A nice hotel in a good location. Good service but a too narrow bathroon, parking is far and there are some stairs in the hotel entrance and dining room. Not for handicapped.

The hotel has excellent breakfasts.

Loved the central location. The staff was super helpful, especially the lovely lady with the red heart shaped glasses. This was our favorite stay. We will be back !

Great stay in Salzburg

Great stay and location. The room was clean and perfect for the two of us. The location was excellent with easy access to parking and the old town. The breakfast was also very good. Thanks for a great stay.

Highly Recommend Hotel Stadtkrug for your stay in Salzburg!! Our stay (2 nights) at Hotel Stadtkrug was a delight. From check-in through check-out, the hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Smiling faces greeted you as you come and go. Breakfast was excellent with exceptional staff support…loved the eggs made to order and as much coffee as you needed!! The room was comfortable enabling a great night’s sleep and a bathroom to match that was clean and easy to use. Housekeeping kept our room clean and tidy which was welcomed. Easy to access from any drop off point coming from the train station or airport. Plenty of shopping and restaurants less than 5 minutes away. Wonderful walk to Fortress Hohensalzburg where you have amazing views along the way. You will be in the middle of everything!! Definitely will stay here again next time in Salzburg!!

Great time in Salzburg

We had an amazing stay at the Stadtkrug. The staff was very helpful, confirming our stay via email previous to our arrival. The check in and check out process was very efficient. We had two king rooms with easy access from the elevator. The rooms were serviced everyday while we ate breakfast. Breakfast was a selection of breads, meats and cheese as well as cereal and yogurt. Eggs were available, made to order. Our only issue was the number of steps entering the building, reception area and the restaurant. People with mobility issues must take care in accessing these areas. The location of the hotel to the old town and Christmas markets was excellent. It was very easy to navigate.

Okay where to start, be prepared to park your car and walk 10 min walk from a parkade with your suitcases. The hotel is okay, the floors and walls are thin so you can hear all the others luggage rolling all night. Food in Austria sucks.

Wonderful location, easy to walk to the sites of Salzburg. Friendly and super helpful staff. Would stay again! We truly enjoyed.

Great location, lots of character building. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Included breakfast was very good with cooked to order delicious eggs!! On property restaurant food was very good too. Shower was small and water was leaking on the floor when using it no matter how hard we tried to close the door tightly. Not defective, just not a fancy shower. We had a comfort double room- good size.

Good restuarant

This hotel is located close to everything. The moment you walk out the door you are in the middle of Old Town. Very quaint and quiet area and we were only awakened by the sounds of chirping birds and the bells ringing from the many churches. Loved the hotel. It’s very old, but comfortable and “warm and fuzzy”. The staff were friendly and helpful. Make sure you do the Sound of Music and Salt Mine tours. Tickets can be purchased at the hotel and the pick-up and drop-off area is walking distance from the Stadtkrug.

Perfection

This is exactly what I think of when I think of a boutique experience in Salzburg. Everyone was friendly, the space was gorgeous and unique. I highly recommend

Great hotel in central location.

This is a small hotel in city center. Walkable to sites in city. Short walk to spot for buses for day trips. Rooms are small. Breakfast is good. Front staff are very helpful. I recommend this hotel

This hotel is in a great location just a short walk from the old town. It is on a nice pedestrian street with shops restaurants. The staff is exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was a nice European style buffet with the normal meats, cheeses, breads and made to order eggs. The building is old and has nice character but is well maintained. There is an elevator in the reception but you still have to go up and down a few steps. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn’t mind a few steps and doesn’t need to park next to the building.

Excellent pick in Salzburg

Great staff, and clean, comfortable room. The Stadtkrug is right in the heart of things so it’s easy to get out and about on foot. Hotel is built partially into the mountain with some of the stone in the reception lobby.

Restaurant is wonderful. Staff are excellent. Unique place to stay. Rooms are great.

Quirky hotel having grown organically, incorporating the rocky topography of the area. The two waiters seem to be on duty for breakfast as well as for dinner. Change of rooms (because of rain dripping noise) - no problem. Details of decor shows great imagination.

