Beautiful property and scenery. On the bank of Colorado River.
The luxury of desert views.
The location of the hotel is excellent. The luxury of Sorrel is that it gives you the experience of living on a ranch with animals. Its not South Beach or New York Luxury. Its the luxury of getting away from urbanity. The hotel could use some updates in the furniture and design. The staff were excellent, always accomodating and friendly.
Great location and good place to relax.
Surprised to see a lack of detail on cleanliness, especially at the outdoor seating area of the restaurant. Food was amazing but service was average.
gorgeous setting and views
New years stay
We went there for new years with the kids. As it as winter there was not much to do but the staff was beyond accomodating. The Ranch has a beautiful view of the river and all animals are well taken care of. It will definitely be better in summer.
Enjoyed my stay here and loved the property. Excellent service, my room service was ready right when I arrived. Delicious food and worth the amount of money spent. Lots of photography opportunities right on the property. Will be back!
Property was beautiful but the level of service on all levels was very bad for the money you were charging on a nightly basis. At $800/ night you would expect to be greeted immediately at our car, handled quickly at check in,explained in great detail all of the various activities , personally taken to our roooms....nope..,none of that happened. Then when we came for dinner,, you were out of two items on a very limited menu, the wait for dinner once ordered was over thirty minutes and nobody was in the dining room. Same for all meals...way too long a wait. 5 star location with 2star service. The staff that we interacted with were always very nice but clearly, a lot of new hires and training was non-existent. If the room rates were $400/ night we could have overlooked a lot of this nonsense...but not at the rates you were charging.
A dramatic and very disappointing drop-off!
We stayed there in 2015 and it has gone backwards dramatically. It’s as if no exterior or interior maintenance and upkeep has happened at all. The place was a mess. It’s as if the owners decided to strip all revenue out of the place and run it with absolute minimum staffing. (The staff that was there was generally hard working but they were way overworked.) We ate dinner three nights there and they had to Comp drinks and/or dessert each night. The level of deferred maintenance was very high. It is a shame as the setting is stunning.
Nice place and location. Rooms and cabins nice. A bit over priced for a luxury resort based on amenities and service. I felt as though for expense of the property the details of the atmosphere seemed Inconsistent and lacking detail.
Perfect 👌 location , staff, property, service, food, all perfect
Not worth the very high cost
Beautiful setting with a large, comfortable room right on the river. However, not worth the cost. 30 minutes from town so food options are very limited. There is another resort a few minutes away that has the same views and is more reasonable. When I got home I saw they charged me for an additional night by mistake.
So gorgeous! Everyone was so friendly. It was a crazy time and we are so sorry they had to close because of the coronavirus, but we will definitely look to go back. And the guided ATV ride into the canyons was awesome!
Nice property. Rooms are clean and overall space is picturesque. Since I was there during off-season, not a lot of amenities were available which I expected. However the food was not great, lack of flavor. And the service was not good either, lots of delays and time. I couldn’t figure out the temperature in my room. Overall I liked it here, it’s beautiful and upscale. But I didn’t think it wa
Liked everything about this place! Extraordinary location.
Sorrel River Ranch is hands down one of the best places I've stayed in my life. Amazing views everywhere you look and a great location if you want to go checkout National/State parks. There's a ton of amazing scenery all around the area but we could have stayed on property for our entire trip and been completely satisfied. The restaurant is fantastic and our horseback ride was a ton of fun. Highly recommended!
A Bit Overrated.
Great location with awesome surroundings, but accommodation and furnishings are not much more than basic and not as comfortable as expected, particularly for the price. The restaurant and other facilities are quite good
Best place in Moab!
Amazing staff!! So happy and helpful. Lovely setting - quiet, clean, serene!! Highly recommend. Luxury near Moab!
Wonderful service and relaxing resort
The service at Sorrel River Ranch Resort is impeccable. Everyone treated us like royalty and did what they could to make our vacation wonderful. The resort was perfect for relaxation - quiet and far enough from town that we could enjoy the solitude. We participated in a horseback trail ride which was fun (it was in the morning before weather got hot). Restaurant was quite good and dining outside on the deck overlooking the river in the evening was very pleasant. Plus, they had a Tesla charger for our electric Tesla vehicles.
Quiet Stay at Sorrel River Ranch
The Sorrel River Ranch Resort is situated along the Colorado River with views of beautiful red rock buttes. The resort is very quiet. The location is several miles outside of Moab. We were the only people at the pool on a Saturday. The staff customer service was excellent from check in to check out. Unexpectedly, we were delivered a try of treats to celebrate our anniversary. Food and service at the restaurant were great. Sitting on the deck of the restaurant for dinner we were able to watch the river, sunset, and a lovely heron. Our room needed some maintenance in the bathroom including a broken drain fixture and slow drain in the shower. The views were spectacular.
