Great property and staff, very peaceful. Only wishes is that the pool would be open for longer.

Property was very comfortable - beautiful view of the ocean and in a relatively quiet area within the hotel zone. Limited restaurant options since it’s a smaller hotel but a lot of variety at the buffet style restaurant and drinks overall were great! Not as impressed with the spa facilities

The property was very clean. Resort was on the smaller side but nothing felt crowded or cramped. The service was excellent. Pool areas were great and the beach was fantastic. Overall excellent experience.

Great stay. A few items did fall short. Our room was not ready upon arrival (after 3pm) and we received 2 full beds vs the king we had reserved. The room was ready around 4:30

Very nice property staff were extremely friendly, and resort was very clean. The only downfall for me was it wqas hard to acquire a lounger around the pool area.

Smaller property which is nice if you dont like being around too many people. Food was great. Drinks were pretty good. Limited on top shelf liqour but had enough to satisfy me. Rooms are awesome especially the hot tub. Room service was a plus. The Thai restaurant was our favorite. Would be nice if they provided free transport to and from airport. Also to and from other resort that you get day passes to explore. Didn't like the fact we had to pay expensive taxi for that. Staff was always nice and friendly and helpful. Everything was extremely clean. Nice chill all inclusive resort. Only wish they had more bar options to hang out at night and a late night buffet. Overall expensive was nice.

Please be advised that transportation if not reserve through hotels.com. We'll be charged $52 per couple. Even though it states on the reservation booking that it is included, the hotel will not remove it once it is on your bill.

It’s a nice and quiet place to stay during Christmas holiday season.

Hotel with all the all-inclusive service. Food was excellent in the Aurora Mexican restaurant for breakfast,lunch and dinner. Other 3 restaurants were just mediocre though. VIP perks were misleadingly advertised - provided credit to spend at the property was ultimately limited to perfume only, not the clothing is boutique shop (too late to discover this difference between verbal and printed version of the sale pitch). Otherwise our stay was great.

Scammed The Sun Palace Cancun was hard to rate since the resort and staff were amazing until the last 15 minutes at checkout when we were scammed. The previous evening we used our Expedia VIP resort credit to purchase 2 shirts and 2 bottles of vanilla at the store. There are huge signs in the middle of the stores stating “Use Your Resort Credit” with no other stipulations (see photos). We told the store salesperson when we charged our purchases to our room that we were going to use our resort credit but were reassured that the resort credit would be applied to our bill at checkout. At checkout the hotel staff and store salesperson said the resort credit could only be used for hats, sunglasses, some bags and perfumes, all of which we have no need of. We then wanted a refund for the 2 shirts and were told by the store salesperson absolutely no refunds. The hotel staff could only offer apologies and a hotel manager could not be produced to resolve this issue therefore we left with a very sour taste in our mouths. The small print on the store receipts and promotional paperwork (which we were given after the issues) may determine that Sun Palace was within legal boundaries but 1) the salespersons were fully aware we intended to use resort credit 2) the store signage was misleading and 3) the no return policy was harsh. The morality of the “sharp practice” utilized by Sun Palace and the store is questionable and we feel obligated to give a heads up to future traveler

Average resort. Not a lot to do, only one nightlife bar. Two small pools which became shaded after 3pm. Had to make reservations at restaurants for dinner and 3 of 5 nights nothing available. 4 restaurants total. The spa was great and Monica was an amazing masseuse.

We had the honeymoon suite, and we turn the Jacuzzi on. Well because of the heat and not having a fan the entire room was wet because of the condensation. So recommendation: have a dehumidifier or install a ventilation system above the Jacuzzi. Other than that it was an amazing experience. Will definitely come back but will book a room with the Jacuzzi outside.

Okay resort, it's clean, and the rooms are nice. The salon wasn't great needs to be updated, horrible broken chairs, pedicure was not worth the price. Not much seating around the pools, if you are not early you won't get one. Food was good, not great but better than some similar priced resorts. Only one bar (other than pool) sports bar atmosphere. More party than relaxing.

I love this hotel and will definitely caome back.

