Lovely stay
Wonderful, friendly. Lovely room and very quiet.
Wonderful warm reception. Unique cozy comfortable accommodation. Comfortable beds.
Located in a beautiful area of Utah. Clean and charmingly decorated with Western flavor. Owner/operators very friendly.
OK, not great. Inadequate lighting, no desk. Very limited dinner options in town in October. Best for a one night stopover. Friendly host.
It was a quick turnaround stay for me! Arrived late and left early the next morning, but it was comfortable and provided me everything I needed for the night!
Gem in Escalante.
I little gem in Escalante. Very clean and cute!!
Room was spacious and beautifully decorated in southwest style. Delicious dining option just across street. Owner was on site and super helpful providing information on local hikes and attractions less well known on our route. He provided delicious home made scones for breakfast as we were leaving.
Very clean and well kept property
Great place to stay. Tom is an outstanding host and offers great recommendations of local things to see and do. Food at Escalante Outfitters just across the street was great. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn of Escalante. It is a very nice property and was very quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed interacting with the owner. He was very hands on and personable. There was not an ice machine on property and he was kind enough to give us some from the office. We would definitely stay here again!
Every thing was great. Inside was done in western theme. Only thing missing was a picture of John Wayne. Nothing to say negatively, but Could dress up the outside with flowers.
Great stay!
Room was very spacious and comfortable with an intersting decoration. Tom, the landlord, was very helpful, recommended couple of restaurants nearby and gave good and understandable directions how to reach Zebra canyon. If you are in hiking, definitely go there.
2 luggage racks! Finally, a property with a brain! Tom, landlord, was so helpful: where to hike, eat, buy wine, etc. Towel rack, nice table to work on, great bed, great shower, big porch with chairs and table for the afternoon happy hour. Just off Main Street, no traffic noise. Lovely king room. Actually, superb. Best lodging in Escalante, hands down. WOW!
Great stay! Comfortable, clean room.
Stayed at this motel for a quick overnight trip with my kid. When we arrived the office was locked but there was a note letting us know which room we were in and where to get the physical key (not a card key). No problems at all. We got into the room and about 15 minutes later the manager came by to check that everything was fine and just make sure we understood it is a non-smoking facility. He went over a couple of things that should be obvious to people but unfortunately he has had some idiots stay and now has to preemptively tell people they are not allowed to set fires inside the room or in the parking lot. If you are not an idiot and you have the average amount of courtesy and respect for property that is not yours ...you will have a very pleasant stay here. The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioner was fantastic, the shower was nice and warm. The decor is not current trend for hotel but it has some personality and it is obvious that care was taken to make the room look nice and to be inviting. 100% I would stay here again. The manager even gave us some excellent suggestions for the next day.
Will stay here everytime!!
Definitely a diamond in the rough
One night stay of a longer road trip. Weren’t many choices in the town but saw good reviews and pics. Was kind of hidden. Got there a little later than expected but they left key and form available. Was such a cool room with a lot of character. Very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here agin if I were to pass through again.
Great room, very comfortable and spacious!
Our room was amazingly comfortable. The pictures online did not do it justice. 2 Qn beds, cozy sitting area with couch and small table, plus leather sitting chair by tv. Bathroom was very spacious with shower/tub combo, convenient closet. Owner/operator was super friendly, gave us lowdown on hikes in area, drew us maps, great stories. I would stay here again without a doubt.
Decent, pleasant.
While it looks like nothing from the outside, the rooms are actually very nice, nicely and elegantly decorated and well appointed. My one recommendation to Tom the innkeeper, is that the in-room document with rules and regulations, while clearly born from his frustration with past irresponsible guests, is, in tone, more than a little unfriendly and sets a negative tone. There could certainly better ways to phrase the issues without alientating the customers.
Surprisingly good option in this small town. Very large room including sitting area. Across from excellent local restaurant.
Close to the best restaurant in town and the owner was so kind and helpful
Property deceiving from outside but our lodging was comfortable, safe, clean. Darling room w skylight, plenty of room, very comfy beds, great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Owner available first thing in am w fresh coffee. Loved it.
The Inn turned out to be an excellent choice for us while we explored Escalante and the National Capitol Reef areas. It's location was ideal both in terms of access to these areas but also in terms of access to stores to get the provisions and fuel we needed for our journey. Tom, the Owner/Manager was a great source of information in addition to being a great host. He's created a unique, safe, clean, and quiet inn and has maintained it impeccably. The Inn is also across the street from a fabulous restaurant, Escalante Outfitters, that serves excellent salads, sandwiches, pizza, etc.
