Convenient and classic.
We had a great time in Mobile for some Mardi Gras parades. We enjoyed Joe Cains for drinks and food was good too. Hotel was nice. Our only complaint was housekeeping letting doors slam in the mornings. Woke us up around 8 both mornings. I had to go see what all the door slamming was and it was housekeeping coming in and out of their storage areas. Several people and asked them to please not let doors slam. We had kids sleeping. Happened again next morning. Other than that we had no issues.
Great hotel
Absolutely our favorite hotel in Mobile!! They treated our pup like gold!
We had an amazing trip, from Valet, the front desk, our spa experience, and check out, it was all amazing. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was wonderful as well. It was with in walking distance to food, the bar, parks, even our view from our window was great.
Beautiful hotel in great location. Spa and massage were excellent. Piano bar was a nice spot to relax and enjoy a drink. Only negative was a shared balcony with room next door and no view. Easy fix if you don’t pay extra for a balcony. Enjoy!
Interesting and good breakfast. Comfortable large slightly dated bedroom,Spacious bathroom. Convenient downtown location that was easily accessible to major highways. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
4 HOUR CHECK TO GET ROOM
Beautiful historic hotel. Great location and 3 restaurants to choose from. Only problem was loud wedding after party in adjoining room (connecting door) until 4:30 a.m., but not the hotels fault. Highly recommended!
The area
Best choice in Mobile
Great time
Our stay was amazing, except the dirty towel that was left from the previous person that stayed there. We tried to track down the cleaning staff but were not able to. We just moved it away from us and moved on. Otherwise our stay was amazing! We look forward to coming back!
Perfect location and a friendly staff.
Beautiful, historic hotel
Beautiful hotel with excellent spa services. My only complaint was the carpet in our room was dingy and stained. Also our balcony was shared with another room
Great
Update
Restaurant options sucked. Seemed outdated and didn’t have a good vibe
This historic property is restored to its true splender. The bars and restautant are top notch. We were put in the new tower with a modern room, but would have liked to stay in the old hotel. There are lots of eateries and tourist sites within walking distance. Parking is a little expensive, but it was worth it to pay a couple extra bucks for valet.
2 Stars at best
This hotel might’ve at one point been a four star property, but it is long past its prime. The room was worn out with chips and scratches and chunks missing from the furniture, stains on the upholstery and the carpet and the overall cleanliness was less than desirable. The furniture was dusty, and there were dirty towels from the previous hanging on the hook behind the door in the bathroom. The front desk clerk failed to follow procedure and take a card from me when I checked in, so then we were hassled by multiple phone calls from room service and the front desk after ordering breakfast and had to go down to the front desk to present a card.
So Cool!
This hotel is beautiful and in a great location by the USS Alabama. The Whisper hall is so cool. Furnishing were great. Bathroom was large and very nice. Rooms were quiet. Highly recommend
Nice location
Our FAVORITE Place!!!
This hotel is so beautiful, and the service is impeccable! Every single time we stay at The Battlehouse, we are utterly impressed and consistently feel grateful for the kindness shown to us. The entire staff, front desk, valet....are ALL professional and courteous!! Thank you!!
This is a beautiful hotel. The entire staff was so kind and gave us great recommendations for places to see and eat. The rooms were modern and clean. Can’t wait to come back!
See above
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was amazing will definitely be staying again worth every penny. Make sure to check out the pool and spa.
Beautiful hotel with wonderful ambiance and food in the middle of everything! Will come back.
Beautiful hotel located in downtown Mobile. A true classic.
The architecture of this building is amazing! Excellent staff and restaurant is really good.
It was great.
Amazing hotel with amazing staff.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Battle House!
Beautiful hotel and great service
Room was nice. Exterior was beautiful and clean
Great stay. Friendly staff.
Loved the hotel! Absolutely beautiful! Staff were so friendly and accommodating! Only small things to point out is sink in bathroom was clogged and water didn’t drain properly. Also need more plug ins beside the bed. Nowadays people have lots to plug in so need more usb connections
Quick overnight trip got there really late, but had the Continental breakfast in our room delivered by Catherine who was precious just really fast but really enjoyed it beautiful hotel 5 miles
Front desk staff pleasant but not well trained on hotel amenities.
