicely presented but small and tasteless. - wifi was out for days - pool chlorinated turns hair green! - shower pressure weak - the reception and management were a bit too disinterested and while friendly enough, not what you'd expect from a 5 star place. They also messed us around with a late checkout, that we had been discussing with them 3 months prior to arrival right up until the afternoon of check out - bathroom was beautiful but in retrospect an indoor toilet would've been ideal

we are happy with our stay in Layar Villa. but what we are not happy about is so many mosquitos in the villa, because the bathroom outdoor too. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND to stay during raining season!! because it'll very hard to go out, cos everything outdoor.

The Villas are perfect. We booked a 1 bedroom villa and we're kindly given a 2 bedroom on arrival. The BBQ and breakfasts were delicious and the staff catered to every need we had. I couldn't fault a single aspect of our stay.

Wonderful holiday getaway for 5 girlfriend for my 50 th birthday. Luxury villa Security was brilliant Drove us wherever we wanted from 9-5 on golf buggies Lovely staff And terrific breakfast included and the most lovely one hour massage in the villa.

Absolutely magic place to stay. The three bedroom villa layout was great, the pool was beautiful and the staff super helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Lovely relaxing get away

As a family of four with two young children the Layar provided a great get away. The grounds were immaculate and well serviced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although the villa did not really suit small children - open pool, stairs and rooms seperated by outdoor walkway it worked really well and we did not have any issues. The boys loved riding in the golf carts to the beach and again the staff were very good. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a bit of luxury.

a nice quaint villa admist the busy seminyak

Very nice, clean and modern hotel though some details (like bath robe) needs to go through some maintenance. Staff were friendly and amazing. N location is good too.

Poor breakfast, No Hot water, Good design layout

On the first day we arrive, everything is perfect and the breakfast is up on the standard. However, As we didn't know that we have to give tips to the housekeeping and the butler, the breakfast quality getting less and less. Always late till we call them and remind them. For the final 2 days, we didn't get any hot water and they didn't manage to help us fix it. Internet was not stable and it needs to keep fill in the login password every 5 minutes.The location is okay but not connivence to the store. The overall quality of this villa is okay, but not fully outstanding as what you expected. I won't recommend this villa to friends because of the service and the surrounding area.

Beautiful villa!!

A stunning villa with lovely bedrooms and plenty of living spaces. There was a problem with the AC in 2nd bedroom (as there was where we stayed previously) and breakfast order occasionally wrong but in every other respect it was beautiful. Visually stunning and friendly staff - we very much appreciated a late checkout on the last day.

I can not say enough positive things about the Layar. We stayed there for 8 nights during our wedding and the staff were fantastic. We had a 2 bed villa which was just as beautiful as the photos on the website. A little hard to find the first time but once you know where it is, you have no problem getting around.

Before I stayed, I was sent details by email and was able to discuss any concerns I had in advance. All the staff were friendly and I felt comfortable during my stay. I could choose to eat breakfast in the restaurant or in the villa, and the menu was so extensive that I didn't get bored even if I stayed for several days. I was bitten on the face and arms by some kind of insect, so insect protection is essential. Overall, I think this villa is a good value for money. I would like to stay again.

Reception staff gave incorrect information and the manners were not good, we felt that they just wanted to talk us out (not helpful). The ground next to the private swimming pool is built with slippery materials (when wet) so I slipped over and fell and hurt myself very badly with bleeding when I walked up from the swimming pool. The surface of the closet was broken. Hurried us to check out before the check out time and we felt pressured. The artistic design of the room was good. The services in the hotel restaurant was good. There were electrical buggies which served like shuttle bus but it only serviced 4 times a day, most of the time the buggies were lying there while we needed to walk or found our own taxi. They misled us that the hotel had a gym+club+big swimming pool but actually the facility was 10 minutes walk away from the hotel and the class of the club was actually for public, and there were back-packers (we observed), the facility's class is many level lower and cheaper than the hotel which is a private villa. the hotel does not worth the price we were paying.