Very nice inn. Clean as you will find. Good furniture. Would stay again.
Nice spacious room. Very clean and quiet.
Tom the proprietor was so absolutely nice and helpful.
Great little place!
Almost perfect overnight stay and just have two suggestions… we checked in late and that worked out great as the office had a white board because it was already closed, however outside lighting for the back building walkway to our rooms was pretty bad. Had to walk by a motion to activate it in the pitch dark. Also we could really have used access to an ice machine as we were tired and parched after visiting the parks all day and a nice cold drink of water would have been heaven. Coffee and baked goods were available in the office In the morning. Also, FYI restaurants close early in town! All in all, I would recommend this place, it was decorated very cozy and was also roomy and comfortable.
The Inn at Escalante was a true gem. The room was clean, nicely decorated and extremely comfortable. Tom, the innkeeper, was a pleasure. He prepared morning coffee for his guests and frequently provided fresh baked goods s well. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to recommend The Inn at Escalante.
Room very nice and different decor. Outside not maintained as well as room.
Very clean. Tom wasn't very welcoming for a host.
Very friendly host.
Great spot, quiet, clean and scenic!
ESCALANTE, UTAH INN ADULTS ONLY
The INN'S location is excellent and just across the street from one of our favorite area restaurants. While it may not be what everyone pictures when describing an INN, the owners have done an excellent job with a motel type setting, in which the rooms are extremely large and very nicely decorated, being the nicest rooms we stayed in during our entire 22 day trip. The owner, Tom is very friendly and was a big help suggesting various hikes and places to see. Tom, though does love his rules and regulations.
My wife and I had a wonderful two night stay. The Inn is in marvelous condition...clean, cozy, quiet, and serves as a great launching pad to so many adventures within a hour or so drive. The owner Tom was a great host, and gave us a ton of info and advice about what to see and do in the area. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Nice room, great restaurant right next door, host had great recommendations.
Tom is just fantastic.
The rooms were very secluded and were totally quiet. The only glitch was finding the place. The sign is so small that we had to stop and ask directions and even then it was not obvious.
The Inn of Escalante has great rooms, clean and comfortable. Tom, the owner, was extremely personable and even let me hang out with his kitties, who roam the property. It’s right across the street from the Escalante outfitters with amazing pizza as well. Coffee and snacks were much appreciated in the morning. We’ll definitely come here again when we’re next in Escalante!
Great place to stay
Was a fantastic trip, everything we needed was right there or close by. The mattress was amazing, wanted to ask what brand it was but didn’t get around to it.
We has a wonderful stay at the Inn of Escalante. Tom was extremely hospitable and makes an incredible coffee cake!! Great location for Escalante adventuring and delicious pizza right across the street - Escalante Outfitters. The lodging was very nice and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone stopping through!
Very unique. Friendly.
Tom is a wonderful owner and host and is very enthusiastic about his Inn and the Escalante area.
Spacious accommodations and great location for our purposes, with coffee and pizza directly across the street and relatively short drives to some spectacular sites.
We had a lovely stay.
Quiet and intimate, this place is a good selection if you are staying in the Escalante area. The Ritz or 4 or 5 star, it ain't. But the room we had was spotless, with furniture that was functional and in good condition. Much has been written about the proprietor Tom. His crusty, Bostonian manner and his several rules may put off some, but if one takes just a few moments to get past that, he is full of great information about the area. In fact, every suggestion that Tom made that we followed up on was "on the money".
Wonderful, friendly, cozy and clean.
Great stay in Escalante
Tom runs a tight ship, but it’s “his house, his rules” which guarantees a clean room and no surprises. He recommended a great scenic drive which gave us a needed day off from hiking after 2 days in Zion and 2 days in Bryce. Restaurant/Outfitter/liquor store next to the Inn was great!
The Inn has a southwest vibe, very clean, very comfortable andwalking distance to restaurants.
