Comfy bed and pillows. Arrived early and room was ready! Free breakfast as VIP access benefit…. Yummy bacon!
Best value with amazing service
Very comfortable hotel with all that you need. Amazing service - warm and attentive staff.
Knob Hill treasure
Wonderful location, safe neighborhood and easy access to many parts of San Francisco. The hotel room very nice. Our favorite place to stay while in San Francisco
The staff was amazing. The location was terrific. The food was also delicious. The only couple things, I couldn’t believe there were no outlets on my side of the bed or even the wall. We were also told to call the front desk for our car to brought up but the first day they didn’t do it. They did correct it the second time we needed it. Also, if your hair requires a good conditioner, bring your own! The hotel products weren’t top of the line. Other than these minor things we would definitely stay there again.
The room and the views were simply amazing. The card-less room key was a huge plus !
Stanford Coirt stay March 2025
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Parking made easy.
Fantastic!
A wonderful hotel, friendly, helpful staff and a great location!
Great property and friendly staff.
It had a wonderful open lobby. Everyone was welcoming.
The hotel was beautiful- spacious room, lovely restaurant and lobby area, and very conveniently located in a safe, walkable area.
Charged me more than 100 dollars a month after my stay and refused to give me a reason or my money back
Everyone was nice, great staff and the area was great for sightseeing.
We loved our stay here. The food at the restaurant for breakfast and the food and drinks at dinner was great. Tony was our bartender for multiple nights and was a pleasure to chat with. We were upgraded for our stay and it was an amazing treat. We will certainly be back. The location is right on Nobb Hill and a trek of you are not prepared to be walking back uphill to the hotel. That said transportation is very accessible. We loved the close proximity to amazing restaurants and shopping. All staff were amazing and made our stay so much better.
Nice , clean , excellent view
Need better breakfast . Overall very good
Very nice place and good size room.. I just wish they had different breakfast every morning . We stayed for few days and same exact breakfast.. I guess I’m more used to luxury breakfast.. but overall very good and very nice Staff.. I will stay again .. thank you
Wonderful hotel, safe, friendly staff, accommodating grea overall experience!
Very nice
Excellent
Very friendly staff, easy to get uber
Clean, spacious room, great view, helpful staff
Good
It was a very pleasant experience from the valet parking attendant to front desk staff, to the dining staff. We had an absolutely wonderful experience and would happily stay again.
Great location in San Francisco. Close to cable cars and safe neighborhood. Big bonus is the e-bike rental included in the stay. Will stay again if returning to San Francisco
I don't have time. To write an artist so if you want me to submit it this will be my narrative
$1200 a night for a small room with nothing amazing to remember. Reminded me of a room at the Hampton Inn.
We stayed there for 2 nights on New Year’s Eve. It was a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and large. The service at check in and check out was great. The gym has a variety of machines including peloton bikes and was well stocked. My only concern was that for a hotel that was probably fully booked that weekend - only one of the three elevators was operational which made it a nightmare to go up and down during peak hours especially if you were coming in with luggage.
Great place to stay! Very accessible to everything especially public transpo.
I’m so sick of hotels adding resort fee. I asked what I got for it and was told free local calls ! Only one elevator was working and maintenance guy said hotel wouldn’t pay for someone to look at it during holidays The carpet in corridors had gross stains Was supposed to get a free drink and reception had no idea what I was talking about
I’ve stayed several times for work trips, but this visit was with family. The hotel is always clean, with easy check-in/check out and valet. We had a good lunch at the lobby restaurant and enjoyed views of the city/Bay Bridge. Nob Hill neighborhood is great too.
Do not like the fact that there’s only 1 elevator works out of 3, during our 9 days of stay there.
Excellent hotel in wonderful location, safe and secure, and nice to walk, even at night. Easy access, for SF, with car. Our room was upgraded, 719, and was large with nice view of the cathedral. Excellent breakfast was complimentary both days we stayed. Beds were comfortable. One hiccup, only one elevator was working for the entire hotel because no repair service was available over the holidays. As we were not in a hurry, not a huge inconvenience, but there was wait at certain times.
Great location, wonderful staff. Rooms were perfect. Elevators need to all be running.
Average at best
The size of the room and location were great but there’s much left to be desired for this hotel. I’m not sure why this hotel was highly ranked among users because it was average at best. Cons: - bathroom was outdated and had mold - only one of 3 elevators worked during our 3 days stay, resulting in long wait times to go up and down - corner room had an issue where the wind could be heard loudly at night and woke us up at all hours of the night - coat rack was in the bathroom for some odd reason -amenities fee per night for use of bikes (however it rained during our duration and we couldn’t use them), gym (outdated), and bottled water - very spotty WiFi
Nice property, good staff, nice loaction.
Great value if you want to stay on Nob Hill. Close to shopping on Union Square.
Nice Hotel. Very friendly staff. Only complaint was that they don’t offer rooms service.