Location is very good - check-in was horrible, because of lack of information, even after we spoke with the receptionist. We spent altogether more than 2 hours to get situated at the hotel, having driven all around and then parked and walked to the hotel, where the receptionist gave us only partial information resulting in our driving around for another half hour!!! The room and bathroom are reasonably comfortable- very limited choices at the breakfast buffet, in addition to poor service at the buffet on first morning there.

Amazing staff, the rooms were nice and the area is great

I recently stayed at this 4-star hotel, which is centrally located but a bit on the expensive side, and had a somewhat mixed experience. The service was excellent; the staff were friendly, attentive, and really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. However, there were several issues that took away from the overall experience. First, we were disappointed to find out that the room we selected did not have air conditioning. This made the room quite uncomfortable, especially during warmer parts of the day, and we weren’t advised of this at all beforehand, which was frustrating. Additionally, while the hotel’s central location is convenient for exploring the area, the fact that it’s on a pedestrian street means parking is separate and requires a bit of a walk. While this wasn’t a huge issue, it was an inconvenience, especially if you’re carrying luggage or in bad weather. Another disappointment, was the breakfast. For a hotel of this caliber, the breakfast was far from good with very limited options. For the price we paid, we expected much better. Overall, while the service was fantastic and the location was convenient, the lack of AC, inconvenient parking, and disappointing breakfast made the stay feel less than what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. I’d consider staying here again, but only if these issues were addressed.

Well located historic hotel, staff were very helpful

What a fantastic hotel! Excellent service from the staff, great breakfast and clean rooms. Also an amazing location. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our one night stay in Salzburg. And now we can say we stayed in a 700 year old building!

Great stay!

Stayed for one night on a solo trip before a work conference and loved it. The location is fantastic for the old town and all the sights, and getting there from the airport was super easy as well. There was a fan in the room to keep cool at night, breakfast was really nice and the staff were great. Super clean room and a complimentary Mozartkugeln on the bed on arrival! Would really recommend!

Gem in the old city Walking Zone

Lovely little hotel in a delightful location with comfortable rooms including table and chairs, mini bar, safe for laptops, and old-world charm. The breakfast was very good presenting everything you would expect of a nice hotel. The staff were friendly, efficient and professional. The whole five days I spent were exemplary.

The staff was amazing and helpful. We were late for an excursion due to heavy delays coming from Prague and the women at the front desk called for us. Elevator was broken while we were there but fixed luckily before we had to check out. Rooms a bit dated. Shower tiny even for European standards. Great location for walking around Salzburg and getting to popular spots.

We were in the apartment and it was plenty of room for three (two adults and a teen). The staff was so friendly and the location couldn’t be better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Stadtkrug. The location is excellent and very close to all sites of interest. The breakfast was excellent and the service equally excellent. It was quiet and very comfortable. The staff were very responsive to any situation that may come up. Overall, I would recommend it highly.

The people at the check in desk were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and the restaurant and bar on site was very convenient. Would def stay again.

Met every expectation

Charming, very old building just across the river from the Alstadt. Updated bathrooms and high quality beds and bedding. Lovely breakfast, comfortable restaurant and very fun little bar. Very friendly and helpful staff made our stay most enjoyable.

Stadtkrug was a wonderful hotel. The room was great, the beds comfortable, the staff so nice and attentive and the hotel was wonderfully situated. We ate at the restaurant in the lobby of the hotel one evening and the food was excellent. The one note I would make is that visitors need to be able to climb stairs to get into the lobby and we had to go down some stairs on our floor to get into our room. If stairs are a problem for a given guest then this, sadly, might not be the best choice for him/her. I look forward to staying at Stadtkrug again.

Beautiful property in charming area of Salzburg

Family run hotel with very helpful staff. Lovely breakfast.

Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, rooms were clean and comfortable and location was fantastic.

The street noise was awful. We could it sleep very well . The bar was in the first level and stayed open really late. The sheet were very worn and itchy.

Great place but bring your own pillow

It was a great stay. Loved the room and the included breakfast. Only slight improvement to be made is better pillows!