The owner (Tom) was great, very helpful with our hiking trips
Owner Tom was very nice and had great ideas of what to see and even drew us a map! Accommodations were very comfortable and clean . I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you. Sonya
Pleasant stay, need fridges and coffee makers
Pluses: Unique rooms, friendly and helpful owner. Next-door to Escalante Outfitters for meals and supplies. Minuses: It would be great to have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in each room. There is a communal fridge, which creeped my wife out. With dining options in town so limited, especially when you need to leave town at 6 a.m. to start your hike before the heat of the day, it would have been great to have a place to keep our breakfast refrigerated and have a way to heat it up. And to get a cup of coffee in the room. The owner serves coffee at 7 a.m. and some restaurants open by 8 a.m. but by then we were long gone to hike. Some folks have complained about the owner's list of rules, but frankly I found him very friendly and helpful. The rules were all common-sense - don't start a fire in your room! - and appropriate. We would stay there again.
No children, no smokers - and we loved it!
We came back a second time - we just love this place. It is quiet, relaxing and just beautiful. We love the idea of having no children around and we are also no smokers. Our perfect place. And: Tom, the Owner, runs his business exactly as I run my own. Everybody has a choice to come here or not.
Well kept, clean, unique furnishings, homey chattiness of the innkeeper, well stocked with over-fluffy towels, buildings housing rooms reminiscent of ranch hand bunkhouses
Rudest experience ever! Avoid this place!
The most insulting experience I've ever had at a hotel. The place was pleasant enough, though I did notice the list of rules seemed overly punitive, especially related to smoking. As a non-smoker, I just ignored it. I checked on check-out time and was told 10 am next morning At 10:00 am, the owner and a woman came to the door and said simply: I need you out of here in 30 seconds! No exaggeration at all. We were mostly packed with just a few loose items to stash away, at most 3-4 minutes from being ready. With that, they began to pull the bedding off both beds even though I still had a few things on the bed! I was astonished, too much so to challenge him on his extreme rudeness. I can assure you my friend and I are very oriented to following rules and respecting others. We are model guests. This behavior was utterly offensive, especially from someone in the "hospitality" business!
Tom is a lovely host and the cats make your stay more interesting. The room was basic but clean, and ours had a little deck to sit outside. Parking is limited if you're hauling toys like we were, but we made it work. Restaurant is across the street or a block away. Escalante restaurant hours are 'flexible' so be sure and check with the restaurant before you go.
Tom the owner was the friendliest host I have ever seen. We plan on visiting Escalante again just to stay at his place. The room was very clean and fun to stay in.
The property was a nice surprise. It's a perfect place for a quick stop overnight. Beds were comfortable and location was quiet and peaceful. Tom was very helpful with sights and hicking destinations. Highly recommend this location.
Super nice
Our stay was great. I would’ve liked ice in our room. But understand why.
The room decor is really fun! Right next to the outfitters, which is the center of everything.
Tom the Innkeeper was very helpful and friendly! We felt very well taken care of. The room was immaculate and comfortable. There wasnt a microwave or fridge which isn't a big deal, though would have been helpful to know. I definitely recommend this place to stay! I have already told family about it, and hope to come back one day to stay again.
Great place to stay
We were delighted with our stay. The host was very gracious. The room was a unique experience, just what we were looking for.
The owner, Tom, is most hospitable and helpful. If you want to know where to hike, bike, motorcycle, eat, or anything about the area he will inform you. The rooms look new, are extremely clean and very comfortable. Bathrooms are full size and sanitary. Nice front porch along the fronts of the rooms with tables and chairs. If you enjoy the outdoors, Escalante is a great place to visit and stay a few days. The Escalante Inn is the place to stay!
Host is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met with great advice about local activities. Very comfortable, pretty room.
Very friendly
nice rooms
We loved our stay here! Loved the decor and the rooms were very cozy. Tom was very helpful and gave great recommendations for things to do.
Owner was super helpful and informative when we checked in. For sure we would have driven right past the Burr Road. Don’t miss it. Thanks again Tom!!!
This was a perfect place to stay leaving Bryce and heading to Arches NP. The room was clean
Tom is super helpful to provide information on where we can visit and eat. He is very knowdgable. The room is not big, but very cozy and high quality.
Dont let the cats in the room!!!!
The room was so nicely furnished and large. Decorated so cute. However the owner made us feel like schoolkids telling us his 1000 rules. And then you had to sign a paper that you obey all these rules. The tv also was not high enough to view from the bed because of the bed rails. Convenient restsurant next door that had the best pizza.
