Convenient location

Great location for historic sites, all within walking distance.

Apart from the location, this hotel does not have much else to offer. The rooms were not very clean. VIP access was not honored despite Expedia Gold status. For the price there are far better options available and I would not recommend staying here.

Very nice place

The hotel is located in the tourist part of the city, conveniently adjacent to a tram stop. It is bright and clean throughout. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with all the necessary features, including a safe. The cleaning staff were most helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, and I cannot say enough good things about the waiter, who was most attentive. Also, the roof restaurant, with its splendid view of the Blue Mosque, provided a wide variety of excellent entre's. The only negative was the concierge, who we asked to set up a tour of Hagia Sofia for us, but did not inform us of some additional payments we had to make to the tour guide, after we had started the tour. Apart from this, the hotel was excellent, and I would not hesitate to stay ther again.

Nice location.

Close to everything

Fabulous hotel, spotlessly clean. The staff are amazing always smiling and helpful. We stayed for 7 nights in a deluxe attic room, which was fantastic. Don't be fooled by the term 'attic', it was big, plenty of room, very comfy bed, large shower room with toiletries and soft towels. A safe and fridge was in the room, bottled water every day. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.Even though the hotel was central, it's within walking distance of most of the major sites, with easy access to buses and trams for others. The area is very busy, but you couldn't hear any outside noise in the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to everyone. I loved it.

Great Hotel, Just bad check in / wrong room

The Hotel is great unfortunately our start was everything but great as we received the wrong room and at first there was not a solution that we could accept. We did change the room the next day but again they did not give us 2 separate beds and we had to ask again as this was what we booked. after a lot of back and forth we received a complimentary dinner and were told a refund for the first night. We are still waiting for the refund??? Besides the issue and what we felt like bad check in the rest of the stay was great, breakfast staff is super nice, the spa is amazing and the locotion can't be better. I would probably chose the Sura Hotel instead of Sura Design as you have to cross the street to use the Pool , spa , garden etc.

The Sura Design is well situated in the Sultanahmet area and opposite the Hagia Sophia Sura as well. The hotel is nice and decorated well. Staff are helpful and nice. You can also go to the other hotel where there is a pool and also have breakfast there. My only reason for 4 stars is the breakfast could be better labelled and as a vegetarian choice was limited, although they did always try. On the whole a great place.

Great location! Walkable to main tourist attractions and shopping. In the heart of the old city. However, the area prices are expensive especially with Istanbul inflation recently. Otherwise it was perfect if this was your first time in Istanbul. Hotel provided transportation to airport for a fee. Breakfast was included and perfect to get our day started. They have an amazing restaurant located downstairs Galeyan and it had the best manti we have ever had! Delicious! Would recommend this hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay. Staff was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Location was just perfect. Walking distance to Grand Bazaar, parks, Hagia Sophia Mosque and many restourants. Can't wait to go back!

First of all, we came in pretty late in the evening and Matt was fantastic and helping us get settled and also getting us set up for food. The next day we enjoyed the Turkish bath and spa, ulan and kadek went above and beyond and really did a fantastic job. Over all the staff at Sura did exceed our expectations.

The photos of this property were the selling point, and it did not disappoint. The room I booked was very large, and beautifully decorated. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and the porter provided information about getting around and highlights of the immediate vicinity. Special shout out to ilham, Sezgin and Damindo - the team from the breakfast dining room. After just one morning, they knew exactly how I liked my coffee, and that I needed caffeine even before contemplating food. A great introduction to the friendliness and attention to detail of the hotel staff, and Turkish people. The selection at breakfast was great. I also had a chance to dine at the rooftop Panorama Restaurant, with a wonderful selection of wine and local cuisine. Highly recommended and close to everything in a bustling neighbourhood.

Excellent staff. Great proximity to the Haggia Sophia and other highlights. Slightly in disrepair. I would recommend it to anyone for their first visit to Istanbul.