Holiday in SF
Excellent accomadations. Included complimentary breakfast due to qualifying as a VIP customer. The wait was not too long to check in/out. Love the fact that they had room ready before check in time and check out is at noon. Beautiful holiday decor as well!
Great location!
Great value - Nice Breakfast Buffet- Room/Bed were all very comfortable
The rooms are old and dingy. I found dust bunnies on the headboard. The service was not great. Would never stay here again.
Location and lobby were nice but rooms were tiny and not near as nice as the lobby.
The hotel is clean, quiet and centrally located! Fun bar and excellent coffee & breakfast.
Black belts in hospitality
Jeffery is a top professional management. Shirley in F&B carlos Nay and Maria at front desk all seasoned professionals and make our stay wonderful. With more great people like these in hospitality the hospitality industry would be top shelf.
Always a great place to stay
Great location and nice hotel
Awesome!
We had a terrific room facing the Financial district. Excellent view and slept well!
A comfortable stay for a 1-night layover. The hotel is certainly an older property but is well kept. Our room was spacious, with nice views, a quality bed and nice shower. We were disappointed there was no room service option. Excellent location in Nob Hill, close to California and Powell cable car lines respectively.
Overall it was great. What I didn’t like: no water or coffee in your room - you have to go to the lobby for it. The elevators took forever every time, and it was very noisy in my room. Outside of that, it was fa great location. If you want to walk and get food be prepared for a hike! Lots of hills!
3 Night stay: Great experience
Overall it was a great stay. The room was clean and we'll put together and the front desk concierge was extremely helpful and friendly. They definitely go above and beyond and accommodated all the requests we had. The gym was clean and had everything needed to get a great workout in, with a great view of the city to zone out while getting some cardio in. I was staying for 3 nights and used the gym each morning and it was a great setup. The only concern I had were no complimentary items for guests for breakfast as you had to pay for everything. And in true San Francisco fashion, it was overpriced for the quality of what you received. So we instead went out for breakfast but it wasn't s deal breaker. It was nice having the option though. I would stay again for sure. Mainly for the great location and awesome staff!
Enjoyed my stay
We encountered rude staff and did not feel welcomed at this hotel. I don’t think we will be staying here again.
Lots of hidden fees so much more expensive then expected—- resort fee and incredibly expense parking. Rooms are a bit worn out— entire facility could use a major upgrade
Always a great stay! Staff and valet are the best.
Great hotel. I feel very comfortable here.
Staff was great!
Friendly well managed property
this place creeped me out. I don’t have a real reason as to why but it did. Didnt sleep well.
We loved our stay at Stanford Court. The staff were fantastic, the rooms very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable ! The hotel bar was one of the best we’ve been to. The choices in drinks and food were vast and great quality. The area is also great, you are not in the busy noisy touristy area (Fishermans Wharf) but that’s still very much in walking distance. We had to visit the Tenderloin district which is roughly 3 blocks south of the hotel. I wouldn’t advise tourists visiting, but will highlight all areas surrounding the hotel felt very safe, so much so we walked everywhere and didn’t take public transport. Would highly recommend and if/when we visit again, we will be staying here.
Lovely Hotel
Lovely weekend visit to San Francisco. The Hotel was clean and well cared for. We enjoyed the complimentary cocktails in the longe area before venturing out on the cable cars. Ideal location for cable car travels. We would stay here again.
Great area if you like food, don’t mind walking, or use public transit. Right next to Chinatown, 30 minute walk to both Fisherman’s Wharf or the panhandle for Golden Gate Park. Everything was clean and staff was friendly. The breakfast is definitely not worth $36 but it’s decent. You should walk to Chinatown and grab some breakfast to go for $2-5 and it’ll be much better.
We stayed at the Stanford Court years ago when it was still a Marriott property. However, the prices were always too steep to return and we have enjoyed staying in smaller boutique hotels. But, we arrived last weekend to check into our boutique hotel to discover it did not have a/c as advertised and the room was incredibly hot. At 10:00 at night we were having to find an alternative and thankfully there were rooms available here. Maybe we lucked out, but the rate was not too much higher than the boutique hotel. Perhaps because we checked in so late, we did not receive any of our VIP amenities. But, we were thankful to grab a room close by. Beware of the steep hill with luggage! Our only mishap was that there was a stain on our sheets - could not tell if it was blood or wine. So, we needed new bedding really late at night. The person who showed up did not bring the right sheets. About 30 minutes later she returned and told us she was not housekeeping and it was not her job to make the bed, so we did it ourselves. The hotel offers free water and a refill station, which is a nice plus. If the rates are right, we still stay here on our next trip!
I stayed here on a weekend getaway with my 17 year old son. The location was perfect and the view from our room was beyond expectations with the intersection of California and Powell just outsite our window. The staff were all excellent as well.
