Perfect retreat in the mountains and stay for a ski trip

My family enjoyed our stay. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. It was awesome to have a washer and dryer in the room. We used the pool many times. It was always clean and had generous hours. We will definitely come back.

Used for family Xmas. Accommodated us by having two rooms together. Fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, lots of towels and bedding. Kids loved pool, hot tubs and games room. Staff friendly and helpful.

The swimming pool and hot tub and waterslide were excellent for our grandkids of 6 yrs and 4 yrs. Nice suite excellent cooking facilities and BBQ on balcony. Nice place to stay for the price.

This was our second stay here and it has been fantastic both times.

Sunset Resorts was perfect for our needs. The suite was spacious and very well equipped. We had 10 family members in 3 rooms but were able to easily gather together. The staff were very helpful, the underground parking was good. We easily walked into town and found restaurants and enjoyed the atmosphere. We would definitely book at Sunset Resorts again.

Spacious room, would stay again.

We had a great stay! Unfortunately, our time at the property was limited due to our busy hiking schedule, but it was a nice place to come back to in the evening, and our two-bedroom accommodations were spacious, with plenty of room for our family of four to spread out. The hot tub was a nice way to end our day however the beds were very uncomfortable in our room and left us wanting more hot tub time! We had some housekeeping complaints as well, but nothing that would prevent me from staying there again.

The staff at the front desk are phenomenal and friendly. Pool is close and clean. Local restaurants offer discounts and we had several enjoyable meals. We actually stayed here twice as we changed travel plans to avoid jasper since the wildfires. Room we had the first time was smaller, one bedroom and cozy. The room we had the second time had two bedrooms and beautiful.

Just what I needed. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The kitchen had all the essentials. I wish they provided aluminum foil or baking sheet as well as salt.

Beds were a little hard. Lighting in kitchen could have been a lot brighter. Overall not bad. Floors could be washed. Not dirty to see but our feet were very dirty by end of day

The property itself was very nice. Finding the property was difficult. The office is hidden, there is no convenient parking to enter the office. Parking itself was unlike anything we had ever experienced. There were numerous codes for the underground garage, elevator, room entrance. It was very confusing. I would not recommend this location.

Two Night at Sunset

We booked two nights at Sunset Resorts Canmore. The room was very nice with a view of the mountains. The beds were very comfortable and clean, but the frames had terrible creaks in them. The office staff was very nice and very helpful. They also partnered with several local restaurants to received a 10% discount. It was a little tricky getting to Sunset Resorts due to road construction, but was certainly manageable once we knew the correct route. Enjoyed our visit!

That’s a good place to stay, price is worth it

We enjoyed our stay Sunset Resorts at Canmore. The front desk was helpful and friendly. Overall, the accommodations served our needs. The room was little outdated and still had Christmas decorations out which we thought was odd for August. Of note the fireplace didn't work, the sink in the bathroom drained slowly and the towel were rough.

Too much construction going on around the area

The staff are kind and helpful. Great location. The units are clean, well maintained and comfortable with great amenities. We would highly recommend this place!

Great place

First of all we got there around noon the lady at the front desk was rude and we were the only customer there we asked if our room was ready she said no and we asked her questions and she kept telling us that she will explain it later, she was just rude that's all, we travel a lot and wherever we get early we get a nice welcome and if the room is not ready they will asked us if we wanted to stay and wait for our room to be ready or use the amenities or put our lagguage in the locker if they have one. But anyways we left and did our excursion and we came back finally a different lady working in the front desk she's very nice and more professional even though she had a line in front of us. The place is awesome everything in our room was detailed and brand new, and the locations perfect! We will definitely coming back and stay here.

Check in was easy, but a little confusing to remember all of the codes to get into the different amenities. Room was clean and quiet. Kitchenette was small, but usable for our 3 night stay. Overall very happy. There is construction on the road just outside of the hotel, so hopefully that gets completed soon.

We stayed in a three bedroom suite for 4 nights. The beds are in poor condition. The water was leaking from the hot tub in the master bedroom. The TV s did not work.

Had access to a pool, but the hot tub wasn't operational at the time. We had a jacuzzi in the room so that wasn't an issue. Fill time on the tub was quite fast as well. Room layout was a bit weird, but nothing challenging. The room was HOT. Set to 30 when we walked in. Turned it down and opened small windows. Note said A/C wont turn on if less than 12C outside and use fans. Room stayed at 25C. Front desk was no help on this. The games room for the building was better than expected and we were disappointed that we didn't' check it out sooner. I wasn't a fan of the staff using it as a lunch room. Staff brought their lunch in and plopped down on the couches. As I was on the far edge of the room, I had to squeeze behind one of the couches to get by so I could exit. All staff were polite and the front desk was very helpful. Shout out to Joy at the front desk for such a bubbly and welcoming attitude. We even signed out a movie and board games (free) and returned upon checking out. A concern was the 5pm check in and 10am check out. This was mitigated a bit by them sending a message that we could check in earlier as the room was ready, which would have been fine, if we had known in advance but with it being so late in the day we had to plan around it. For the checkout, I paid the $40 charge to get a 1pm checkout. Others have checkout at 11am and you would ask for a bit longer (noon) at no charge.

