Excellent location within Gardens Mall And Mid-Valley Mall
The location is perfect for shopping and eating.
The connected shopping malls in the area make this place an extremely convenient stay, especially for families with young children. The 1BR apartment (described as a Suite on Expedia) was clean and spacious. Bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, bath soap and hand soap. The kitchen had an induction stove (2 hobs), electric kettle, dishwashing liquid and sponge, cutlery, plateware, cookware and chopping knives. No dish towel, but tissue paper is provided. TV channels are basic.
Nice stay, convenient location
The first assigned room had smell, dampness and mould smell, Hotel staff changed our room and sprayed. room size was OK, Hotel check-in was 3pm but rooms were not ready when we arrived at 6pm. Hotel staff compensated with free breakfast and late check-out which was a nice gesture. Hotel is going to have a major renovation soon so beware before you book.
Check-in was quick and Mr Ilham was friendly and warm. He remembered me as we stayed at this property several times in the past. In my last review of this property, I mentioned that the body lotion has a bad smell after application. I am happy to note that it did not have that after application smell this time. Don’t know why but I am glad. We just finished a movie at the adjacent mall and it’s so safe and convenient to walk back to the hotel. This is the plus point of this hotel, it is located inside the mall but it’s quiet and exclusive.
KL Flying visit
Business trip. Conveniently located next to mall with bars and restaurants and within walking distance of business meeting. Good amenities, clean and friendly.
Hotels with easy access to malls
The hotel has always been our go to hotel. It is convenient with two mega malls and is away from the busy city centre. The bathtub is a plus point for kids.
The hotel is connected to The Gardens Mall which is also linked to Midvally Megamall. There are two train lines nearby, red and blue, which made travelling by public transport very convenient. Checking in was smooth but the staff were not very approachable. Rooms were only available at 3pm, so we left our luggages at the hotel and checkes out the neighbouring malls. The first room we were given had a lot of flies. They were flying around the lights and on the bed. We requested for a change of room immediately and thankfully there was another room available. Drinking water is provided and we could call room service to ask for more. Housekeeping service was very fast. The pool is a saltwater pool and there is also a children's pool. However, it was not maintained. The pool chairs were broken and flooring around the pool was broken. There was a pool side bar which was never open during my stay there. The stay was pleasant overall, but i wouldn't go back.
Maintenance has been Neglected.
I have been staying at The Gardens whenever I go to Kuala Lumpur for the last 10 years. Previously, despite its age, the hotel was maintained quite well. During this stay, the maintenance has clearly fallen short. The room had a smell, hot water from the bathroom tap was brown, the sink cover was stuck and not repaired properly, the shower head was old and dingy, the lights were falling from the ceiling, bed frame was squeaky, and the pillows felt cheap like they were made from cheap foam. After patronizing The Gardens for so many years, this is so disappointing. Despite its fantastic location and convenience, they could not be bothered to renovate, let alone properly maintain, the hotel and rooms.
Quite convenient, yet a bit old and found poor cleanliness..
Near 2 big malls, very convenient for food, shopping & entertainment
Hotel is located next to good shopping mallls. But the room smells, saw a running cockcroach in the toilet, and mattress is hard.
It's clean and wide space for family.
Convenient location for after work quick dining as well as daily necessities.
Love the convenience to the megamall
Great location
Hotel in general is a little dated but they’re going for renovations soon
Too old n aged
Wonderful and convenient and place! Thanks so much to the staffs for finding my daughter’s doll in the middle of the night!
Just awesome!
The room smell carpet very bad not that clean.
Very spacious room, with nice view. Very efficient and polite from the service crews. Important of it as near to the Megamall, which don’t need to travel far to get some stuff or massage.
An excellent hotel! Being co-located with a shopping mall is a big plus!
Have stayed at this hotel many times on business. This time I was visiting with my family and was disappointed by the tiredness of the rooms. The tap in the bathroom was wobbly, the bedding felt damp and the room even smelled a bit musty. The sliding door to the bathroom in the other bedroom was almost coming off its track. The place is in need of a makeover. Staff were excellent and location is great.
Great place to stay.
Good location, good staff.. but the hotel is very old needs to be renovated. It’s humid at the hotel and I think that’s why the carpets are smelly.
Convenient
Ok
Great Location
Good
Overall ok..
Good location on top of malls and near LRT
I’ve stayed here many times and it’s still about the location. The hotel is still in good condition, room is big, largely well-maintained and clean. Good deal thru Hotels.com, will continue to use this site to book if prices are competitive!
Was waiting in line, (long queue) to check in after a long drive. Tried to go to the toilet but staff at toilet insisted to see toilet pass (which means I had to queue) or show show hotel access card or pay 5 ringgit to use. So I had to go back and queue. Never have I encountered such a strange , in convenient rule which spoilt the first experience of a stay. The property is fantastic, highly recommended for all other aspects.
friendly accommodative service support staff. Even offered to book grab for me to the airport.
The room allotted was smaller than the usual and required maintenance. The staff were not as welcoming as on previous stays.