Sun Palace, plus and minuses

Staff are are amazing. There are not enough lounges around the pool areas and preference is given to black and white wrist band guests. The beach is smaller than advertised this is due to the last August hurricane so a few rocks to be navigated. NOT EVERTHING IS INCLUDED there is no complimentary Riesling wine, lobster tails these are additional $'s certain steaks can cost between $55 and $110 US We had $250 US Resort Credits but were only valid fot the Spa, not happy

Loved the view/location (on the beach). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was well kept and had plenty of amenities. Would absolutely recommend for a couples vacation.

We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is fabulous and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. We loved our server Abel at the Italian restaurant! All the restaurants are delicious and we are foodies ❤️ it is such a relaxing hotel. The infinity pool looks over the ocean. We loved the sound of the waves from our room. We have already booked another visit for March!

We absolutely loved our stay at Sun Palace. The resort is immaculate, and the food is good. While there were a couple of things we didn't like, we found that we could always try something else, and by the second day, we knew how to order the food to our liking. The staff is unbelievable; they make you feel so welcome and take so much pride in their job, which translates to great service. We were invited to a welcome breakfast (member's club pitch) for a discount on our excursions, but we politely declined, and the staff never brought it up again. We were concerned that we were going to be bombarded by a timeshare pitch when we got there, but that was not the case. The drinks were great, and the pools were awesome. The beach had a lot of waves while we were there, so we went on an island excursion for a beach day. We would recommend this resort to all couples. Bring small bills to tip the staff; they really appreciate it.

Felt totally pampered and enjoyed the quality drinks and food.

This was our 2nd time staying at Sun. It was just as much fun as the last time. The restaurants are amazing! The pools are clean! And the rooms are beautiful. Only downfall is resort credits you get for booking are only good for certain things, and the price above all of those certain things is astronomical. $700 for a couples massage? No way! But we will continue to visit Sun because we love everything else about it.

The property was very nice and elegant when you walk in and they greeted me with a flower. Check in was easy and same with check out. The room was amazing so beautiful and view was amazing. The bar was great and the pools great. Everything was perfect and this was our first here and we were in love.

Needed better dining and the spa was God awful. They wanted 350 USD for a 80 minute massage .. in Mexico!!! That’s nuts

Beautiful, clean, relaxing, fun and romantic. We look forward to going to Sun Palace again. Beautiful location, incredible food, comfortable room, we loved this trip. Minor annoyance: they try to “sell” you on visiting and reviewing another property while you are there which was kind of annoying since they don’t take no for an answer easily, but it seems many of these places do that. Put that one complaint in a bubble, and book the trip!

Pros- The property was nice. The staff were nice, helpful and friendly. Thai Restaurant was my favourite. I enjoy the fun pool and activities at the pool. Cons- I didn’t like the staff constantly sale pitch for a Timeshare properly.

The beach is filled with large rocks making it unsafe to swim there. We had to walk 15 minutes every day to find a safe swimming area. The hotel and Expedia said nothing about that on Expedia’s website. The Staff is annoying as they try to push relentlessly buying products from them to generate extra revenue for the hotel. Shops at the hotel are super overpriced, example: a spray can of sunscreen sells for $35, something you would buy for less than $10 in the U.S. Overall, not a good experience.

First time staying in Cancun Hotel Zone. We had “basic” room and thought it was excellent. Liked that everything was in one building. Pools overlooking beach were amazing. Beach was clean but couldn’t get in water b/c of boulders and waves. Food was excellent at every restaraunt.

The hotel, property and amenities were wonderful. The property and rooms are updated. The food was excellent. The alcohol was not strong at all for an all inclusive resort. Excellent experience:)

The property is beautiful!! Very relaxing as it is adults only. I would say book directly through the resort as expedia(third party) does not care about your accommodation. I paid extra for insurance and didn’t receive money back for losing a day of my stay :(

Very friendly staff and love that it is all inclusive. Two things that need improvement are: the food and the push to buy something more. The food was average and is the reason I wouldn’t return to the Sun Palace. Also, the frequency at which the staff would ask becoming a member or purchasing some kind of deal was too much.

