Staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel needs upgrades and repairs.

The location suits my needs and the lobby is in excellent condition and is inviting. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The rooms have seen better days and motel seems to be saving money: no facial tissue boxes in rooms, no waste basket liners, no recycle, very minimal continental breakfast, no USB ports in room lamps, furniture cushions peeling, trim broken off, fridge missing feet so door scrapes along carpet, parking lot lights burned out. Snack and drink machines are upstairs and no elevator so difficult for anyone like myself with mobility issues. There always seemed to be a smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway. Some simple updates would go a long way to making this motel more inviting.

Sometimes we make mistakes

First off there is no obvious sign indicating the entrance to the property. When we got there we had to traverse the pot holes on the dark parking lot. In our room the toilet continuously ran throughout the night. When we went down in the morning for the “super breakfast” we had a coffee and nothing else.

Worst Hotel

Incredibly disappointed this property is well below standards. The couch in the room was ripped and worn could not sit on it. The carpet was not vacuumed and was stained. There was garbage left between the beds. The mattress had a disgusting brown stain. The bathroom was not clean had hair in the shower. The room heater in the room Was so loud it kept us up all night . There was garbage left between the beds. In the bathroom, the blow dryer attachment was left on the counter . I would not recommend this property ever, we have stayed at many hotels and this by far was the worst we’ve ever seen, for the money we spent Super 8 should be ashamed of charging this kind of money for this kind of property The manager on site was accommodating, but said this was a Super 8 issue a hotel By Wyndham chain . Next visit to Hamilton we will definitely venture into Hamilton where there are much better hotels.

Asked for an outrageously large “damage” deposit. After seeing condition of room and furnishing felt typical guest must be undesirable

vinyl furniture and couch had hardly any vinyl on them.worn out. I pulled open the drawer on the night table and the bottom didn't come out with the rest of the drawer. The employee's were amazing though.

Well I was staying there for a while then I had my kids come to visit me I put them in there own room and I was in a room for a good month everything was fine unit I got a phone call from my son telling me to come to his room and there it was a bed bug so they put them in another Roman to which it smelt disgusting like cigarette smoke then finally a room then that was fine until at around one in the morning I was just relaxing on my bed when something cought my eye crawling on my leg ant there it was a bedbug so when I went to let them know the first thing they asked me was did I get bitten so I showed them the picture I took of it and got a new room but unfortunately they have multiple rooms that have bedbugs so needless to say not impressed anymore I have found a much better bed and breakfast witch is an apt all inclusive for cheaper much cheaper much nicer

Won’t go there again! Always a problem with police being there for conflicts. The parking lot is a mess. Breakfast is not a breakfast at all. Basically nothing!

not a nice place to stay

Probably should change their name to below average 8. My room was kind of dirty. There was hair on the bathtub and parts of the bathroom were clearly in need of repair. They also didn't have an iron or a board in the room. I could have used one this morning. I don't like complaining but these guys earned it. On the plus side, checking in and out was very easy and there weren't any creatures actively feeding on me during the night. I guess I'll take that as the win and count myself lucky.

Blood on sheet in bedeoom, curtains had holes in them and ripped. The ice machine was broken. Furniture was older and frayed. Hotel was run down and old.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Needed a lot of maintenance. Tap on bathroom since came off in my hand, large tear in carpet, heater/air conditioner vent full of dirt, water leak in one corner had paint peeling off wall, LED light at entry flickering and failing.

Room was dirty, box spring stained, air conditioning did not cool the room, bugs in bathroom (possibly a roach), patched spots on walls but not painted, found food in the mini fridge freezer, wifi and tv reception were horrible, parking lot was not lit, uneven and full of potholes. Nothing like what was represented. Have had this issue with Hotels.com before. They need to vet their hotels much better. Will likely not use them again.