Reception
Check in was a breeze. Great service
Room condition is old and needs renovation/upgrading even though service is good. I booked 3 rooms as travelling with my family. TV & lighting in one of the room is not working properly. TV always hanged. We will not stay in the Gardens Hotel - not until it is renovated/upgraded as it is better to pay less and stay in the Boulevards Hotel.
Next to shopping mall and a lot of choices of local foods.
Worse than 3 star hotel service
Next to mall. Hotel front desk staff Nick was kind enough to allow us to extend check out time as we were having some medical issues.
Excellent as always
I stay here every time because of convenience. Located a few minutes from Sentral station (KLIA express terminal) and attached to the Gardens megamall. Good hotel with all amenities but the decor could do with a refresh.
Great stay for convenience. Dining shopping and transportation all walkable distance
Service is good
Ok
The service from the staff when checking out was excellent.
Very nice stay. Really enjoyed it.
Friendly, Spacious, Clean and Conveniently Located
Very clean and spacious rooms. Front desk was very friendly and we could get an early check-in. Place is so near the MidValley shopping centre and there is a bridge to the Abdullah Hukum LRT station. So very convenient
The room is good
Staff were very helpful
Good location
Location was good but the WC toilet was running non stop each time after flushing it will start again Need to have better maintenance as the look of the rooms feels jaded
loved the gym and pool facilities, made my stay extra comfortable and enjoyable. the staff were also very helpful. i did not have the opportunity to try and of the dining options however with the hotel being inside the Gardens shopping mall there are soooo many options so close at hand.
Good location
Quiet and serene. Lack of good value taxi service. Aircon not strong at corridor and elevators
Overall would recommend - had a good stay. Positives- Hotel is clean and quiet. Room is decent. Breakfast is good. Some improvement - facilities rather old eg. Some of the plugs in room were not working and shower hard to operate.
Wonderful room and bathroom space. Great service and location too. My 5th/6th time staying here. A favourite.
The mall was convient.. to shop n to dine in...
Bad and Good Stay
Asked for 2 adults and 2 childern room but somehow the room they gave us was 2 twin beds. Otherwise the hotel was good and staff friendly, inside the mall so very convenient place to shop, eat and stay. No free parking for guests even.
Convenient location
Hotel need some upgrade and should provide advise for check-in guest parking direction.
Enjoyed Malaysian Hospitality
We stayed 4 nights. Reception desk staff is perfect. Porter service is perfect. Aircon technician attended to us promptly after a phone call tru Operator.
Not so comfort for holiday stay.
The hotel location is great, services and comfort for business is good. Hotel very run down, old setting in room and lobby furniture. Carpet have moisture smell.
I left my jacket in the room, tried calling them but it appears that they weren't interested in answering the phone
Excellent for shopping and eating malls next door
My room does not come with breakfast but that’s not a problem as there are many good eateries in the connecting shopping malls. Very convenient location.
Nice location
The hotel was well-maintained and the service efficient.
Overall is good but there no Free Parking for hotel guests.
The room is big & clean. The location is convenient as there is lots of shopping & train station is nearby.
The service from the front team is excellent, polite and very helpful
Very good hotel, very practical, very clean, friendly and pleasant staff. There were 3 of us staying in the room, so the twin bed was practical for our teenage daughter but too small for our couple. I definitely recommend.
I felt the hotel was good until I encountered one technical issue and the attitude of a reception staff to this. Disappointed.
All good except the service levels at reception needs to improve
Every thing is good
Disappointing Stay
This was the 2nd time we stayed in the Gardens Hotel in 7 months. Our first stay last October was OK and so was the reason why we decided to stay again. I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights and have emailed the hotel requesting for family or adjacent rooms since we are travelling as a family and we have a 15 mths baby with us. The hotel did not bother to reply to my email. When I checked into the hotel, there was no arrangement for the 3 rooms to be together. But the check-in staff did managed to give us 2 rooms next to each other but 1 room had to be away but on the same floor. The door of my room was hard to open/close as it was jamming against the door frame. So every time we open & close, there were loud banging sound. And unfortunately the door of the room next to us is also the same and so everytime when they open/close the door, we have to bear with the banging and jamming sound which is very annoying. I believed our neighbour also felt the same when we open & close our door. The TV in our room was not working properly - see photo below showing the screen. My daughter's room was not cleaned on the 2nd day and garbage still remained in the dustbin. The bed was not made up and toilet not clean. We were all very disappointed as not only the service had gone down the maintenance had only gone down or poorly maintain.
Room getting old and shower water flows very slow.
Unpleasant Musty smell in room.
the first thing that hit me when we entered the room was the strong MUSTY smell in the room. It seemed like the room was not in use in a long while and hence not cleaned or aired recently. Our bed linens were not changed even though there were a few blood stain spots caused by a ruptured elbow blister. It would have been nice if the housekeeper had bothered to give us fresh linens instead.
Love the convenience of this hotel. However this hotel is a little run-down compared to when i stayed 5 years ago. Room has this musty smell.
I enjoyed the convenience of the malls that were within walking distance. Hotel room itself was old and dated….needs some renovations. Internet was very poor/didn’t work, toilet was clogged, TV didn’t work most days. Overall, not worth it…I will not be returning ever.
