Couples Stopover
Very nice location next to golf course. Didn’t eat at restaurant other than coffee & granola bar in the morning. About 15-20 minutes east of Kamloops, drove into Kamloops for supper & breakfast (heading North in morning so made sense). Room 11 had some type of noise start up before midnight, enough that the couple had to change rooms. We were next door in room 13 & didn’t hear anything of substance. Never did find out what it was. Staff was accommodating & helpful in the room change & a discount on room was provided.
Great hotel very well managed and cute location on the river! Nice onsite restaurant! The bed was very comfortable and nicely renovated room with new cozy carpet. Highly recommend!
Room was comfortable; loved the balcony and the bucolic setting in a quiet rural area surrounded by natural beauty
Communication with staff was appreciated. We had late check in staff called to let us know what to do as they would be completed their shift by the time we arrived.
Lovely rooms and a peaceful setting
Fantastic stay
Waaayyy better than anticipated. Professional, clean, welcoming, comfortable and the room didn’t feel like a hotel. We will be staying here every time in Kamloops!
Will Stay Again
Rohan called to ask our arrival time & to see if we needed the restaurant to stay open later for our arrival. Very accommodating. Nice area beside golf course & country style (long driveway from road to hotel along ranch type fence). Didn’t hear any road noise, just frogs outside (but room was quiet).
Was in town for work, perfect place to relax for the night before getting back to work the next day. Clean, quiet, friendly staff. The only downside was the very limited breakfast which was explained to us so not a surprise and only temporary. Will stay again next time I’m working in that area.
This is a beautiful property but can’t wait to go back in the summer when everything is open No dining options in the off season.
Off season isolation. No food service. Had to drive 15 minutes to a restaurant. Otherwise it was very good
Very tidy and well kept.
My review is mixed for our stay at the property. We were locked out of our room after the front desk staff had left for the evening. The emergency number did not work. We ended up having to drive back to town to find another hotel for the night with our luggage still locked in our room. The morning staff member was amazing though and because of how we were treated by her, we would consider another stay. The grounds and our room were beautiful, it was unfortunate we couldn’t get into our room. Front staff were amazing and we will give another stay in the future a try.
This is beyond the best place to stay in the Kamloops area. Always stay here when I travel thru.
We loved the out of the way stay. Very friendly, nice reception. A bit old, perhaps a little too expensive. But the pool and hot tub were great and the bedroom was comfortable. We did miss a blue bin for empties. And it was a shame there was no food service available.
Nice place for an overnight break
We stayed here overnight in Kamloops on our drive from Banff to Vancouver. Pleasantly surprised that the hotel is on a ranch. Our room faces the river and very tranquil. Hotel has a nice restaurant for dinner. It is about 20 minutes drive to Kamloops downtown for more dining options, . We ate at Brownstone downtown and was very happy.
It was very average hotel. The carpets were stained. And we had to ask for a fridge that we were told we had to pay for and then on check out the desk staff said there was no charge. So it was not a place I would ever recommend or return to. Sorry
Very nice staff! We liked the food at the hotel restaurant. Wish there was a small bar fridge in the rooms and some breakfast options on site but it wasn't a big deal. All and all would very much recommend staying here.
Nice place with beautiful view of river.
The stay was okay. It was away from everything. For dinner we had to go 20 minutes back to town. The staff was super accommodating but I wish I knew before booking that the entry was not very friendly for handicap as there was no 1st floor entry. The beds also were a bit harder than I am used to. Industrial-ish mattresses
This is a family run business and they show old-fashioned kindness to families and animals.
We had such a lovely stay. The horses and goats were a highlight for the kids.
A peaceful hotel just east of Kamloops
Located about 20 Km east of Kamloops, but easy access to city centre. We enjoyed the river and mountain views, and quiet. Food and service in on site restaurant was good.
Would visit again.
It was okay. I was honestly expecting more. The pool was small. The restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast and closes at 9pm. The staff were not always at the front desk. You share the deck with everyone else. The rooms and properly otherwise were okay. The view was lovely.
A very beautiful place to stay. The grounds surrounding the Inn are so uniquely large and secluded. River front with lots of greenery. The staff were top notch in every way! Free to use pedal bikes to tour around, and next door to the golf course.
Have been here several times and excellent service.
Our room was gorgeous and clean. Great view. Check-in & out was super easy. All staff were super friendly. Hotel lounge/restaurant was good. Perfect stop on a long journey. Easy to get to and ample parking.
Would come again
Dated but clean. Great air conditioning. Friendly staff. Ample breakfast to go. Pet friendly. No elevator in this 2 story building
Beautiful location
An out of the way, quiet and romantic boutique hotel! Worth the trip for a lovely getaway
Nice to watch the river go by
Very clean. The rooms are outdated, but the cleanliness is impeccable. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open early and doesn’t stay open late.