Family friendly, and a great spot to unwind at the end of a busy day. We used the games room almost nightly. Friendly staff and fairly central/walkable.

Great location, clean and comfortable

We stayed in a 2 bedroom standard condo, which was very spacious and had every amenity you'd need for a stay including in-suite laundry facilities. The only complaint we had was the paper thin walls & ceilings, and the lack of blackout curtains (the sun rises very early!). Would recommend and would stay again!

Garbage would never stay again. The pool was closed and i never got a notice and they forced me to stay and not refund me. Honestly wasnt even that clean and wasnt very nice. Never coming back. Do not recommend

Apartment was nice, neighbors did laundry all day until 11 pm and then started again at 6 am the next day so all we heard all day and night was the spin cycle shaking our condo. Woke me up at 6 am. Came here to get away and relax and that didn’t happen, just annoying noise!

Place was clean and staff was polite but don’t like they charge fees if I left garbage in garbage can in room it seems there are fees for everything. Towels must be left in tub or another fee that’s why you hire staff so the rooms are taken care of.

Pros: - Pool/waterslide - Underground parking - Games room - Ability to rent movies - Spacious rooms with a fireplace, kitchenette, and jacuzzi - Good location: across Rocky bagel co and down the road from other shops - Discounts to different vendors Cons: - Resort fee ($15.00 a day which was not well explained. I was told it was $2.70, which is more reasonable, but was charged $32.70) - Bedding, particularly pillows, were awful - Shower is not pleasant depending on preference of pressure - Pullout bed was not comfortable

2/3 of the water park was not operating and the washing machine had so much mold in it that it wasnt safe to use, as soon as we opened up the door the entire apartment smelled like mold. We tried to clean it up to get rid the smell but thankfully the none of the thermostats worked and we were able to sleep with all the windows and doors open to outside and the apartment temperature never fell below 26c would not recommend

We loved our stay here. The room was beautiful and clean. The kitchen was well supplied and the tub was amazing

Went for a swim and got out of the pool went to go back into the main floor and the code would not let me in ..... i had to walk to the underground parking and get into my suite that way it was a bit chilly

New Years Stay

We rented the two bedroom jacuzzi suite. The place was clean upon checking in. The check in was quick and informative and they were good about replacing the garbages daily. This was the second time staying at this property and would definitely stay again.

Great for multi couple trips. The suite had everything we needed. Close to everyhting. Great amenities. Friendly staff. 9/10

We absolutely loved this place. Clean and excellent room layout for families. My daughter loved the pool. We will most certainly come back.

Property was very well maintained, however we did not know the Spa was no longer around. All hotel advertising does not list this fact so were disappointed to learn this upon checking in. The room we stayed in was incredibly warm, we had the heat turned off and the windows open for the entire 3 nights we were there and the weather was cold outside. The layout of one of the bathrooms had the toilet inches from the shower so not very comfortable when using the facility with the toilet paper dispenser a couple feet away.

Nice surprise in Canmore

Very spacious and clean.

Suite was spacious and well equipped. It was quiet and close to everything we needed. Gas fireplace did not work - that was disappointing.

We stayed here this past weekend. The front desk was accommodating and meant well. We had some issues with our room. The door code didn’t work when we arrived. We had a leaking shower that was not relayed to us when we checked in. So we used it and the unit below us took on water. The maintenance guy lost his mind on us and once we explained what happened he relaxed. We told him we would not use the shower again. I told that to the front desk also. After that was taken care of we went for supper and when we came back someone had gone into our room and marked the shower out of order. We were not made aware that someone was gong into our room. This is a big issue for me and It did affect our opinion of our stay. Overall the hotel was fine and the room was spacious. The hotel is difficult to get around and having 2 front desks each operating a portion of the building was odd. But definitely not a deal breaker. All in all not sure if I would stay here again.

My wife and I had a great 5 night stay there. The property served as a great base when visiting Banff & Jasper parks. As a bodybuilder, having a kitchen made it easy to cook meals each nigh to pack enough food for the next day's adventures. Staff at check-in/check-out were very friendly and helpful. They even loaned us bear spray for the hikes. Plenty of underground parking in the garage with an elevator that lead right up to the room. I would definitely recommend this property for the price, quality and location.

Good and convenience for us… I will return next month

This property in Canmore was an excellent choice for the traveller who would like to avoid the crowded and touristy Banff area but still be close enough to enjoy the sights and trails. Having a condo was very convenient and comfortable. We had a lot of room to spread out and the full kitchen made having simple meals easy. While the condo was comfortable and had all the basics I would call it an average condo more than a luxury one. It was perfect for our needs and had a reasonable price. We liked the underground parking with elevator directly to our floor. There was a washer/dryer in the unit which was helpful for our longer driving vacation. My husband used the gym to work out. The area has a lot of options for dining, shopping, and easy access to Hwy 1 which takes you directly to Banff, Lake Louise, and to the Icefields Parkway. It's also an easy drive from the Calgary Airport. We would stay here again. Only negative was a very small shower. You also had a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom if that makes up for it. :-)

Great location and very clean

Really enjoyed our stay at Sunset Resort and Spa. Was great to stay in a fully fitted apartment that was serviced like a hotel room. Very convenient base for exploring the area around Banff without paying Banff prices. Can’t fault a thing!