If I could give Sun Palace more stars I would! It starts and ends with the staff. From the warm greeting on the day you check in through check out there was always a friendly face to answer questions and ensure your visit was perfect. The facility itself is very modern and every ocean view room is fantastic. Everything is clean and well kept. There's a phenomenal app for your phone that lets you do anything from restocking your refrigerator to making dinner reservations in any of the hotel restaurants. Speaking of which these restaurants are phenomenal! There are so many options with cuisines from around the world and there's pretty much an option to eat something no matter what time of day it may be. Our room was well stocked, the hot tub was perfect, balcony and view were outstanding. Being an all-inclusive adults only hotel meant there was a lot of alcohol available in and outside your room. The outdoor facilities are a step above and again I have to note that the staff is super attentive without being intrusive. You have a few smaller pools where things are quieter and then the main pool where a lot of the fun and action occurs. There is easy access to the beach with its pristine water though maybe only for the best swimmers to enter. Make sure you get up early at least one morning and see the dawn and sunrise over the ocean from the beach or your balcony. There's a lot more I could say but all of it would be positive. This is a can't miss hotel and we'll be back.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I read so many I thought I should contribute. We are early 50s looking for an adults only AI that isn’t a young 20 something party vibe but still fun. I have been to Cancun and Cozumel as well as Playa del Carmen all AIs. I have to say this is the nicest, cleanest, most updated resort I have been to. The food was excellent at all of the restaurants especially the Italian (Gabby was an excellent server) Thai, and Fuego although a bit warm because it’s all outside. The buffets were decent and my bf likes spicy and never added hot sauce to anything. The pools were busy but we always found chairs even if we went down after 11. The staff was always attentive. My only complaint was that the beach was very narrow and not swimmable. I have stayed at the top of the seven previously and am use to calmer waters. There was no high pressure pitches at any point although it was offered. The only reason I wouldn’t return is that I like to be in the ocean more.

This was our 2nd time at Sun Palace and it was just as great as the first! The resort is beautiful, but it’s the staff who make this resort wonderful. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The food is great. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away as a couple to relax…this is the place. It’s not a party place, yet lots of fun!

Over all very good. Minor issues like jacuzzi tub cold water didnt have enough pressure to go into the tub and leaked all over the floor. We booked 1 hour of jet ski thru Concierge and ended up being only half hour but they comped us for it at the end. The tour of la blanc was awesome and we didnt feel too pressured to buy their membership. Definitely worth the credits they gave you. We used ours on massages, very good!

Overall we had a nice stay. It’s a small hotel with a small pool area. It was an older quiet crowd. The food was fairly decent. The breakfast buffet could have been better. Very clean and staff is very attentive. Be careful if they offer you credits for their presentation. Upon check out they tried to state we still owed for things we used our credits for and still ended up paying for some of it.

Every part of this resort was fantastic. It is a bit smaller than most others which was exactly what we were looking for. The restaurants were excellent and the spa was the best part. The only downside was the beach had lots of rocks which made it impossible to get in the water. Overall this was a favorite and we would go back again.

The are too sales pushy to have you become a member and even if there is bad weather and you already signed up for a tour, they will still charge you and not refund you…. Two sells pitchy shady I will never ever set foot on Sun palaces property again.

Everyone was super sweet and helpful. The food was great, my favorite being the Thai resturants. Although the food was great, the proportions are a little small, but they were happy to bring us more food. Overall amazing experience

My husband and I really enjoyed the resort, everyone was so kind and always asking if there was anything they can do for us. There never seemed to be enough seating around the pool, that kind of stunk. We went for my birthday and 2 days in a row they came to our room with a bottle of champagne and a dessert that said happy birthday. It was very thoughtful of them. Most of the food was very good for an all inclusive. The only thing was there was a lot of pressure at times to go on a presentation for a vacation club/time share. Which I’m sure might be nice but we weren’t there for that many days so we didn’t want to spend one of them doing that. We also swam with the dolphins recommended by the concierge and it was amazing! They are truly loved there.

My husband and I visited for the 2nd time. The location is perfect, the staff is extremely welcoming, the restaurants were phenomal. Thai and Fuego were our favorites. Room service food was also better than expected. We were never left without a drink in hand, although the consistency from bar to bar was noticeable. We typically order the same cocktails, they were rarely made the same way. The pool volleyball and poolside guacomole were the stars of our trip. Our days were entertaining. Inclusive of games and day time singing performances. At night, we enjoyed hookah at the bar, the fire show, and listening to the waves from our balcony. Honestly if you are looking for a relaxing vacation with amazing views and great food......do not pass on Sun Palace. Planning our dirty third..........visit!!!!

Everything was great, only issue i have is we were cut short for 1 day due to plane delays coming to cancun. I would like a refund for that day. I paid for the insurance and would like to be refunded for that night