They have a 24 hour pool and hot tub. Great grounds, quiet location, great staff, clean rooms and comfy beds! Would come back again!
We had a room overlooking the Thompson River and the balcony gave us great view of the sunsetting over Kamloops. Golf course and horse paddocks around us. We found it to be very quiet. The staff was friendly and the hotel had quaint ol' cruiser pedal bikes to ride around the property. Its an older, out of the way, hotel that has been updated...but the biggest problem for us was that the restaurant on site is only open in the evening for a few hours and the nearest other restaurant is a 10 min drive away. So even though the rooms have keurig coffee machines, there was no place to get cream for the coffee. And there was no fridge in the room either. :( We had hoped to have a leisurely morning but hangriness set in and we packed up and left earlier than planned. Since we paid a higher price for our room, I had hoped for better ammenities....
quiet location, room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. Enjoyed walking the property and seeing the farm animals. Staff was attentive and caring. The propery was not near town but we enjoyed the quiet and getting away from the town.
It’s beautiful and quiet with a nice little restaurant where you can sit outside overlooking the river. Staff are really nice. Just has a really good feeling. Clean and very comfortable.
Was a perfect place to stay outside of Kamloops and near wineries. Had dinner and the trout was delish! Staff were friendly and helpful!
The Inn is in a park-like setting with beautiful, well-maintained grounds. It's a ways out of town with no nearby amenities, so we drove about 20 minutes to the nearest facilities to eat. There was no microwave nor refrigerator in the room although one could be obtained for a nightly cost of $10/unit. The toilet was toddler height and no riser was available, so beware if you have knee or hip issues. It's a very nice place to stay if you want to ride bikes (provided free of charge) or take a walk. The temperature control was good & there was a lovely little outdoor sitting area.
Great place to stay midway between Vancouver & Banff - used it in both directions - heading east and returning west.
Excellent choice for accommodations in the Kamloops area. On the scenic South Thompson river, very pleasant hotel.
Quiet
Great position, super property just needs a bit of updating.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. It was a beautiful property. The hot tub was not working but was being fixed. The restaurant was really good. Best wings and cheesecake. Would have been nice if they did breakfast. Staff was really good. Will be back.
Quiet peaceful setting. Rooms are in good condition. Would stay again.
Beautiful!
Old style hotel, very quiet area. Nice and welcoming personal.
Great area for walking. Close to golf. Helpful staff.
Its very unique. Seem like it was built in the 50s in England. lots of farmland on one side, golfcourse, pool and hot top on the other along with a river front view.
Staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Room was beautiful had a lovely fireplace and jacuzzi tub.
It is a ranch and has that feel Very quiet and clean .
Very nice stay
Friendly staff and clean rooms
Beautiful view from are room . Very clean thank u
Very romantic cozy room, perfect for an anniversary night away.
Nice and different
No restaurant, and very few options without a 30 minute drive. Room was ok, bed a little lumpy. No fridge, unless you asked for one, and then a $10 upcharge. General upkeep poor-peeling paint, old carpet, etc. But a beatiful location and nice views.
Our stay was relaxing and peaceful. The pool was great next to the river on a super hot day.
The setting on the river in a rural area is beautiful! Very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed being able to walk next door to the golf course. The golf course restaurant has good food options also. Enjoyed the pool (although it could use more cleaning - lots of leaves/bugs floating). The exterior of the buildings could use some TLC - fresh paint, etc. The staff were all extremely friendly and I would definitely return.
Great stopover
We had two one night stays en route to and from Lake Louise. It fitted the bill perfectly. We had an evening meal on both occasions and the food was enjoyable and the service excellent. Our room was very restful and spacious.
Nice and cozy.
Very nice Hotel with big, clean Rooms. Nice staff. Good Pool Area, but the Pool is not clean. Breakfast too simple.
nice view, bed sheet is too old.
Property is excellent for staying with your pet. Large grounds. Recommend the Carr
Driving up to property is very beautiful and picturesque. One sees the surroundings and additional attractions right on premises (pedal bikes, country side beauty for a lovely stroll etc). Staff very accommodating. Due to staff shortages, we were offered a bag breakfast (yogurt, fruit cup, muffin and granola bar juice box). Rooms are nice and clean. Rooms match the “ranch” feel. Bedding and mattress clean & comfortable. A bit off main drive and city centre. Two, mature, couples booked in and both sets very pleased and happy with our choice and rooms. We do recommend this experience.
Great hotel and is in a beautiful setting. Very peaceful and wonderful staff
Friendly staff. Great mountain view and golf course.
We loved our stay at the South Thompson Inn. the staff were friendly, the room clean and comfortable. The restaurant was not so good, the food was overcooked and bland which was such a shame for a hotel that was great in every other way.