Did not meet normal expectations. No refer or micro, uncovered skylight over bedroom area, staff was rude and challenging including an invitation to leave with a refund at 9pm when there were no other rooms available, check in was self serve, management apparently believed his facility was beyond reproach and did not value feedback. You should not be recommending this facility.
Great place to stay. The room was amazing. Very spacious, beautiful mountain decor, immaculate. I would most definitely stay here again.
Great hotel
Great place to stay. Manager was very friendly. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Quiet atmosphere. Would definitely stay there again
Unique Inn. Secluded and quiet yet on the main road. Parking is close so there is limited walking necessary. Good food options including the owners' blue berry muffins. A bit pricey and the list of extra charges is a bridge too far. but will still recommend to those that want a quiet respite.
Lovely room with quiet front porch. Great hospitality from host. Highly revommend.
It fit the area in decor. and we enjoyed the extra space in our room.
The room is clean and cozy with beautiful south Utah decoradation. However, the room/inn does not have refrigeator is not convinient for us since lot of breakfast places were close during our visit.
Loved it
Loved it!
This was a great Inn and centrally located to attractions. The owner was amazing and there are restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend the pizza from Escalante Outfitters or the tacos from 4th West Pub
It looked like a hodgepodge of furnishings. A coffee pot was not available. We were told we could get coffee if we went to the “office “ by 8:30 AM. No laundry facilities. We went next door to use their machines.
The place was perfect, fully stocked with anything you need and very spacious. Tom was an incredible host, providing a hand drawn map of the place I wanted to go and giving the best food/drink recommendations. Would definitely stay here again next I come through.
Tom, the owner was a great host and does a fantastic job enforcing his policies and standards. The room was extremely clean with no hint of smokers having used the room before us. The inn was also ver quiet since he doesn’t allow small children or dogs. If we ever return to Escalante we will stay at his inn again.
Nice and big room. Family owned business. The host is friendly and helpful. There is no microwave or fridge in the room.
The property is very thoughtfully cared for, and the room has many comforts and amenities. Would definitely stay there again
The room was very clean. Decorated with a lion theme. Very comfortable bed. Loved having a covered porch with a table and chairs. The room had a nice table and two chairs. The Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We could walk to two good restaurants.
Very friendly owner and the room was very nice and spacious. We will plan for a return stay in the future.
A memorable night’s stay
It is refreshing to step off of the well beaten path of chain hotels. This quirky little inn was a fun place to stay! From the murals on the wall to the stuffed animals on the bed to the congenial innkeeper, this was a memorable stop. The water was hot, the bed was comfy and there were even fresh, warm muffins in the morning at this well-run establishment. The next door restaurant/outfitter was super convenient for easy meals, so an A+ for location. Tiny Escalante is an interesting town: engage the locals and you will be rewarded with tales of life in a beautiful place.
Tom was a great host. Highly recommend
Cute, clean and great location
Tom, the Innkeeper, went out of his way to meet each of his guests and welcome them. In the morning he had coffee and tea ready at 7, along with a fresh baked pastry item. The rooms were quirky, spotless and quiet- the perfect place to recharge after a strenuous day exploring the GSENM. Thanks, Tom!
Great find
Tom the Inn Keeper makes every effort to insure that you are happy and well informed about what to do in the area.. The rooms are well pointed to meet the area atmosphere, and in great condition . The morning begins with some baking good baked by Tom and good choices of beverage. Tom gets a 10 for operating a small boutique old fashion Inn with great love for what he does. Guest is number 1
Great size, clean, greatly decorated room. Don’t let the appearance of your check in fool you, when you pull up. The rooms are clean and spacious.
Always enjoyable
I have stayed at Tom's place twice, and it is always a pleasure. With his inside knowledge and breakfast presence, he could have a morning coffee show. He is always fun and entertaining. The rooms are large and clean. The showers are hot, and the inn is centrally located in town. Five stars and a thumbs up.
Coolers are not permitted, so it would have been nice to at least have a little refrigerator. We would have also preferred to have a microwave.
😁
Great stay, thanks!
Awesome place! Plenty of room in a nice clean space. Great location in town. It was cool to see the Big Dipper from our skylight 😁
The property was clean and comfortable and in a great location in town! Tom, our host was great - good tips and available if we needed anything.
Excellent. Lots of character , very clean. Host does a great job.
Great host. Room was spacious and clean. Very quiet. We would stay again.

Innkeeper Tom was just delightful. From His fresh baked muffins to his riveting conversation and pointers I can't say enough
