Making this reservation I was a little skeptical but figured I would try it out. I’m really glad I did, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms are a little dated as are the TVs but beds are so comfortable! We will definitely stay here again.

Great option! Good location near the Shopping Mall of McAllen and the studio room was excellent (big, spacious and clean). Very recommended for family travelers.

Clean room, comfortable beds, decent breakfast. Also, great locals and amazing restaurants.

The room was good but the AC wasn't working properly i had to go and buy a fan for it was hot in our room and the water pressure in the shower was very low.

Management was so rude I was threatened that I was going to be asked to leave because we were being to loud I tried to explain that it wasn’t us but we got the blame so I didn’t want to sleep in my car so I put my family to sleep but the complaining kept on I also heard the noise and called the front desk but was ignored it was the worst experience I’ve been through I didn’t get any rest because the manager told me if he got one more complaint we had to leave the premises I do not recommend this place to any family it is the worst feeling the person that threatened us didn’t even wan to give me his name

Easy checkin process, clean, rommy rooms. Lots of retail/dining options in the area, but very quiet right neart the hotel. Pretty area.

Overall disappointment

The plug by the sink didn't work. We thought the problem was with the hair dryer. But it was the plug. The television was not programmed. I had to call the front desk twice before the maintenance guy came. It took about 50 minutes to resolve the issue. The first day there I wanted ice and the machine was empty. (Not working properly?) We paid over a hundred dollars a night and I expected a better situation. Nice room. Comfortable bed. But disappointed in overall service. Why wasn't the television ready to go before hand?

Very comfortable and clean beds. The room AC was nice and cold. The pool area was clean. Front desk staff was very professional and kind. The hot items provided at breakfast were very good. The staff attending guests at breakfast were also very nice. The only complaint I have is that housekeeping forgot to empty the trash in our kitchen area before I checked in. So The trash can was full and never got emptied out by cleaning staff despite me placing it in the hallway and notifying the front desk. I would stay here again. Overall it was pleasant and there are a lot of places to eat and things to do around the hotel.

I felt catfished, the hotel experience was not like the pictures, room smelled like wet dog and urine, found long black hairs on comforter and shower, couch and carpet was very stained and dirty,power turned off in the middle of the night, breakfast was not offered due to power not being on, I paid a good amount for the hotel and felt like I got a motel 6 experience, it was very cheap for being a three star hotel. Room felt very unclean

Ok, but outdated

The hotel is fine, it is just old. Breakfast is eh! it’s clean, but because it’s old, you can see some spots here and there. It is basically, just convenient

I was very upset with the way they handled my reservation. I had chosen to pay when I arrived thru the expedia option. I had to fly in due family tragedy - it was an 11 hour flight. Once I got to the hotel at 3:30 pm - I was told that since they could not charge my credit card at the time they tried, my room for 2 nights had been canceled. I expained - I used the pay at hotel option that was on expedia - and they stated they were sorry - however, they always precharge credit cards and they already booked my room. AGAIN, I arrived at check in at 3:30pm. They would not tell me 'when' they booked the room - when the earliest I could check in was 3:00pm. So I am 'assuming" they booked my room in half an hour because the earliest I could check in was 3:00pm. They offered me no other accommodations or discounts for this - it was just awful.

I did not get to stay in this property- they moved me to the rather inferior hotel up the road

Loved that the rooms had a kitchen unit. Also the breakfast in the morning was a great way to start your day.

Best hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time

The hotel was fantastic. All the doors except the front entrance require a keycard (like a lot of other hotels), only these actually work. It has everything we could have asked from a small pantry area where one can purchase everyday necessities to a small gym and laundry. The staff was very friendly and seemed eager to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Great breakfast as well, with the traditional American choices of eggs, bacon, sausage, etc., etc., to even having menudo on Sundays. Check in and check out were both unbelievably easy having booked through hotels.com. We will definitely stay here again when We’re in the Rio Grande Valley

Overall was good until I sat on sofa I realized the sofa was full of dog hair. Don’t get me wrong I love dogs I have 2 but I make sure to clean after them. Makes me think that housekeeping doesn’t clean the rooms as they should. Carpets and sofas should be vacuumed after every customer checks out. First time I’ve experienced this at this hotel. It’s usually my hotel if preference.

Homely place!!

We’ve stayed at many places in the area even more luxurious, but Staybridge was just what we been looking for as far as luxury and homely at the same time. I loved the complimentary breakfast which was outstanding and the ladies in the kitchen repeatedly came out to check on us asking if we needed anything else. We will stay there again when we go to visit family.

It was a quick one night stay ... but it was a relax sleep .. excellent breakfast service and the most friendly staff ever!

Nice hotel, friendly staff, security guard for parking lot at night ( In the Valley you need it), Breakfast was decent and social hour is a great thing I wish more hotels would do. You get more than you pay for at Staybridge Suites McAllen and I will definitely be back

Hotel is very close to the airport and the Plaza mall shopping area. Although McAllen and the Rio Grande in general has a small-town feel, the mall is one of the best malls you can go to in the country. The hotel itself is very comfortable, great breakfast and staff.

Extra charges....

We will never stay at a staybridge ever again. Room was not cleaned until after check in. My husband locked out of room and charged a ‘cleaning fee’. TO GO BACK TO A ROOM THAT HAD THE SAME SHEETS ON THE BED THAT NEEDED TO BE “DEEP CLEANED”. No stains, no signs a child *might* have wet the bed. When confronted about the charge, they could not produce photos and bedding had no stains or odor. The beds weren’t even made. House keeping does not want to clean. Mold in the bathroom. Horrible experience. Only decent thing was breakfast.

Weekend Getaways

Always a great stay at this Staybridge. Rooms and bed are always very comfortable. The location is close to just about anywhere. Breakfast is one of the best for a continental breakfast. The WI-FI is great. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

I had never stayed in Staybridge hotel before. I really like the big rooms and the kitchenet. .

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The social hour and breakfast were great. However, there is a strong smell in the hall. This is the second time I have stayed there and it was the same last time. I thought it was an isolated incident, but it actually seemed worse this time, even seeping into my room.

Out stay was very pleasant and even better with being driven to our social outing and picked up so we did not have to drink and drive. We appreciated the good service.

Great Location

Great location. Use to be a super nice hotel. Is nice, but getting a little run down. Need to update furniture, carpeting in rooms, and get new washers and dryers. Staff very friendly. Has a great breakfast spread and week night social hour. I would still recommend this hotel to travelers.