Has an old school nostalgia
Hotel restaurant serve not fresh food. Food and restaurant are so bad.
Overall a quiet comfortable hotel but no food service brings the overall rating down
Great spot on the river.
Quiet
Good!
Horrible place, needs a reno, dinning room and lounge not open. Front desk lady on Friday May 5th and May 7th very rude!!!!!! Could'nt even get a coffee in the morning, was told needed to fill out breakfast form and pay $13.99 per person. Rented the romantic room stepped outside on the patio to look at the guy in the next room sitting there staring over half dressed!!!!!
The setting was beautiful, surrounded by a golf course and mountains in the background. It is only 20 minutes out of town, away from noise, traffic and lights.
The view outside in our room is superb.
The integrity of the heritage feel, including the library was wonderful. Staff was great! Very welcoming and accommodating. But for the nightly rate, i would expect more comfortable beds. Too hard. Also, there was no fridge or microwave, with no dining facility in Inn. A microwave could have been provided for an additional $10. But at a room rate of $162, that was unacceptable.
The staff was super helpful. We had a flat tire and they not only made us an appointment to get our tire repaired, but they pumped up for flat tire. They were very kind to our dogs.
Restaurant closed, lack of personal
Beautiful room with a comfortable bed. It’s a bit of a drive outside of town but worth it.
The staff is AMAZING! This is my second stay. It is clean and safe. They are very pet friendly. It is an older building but well kept up. My only issue is parking and accessibility access I travel with my elderly mother and it is somewhat difficult. Overall it is wonderful we will stay here again.
For the price, value was way off, disappointed. Needs updating, more amenities and better service for the price I was charged.
I liked the uniqueness of the property and the newer renovations - I would like to know more of the history. It would be nice if the restaurant was open.
Nice and quiet place to stay
Wonderful and helpful staff. Their restaurant was not open due to off season, but they packed breakfast for guests in the morning.
Staff at the hotel went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. Great hotel had a wonderful time. Thank you to all the staff
Location and view along river very nice. Disappointed with the obvious wear and tear that hss not been kept up to date and just a basic hotel room at a high price for what you get
Lovely view, this was more our mistake booking here. Very old fashioned. Hot tub and restaurant closed and a 23 minute drive to Kamloops. Bed was super comfortable and Keith in room was nice to have. Bagged breakfast. Cool reception on check in but very friendly on check out. Hotel pup was friendly and sweet. If you are looking for old fashioned, quiet and outside of town, this is a great fit for you. Even had a real key to the room! In season, you’ll having dining as well.
Unfortunately the dining/bar was not in operation, but everything else was great. Thankfully dining option within walking distance at golf course was very good.
Attractive location for the Golfing Fraternity
The adjacent golf course makes it ideal for golfers. Although an attractive setting, with no operational bar, or dining room and being remote it is not accommodation that offers itself well to non-golfers. Lots of rules, or that was how it was put across, which wasn't very welcoming.
All good
Beautiful location. Pet friendly. Clean and comfortable. Only aspect which could use improvement was the restaurant, but they appeared to be short staffed. The only 2 staff members seemed very inexperienced but gave their best efforts. Overall, it was a good experience and we would definitely stay here again.
The property is very quiet in a lovely country setting. When approaching along the long driveway, it is reminiscent of a scene out of the old TV series “Dallas”. Due to staff shortages, the restaurant wasn’t open but we went to the golf club for dinner which was a 3 min. walk. We were given a nice packed breakfast the next morning. Would highly recommend this lovely hotel!
Excellent staff. For sure we will be back .Perfect place for our wedding anniversary. Exceed our expectation
Bathroom smelled like dirty dish rags, the rest of the room seemed clean. Rooms do not come with a fridge but asked if one could be provided and the had one for an additional $10 a night. We were told the restaurant was closed, they did provide a bagged breakfast option to go. The hot tub was not open which was disappointing. The pool was nice as it was hot when we stayed. The place is quite far out of town fyi. The place could be quite cute if some upgrades were done.
My stay was pleasant and the room was nice. They closed their restaurant due to staffing issues and, although there is one at the golf club next door, it was a bit of a negative as the hotel is quite far from other dining options. Overall, though, I had a nice stay.
We liked the vintage look of the room that was very clean! Disappointed that the restaurant was closed and that the grounds were overgrown with large weeds right in the main entrance gardens.
.
Great staff
There was no restaurant or a place to eat on site, had to drive to Kamloops (15 k) for food.
Property is a bit dated and run down. Balconies are not private. So sitting out to enjoy the river view and sunset was awkward with the next rooms people right beside us.
Stayed here many times, but the lack of restaurant makes it much less desirable now, due to the distance from town. Staff were less welcoming and helpful than previous trips, as well.

Village style hotel. Quite, friendly staff