The hotel fabulous, it was very clean and staff were very helpful. The breakfast was very good and the view from the restaurant was wonderful. This hotel was surrounded by good restaurants and easy walking distance to attractions, shops and public transport.

Second time in Istanbul and decided to use this Hotel and so glad I did. Great location and within walking distance to some of the main things to do. Hotel was nice and was given a free upgrade on our room. Margarita was extremely helpful and simply the best. She went above and beyond to help me get my phone back after leaving it on a transfer bus. Couldn’t help her enough

I stayed at Sura Design Hotel multiple times. I really like that it has everything in one place. Multiple restaurants, great spa, pool, roof top. Staff was polite and welcoming. And in addition to it, location is close to so many attractions. And there so many different restaurants around, some work all night long, it's very convenient.

Incredible staff members make you very comfortable in this hotel . Love the location easily accessible to all . Will definitely recommend it to all my families and friends . 😊❤️

A nice place

The hotel is very well situated. Walking distance to many of the places in 'old town' that we wanted to visit. Very clean. Staff interactions were fine. their breakfast offerings were varied, and tasty. The rooms on the 4th floor can be a bit tight particularly if your attic window has a sloped ceiling. Very clean. The bed pillows were less comfortable than expected but acceptable. The comforters are short for the size of the bed and could not be adjusted.

Room felt dark as not much light came through window due to hedge outside Shower door leaked Comfortable bed Complimentary water each day Not hotels fault but had to brave the constant pestering of restaurant promoters every time we left or returned to hotel

Another great Stay

Our second stay with Sura was another great experience. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. The location also can’t be beat!

A good hotel in walking distance of the main sites.

Location of property is excellent but everything else sucks, our room carpet was filthy dirty, between blackened carpet to spills on carpet which were not cleaned, felt room was very unhygienic, brought it to front desk attention to get it clean before next guest arrives, room service terrible ask for ice their ice machine was broken, I have seen better motel 6 then this 5 star hotel,

Amazing experience

We were originally put into a room where there was constantly loud music being played from the outside restaurants but then was offered an upgrade for £60 where it was a lot more quieter and a lot bigger room. Happily took it as we were there for 5 days. The location is perfect and centralised to everything, the metro was a 2 minute walk along with grand bazar only being a 10 minute walk. Staff were all friendly and were happy to help whenever needed. The breakfast was lovely in sura design, which is a bonus as you have the opportunity to either go to Sura design or sura Hagia Sophia.

Our first visit to Istanbul and we spent 5 nights at this fabulous, centrally located hotel. Well looked after by the staff, esp. Burak, Òzay and Aden, who really went out of their way to answer our queries, arrange outings and in general, make our visit a real pleasure. Thank you. Btw the buffet breakfast is EXCELLENT!

The hotel was very wonderful and welcoming, the service was great and everyone was so nice and friendly. Clean environment, delicious food and such a beautiful relaxing hotel. The spa treatment was amazing and the concierge were very helpful with touristic information.

Staff were lovely and very efficient. Clean and a good area away from the sights.

Perfect for Sightseeing

A lovely hotel, with very comfortable and clean rooms. We could easily walk to all the main attractions. The front desk staff especially Rezza(?) were very pleasant and helpful. I would happily stay here again.

Really great stay

Really enjoyable stay. Service is very good, and location is perfect-so close to the historical sights but still mostly quiet at night so able to sleep well in the super comfy beds. Rezzak and Salma on reception were lovely! Breakfast is mainly Turkish but you can ask for eggs cooked the way you like it. Hotel very stylish.

I wasn't offered an upgrade even though the Hotel was a VIP access Hotel, it was half empty and I was a Gold member.

Amazing location!

This place was amazing. This location was close walking distance to the main tourist attractions, but yet tucked away on a small, secluded sidestreet. You walk out the doors and there’s restaurants everywhere. The view from the rooftop restaurant was gorgeous, we didn’t eat there, But had a drink to soak up the view. What I didn’t know, is you get to use all the facilities at the sister hotel across the street. This is where the breakfast buffet and pool are located. It’s literally five steps across the street. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommended.

