Good choice
Excellent location, convenient to museums, Severance Hall, CIM, ... Excellent service, pleasant breakfast area and a nice buffet breakfast.
Festively decorated and Christmas music in background. Nice bright hallways. Great breakfast!!
very good
Always an amazing visit.
I love this place. Clean hotel. Very comfortable! Walking distance of restaurants. Friendly staff. Decorated beautifully. Always good breakfast
Beautiful, historic property near Severance Music Hall, art museum and botanical gardens.
Staff was very polite and accommodating. Beautiful hotel.
Beautiful and extremely helpful and friendly staff
Charming and comfortable
Beautiful property and very comfortable beds. Wonderful breakfast buffet and very friendly staff.
Such wonderful people and hospitality.
Historic beautiful property. The pictures make the place seem bigger than it is. We had a suite and it was small. The picture when booking does not come close to resembling the room. They are working on the property so light fixtures on the second floor were hanging. They had a wedding that weekend which made parking a nightmare. I wish someone would have informed us of the wedding rehearsal and wedding that occupied the entire place. I felt like I was intruding on their special day because it took place on the first floor right next to the elevator. I would have found somewhere else to stay had I known.
Artwork in the historic building was delightful.

Beautiful facility and wonderful staff— very helpful and welcoming.
Charming, historic inn with beautiful colonial decor in the public areas. Is the kind of place you expect fluffy down pillows and comforters, but instead had foam pillows and thin polyester blankets that you get in low-end hotel. Small breakfast buffet with mediocre food. Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't have VIP room upgrade so gave us free snacks instead. Lawnmower outside room at 7 a.m. Didn't put do not disturb sign on door since every hotel I have ever stayed in doesn't do maid service until after the check out time. This place, however, has the maid knock on the door at 9 a.m. to see if you have checked out. So much for sleeping late!
A very nice boutique hotel on a very nice, Case Western, university.
Overpriced and unsatisfying
The room thermostat was set to cool at 74 degrees but kept cycling every ten minutes and making a terrible noise that kept us up all night. The bottle of wine we purchased was only mediocre and priced at five times the retail price. The concierge didn’t tell us anything about how close Little Italy was for dinner and instead referred us to the Euclid Avenue restaurants where we had a mediocre meal. The hotel rate was overpriced for the experience. I came away feeling disappointed and unsatisfied after really looking forward to staying at an historic and original hotel. I would not return.
Charming old architecture and history. Nice staff. Great breakfast.
An attractive building in an interesting area. Computer wasn't working, so there was a little trouble checking in but it was resolved quickly and graciously. Absolutely fantastic meal at L'Abatros, around the corner... worth a drive to Cleveland for that! Overall very pleasant stay.
The property was very cool. The only thing I would say was the partender was fair at best. A strange attitude.
It was a cute and quiet property . Bar was closed and there were some renovations going on but overall it was a nice stay. I did expect the rooms to have been a little cleaner as there was hair in the shower but overall it was nice
Well located Staff was warm and welcoming
We love the Glidden house’s architecture and location. The staff is the best, so helpful and kind. Breakfast is great. We were not offered an upgrade even though we are VIP.
Charming, and close everything
Gem of CLE in University Circle.
What a fantastic little place nestled in the middle of all the museums in Cleveland. Everything was in walking distance! The breakfast was delicious and much better than any other continental breakfast included in the stay amongst other hotels I’ve stayed at. An absolute treat.
A former family home. Cozy, comfortable, excellent breakfast.
The Inn is charming and the location is wonderful. Great breakfast - many choices, blueberry scones that had a crisp coating, fresh fruit bowl - pineapple, orange slices, melon, grapes, etc, oatmeal and Greek yogurt with amazing toppings.
We loved the room and the staff were amazing. Easy walk to the art museum and botanical gardens.
It’s a beautiful area and a grand boutique hotel that’s feeling a little tired.
Right on the campus at Case Western , staying in this historic hotel was real treat. Breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly. Great for visiting Case but a perfect place to stay just to explore the area Memorable experience
Beautiful and immaculate!
A beautiful 1910 house with elegant mansion decor on University Circle—an oasis in the middle of the city. A concierge greeted us. Our room was well-appointed, clean, and quiet; the bed was comfortable; and we liked the banquette where we could place most of our luggage for easy access. The VIP gift was a card for a free drink in the charming small bar on the main floor, and we enjoyed the experience. At breakfast we appreciated the real silverware and plates and the enclosed porch seating. We would return here in a trice.
I liked the house and the energy it gave off, but the only thing I didn’t like was that on the last day, they forgot to clean my room.