Pwrfection
We had a 3 day getaway. Stayed at the BattleHouse and it was perfect. We used the Spa so relaxing people were professional
Unique hotel
Highly recommend
It was a beautiful hotel and great location. Would definitely stay there again
The young lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful in getting us into a nice room. We ate in the main restaurant and everyone from hostess, waitress, to manager were very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Food was also very good and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend!!!
The hotel is beautiful!
Beautiful hotel located in the heart of downtown Mobile.
The Battlehouse is always lovely and this trip did not disappoint.
My wife and I just did an overnight stay in Mobile to go see a concert at Soul Kitchen. The Battle House was a couple of blocks away so we decided to stay there. The hotel is very nice and the staff was excellent. I would highly recommend staying at the Battle House if you are visiting Mobile.
Fantastic!
Hotel was lovely. The only problem was the poor service across the board. They need to get their act together. But the room was comfortable and quiet. The main lobby is beautiful.
The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa is the only full service hotel in Mobile. The staff are welcoming, friendly and professional. The hotel offers a great stay in a high class property. The property does not disappoint. Whenever we are in Mobile, The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa is our hotel of choice.
We have enjoyed the Battlehouse many times and always feel refreshed and relaxed. It is luxurious and the on site restaurant is excellent!
Beautiful hotel and everyone was so nice and professional.
Gorgeous property
Business trip
Everything was excellent
Very nice place, convenient location, staff is very nice and helpful.
The staff was particularly friendly and helpful. One went above and beyond, sending us a nice anniversary dessert.
The small pub with the piano player was wonderful. He was so friendly and a great musician.
Excellence as always Olga at the Trellis Room is Superb
The Battle House is impressive in terms of service, decor, history, and dining. The hotel is quiet in the evening( except, perhaps, in the piano bar at the Tavern Grill!), and it is easy to unwind and enjoy the views of themport/ downtown. The hotel is within easy walking distance of downtown, the port, the museum, the cathedral; however, I would caution solo travelers against walking alone late at night. The hotel,is easy to access, and easy to exit, and the valet service is superb. If you are looking for a home away from home in Mobile, you cannot do better than the Battle House.
Gem in the Heart of Downtown Mobile
Amazing customer service and gorgeous hotel in the heart of downtown Mobile.
Exceeded our expectations
Fabulous stay at this gorgeous old (but completely refurbished) hotel in the heart of Mobile. Friendly and accomodating staff, delicious breakfast, huge room with super comfy beds. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Beautiful Hotel!
Fantastic stay! We will be back.
The staff was great
We stayed for Mardi Gras. It was an easy walk everywhere and the parade went right in front of the hotel. Very nice place to stay and very comfortable bed.
It was ok for the price but wouldnt stay there again. Price too high for the service, the food was ok but not great. Got squirted in my eye by the conditioner in the shower that shot straight out and upward. Glad it didnt do any damage.
We liked the hotel because it is convenient and very lovely. However, check in was difficult because our room wasn't ready. They never called us to let us know when it was ready as promised and when we came back we had to stand in line again. The worse part was that I paid through Expedia ahead of time, but Battle House charged me again. It has taken me over a month to get a refund and the only reason I got it finally is because I got the credit card company involved. Be very careful if you pay before you check in because you may find that you've paid double!
Great that the bar/restaurant was open during Christmas. as nothing nearby was. Thank you for that. One staff member at the restaurant was, however, working while quite sick - not cool. But otherwise a great experience.
Expensive and dirty
$400 for a night’s stay, with tax added, is an expensive night for a room where the toilet wallpaper is stained and peeling, a shower that barely works and carts full of paint pots in the hallway. Bed was fine, but everything just felt grimy. Bathroom was gross.
We loved the heated pool and staff.
Love the Battle House hotel.
Great hotel. Great staff. Pillows suck. I mean they’re so bad. Not just this hotel but every hotel. I mean why is this? Also, thermostat only allows room guest to have limited control.
