I would recommend getting the Sea View room. Without the view, the room is severely lacking. The bed was worn out, with a dip on the sleeping side (the side that wasn't agaist the wall). The shower was incredibly small and awkward, as it had no shelving for soap or shampoos, and the curtain doesn't keep the water off the bathroom floor. The towels are not very absorbant, possibly due to liquid softener, but they were are soft! I didn't like that the towels were black. Couldn't tell if they were really clean or not. There was loud party music from the bar downstairs and there is no longer on-site parking as Expedia advertises. However, we had no issue finding parking right across the street. The £60 is a little weird, but ok. Leave extra time at checkout because they have to go to your room and look at it before they'll give you the £60 deposit back. All in all, it served its purpose for the one night I was there. The staff were nice and helpful. An electric kettle and tea were provided in the room, so the best part for me was making tea in the morning and sitting in bed watching the waves crash on the quiet beach.

Stayed here before and had large sea view room . This time was a small sea view room that wasn’t as spacious . Asked for room to be replenished , didn’t receive anything . No parking at this hotel although it says it has . Reasonable stay no housekeeping. Centrally located for everything.

Nice overall hotel, clean, quite and spacious. Downside was people sitting in the gardens of the hotel who are not staying their and doing drugs and drinking

Decent hotel based on our room with Seaview . Nice and clean and recently refurbed. Should have put more sockets in during refurb as you have to put the kettle on the floor to boil. This property takes a £60 pound bond for incident charges on checkin which I already knew on the booking . Don’t know how that would go if you have a genuine accidental spill or something in the room. Overall good and would stay again.

Decent for what you pay small rooms and dated though and took about 45 mins to check out arrived on matchday no parking available at hotel had to pay £20 to park about a mile away everywhere was full Location is great though views are excellent

Very nice hotel

Nice hotel on Blackpool seafront. It is a basic hotel but very clean and has what you need, in line with Premier Inn, Travelodge etc. Plus, the woman on reception was really lovely! (However, do note that although hotels.com claims it has free parking, it does not have a car park. There is parking nearby though but not free.)

Lovely hotel staff great would definitely stay again only thing having to pay £180 deposit for the 3 rooms I booked

The lady at the front desk was absolutely lovely. She did everything she could to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. She even gave me and my friends plasters when we had blisters. Great service and no hesitation to help out. Room was lovely and clean. Really safe hotel and the locks on the door actually work. We had a mint weekend with the young farmers and had a safe, clean and friendly place to stay.

Terrible place don’t waste your money

I think if to disgrace the accompanied demand 60 pounds cash of you before you even check in and then when you try and email the company they never bother answering their emails when you try phoning them they don’t bother answering their phones. It’s an absolute joke as a disabled traveler, they don’t have a lift Fair enough no problem that’s great it’s not the end of the world if you’re blind and have a service dog forget it they’re not interested all they’re interested in is trying to get more money out of you and they shouldn’t be charging service dogs . The only good thing about it. Hotels.com gave me a full refund.

Brilliant

Hotel was brilliant. Attended as a family. Room was amazing. 2 double beds and a single in one room. And a double in the other. Huge shower, extremely clean and fantasic staffing on the 24hr reception

Friendly staff on reception, though I was a bit surprised when asked for £60.00 deposit in cash for any damages. This was returned upon room inspection when I checked out with no issues. I was in a double room, no breakfast included which had a kettle with tea and coffee provided, which is always nice, but a chair to sit and enjoy a cuppa would have been nice, though admittedly hard to squeeze into the room. The ensuite bathroom was immaculately clean and modern which made a nice surprise as this is obviously an old building with squeaky floorboards throughout, so making some noise when moving around the room and throughout the building was unavoidable. As far as accommodation in Blackpool goes, this was fine and I would be happy to stay here again.