Short stay in Cleveland
Really neat place. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. There was a full floor remodel going on, but it didn't start until after 9am and wrapped up daily around 5pm. Great location for museums, etc. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be returning.
Wonderful property and staff. The university district is beautiful
Classy, quiet, convenient location for museums and campus. Short drive to downtown. Excellent staff and charming bar area for a nightcap. Five stars.
It was a beautiful building with gorgeous landscaping and an easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Pillows—yikes—foamy and lumpy, too thick, need to upgrade. HVAC units a bit noisy. No lemons at the bar. But still my favorite place to stay.
Staff were very friendly. Great location and the included breakfast is wonderful.
Lovely neighborhood- friendly quaint hotel
Great hotel and will come back
It's very comfortable and clean the staff is amazingly friendly and so helpful. I like the historical feel to everything the wood floors the style of carpet and the wallpaper is beautiful
Charged us for smoking in room, we didn't. Talked to manager, she took it off the bill, nice lady, said housekeeping found empty pack in trash. That's not smoking in room. I have receipt with charge removed. Charged my card anyway after we left. Now they won't return my calls what a scam.
great location, walking distance to many interesting venues. I forgot my Ipad in room upon check out and didnt realize it unless i had left the city and the front desk responded to my call and were extremely helpful and are mailing it back to me
Beautiful hotel
Construction in hallway disruptive. Noisy air conditioner unit. Beautiful property and location.
Relaxing quiet walkable neighborhood. Quiet clean comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff
Excellent location, walkable to museums, botanic garden, and CWRU. The room is not very big but clean and comfortable. The inside is tastefully decorated and the outside is a beautiful garden. The hot breakfast beats most hotels in the area.
I stay at the Glidden House every year during Labor Day weekend for my visit and it always impresses. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is excellent, and the accommodations are comfortable. Great walking distance to the botanical garden, art museums, and case western historical society museum. Love this property and all of the historical aspects that come with it. Well-maintained just come stay here and find out for yourself what a gem it is!
I would have rated a 5 but there has been a noticeable decline in attention to detail since the beginning of the Pandemic
Beautiful setting, accessibility to museums, restaurants (Little Italy, especially lively and delicious), lovely campus walking, sitting areas with gorgeous flowers and privacy, breakfast served in elegant dining room. Definitely must return!
I love this place. I stay here whenever I can because it's so convenient and close to everything. I definitely recommend it.
The Glidden House is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Cleveland. My wife and I enjoyed many things about it; for instance the location by Case Western Reserve University and the variety of museums in the walkable vicinity. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the build has the right combination of comfort, charm, and history.
Great location. Walkable neighborhood.
Clean and convenient to stay for college move in
I love this place
Easy and safe
We love Glidden House. Its beautiful and well run.
Love this hotel! Welcoming staff, beautiful property, quaint rooms and lovely breakfast. The surrounding neighbourhood of museums and botanical gardens are fantastic. The walk to Little Italy for incredible food is only 10 minutes at most. Saving to favourites.
Great property
This hotel was in walking distance to several museums. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean.
Amazing stay at the Glidden House! Wonderful beautiful property, amenities, breakfast. We enjoyed walking to dine both nights in Little Italy - 15 minutes. Walk to Botanical Gardens, Severace Hall, Museums. Glidden House is a real gem - would definitely stay there again and recommend. Parking is great.
Antique style but still very cozy and staff was amazing
Great location close to museums and botanical garden. Nice quiet well appointed room. Lovely breakfast
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful! Great location with a lot within walking distance.
Excellent and welcoming
The property was beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Many delicious breakfast options. Safe, walkable dining and shopping close by. James, the concierge was a delight and shared so much helpful info about the area.
Lovely old mansion in a park like setting. Breakfast was excellent, not just the delicious food but also relaxing in the sunroom and looking across the lawn to the botanical gardens and the museum of art. And the lady running things at breakfast was so sweet and helpful. It’s located on the Case Western Reserve campus, so there were plenty of walking opportunities. We’ll stay there again when in Cleveland.
Great location for museums. Hotel has plenty of character and charm.
Beautiful hotel in a great location!
The breakfast was delicious and the decor and music were very fun. There was a cute little courtyard to hang out in. Parking cost extra, but we didn't know til after she gave us a pass.
The hotel is at a lovely central location, close to the botanical garden, museum of natural history and several universities. The hotel building itself is beautiful and takes you back to a different time period. The front desk and dining staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel room is spacious and the bed comfortable. Would love to return for a longer stay to explore the area.