There was only nice staff, the property was rundown old furniture, sqeeky beds, old carpet, ran out of toiletries paper, two sets of towels for 4 persons, parking lot not lit up, rough driveway, not as expected for a national chain of hotels, adxertisment shown as it was when it first opened 30yrs ago or so

This is the ONLY AIRPORT HOTEL in Hamilton, and what an embarrassment it must be to YHM and the City of Hamilton. The property is old, run down and very poorly operated. The furniture in the rooms should be hauled directly to the landfilll. The bed was horrible and completely worn out. I have no idea how WYNDHAM can allow this property to fly their brand……….it should pull the franchise immediately.

Furniture look like it was just put up in a room off the street bathroom shower stall leaked continuously wouldn't give me another room they said they were at full capacity when there's only five cars in the parking lot and it cost $140 and it was garbage garbage garbage

the only good thing was it was near the airport . the grounds was in sad condition . driveway was bad with no marking for parking . the hallway carpet was stained . the room walls needed minor repairs , carpet was bad . the love seat was disgusting , the mini fridge that was about 18'' x18''x 18'' sitting on the floor not a stand and did not work good . the door handle was loose and did not lock . i had to wait to see if it locked . the free breakfast was a choice of coffee , tea , cookies , apple , granola bar or a mini muffin . i will not be back . the picture on the web site could have been when they first opened .

Do NOT book with this hotel! Read the online reviews first, they are all 1-stars! Our room was full of cigarrette smoke and Super 8 would not move us to another room. We could not stay because of the smoke. Super 8 would not give us a refund or help us move to another hotel. They still have our money. This hotel is terrible, dirty, not maintained, yellow linens plus, NO cell signal to any of our mobile phones. Hotels.ca did not refund our money because Super 8 refuses to process a refund. Wyndham should pull their name from this site as we have had good Super 8/Wyndham experiences elsewhere. The staff have obviously dealt with many complaints before and are not approachable. Their hands are tied as the owner has a strict no-refund policy even when it is 100% the hotel's error. Do not stay here, you will get scammed. Please ensure you read the various online reviews/sources.

This particular Super 8 needs to be razed to the ground. It's a travesty that people are being charged at all to stay, so paying $180 for one night is unspeakable. I wish I could attach photos but believe me, do not ever stay there. It's dirty, carpets visibly worn, bathroom tap broken, insufficient toilet paper, toiletries etc. Double mattress uncomfortable, bedding shabby, sheets, pillowcases and towels not white. Parking lot unkempt, cigarette butts, etc. STAY AWAY

I have no problem staffs was very helpful and friendly, people review about bed bugs its the ppl who rent the property are often times the one who brought it to the property without knowing then give the property a bad name my family enjoy the short stay so did i. Only problem the breakfast could have been more appealing small muffins, apple, breakfast bar cereal oats different flavour tea and coffee

the shower was crammed. they had a weird tub insert that comes off the wall at least 8" then a straight curtain so very clostraphobic, had to stand sideways. there was also a carpet staple that I actually cut my foot on and when I told the hotel, and asked if I can get another room, they weren't able to. I even offered to downgrade with no refund from the suite to a room with 2 beds. lots of noise of people slamming doors and no elevator. also asked to be put on the main floor, but didn't get it

Worst stay at a motel. Smelly, internet barely worked, ac unit worked but was loud, tv worked spottingly but had no sound, room door barely closed, parking lot NOT in good shape with huge pot holes, abandoned restaurant nearby, screens in disrepare, old mattress outback ( right outside my window) bring your own pillows cause i wouldnt call the ones provided pillows. At least the bathrooms were clean. And checking in early was a breeze (although i wish i hadn’t checked in at all) and i brought bed bug bites home as a souvenir!

This place is terrible, smells awful and is dirty. I prepaid for the room and despite that I ended up leaving and getting a room somewhere else. The bedsheets were gross and dirty. I have never in my life thought a hotel could legally be so bad. The walls were covered with dirt and the room reeked of smoke even though it’s a nonsmoking facility apparently. It’s so gross I was scared to sit down on the chairs in the room nevermind the bed. The hallways smell so bad. Do not book here

The fridge worked...only nice thing that I can say about the property. I wouldnt want to leave my dog in the room. It was very dirty. The bed had a humongous dip like a canoe in the middle that traps you when you first lie down. As a disabled person this was terrifying. The bathroom was not accessible. The key cards for the room did not work ...two times we were sent back with new key cards. The 2 ladies we dealt with were wonderful.