Always a great spot! Very nice very clean and location is perfect
The Stanford Court Hotel was the perfect base to explore the sights of San Fransisco. The location is central and felt very safe and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and has stylish decor. We loved the iconic city views outside of our window. Stanford Court is a great affordable hotel in one of the nicer neighbourhoods and we will definitely stay here again if we visit San Francisco.
Fun in SF
Pleasant time in San Francisco. Property very conveneient and close to great areas for diving and shopping and walking/exploring. Easy access and fitness center was great. Only negative is that the elevators are slow...
The hotel was very nice and in a great neighborhood! Would stay again!
It was very nice and exquisite. Very friendly staff and accommodating.
Perfect room. Checked us in early even! As there was an available room. So glad to be here valet parking was so convenient!
Consistent and convenient. Great bed. Perfect location close to Chinatown North Beach and BART.
Very good stay
Historic property on Nob Hill. Close to Chinatown. Would stay there again.
Excellent location, central to just about everything! At the intersection of two cable car lines, Chinatown is next door, and North Beach is within walking distance. Next door to the Fairmont and Intercontinental Mark Hopkins without having to pay their prices.
Excellent location and hotel
Great location for a Masonic show.
Great place!
Staff not super friendly
Easy checkin, great views, best hotel of our trip which was spent driving over a thousand miles around California and staying at multiple hotels.
To be fair, the area was experiencing record breaking heat, so my experience might be out of the norm. Could not cool my room down. It wasn’t oppressively hot but had to sleep with no covers. Very low water pressure in the shower and water temperature fluctuated during showers; kind of like when someone flushes the toilet. Very quiet room. I only heard people in the hallway once and never heard my neighbors. Bed is super comfy.
Would stay here again.
Very nice hotel with excellent staff
I stayed in the suite and even called ahead to see if it could be ready early which they assured me was highly likely because they want to take care of the suites first. Instead I drove 4 hours and arrived at check in time to the room still not ready and had to wait almost 30 mins past check in time in the lobby with kids .
Great view if you can get a room facing a street.
When I checked in for 3 nights I was initially given a VERY small “premium King Room.” I’ve stayed at Stanford Court 5 times , whenever I come to SF and this was by far the smallest room ever, so I asked for an upgrade and was given one without issue at same rate. Thank you!
It was safe and convenient…
The property was close to public transportation. VIP TREATMENT NOT GOOD
Friendly staff that take care of the guests. But probably some of the worst elevators I have seen in a hotel. They barely work, long wait times and sometimes they completely skip your floor. Also, the property advertises a bay view but you can barely see the bay from any of the windows. Honestly the hotel staff are the highlight since they are very caring and nice. And the location is great, crime free and across from a great wedding venue.
We have stayed at Stanford Court before. We miss the excellent restaurant it had, but are happy there is evening food service again. The food was quite good but the restaurant space was very noisy, and when we were there, very badly understaffed. The breakfast buffet was adequate. Valet parking has.become astronomically expensive.
Outstanding Service and Location
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in the past year and I would stay here again in a heart beat. The location is fantastic. You can literally step out of the hotel and onto a cable car. It’s also walking distance to Union Square, Chinatown. The staff has been incredibly accommodating (I’m looking at you Ray) with my requests and have gone above and beyond in my opinion to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I travel a lot and can say with confidence that the service at the Stanford Court is rare. I look forward to my next stay at the Stanford Court Hotel
Loved the unique building! Great price!
I stayed here before and after a trip to Yosemite and had a great stay both times. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, staff was friendly, and had a good vibe. I ate breakfast twice and dinner once at the hotel restaurant, and it was good. It is very convenient to access the cable cars. Definitely recommend and would stay here again.
Great place to stay.
Great location. Great service. Beautiful facility. Great breakfast. Amazing gym. My favorite hotel in San Francisco.
A vastly overrated, tired property.
A decent choice for location and price
I would highly recommend this hotel for the location, price and friendly staff. The lobby was nice and bar area was good, rooms a little bit outdated but spacious, the bed was comfortable and clean. It is pretty noisy (we were on the third floor facing the road/cable cars) but we are quite happy to put earplugs in. A great perk was that they had coffee and tea in the morning which you could help yourself to in a travel mug. Anyone who visits San Francisco I would recommend this hotel, overall a really good stay
Nice, tidy and proper.
Service was great, room was clean. Good location. Bed was comfortable and overall would recommend. Cons: Rooms could use a bit more sound proofing and only 2/3 elevators were operational during our stay.
I liked hotel and location
Lovely hotel central to everything we wanted to do.

2025 Stanford Court Review
This was a great stay. I have no complaints other than the at times, scary elevator rides. The amount of rocking experienced during certain trips on certain lifts should not be considered normal. Lastly, I was not a fan of the marble or marble-looking bathroom decor. At times, it made me think there were stains on the decor when in fact, it is the natural design. To say the least, my shower time per day was greatly decreased. Outside of this, the service and overall stay was fantastic! The location is central to most excursions we participated in. The night experience is awesome! You truly get to see the city and the bay, light up. At least from the room we had.