Good - very friendly staff - convenient location to many museums - decent breakfast - part of hotel is a cool old house - clean Not good/odd: - in need of a renovation. Probably 10-15 years past due. Rooms are very tired and dated, esp. the bathrooms; broken glass in some of the heritage built-in cabinets shows owner doesn’t care much to update - housekeeping was loudly knocking on doors at 8:30 AM - odd touches that shows how dated this place is, like shower amenities with no shower gel and the tiny soap bar, as well as the folio in envelope put door at night
Classic and Quaint
Glidden House is special to my husband and me because we had our wedding reception there in 2006. And I had my doctoral graduation celebration there years ago. Glidden House is historic, charming and very close to some of Cleveland's finest attractions. That said, the staff are very helpful and attentive. Rooms are clean but not overly comfortable. Bathroom has limited counter space. Bed was a bit soft. Breakfasts are included and quite nice. The bar is small and lovely, but good service depends on who's the bartender. Inconsistent quality of drinks. Overall, a good value of you like being near University Circle action or Case Western Reserve University. Not the most modern in terms of decor or amenities.
Our stay was very nice. The staff was excellent.
Culture get away to Cleveland
The Glidden House if you love history and beautiful old architecture its fun to be in thus place. There is a newer section added so if you want to stay in the original house you should call the hotel. We stayed in Rm 201 I was disapointed by the mens shavings left/missed on the bath rm vanity 😬... this is your typical hotel room, with upgraded decor. It was a little noisy, but that was other guests mostly. The staff is very nice, the breakfast is excellent, as is the staff in this area as well, have a waffle to die for! It has its own parking which is worth the cost, as it is very expensive to park anywhere in the cleveland area, and or finding a spot to park. The museums & botanical gardens are right out the door and short walks away, its a beautiful area! Little Italy is a 12/15 minute walk. Definitely would stay here again.
Comfortable hotel with lots of character. Very nice breakfast. Restaurants within walking distance.
Quaint
Lovely place to stay
Great trip! So many nice touches like complimentary glass of wine at the little bar and breakfast. The grounds of the hotel are very pretty with places to sit outside. I also went to a lovely French restaurant a block or two away, l’Albatros. So delicious!!
I highly recommend staying at the Glidden House! Very nice people and a beautiful hotel for a great price! When I return to Cleveland I’ll stay here again. The lobby is lovely and it’s in a great part of town. Not to mention it’s a historical site which is always nice! Very cozy beds and pillows too!
Unique and classy
We had a very pleasant experience
A charming hotel in an interesting location. My room was in the modern block and was fascinating.
I have passed by this property dozens of times when in Cleveland and finally decided to stay at this location since we were going to the art museum. This property is right across the street from the botanical gardens, one block from the art museum and walkable to Euclid Ave, several museums and Little Italy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had the option of eating our breakfast, which was included, either indoors or inside. The bed was very comfortable, The hotel has a European charm and the gardens and landscaping are gorgeous. This property is well-kept and I would definitely stay here again in the future.
A very nice, conveniently located hotel within easy walking distance of the Cleveland Symphony and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Also a quick stroll to excellent restaurants, including L'Albatros Brasserie. Rooms are quiet and comfortable.
Wonderful historic home turned hotel. Great location next to multiple museums. Close to Cleveland clinic, case western, little Italy.
Ideal location, charming staff, excellent facilities
Great hotel in Cleveland
We stayed at the Glidden House for our trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We had a great visit! The staff was so courteous and kind, especially James the concierge and the breakfast crew. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. My kids really enjoyed the luxury hotel experience. The location was great too as we were able to walk to dinner. We would definitely stay again.
Ok no hot water
I wish I could give more stars. This was a perfect stay. So many lovely details.
Lovely hotel in a converted (and preserved) mansion
Wonderful stay. Every staff member was very nice and helpful
Lovely hotel and very walkable area
The architecture, quiet, clean, and like it was frozen in time.
Elegant property with a nice location. Walkable neighborhood with a variety of restaurants and shopping.
We stayed two nights. It was spectacular. The surrounding area is beautiful and very walkable. The breakfast buffet is splendid. Sadly someone rifled through our car the second night while it was parked in the hotel lot. There was no vandalism but they did pilfer our money we kept for tolls.
Liempieza
Glidden House of Hospitality.
Loved our stay at the Glidden House. It felt like an oasis in a busy city. The location is ideal for a walk to the free world-class Cleveland Art Museum and Severance Hall. I found the hotel to be classy with excellent service, many antique appointments, and a breakfast that rivals what we have come to expect in quality European hotels.
Great place to stay close to Case Western!