Family room

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 5 and had the family ensuite room, we had a sea view in the main room. The room was immaculate and the decorating is very pleasing to the eye. You could tell a lot of effort had been put in to the room and we had plenty of brewing condiments. I only have 2 things that could of made the stay better, 1 being the seperate room didnt have a door on, so although we had some privacy as our room had a door, it took ages for my children to drop off and they kept running out of their room. 2, the window in my room whistled all through the night whilst being shut and the handle was so old and eroded I didn't dare touch it incase it fell, this really is a health and safety issue but as my children didn't stay in this room it didn't matter at this time. The lady who ran the place was very friendly and polite and we had no other issues apart from the 2 above, we would stay here again and although being on the promenade it was quiet. Would definitely recommend for a family stay

Wish I could leave a review of the actual hotel, but we never actually got to check in. We booked two rooms for one night as it was the last of the available rooms in the vicinity - when we realized that we would be delayed arriving for check in, later than 11pm, we began trying to call and email to make check in arrangements. This was at 8:00pm. We had several people helping us trying to get through to the hotel, but it would either ring forever, or tell us that the "cell phone" had been turned off and was not accepting calls. When I finally got someone just after 11pm, I said we had a (paid in advance) reservation and would be arriving late. The person on the phone just said "no, there are no rooms, full" . I said again, we booked and paid online. The person on the phone said "what is your booking number?" And as I looked it up, he hung up on me. I tried calling back several times (again) and no answer, so we ended up driving overnight to our destination the next day. After reading these reviews we realized that this seems to be a common thread with the hotel, but losing nearly $600 was a life lesson unneeded during our time in the UK.

Ticked all Blackpool boxes..

So long as you're expecting Blackpool and not Mayfair, this hotel is perfect for a quick night or two. We stayed as a family of four. Lady on reception was lovely, the room was clean and location was perfect. We stayed with a 5 & 7 year old and both already asking to come back. Couldn't fault it for the basics, would definitely return when coming back to Blackpool.

Amazing Stay

Completely the opposite of what I expected for the price. We booked late for a quick few days to the sea with the child and we’re over the moon with the Hotel. Morden tiki bar out the front selling a massive range of beer and spirits which had an Ibiza beach front style feel about it. All the staff were polite and helpful and it even had its own burger van in the front bedside the outdoor bar. There was plenty to do clues to the hotel and pleasure beach was 5/6 Min walk to the left. The rooms were small but clean and the beds were comfortable. Smart tv Aldo which was good for chilling out after a day up/down the promenade. There was no food served in the premises. The lift was out of order which may not suit older guests but there was only 3 flights to the 3rd floor which wasn’t too bad. We will definitely be back in the near future. Thank you for a great stay.

Excellent hotel with a real buzzing atmosphere, felt like I was in Spain not Blackpool. Weather good, views onto the pier and a stone throw from all facilities. I will be coming back ❤️

Absolutely lovely clean room especially for the price would of paid double for it the staff was absolutely lovely lively enough through the day with great entertainment but don’t go on to late if you have kids turned of around 9am so doesn’t disturb you will be booking again in 2 week when take my 2 young children to pleasure beach which is close to it couldn’t of been better thanks

The room was clean and well maintained the staff were really friendly Only issue it says parking available It’s not, no fault of the hotel on street parking is available if you can get it but 10 hrs and no return for 24 that was the only disappointing bit

The place was ok but the parking was paid for and it was £10 whilst it was onsite. I paid late checkout to checkout at 12 ended up checking out an hour earlier due to the other guests making noise in the morning so we didn’t sleep anymore. But

Unfortunately.. it wasnt a pleasant stay as there was a fight between a couple next door, where police were called and it made my kids very scared...we couldnt sleep at all...very bad experience.

Hotel closed on arrival.