The property is lovely . The setting is beautiful .
We had an amazing stay celebrating friendships and birthdays. The staff made us feel extra special.
We had a wonderful experience at Sorrel River Ranch Resort. We stayed in a King suite that faced the river. We saw wildlife everyday. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The food at the restaurant was excellent as was the service. We sat outside and it was breathtaking. We were not aware we could utilize the spa sauna/steam rooms at our leisure, which would have been so nice after a long day of hiking! It's a very nice spa; However, don't be deceived by the literature which has a menu of different types of massages. I chose the Push, but was very disappointed. The attendant was very nice and accommodating, but she was not a good Massage Therapist. Worst massage ever.
Moab Summer Vacay
Sorrel River Ranch was fantastic. The customer service was fantastic. We highly recommend booking the UTV tour, such a fun experience!
Hidden Jewel
Spectacular ,,, definitely a hidden Jewel near Arches National Park.. spectacular views out back view was of the Colorado river. SERVICE AND STAFF WERE SPECTACULAR . the restaurant is very delicious as well.. If you love beautiful scenery and want to be in complete peace of mind. Then this place is for you.. Very pet friendly and your dogs will Love going crazy running free
Beautiful setting
The setting is so beautiful and the rooms are spacious and nicely done. The bed could be cushier. The restaurant is great the food was very good and the service was just as good. We will defiantly come back and recommend it to family and friends.
The ranch is a nice property but its over-priced
Completely overpriced. It would be fair for 35% less.
Every aspect of this incredible resort exceeded my expectations. Simply put, a phenomenal experience.
overpriced luxury à la cowboy
Good service, good food, great spa, but over-priced for what you get.
Honeymoon Stay
We came to Sorrel for our honeymoon and were not disappointed. Our stay started off with a bottle of champagne for our wedding by the hotel staff. The staff was wonderful and The only negative comment about Sorrel Ranch was the prices at the restaurant and some activities were a bit high even for s place of this caliber. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great start for us.
Ranch-like setting on the Colorado River
Loved the setting of this resort, on the banks of the Colorado River with views of surrounding rock monuments. Our room had a rustic ranch-like feel and was clean and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Our only disappointment was the service in the the upstairs dining room. We ate there two nights and found that the waiters were not as attentive nor as friendly as the other staff members we encountered. The pool was a nice plus.
Beautiful surrounds but service is not 5 star
This was our second time at Sorrel River. We love the location and natural beauty but the service and food at their restaurant is disappointing.
A great place to watch the water go by
sorrel River Ranch was an absolute beautiful spot. Sitting by the river in the evening watch it flew by was the highlight of the resort. The rooms were clean, a small kitchenette was great. And the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is also well appointed. So River Ranch was an absolute beautiful spot. A Truly Amazing Place”
This is an amazing place. Slightly off the beaten path, the place, scenery, facilities and staff will make this one of our return destinations. 1) The Place - this is truly a ranch with high end luxury. It caters to both families and couples and there is enough room for the two to easily mix. Located ON the Colorado River with Mesas (mountains rising up from the surrounding area like in so many western movies) on the opposite side of the ranch, gave all rooms great views. Horses in pastures, wild turkey/deer and the farm animals were a daily delight! 2) Scenery - beautiful scenery everywhere! Rich deep red rock canyons/mountains with the neighboring river were the theme of this area. No matter what direction you looked or corner you turned, you were simply amazed. This is not to mention the beauty of the National Parks (Arches & Canyon Lands) located near by. 3) Facilities - great large rooms and ranch style lodge with nice dining and nightly entertainment made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Coming in from a long days hike or a horseback ride to a nice room and a good restaurant was always welcomed. Great pool, hot tub by the River and wonderful fire pit (w/s'mores). Great activities center. 4) The staff - best part of the resort. The staff was great! The GM (Justin) made sure our needs were being met. Great restaurant staff (Brian, Thomas & Chef Chris), horseback guide Darby and Arches tour guide Singer (Awesome host and guide) and loveable dog Mattie
Luxury adventure/Westworld heaven
This is the third time we've stayed at SRR & it never disappoints. The ranch it's simply magical with views of the Colorado River. Jeff, the adventure guru, took great care of us arranging an amazing horse back ride tour through Castle Valley (aka Westworld) and great morning yoga sessions with Shannon. We highly recommend this ranch & can't wait to return in the summer!
beautiful ranch right on the Colorado river. Staff very helpful, food great, loved the fire pit and horesebackriding through the mesas. Ask for a river view room or your room view may be obstructed. All rooms have kitchens, big bathrooms and soaking tubs. A windy 25 minute dark ride from Moab so I recommend staying put in the evening.
beautiful place, but need to plan a couple of days and enjoy it - great restaurant for dinner . rooms big and comfortable a little disappointed by the tv size and location, in the leaving room and not in the bedroom
Service was 2 stars but location, room, facilities, dining were 4 stars.