The Sura Design Hotel was very good. The area was in a perfect location. Restaurants were excellent, concierge was great helped my friend locate her jacket at the airport lost and found. Only negative thing was my son and his girlfriend had massages at the spa and it was freezing in the massage rooms. About 35 degrees it was an extremely unpleasant service.

We had a wonderful time for the second time this year and will definitely use the hotel for a third time if we return to Istanbul .. the little road with the two Sura hotels are a real little busy hub with all the very good restaurants and the lovely coffee shop within 20 steps and then the close proximity of the two mosques tourist attractions shops and the Grand Bazaar within a 10 minutes walk .. the hotel staff are so friendly chatty and helpful .. the house keeping lady kept our room beautifully set up and clean every day with water topped up 🙌 .. the room itself 413 was comfortable enough the furnishings and decor in the attic rooms possibly need a much needed refurbishment with a brighter colour on the walls as their quite dark and dimly lit and a better way of covering the arched windows to keep the light out would be good 👍 .. but for a 4 night stay it was fine .. we had a lovely time staying with you again thank you

Great location close to attractions. Very communicative prior to stay and happy to help organise taxis, activities etc. Spacious rooms and well sound proofed considering a fairly noisy street outside.

Ideal location

A perfect location for a first visit to Istanbul with the incredible historic locations so very near, and with a close tram stop to get around easily. Hotel staff were really helpful and friendly, Mert Sahin helped with my check-in, he was professional, kind and very welcoming.

5 star hotel for relatively low price

The staff were excellent especially Selma. Made us feel very welcome! Only downside was the air conditioning, it kept turning off despite closing all doors and windows and someone kept smoking inside our building on the same level as it kept coming through the vents. It has so much potential but I dont think it is a 5 star hotel... Yet.

The location of this property is PERFECT if those who wish to visit all of the tourist sites in Istanbul. Everything is within walking distance. Also, great variety of restaurants right out of the front door.

My wife and I were so impressed and grateful to have met Ms. Selma Lankin. She was so friendly, accommodating, very sweet and funny! We think she’s a great asset for Sura hotels. The hotels in the world should need to have a “Selma Lankin” in their staff. Thank you for the great days we’ve had at Sura Design!

Overall my stay was nice but room needs upgrades . My carpet was stained.

Sura was located in an easily walkable location to most all of the activities we were interested in. The staff was phenomenal and we were always treated well. Breakfast was delicious as well. We highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel and good location but very rude front office member of staff called Fatih. He has no customer service and disgusting behaviour towards guest. He was shouting and abusive and also made some racist comments, not what you expect from a 4/5 star hotel. Many guests were astonished and shocked by his behaviour and unprofessional mannerism.

This hotel is perfectly located to explore the big ticket tourism spots in Istanbul. There is something special about hearing the call to prayer waft across the road from the Blue Mosque. We will be back.

Stayed in room 112 everything was good about the room besides the air conditioning kept going off a min into switching it on, had to keep pressing the switch on button several times until it finally stayed on... Everything else was good, would recommend to have breakfast at the sura hagia hotel though.

Our stay was very enjoyable and the staff is great.

The only privilege in the hotel is the location and amazing places around it.

Walkable to all attractions. Over rated for the price. Terrace is not accessible except for dinner. Breakfast is NOT served with the view of Hagia Sophia, and that was the reason I booked in this hotel. I would rate it a 3 stars hotel

This is rated 5 stars, which is isn't. Let's call it 4 stars. The best part are the people that work there who are wonderful and the location is good if you're a tourist. Carpets should not have stains on them in a 5 star hotel. The TV sound didn't work properly on arrival. Got fixed second day. Lovely view from the resturang on top of the hotel. Food was good as well. Great massage in the sister hotel across the street. Overall a good value. I would come back.

I stayed here for a quick international layover. 1 AM check-in was easy and efficient with friendly staff. Breakfast was good with a nice view from the terrace restaurant and the hotel was centrally centrally located for a morning speed walk around top sites of Sultanahmet.