The staff were kind and patient. It is in a convenient location between Hamilton and Caledonia, near the Hamilton airport. However, the place is a little run down - with damaged ceiling, a massive hole in the window screen, a faulty bathroom tap that caused water to flow everywhere whenever it was turned on, the TV volume blasting even at the lowest setting on the remote, bed was slumping down on the one side. There was a very limited selection for breakfast (instant oatmeal, mini muffins, coffee and milk) - with no hot water available.

The property, fixtures & fittings were tired but clean. The night staff were very helpful (we were out in the day). Situated midway between Toronto and Niagara, this was great tourist place to lay your head.

The locks were broken on the room. The room stunk like wet dog. The advertised pictures did not match reality. No exercise room even though one is advertised. The couch in the room was disgusting along with the chair so bad I would not sit on them. The air conditioning did not work in the room. The edges of the furniture looked like a dog chewed on them for months. The hot tub is filled with garbage. The were water stains in the ceiling from leakage. The advertised restaurant has been closed for a while.

I was really disappointed there were someone else’s beard shavings all over sink in the bathroom. Our room smelled like a sweaty old armpit and the shower has someone else’s dirt all in it. I took pictures. We stayed in this hotel before and our experience was good but this time the clinginess was horrible. We didn’t check in till 11 o’clock at night and left by 8 AM so it’s a lot of money to spend on a dirty room that we could’ve just driven home that night.

The complimentary breakfast was coffee and an apple (the muffins were gone). The patios doors wouldn't slide. The bathroom sink faucet was broken. The place was inexpensive though.

The front desk clerk was nice, and accommodated us with a first floor room, but the property is seriously deteriorating. The room was incredibly overpriced for what was delivered. Towels were yellowish, sliding glass doors didn’t lock, holes in the wall, burn marks and stains on the carpet. Didn’t test the sheets, we bought new bedding at Walmart. The only positive about this property was proximity to our event.

Poorly maintained, like they figure folks who smoke and/or have pets don't care about quality. (Both are allowed here though we had neither). The breakfast was less than pathetic, the furniture in poor repair, the curtains makeshift. We were supposed to stay for a week but left after the first night. Not a place for a vacation.

The sofa in the room was falling apart. Very old with the fake leather completely peeling off. Carpets were old, stained, and in need of replacement. Breakfast choices were very limited, with no-where to sit. Bathroom had been refurbished

Property is old with no renovation. Bat smells in the room especially when you use AC. It stinks very bad. Really bad. Only option that you have is to shut off AC and open the window if the weather permits. The sink was leaking underneath.

After reading reviews online I got concerned about staying here, but I was pleasantly surprised. The building is clean, staff is friendly, the room was awesome, outdated but smelled and looked clean. Bathtub was awesome and big. Overall was a good experience, definitely some thing's that need fixing but for the price we were happy.

Property was in awful condition...advertised gym was not open to customers....coffee maker in room did not work....room and furnishings were in various states of disrepair....questionable people were hanging around front entrance with open alcohol at all hours of the day/night.

Not a place I would stay again.

Nothing is good about the property, from smelly corridors n room, non working Air conditioning, dirty bedsheets, torn chair to the worst breakfast and very rude staff

The first room we had smelled like cat pee and had to change rooms. The staff was good about it. The second room had a staple sticking out the floor at bathroom door threshold, that i stepped on. The parking lot was full of potholes and sinkholes.