Its quite hard to review an hotel that was closed. I had been trying to contact the hotel for 2 days before my stay to ask about parking but no one would answer. Arriving at the hotel to see scaffolding and building work taking place and the doors locked. An a4 piece of paper with a phone number was taped to the window. After calling i was told the hotel is closed due to an electrical problem and it should be open around 2. The lady told me i should of received this info from hotels.com and offered to relocate me to the royal windsor. Fine stuff happens but the next day the hotel was still closed so i assume it had been closed for a while. The royal windsor was ok except we booked breakfast for the morning only to come down and be told no breakfast because they think the chef is ill.

Shocking. Arrived to find hotel was closed. Called the number on the door but no answer. Shocking. Luckily hotels.com sorted it for us and got us another hotel. Wasted close to 2 hours of our night trying to sort it.

HOTEL WAS CLOSED! I was never told and had to sleep in the car!

3 hours before we were due to check in we received a phone call to say our hotel wasn’t actually open due to building work. We were moved to another hotel, the royal Windsor. This hotel was ok apart from the noisy floorboards outside our room.

Due to an electrical fault we were not in the i sky hotel instead they accommodated us in there sister hotel the royal Windsor. Staff were lovely however the room was dated had rust and could hear next door talking clear as day also every time they run ther tap or used the water system ther was a loud noise all night. Didn’t have breakfast but this looked nice

Basic hotel, glad it was only an overnight stay as no shower in the bathroom. The bathroom itself was disgusting, the bath wasn’t clean, dampness on the ceiling which you could smell strongly, no towels provided. Woman on reception was friendly enough

Worst hotel in Blackpool

On arrival the owner apologised for the condition of the hotel as it had apparently just changed hands but this is not good enough. This hotel should not be open in this condition. There was no heating in the room which was freezing. The bedding was insufficient and we struggled to sleep due to the cold. The shared bathroom was actually a shared toilet cubicle which was barely usable. The window had no curtain, just a blind which let light in. The view was a brick wall. The lack of signage made it difficult to find out way around the maze to the room. If it weren't such a busy weekend we would've gone somewhere else. Charging a premium price for such a disgusting room is unacceptable. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Avoid like the plague.

We arrived at 1:30pm and didn’t get into our room til 3pm, the bedding was wet, there was stains all over the mattress, there was dirty wet towels in the wardrobe, there was no working flush in the toilet with urine in the loo, there was dirt all over the windows, and the sink had a dripping tap with damp all under the sink with dirt, we opened the window to air the room and there was full wheelie bins which gave the room an infestation of flies, Expedia have questioned us being refunded and there’s been no response of my last email sent two days ago. Awful to say the least

Disappointed when I turned up with my daughter. On their web sight it lists and shows a food room, games room and parking which I thought was great I had payed cheaper last year at another hotel payed less but I didn’t mind as this hotel advertised a games room etc but when we turned up there was no games room & no dining room as advertised on the web page. The fire alarm went off a few times, our door wasn’t secure we could lock in inside but anyone with a key could get in from the outside. Didn’t feel safe there. Last but not lest our toilet wasn’t working and no remote for our tv to turn it on as the tv had no buttons on it. I won’t be staying here next year. The only truth on their web page advertising their hotel is they did have parking BUT you had to pay, which again they did not say on their web page. Badly run business no hotel management skills and could do with updating the hotel interior and maybe do more with the place as it does have potential if it was updated, had a games room and a dining room serving food. Windows could do with cleaning to couldn’t see out not that we had much to see than another persons dirty window from the opposite room. Only stayed the night here it’s ok for the night I guess no longer. It has a few floors with a lift BUT the lift is out of order. My view I think I would have felt safer camping on the beach instead in a ⛺️ taken a barbecue at least I’d have felt safer had barbecue for breakfast and a better nights sleep👌

Great location and friendly staff

I was pretty satisfied with our stay at the Colonial Hotel, the location was perfect, on the promenade, close to the Pleasure Beach and a tram stop 2 minutes away. The staff were very friendly and let us leave our luggage there on our last day so we could visit a few more attractions. I would definitely reccommend this hotel to others who are looking for somewhere to stay at an affordable price and in a good location without frills. I would stay there again.