Convenient
Great place to stay to explore KL
Have stayed here umpteenth times - love it for the convenience! The property is well maintained over the years and I’ve noticed some room improvements here and there. Nicely thot out layout and furniture. Absolutely love the location esp with the connection to the LRT station!
Excellent staff service !
Good for families
This is great for a family as it has two bedrooms and it is quite spacious. The concierge Sawinder was so helpful in getting us a van to the Airport.
I lost 200 dollars which was in my bag and in the room. They said i will get a safety deposit box but didnt. I didnt report this because theres no camera inside the room so even if i report noway to prove it
Great location but very dusty.
Our default apartment stay pre and post pandemic due to its location but sadly, the apartment was a lot dustier during our recent stay. We had to request housekeeping team to vacuum the place again and ended up feeding our kids Zyrtec to deal with the symptoms. Would be great if they could refurbish or at least change the sofa and carpets.
The good and the bad
The good - Hotel in a good part of town. Staff at the breakfast was hardworking and attentive, so was House-keeping. We loved them. The bad - check-in was done by a male staff who was chatting and laughing with his colleague while conducting our check-in. Room has an air quality issue - we suspect the dirty air-con and we both develop allergic reactions while in the room (not when we were outside). Affected the quality of our stay. Guy receiving guests at The Spread in the first morning not familiar with internal process and protocols, could not answer basic questions.
The aging Gardens delivers value for money stays
Great stay at the Gardens. 3rd time there. Managed to get a lot despite the peak hour. Staff super friendly in helping me get to my rooms with early check in. Shopping and movies so convenient. Only issue is the pool is freezing cold with the water and that the pool and deck area probably needs to be renovated. Rooms very comfy. But the tv channels are limited and would benefit from internet tv. Overall a very good stay.
Terrible experience
This property has got worse each time we stayed, so this will likely be the last time. We were staying at Hilton KL which was about the same price but so much better in every way. After checking out of Hilton, we had to stay another day due to emergency and wanted to be near mid-valley. They double charged me after saying they haven’t received payment when I checked in - staff asked if I want to pay for my stay upfront in cash or card. Then the card payment went through. If I didn’t check my credit card and just left, I may not even know. The wifi did not work at all. And the TV channels were so limited and reception was terrible. Can’t imagine paying RM500 for one night here when I can pay the same and get Hilton, JW Marriott etc.
It has everything.. Love it!
There is ants everywhere in the room. For a 5 stars hotel I expect the room to be spotless.
Very convenient full service hotel
Good hotel located next to the Mid Valley Mall (has a door opening straight into it). Easy to get to by KLIA Expres train + LRT train (2 stops). Good sized rooms but starting to look a little dated. Very good breakfast buffet. Good value for money.
It was a business trip. Location of the hotel was convenient for me to attend my meeting. The room had a musty smell and that put me off. A bit run down and needs a face-lift.
The rooms need maintenance. Lights not working, shower head defective, doors at toilet not secure Room 1519, aircon in room not working well. If not rectified, it will deteriorate and render this hotel to lower status. Location and amenities are good though.
It is very near to people I have to meet during this trip.
The Gardens us a good Hotel i had been staying for long time. This particular stay, my room was infected with ants on the table, coffee bar, and even toilet sink. the upkeeping has done down before the pandemic. hope to see improvements.
convenient and safe
It was a good stay at The Gardens. Second time staying here. Very convenient.
Room condition is old and not well maintained. Some of the room light is not working, requested to change room but still the same. Power point not working too. No one from front desk responded to phone calls. Housekeeping service is slow and need reminder. Carpark entrance closed at 11.30pm.
Very old hotel which need renovation/upgrade.
PowerPoint trip whole room electrical when I pulled out the charging cable. Followed by water dripping sound in toilet at ceiling. Though maintenance guys get it fixed but disturb my night sleep. Ants running on table tops in my room.
Unpleasant
Stayed 3 nights. At check in, front desk told me there is a service on the hotel’s power but assured me there are generators to ensure there’s no power disruption. On my 2nd night just before midnight, as I was on call with the US, power was tripped. I was thrown into complete darkness, the internet and everything stopped. Called reception, no answer. Came back after an hour, TV knocked out , internet still down. At checkout, no word of apology. I’ve stayed in this property for 20 years, I’m switching if they keep quiet about this.
Excellent hotel
Amazing hotel convenient with good food n shopping. But housekeeping need to improve
This is definitely for a business trip but not much for vacation type. The room is clean and tidy but a bit run down. The location is great as it is connected to a shopping mall and there are plenty of food places around the lower floor of the mall. it also connects to Megamall at mid valley where gives you more choices.
Service was excellent, however breakfast buffet was a miss. Not much selection at all.
Room was spacious with plenty of storage, despite it being quite dated, quite different from the photos. Parking was a nightmare as there are no designated spots for hotel guests. The floors had a musky smell like the carpet was left wet. Our first room had the smell so we requested for a room change, second room was better but the common area did still have the smell. However, absolutely love how close it is to the shops, love the convenience.
