Check in was smooth and the staff member (owner?) was very friendly and efficient. Room was very clean and had everything I needed. Visited during an extreme cold snap so did not look around the area too much but the inn is situated right next to the lake and I can imagine is beautiful in the warmer months. Great value for money. I would stay again.

The standard room we stayed in had two double beds and was quite comfortable and cozy.

The staff was very friendly, room was spotless and beds were very comfortable. Marigold's Indian Restaurant is located right beside the Inn and is a must try. Food was full of flavour, absolutely delicious!

This motel is right on the lake so we had a lovely view from our room. It was A quick walk to sunset park where we watched a bald Eagle in a huge pine tree and a glorious sunset over the water. Then back to eat dinner at the best Indian food restaurant I’ve eaten in for a long time it’s right beside the hotel. Try the mango curry and coconut Naan. You won’t be disappointed!!

Overall my experience was good. The staff was super friendly, kind, polite and helpful. The room was very clean. I was disappointed at the fact that I had booked the room as the first picture I saw on their website was a view of the water. When I got there, my view was the parking lot. In my opinion, and that is my own opinion, it is false advertisement. There might have been small print somewhere stating that not all rooms are facing the wayer, but I was a bit disappointed. I could have gotten a room somewhere else for cheaper wirh the same view of a parking lot.

We love the view of the lake and the private beach. People staying at the establishment are usually friendly and the staff is excellent and very quick to respond.

The reception by the manager was so warm and inviting. Room was very comfortable and beds were great. Dining options between Marigold and Churchill's are great.

We arrived early. We didn't expect our room to be ready. It wasn't but he did say he would have them ready first knowing we were already in town! When we arrived there was a man raking some dead seaweed and removing from the private beach! Water was clear and the whole area was Sandy and shallow in the little bay. When we checked in later we found the room was nicely laid out and super clean! I've stayed at some 5 star hotels and I'm pretty sure this was cleaner than most of those! Only complaint was the AC was a bit chilly but I didn't turn it down enough. We went for a swim. Water wasn't deeper than 5ft. So we could walk to a small island. Location, service and cleanliness were top notch! Would totally stay there again!

The Sunset Inn is situated on the shores of Lake Nippissing ……a very nice beach area and view. We stayed in a room that appeared newly renovated….very clean and owners very friendly. It is close to restaurants and shopping. We would definitely return.

Great place to stay….

I highly recommend this place , it’s very quiet and a very nice environment by the lake. You great thing about this place you do not have to hear loud hockey teams ans specially rude drunk parents that think they own the property! The price is very good, this is now my place to stay in Northbay, very glad I found this beautiful spot!

Place is great

Room was very clean and tidy and gave the feeling of home. High ceiling, wood interior, cozy sitting area with fireplace. Private beach and nice walking area with a lovely little park and long beach for walking. Even out of season, it was nice to walk along the beach. Indian restaurant next to check-in was very good and staff at hotel and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!

Always a Pleasure

It is always a pleasure to stay at the Sunset Inn and this time was no exception. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Comfortable, safe, and clean are all words I would use to describe this little gem. It is also close to everything, including restaurants, shopping, and, of course, Lake Nipissing. I look forward to returning the next time I visit North Bay!

A Quiet One Night Stay

The gentleman who checked us in was friendly and helpful when i asked about places to get breakfast the following day. We were just steps away from a beautiful lake. We were only staying one night and had arrived late in the afternoon so didn't have a chance to enjoy the scenery. The room was fine. Very clean. Bathroom fixtures were gleaming white.

Arrived earlier than the 3:00 PM check in time but our room had been cleaned and was ready so checked in without an issue. Room was very clean. Queen bed nice and comfortable. Small clean beach on the property and a long walkable dock. Dinning options a 2 minute walk. Would stay here again when in the area.

This is my fav place to stay in the summer when I visit North Bay!

Enjoyed being right on the lake. Took our canoe for a paddle. Then had dinner on patio at Indian restaurant Marigold right next door. All so convenient.

Second time here. Loved it so much the first time, it is now our North Bay go-to place while passing through. Will be back in a couple weeks on the tail end of our trip.

We booked this hotel as others were too expensive. We were surprised at the quality of the room and staff. They have everything you need plus more. Our room had everything one would need (fridge, microwave even a small little kitchen with sink and hot plate). Would definitely recommend and will stay there next time we’re in North Bay.

I was unaware it was not a pet friendly lodging when I booked..I was abruptly asked to leave when they saw that I had a small (10 pound) dog..they would not even allow me to finish my dinner unless I put my dog in my hot vehicle..no offer for any compensation or an extra charge for allowing my pet to stay..It was an absolutely horrible experience and the staff were unbelievably hostile..