Nice resort with a beautiful canon setting on the.
This is a very nice resort. We spent 4 nights in a family cabin with our 2 twenty something children. It was a beautiful setting. It is about a half hour drive into town or to Arches. We knew that when we set up our adventures, so no big deal. There is only one restaraunt at the resort so if you're staying for a few days you might want to make other dinner reservations in Moab. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. We were there at the end of the season. They seemed to have a one women staff at the spa, meaning Spa services other than massages were not available. That being said, she did a good job with all the massages we had booked. We would consider a return visit.
Beautiful location, not meeting luxury standards
The Sorrel River Ranch location is beautiful. The hotel within itself is nice, but not meeting luxury standards. No upscale amenities and personal touches that you would expect at a hotel of this price point. The staff seems untrained and all inexperienced. There is no turn down service, I was unable to control the temperature in our room below 68, there was dog hair on the rug in our kitchen area, not enough pillows, etc. Small things that you expect with a $500 + price tag. The restaurant is overpriced for the quality. The waitstaff is inexperienced - for example, they served my dinner while I was still eating my salad, etc. Not the service you expect along with a $55 entree.
Ranch resort 25 minutes from town
Awful. Long drive down a windy road, nuisance during the day, scary at night. 100 yard walk to park your car, restaurant was poor, service non existent, in spite of complaining, no one came to address the issues. They make you pay lump sum no refunds or cancellation for a reason. We would have left.
Moab's hidden Gem
Our equipment testing needs make Moab an ideal destination but Sorrel River Ranch with its rustic yet sophisticated setting complemented by outstanding service by the staff make Moab trips unforgettable ones.
Romantic getaway
My husband & I celebrated our anniversary at the Sorrel River Ranch. We had the most romantic weekend and the staff at the hotel did everything to make our anniversary very special. We look forward to returning early next year!
Gorgeous landscape
Beautiful, peaceful, perfect location for enjoying the landscape. Dining very, very expensive...no options for more casual fare, so families have to make sure to bring their own food.
Spectacular setting...if you don't mind the drive
Booked this hotel as it was the only vacancy during "Jeep Week". Room was great and setting was spectacular. It takes a good 20 - 30 minute drive to get from hotel to Moab - drive is scenic along the Colorado river. Rooms was nice and spacious and clean. Set in a red rock valley that could be in a Western movie! We enjoyed the petting zoo and nightly campfires with complimentary s'mores kits.
Nice but Overpriced
If you're going to SRR for a few days, and plan on using the amenities, maybe it's worth it. In terms of accommodations and staff, everyone was pleasant enough and the rooms are nice and spacious. My biggest gripe is that this place seems overpriced for what it is. The rooms are about $200 more expensive than they should be. I wouldn't stay here if you're hiking and looking for a nice, comfortable place to spend the night. The Red Cliffs Lodge is comparable and more reasonably priced.
Who is managing this resort, if we can call that a
Most terrible meal in the last 20 years ! Nothing else to add, as I already spent too much time to respond to this survey.
Beautiful hotel, perfect location
Perfectly situated along the Colorado River in Moab, this hotel feel like something out of the old west. Rustic luxury would be an apt description. We'll definitely stay here again.
Quiet ranch in beautiful location
I think the 4 out of 5 rating is accurate. The location is beautiful and the restaurant is excellent (probably the best in the area). I think housekeeping may need some improvement - when we checked in there was leftover food in the fridge, they didn't empty our garbage one day, and they didn't replace our towels on another day. But if you are looking for someplace beautiful and fancy to stay in Moab, this is the place.
Nice, but not near Moab.
Great place to relax and dine. It's about 30 minutes to Moab. Cabins are ok, but it's no Ritz or Four Seasons. My room windows were missing screens - couldn't open windows. The staff was great!
Sorrel River Ranch Resort | Home in Moab | Travala.com
We visited at the end of December, which is off season. We were the only guests. The staff took us on hikes and made dinner, lunch, and breakfast just for us. They were fully staffed as it is a working ranch. Rooms were excellent directly facing the river. The setting is magnificent with huge mountains and mesas surrounding the property. We loved it and the team there.