Downgraded my room without telling me.
I booked the side balcony suite so we could have a balcony to get fresh air on. Our road trip was long and we wanted to relax in the room and order room service. They downgraded my room without telling me. I called the front desk to address my issue and the young man was nice but they only offered us breakfast vouchers. It’s the holidays and they are busy so I get it. Unfortunately the person working the breakfast bar just kept saying I only had a $10 coupon in my hand. The whole situation was kind of tacky. My husband and I just gave the coupon to someone coming in for breakfast and left without eating. I was not refunded any amount for the room they put me in and we paid $360 for one night. We will not be coming back.
No coffee in the rooms. Coffee isn't available in the hotel until 6:30. I was awake for 2 hours before I could have any coffee. Probably won't stay there in the future due to this.
Good
Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Had a spa treatment with Brad which was phenomenal.
The Spa was AMAZING!
Favorite place to stay
Everything was wonderful and beautiful.
great team of people
The service on this visit was impeccable! I really enjoy having the varied dining options without having to leave the safety of the hotel.
People running in the halls, drunk people screaming on the balconies at all hours of the night! Never again!!!
Friendly staff, safe hotel, beautiful spa
Meh, Kind staff, crummy conditions
Wedding night stay. The staff was very nice. Was a little surprised that food dropped off was not placed in the fridge so it sat out for hours and was unsafe to eat. The hotel is sad. Dated. Dingy. For such a focal point of the city, it is badly in need of updating. Not worth the price.
Nice Hotel B+
We were unaware the hotel had two separate towers. My wife is handicapped, and the distance from the check in to our room made it difficult. There was no coffee pot in the room, which was disappointing to the staff, however, was very friendly, and tried to help where they could.
Nice hotel and good weekend!
Just excellent
Terrible and I didn’t get any money back.
We were first sent to the wrong room and someone was in there. The second room we were sent to was dirty… there was dental floss and women’s hygiene items in the bathroom garbage. The sink looked like someone dumped dirt in it. Our third room was an upgrade but the air kept turn off during the night.
Perfect Location in Downtown Mobile
Perfect Location in Downtown Mobile. Service level was great and valet service was flawless.
Loved everything about this hotel. Margie the bartender was wonderful!
The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and dining options. The hotel room was roomy and in pretty good condition. The bed and pillows were amazing. The bathroom needed a little maintance with the wall paper and flooring.
Convenient to down town restaurants. Love the hotel room and customer service.
Poor lighting.
Just one night. Wanted balcony w river view. Did not get.
Beautiful hotel and especially the domed ceiling in the lobby! Nice fitness center and the rooms were spacious and very clean and comfortable. Will stay here again!
Peaceful Rest
Everything was wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed our peaceful night away from the kids.
The Battle House is a lovely hotel, with multiple din8ng options and easy access to the interstate.
Good hotel in great central location
Amazing architecture in lobby, decent size room, good shower, nice gym and pool. Great location to explore town and non-valet parking available nearby. Good base for overnight family stay in Mobile and would choose to stay here on business too.
This hotel is probably my favorite hotel to stay at. We make a point to stay there if we’re going to be in Mobile or around it. We have stayed there twice and had both good experiences.
Excellent combination of historic and modern, beauty and comfort
Canceled my reservation after arriving
Battle house stay
Best hotel in Mobile! Clean, comfortable rooms. The lobby is amazing!! Walkable to lots of restaurants. Great place to stop by and get a good night rest!
The Batle House is a lovely property in an excellent location; however, the quality of service is declining and certainly not worth what is being charged. When I entered my room, there was water scattered on the surface of the desk, there was no body wash in the shower dispenser ( this is the second time IN A ROW that this has been the case), the towel holder fell off the wall( it is not properly attzached), keys were removed from my key ring by the valet…these are all small irritations, but they add up quickly. Defini Not what I would expect of this hotel.
I booked a king-sized bed, they didn't have one and I had to sleep on a pull out bed in a conference area. Considering I paid $$$. Not too happy with this hotel.