The kids loved the pool with the water slide. The beds in our room were very creaky and noisy due to the wooden bed frames, but overall it was a great place to stay and we would stay here again.

Excellent location in Canmore, walkable to hiking trails, restaurants and shops, and easy access to highway and public transit. Check in was easy with friendly staff. The suite was clean and contained all necessary kitchen items. The only small negative was that the sheets on one of the beds had a couple holes and some old stains, but they were clean. It was not a big enough issue for us to bring to the attention of staff. We would definitely stay here again.

Sister property of grand rockies resort. Building itself is old which is similar to neighboring properties , but clean and spacious

This was a super nice property to stay at! The views were amazing and the room was beautiful and felt like home. The pool was amazing and like that the parking was underground with easy access. However..the room was extremely hot. Even with the air conditioner on, the master bedroom had no openable windows .or ceiling fan. Although it had a patio door, there was no screen to be able to leave it open. The bed was noisy with any type of movement. Overall a good stay and the staff was amazing and very kind

Great location, really friendly staff, comfortable 3 bedroom condo with good amenities. We had some issues with the lock on the front door and the staff tried to help us with this but we ended up having to tape one of the locks open as we kept getting locked in and out! I would recommend this accommodation, it was easy to walk into town yet very quiet :)

Room was spacious and clean with all amenities available for a longer stay.

Garbage piled up in the stairways. No window in bedroom. Front desk argued and denied our request for an extra pillow. Housekeeping staff were lovely and made the trip tolerable.

Property is very old, laundry was out of order, most of the electrical switches do not work, bathroom fans make noise as of helicopter, the central AC makes a lot of noise. Overall stay was terrible

The resort is in a good location - 12 minute walk to downtown. The pool / hot tub and water slide that are shared with the hotel next door is great as is the restaurant next door. The reception desk are friendly. The sofa bed was truly terrible. The room specifically states it sleeps 4, but the sofa bed was basically bare springs. Less than three inches thick and impossible to sleep on. The floor would have been more comfortable. We ended up with three of us in the bed and the fourth on the sofa in it’s non-pull out form. I know sofa beds are not known for comfort, but it was very very old and needs to be retired. In addition, the bedding provided for the pull out had several large rips in the sheets and the blanket was dirty. It made for a rough nights sleep.

My family had a wonderful time staying at the Sunset Resorts. The manager and staff were very friendly and supportive. I will stay here for my next trip to Canmore and will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends as well. Thank you.

I love this hotel! The room was so big and nice. The people,who are working are so nice. I would like to come back again.

We enjoyed our stay in the area, the room itself was nice looking. The Parlour Wellness and Spa which is attached to the resort and advertised as an amenity, took our deposit for services and no showed us. We've tried contacting the owner to no avail, and the Ink Shop which is affiliated with them was no help... When asking the staff working the desk they claim that the Parlour (spa) is a separate business from them and can't help us. We still haven't heard from either business. Not very impressed with having the deposit for our spa services stolen... Glad we have insurance for things like that... Resort has a nice fire pit that can be kept on until 10 or 11pm. If you have a room with a Jacuzzi tub, make sure you fill it early so you get some hot water! General pool, hot tub, waterslide was a pretty good time.

The view was spectacular. We enjoyed our time sitting on the porch. The accommodations were excellent. The kids enjoyed their time on the waterslide. We would like to come again.

Perfect for a family holiday

Great location, walkable to everything we needed. Kids enjoyed the pool, we didn't get to use the gaming room but when we visited, it was pretty clean. The rooms were clean and staff were friendly.

Our suite was very comfortable, well-furnished, clean and quiet. Nice mountain view from our windows. Nice water complex with kids' pool, waterslide and large hot tub, but it is shared with another resort and was quite crowded. Good location - could walk to several restaurants a couple of short blocks away, and a 10 minute walk to town centre. Canmore is a lot less crowded than Banff, and only 20 minute drive away. Would stay here again.

The beautiful view

I was not a fan of the room that we got with the hot tub. I would not use an in room hot tub at a hotel and really don't even remember choosing that room type. So, that was my bad. The rooms were giant though. Obviously used to be condos or apts that have been converted to a hotel.

Loved the stay

The room was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub in the room. Having washer/dryer in the room also helped with the little one. Location was about 15 min from BANFF but the hotels were cheaper in Canmore. The pool with the large slide was amazing.

Nice 1 bed suite. Some elements dated, some recent updates (furniture, appliances, counter tops). Very clean. Suite was not open concept as pictured, so somewhat dark, but overall a nice place to stay for a good price.