We checked into the Super8 in Mt. Hope July 20th.  The lady at the desk was very accommodating in showing us the room available.  We initially had some reservations due to aroma but after cursory inspection accepted the ground floor room.  It did not take us long to discover the mistake we had made.  In a cursory  synopsis here is what troubled us GREATLY: Sliding screen door had a damaged frame that did allow it to slide if careful attention given. We sat on the bed only to discover it emanated all kinds of unpleasant sounds.  If we lay on it and rolled over, it would DEFINITELY WAKE UP MY WIFE. OK perhaps one of us could sleep on the pull-out sofa bed mattress.  I opened the pull-out to discover an unmade bed.  We were not certain what the little black specs were, but they could have been dead bed bugs.  The mattress was perhaps 3" thick and when I sat on it, it felt as though the support structure underneath was broken.  It also sent complaining sounds throughout the room. The final straw was when I opened the top draw of the side table to discover I was looking at the floor carpeting - no bottom to the draw. We knew we could not sleep there last night and decided to notify the front desk that We will be driving home no matter the challenges doing so at that time of the late evening. We did not do any damage to the room and requested the desk attendant come and view what we are describing.  She said it was OK she believed us. I indicated we will be taking our personal effe

The parking lot was bad, the fridge didn't work and the air conditioning didn't work when we first arrived.

On my arrival the clerk was rude,my room was dirty and the bathroom wasn’t clean and the fan on the ceiling wasn’t working,I asked to switch room,i’ve been told there was nothing available,i asked them to at least fix the fan,they say it will be fix the next day, but that never happened and i stay there for 3 days!

Although the bed and pillow was comfortable, the hotel has not been maintained to any average standard. The towels were stained as were the bed sheets. The sofa and chair were torn. The breakfast included cold coffee, tiny muffins, and bruised fruit. The paint was peeling away from the ceiling, the light bulbs were blown in 2 lights. The shower had great water pressure though. Extremely limited supplies. Was there for 2 nights with another person and had a tiny bar of soap. I felt i should have seen tumble weeds blowing bt of a windy day. If travelling to the airport, would be very convenient for that.

The worst and dirtiest hotel that I used

Would not stay there again. We used to stay previously as it was convenient for us. It is now run down and in dire need of updating and renovations. What a poor way to welcome visitors to Hamilton with being the closest hotel to the airport. Shame on you Wyndham and Super 8.

Too expensive for the standard of service.

The hotel was in a sketchy area that did not feel safe outside at night. The carpet in the hallway was stained and there was dirt on the floors in the room. The location was in the middle of nowhere with no food options anywhere. My spouse had to stay for work for one night but will never stay again.

For a low budget stay

Pretty standard rooms for a reasonable price. We have stayed there a few times now when we're in the area. The parking lot definitely could use some attention as there is a big pothole at the mouth of the driveway, but a decent place to stay the night.

This hotel is absolutely a dive. It’s so filthy that I put a jacket down on the couch before I sat on it. Im not even a diva. The furniture is so worn that the pleather has worn right down, everything is either yellowed/ cracked/ rusted/ stained or pilled. I literally checked for bedbug bites in the mrng. It’s truly disgusting. Only upside; (and the only reason I didn’t leave right away), was because it’s close to the airport and we needed to be close due to the airline strike looming over us. Otherwise, don’t stay there - especially if alone. It’s absolutely filthy and worn down. In worse condition than most hostels.

The toilet in my room was dirty inside the bowl, as if someone had recently used it. The couch and chair in the room had missing vinyl on the pleather, no fridge in room, a very thin cover on top of the sheet and 2 small pillows. The 'Smart Start' breakfast was a choice of apples, bite sized muffins, granola bars and instant oatmeal. The hallways etc were similarly dirty, stained carpets etc. It is close to the Hamilton airport and parking was convenient.

I have seldomly seen such a run-down, virtually stinking room - and that for that price! Unbelievable... I absolutely regret having made this booking!!!

Breakfast, not muffins. Holes in walls, listened to someone get beaten on our first night. They claimed theu were getting kicked out but lied to a customer and they stayed the rest of the weekend. Was an awful stay. No number for the front desk in case of an emergency. All in all. Horrible
