Great rooms with super nice staff. Love the restaurant atmosphere
The cafe B&B aspect of the facility and proximity to town centre
This was a lovely property, very unique, owned by a young couple who have been running it for around 2 years with their lovely little boys. The food was good, but the service was a little too homely, while this was a lovely touch it was also a bit odd, at check in we needed to order breakfast for the next day and a time to eat. The night meal was lovely, good understanding of GF options.
Beautiful place. Great food and service. Very quiet.
Quaint and Cosy
A lovely little bed and breakfast, the staff were quiet friendly and attentive. The decor and whole feel is of a mountain lodge welcoming and cosy. The little touches such as the locally made teddy bears and tiny teddies served with coffee keep true to the theme. In terms of the food we only had breakfast which was included in our stay and it was absolutely delicious especially the mushrooms and the portions were generous. The rooms themselves were in great condition, the bed comfortable and plenty of bedding for cold nights. The location about halfway up the huon valley makes it a great base to explore the surrounding towns and see all that is on offer. We absolutely loved it.
Great staff, very attentive. Enjoyed Geeveston too.
Service is excellent, the breakfast included delicious, a cute quaint b & b. Tastefully renovated. Located in a small town with the essentials- supermarket, fuel, coffee & this place also does dinner otherwise a short drive to another town.
The food here is very good and so is the free breakfast. My daughter fell for the pasta and repeatedly ordered that. The rooms here are a bit small, and there are no views which we thought was a serious shortcoming. But, the staff make up with excellent service.
Geeveston Stay
An interesting place in Geeveston. Good room, great meals but no fridge or coffee making in room and the bed wasn’t great. Friendly couple running it. Well located to access local attractions.
Pleasant stay
Friendly host, very welcoming. Room clan and comfortable.
Overall great B&B. New owners were fantastic and very welcoming. Nice location in the middle of town.
Sweet accommodation, good location.
Good accommodation in a nice little town, good information centre
Fantastic
The accommodation and staff were fantastic. Food was beyond good. Lamb shanks and Chowder. I'd go back just for dinner. Coffee was also absolutely awesome. Go check this lovely little gem out x
Quirky little hotel.
Was a great little place that we took refuge from due to a storm making it very uncomfortable to camp. Limited menu on the night we stayed but the best seafood chowder we have had in Tassie! Would highly recommend staying here! Was great to sit by the fire for dinner and the included breakfast the next morning.
Lovely, family run accommodation
Cosy atmosphere. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and other meals were outstanding. Barista made coffee and tea included at all times. Convenient location to Tahune Airwalk. Good value. Highly recommended.
Quaint little place
Our host Audrey was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless and the included breakfast with coffee was delicious. Right in the centre of town. Good value for money.
Great place to stay, lovely little arty town. The hotel was very cosy and warm, very accommodating; the host was very welcoming. The cuisine is excellent and different from the usual cuisine that seems to be reproduced everywhere. A great place to stay.
Food available was first class
Comfortable, warm, great ammenities, absolutely fantastic service
Good location
Food was great staff very friendly lovely location
A small facility in an historic town
Despite the unusual name, don't let that put you off! The 3 guest rooms are beautifully decorated & have new ensuite bathrooms. The new owners are putting in the effort to ensure their property & cafe/tapas bar is successful. Great to see a young family chancing their arm in a rural community & well worth supporting. PS: the scones are perfect!
Lovely town, very quiet
I really like Geeveston and the accommodation was adequate. Be prepared that there are very few options for eating out at night or for early breakfast. The platypus walk is however very close by and yes you do see platypus in their natural environment. Close to Tahune Air walk which is also worth doing.
Great location in the middle of town.
A very comfortable place to stay in the main street of town. Unfortunately car parking is in the main street outside the B&B. Dinner wasn't available on the night we stayed although there was a night farmers market with cooked food down the road. The B&B is for sale, and as such the owners are keen to move on.
Excellent Experience
The owners, accommodation and meals were excellent and moderately priced.
Geevston. Reviews of Bear went over the mountain.
Room lacked air conditioning as advertised. Room looked jerry built. Only window opened to footpath so couldn't be opened. Overhead light had piece of timber shoved into it to hold it in place. Double doors from shop were ne t to room so we could hear ever noise from shop. Place was a dump.
Staff did not seem helpful or even pleased to have a guest. The room was clean but not very comfortable. The bed was very soft and decorated for a three year old. The hotel is for sale so maybe that has something to do with it.
Unique style of accommodation.
The couple who own the establisent were very welcoming. Our rooms were great and private. No traffic noise after seven. Very close to IHA supermarket. The night we stayed the local restaurant was closed and we had to drive 3km for food and drink. Showers were not very hot and only a trickle of water came out of the taps. Cute little second hand shop in the breakfast ro where we bought two coats.
At the outside it looks like a gift shop. Inside it is a gift shop with few pretty rooms to stay for a night or two. We did not read much about the hotel before booking. But this humble, privately own and operate, children-book themed B&B hotel does offer a lay back and easy going vibe of the town! My gf and I stayed in an ensuite room. The cleanliness is superb. And it packed with cute decorations. The hotel is located just opposite of IGA in Geeveston. The shuttle bus stop to Hobert is just around the corner. Two cafes are just across the road. So you get everything in just a short walk! We love the hotel. And would definitely come back if we ever stay at Geeveston again!
Vary Nice rustic type of accommodation.
Great place to stay with friendly staff and very clean rooms.Reasonably priced.
Just the 2 night, great spot had what we needed
Short and sweet. Would have been happy to stay longer
Quirky B & B
Booked at last minute on a cold, wet afternoon. Our hostess (Leanne I think) was most welcoming and had thoughtfully turned on the heater to warm the room for us. Comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom, and a self serve breakfast. Parking is outside on the street, quite safe though but could be a bit of a haul if you had a few bags.
Character in a lovely village
A place full or character and charm. Clean, warm, tidy- continental breakfast with very accommodating staff. The area is so interesting. No street noise, easy parking and a wonderful area of Tasmania to explore.
