Stay at this place in swissotel Al Maqam was a nightmare not because of the property or room cleanliness just because of the staff specially duty manager is soo arrogant and unfriendly named Ahmed we got into a little trouble and told him about it but he didn't listen to any of our trouble i wont suggest anyone to stay at this property. We had various issues staying in this property and not a single one got addressed sorry swissotel Al Maqam very atrocious service

I stayed with my family in one of the standard rooms, we asked for baby crib/cot for our one year old and after placing him inside, we heard him crying and noticed that the cot had a hole in the side and he was falling out with his head and arm. This is extremely dangerous and unsafe and when I complained to the hotel employees, I was just given an apology. The glory days of this hotel are over, I am never staying at Swissotel again and will be sure to take legal action for this incident with the corporate office.

Near to Haram

It was and excellent place to stay and perform umrah from the haram view. Alhumdulillah

Location is very convenient to the Haram, the breakfast options are amazing. The staff isn’t the most friendly. We had to ask multiple times for items before it was delivered to us.

I stayed at this hotel for the first time and me and my family really enjoyed our time during this stay. Breakfast was on point, a lot of options to choose from. Located just a short walk from gate 89 (Haram). Every th big you need is located close by.

A great location and staff.

The room that was given to me was clean but had a very strong odor. It’s smelled like mold. I asked for a different room that was the same. It felt like the furniture the doors the carpet all carried the mold smell. Needs upgrading updating.

A lot of improvement is required. Clarity is needed on number of beds in room

Great property and great location. I enjoyed the ability to access the hotel lobby via the escalators as well as the elevator VS other hotels at the Clock tower where the only access is the elevator (long wait).

Booked the hotet 3 months in advance and asked for connecting rooms due to travelling with kids. Yet they gave me two room in two different floors!!! Super pathetic! House keeping staffs are great but reception is hopeless, specially the ladies at the reception don’t have any customer service skills

The hotel needs maintenance the rooms in floor 45 and above are new but lower rooms are old and air condition is noisy the to lite also flush very old .. alsi they gave me smoking room they I didn’t ask for smoking room it’s smell is very bad

Service is excellent from the check in desk, to housekeeping to room service. Extra water when asked Rooms always tidy - not just the beds. They do the whole room. Room service food is of excellent quality. View is amazing Thank you so much for making my Umrah so enjoyable. May Allah reward you

Wonderful Staff

This has been the worst experience of my life. Due to a miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel, I was informed upon arrival that my reservation had been canceled, and the nearest available room was four days away. I was forced to book a room at a different hotel at a much higher rate. I will never use this hotel again.

Dont buy Haram View room until you see the room

All uk/usa residents be aware they sell you this title Haram View. Which is not true. They show wrong quotation on Hotels and all other booking apps. Once you arrive at reception, they see your passport and if you are british or American muslims they start pretending that they fully booked and have no haram view room available. I pre paid for 2 nights haram view room with king size bed and reception manager smirked said oh you mean Kaabah view, because haram view is i can offer with addition to [ few hundred extra hotels.com not leting me mention price] from the previous amount i paid for 2 nights. Then he offered Junior Suite 3 times more stated last one left, i refused than he said oh i can do a hundred reduction for you. Moral of story Do Not Buy through apps specially those who planning to book haram view room. They all lying. Single beds are very uncomfortable dont buy it.

Awkward to get around in the building and housekeeping don’t change sheets! Stains on the curtains and lamp shades.. not very 5 star as they advertise the place

Rooms were Damp and A/C faulty, kids got sick, wasn’t until night 4/5 we were moved to another room

The front desk is not fluent in English and the communication is terrible. The girl took somebody else while she was helping me check out. Terrible customer service

Room with Kaba view - Amaing stay

It was one of the most amazing stay. Room with full kaba view was a blessing.

Thank you for the wonderful start. It is easily walkable to Al-Haram. Friendly staff. Nice concierge facility staff. Overall highly recommended.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel. The best thing was that there was no rush on the elevators!

Excellent service.

It's really close to Masjid al-Haram and Kaaba, MashaAllah! I have one complain. They do not provide unscented soap and toiletries. It is essential because all the guests are here to perform Umrah or Hajj.

The property is very nice. It’s near haram. The staff are very, very helpful. specially, room service The buffet it’s OK, but you can get more options outside for less Price The worst thing is the elevators they need to sell the problem of having more elevators

I liked mostly everything. Property should have easy car parking and easy accessibility to local transportation. Odd that they provide a fridge but no microwave.

Excellent location. Very clean. The cleaning stuff and house keeping staff are excellent. The reception staff some were good but a few were rude. One advice is not to get any service that you want to cancel later on. We bought the food and were told we can cancel and get money back at any time. But it was so hard and had to wait till day of checking, and even then one reception lady said rudely “Khalas we have no cash to refund. Go back and come back later”. Of course I fought to get the cash back with a different gentleman in the reception and that took an hour. But the point is some reception staff are good and some are not like the lady who told us to go away despite me asking legitimately for my $1300 back in riyals.

Pros: Walkable distance to haram. Rooms with partial or full Kaaba view Cons: if only all the reception staff were polite with non-Arabic speaking customers. The menu items are always the same daily and always a long line for omelet.

Convenience to Haram is for sure but getting taxi rides is horrible, security staff is not trained or not understanding

Hotel is good but area around the property not clean. I know it’s huge area and lots of people walk there so difficult to main cleaners but they are trying. If it’s clean it will be good.

Swiss hotel was lovely Close to the Grand Mosque

This hotel was very close to Masjid al-Haram and was very clean and accessible. The staff was good and room service was excellent. The only bad part was I book this hotel with Expedia and there was an issue with booking another room, so Expedia did not help with that situation. I recommend to not use Expedia or any other 3rd part agency for booking.

I love this place, has been my 4th being at Swissôtel Almaqam Mekkah and will definitely come again. Close proximity to Alharam and view are amazing.