Wonderful and historic family run hotel. Owners checked us in and were very accommodating. Great location. Literally across the street from the old town. I was worried about OFF SITE parking but it was EASY and is only a short walk to hotel. The hotel has great breakfast and a wonderful restaurant too. Would rate 11 on a 10 if I could.

Nice little hotel in the heart of Salzburg.

The little hotel is perfectly located to explore Salzburg. It is an old building converted to a hotel, that is why you have to go up and down to go between “adjacent” room. The hotel personnel is very pleasant.

Phenomenal STAY!!!

This place is AMAZING! going from the location, to the rooms, to the food, to the comfort, the kindness and client service. Would not stay anywhere else in Salzburg other than here, honestly I don't have enough space here to fill with words, I will be recommending this place to all my friends without a doubt.

We had always wanted to stay in Salzburg, Austria, and this is where we stayed -- in the hotel district! Walking across the bridge to Getreidegasse was only a block away, and everything else was in the area. Would stay at Stadtkrug again.

This beautifully appointed historic building is in the old town of Salzburg. Even on a hot day, it was walkably close to sights and shaded cafes. Included breakfast was plentiful. Bathroom facilities were modern. Air conditioning was surely a plus.

The property was awesome and the decor was outstanding! Loved the restaurant and bar area. Our room was spacious and very easily accessible for my mother who has some mobility issues. There are a few stairs but also an elevator. Rooms were air conditioned and stayed cool. Kitchen was well equipped. Positioned very well and so easy to access shopping and dining.

This location of this hotel was great. Right on a pedestrian walkway with plenty of eating options. This is a family run hotel and the folks running it couldn't be nicer. It is a 7 minute walk to the edge of Old Town and a 7 minute walk to Mirabell Plaza. It is a great location. The only challenging part about this property is the getting to it. We had a car and our GPS kept trying to get us there but because of the pedestrian area we had to call the hotel and get a code to lower the steel round blockades on the road. Once we got the code we were able to drive and access the hotel. Parking is a garage a 10 minute walk away. I would definitely still stay there again, because of its charm, the location the staff. But for future guests, I hope knowing to call the hotel for the code will help. The lady at the front desk at the time we were trying to get there was so nice, she came out looking for us!

Lovely comfortable hotel in center of town

The hotel is right in city center. I stayed on the 4th floor and had an incredible view of the hill up to the monastery and city. The room was comfortable, well sized, had USB plugs at the night stand, AC, and a good sized bathroom with toothbrush and such items. Came with Mozartkugel on the beds and a postcard to send home. The restaurant on ground floor is very good. It’s classic looks and homey comfort on a good street with easy walking access to bus stops, Mirabel Palace and Old Town across the bridge. Only downside is the number of random staircases that would make it hard to access by a person using mobility aides. Staff speak English and German and probably other languages.

Room 304 has a shocking lack of privacy. Slatted blinds or some other installation is necessary. The breakfast staff and breakfast offering is strong. Our experience at the desk was mixed; check-in and check-out excellent. The woman who handled our room change was sub-par.

Don't ever choose single room

This was a lovely hotel in a great spot. It's on a main shopping street and just minutes from the Aldstadt area. Staff was super nice and breakfast was AMAZING.

The location could not be better, the accommodations were great (the shower was wonderful but a little small), and the staff were lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was perfect! We booked a 2 bedroom/2 bath apt with full kitchen. It was super clean and neat with all the comforts of home. You walk out the front door and all of Salzburg is at your feet! The restaurant was top-notch also.

This is a fabulous place to stay in Salzburg. We rented the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom family apartment on the second floor and it was spacious, beautiful, full of charm and had everything you could possibly need. It is a few minutes walking distance to old town and the Xmas markets and everything else in Salzburg. It is located on the pedestrian walkway but if you take a taxi which we did from the train station they have access to the street and can drop you off right in front. The people at the hotel were wonderful. The area has many restaurants and bars and we liked Die Weisse for authentic Austrian food and The Salzburg Whiskey Museum with owner Peter for drinks. We had a fabulous time at the Augustiner Bräu Beer Garden. The is also a Spar Food Market across the street. This hotel is wonderful and you should book it.

This hotel is in a perfect location. Close to everything. Breakfast was fantastic. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to our friends and family.
