We liked the location and loved the staff.
Excellent all over hotel
This hotel offers exactly what we were looking for: convenient safe and quiet location, close to main sites, beautiful hotel and room, complimentary coffee and water every day, comfortable beds and pillows, very nice staff.
Great hotel (not my first stay). 10 minute walk to spanish steps and shopping , great location.
This hotel has everything you need. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable
Size of Rooms
good hotel
Beautiful hotel, great location. Staff was courteous and helpful.
Very friendly staff and great facilities
Great location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Near the Spanish steps and high end boutiques.
This is a nice boutique hotel with 80 rooms. Nice staff. Our room was clean and comfortable but a bit small, so small that there was no room for a chair, just 2 small stools in addition to the bed of course. Shelf space was a bit limited too. The lobby is okay but the seating is kind of nondescript and a bit uncomfortable. Overall the facility is not worthy of 5 stars.
Very disappointed in Sofitel. We had a long italy trip and every hotel we stayed in was beyond amazing and they all had breakfast included and great service. Sofitel was extremely expensive for nothing. Breakfast isn’t included. We booked a luxury room with view and my view was a construction site that they refused to change for us even though we PAID for a view. Beyond disappointing.
It’s a lovely hotel. Very clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent. We like to walk but be forewarned the hotel is on a hill so be prepared for some exercise!
We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel. The staff were amazing and helpful. The hotel has lots of shops and dining options close by. The rooms are clean and bright. Would stay there again!!!
Lovely stay.
I chose the Sofitel for my stay in Rome because of its' reputation for upscale, luxury accommodations. This was a special trip to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. With almost no lobby, and limited seating that looks like it came from Ikea, the hotel is more about 'style' than substance. Decorated in marble tones and white, the decor aims for a contemporary, minimalist look that in reality translates to a lack of comfort and purpose. Our 'luxury' room had no chairs, no desk, and a bathroom counter that didn't have room for any personal items. Our Juliette balcony was a rip-off. It wasn't high enough to provide ANY view, and not wide enough to sit on. These balconies are limited to the hotel's third floor ONLY, so this provides an idea of what you can see. Other buildings and trash. To set up a his computer in our room, my husband was forced to sit on a foot stool and hunch over a small cocktail table. The hotel has some of the worst room design I've seen. It's obvious the designers didn't try to stay in the room. To add to the overall inconvenience of the hotel, it is situated at the top of a steep hill, so even using the metro, you end a long, hot day with a 15 minute steep, up hill trek. I regret my choice of this hotel and would not recommend it. The staff were friendly and nice, but not accommodating to personal needs. They have such a volume of tourism they don't need to provide anything more than a basic level of service. Another hotel choice, definitely!
Great service and friendly staff. Super comfy bed.
Very poor quality breakfast overpriced
Outstanding property in the upscale Borghese neighborhood of Rome that is a little quieter and off the beaten path for most tourists. Property itself is outstanding with spacious room, ultra modern bathroom, and high ceiling. A fantastic rooftop bar for meals or just a nightcap before going downstairs to end the evening is one of the other great things about this hotel. Convenient two block walk to a bus stop as well as several great restaurants within a two block radius. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Very much helped to make a very memorable experience in Rome.
Great Hotel
Great staff service and comfy bed with nice linens!
Sofitel at it´s best
All the staff were very courteous and attentive. The location was very good for reaching all the major attractions in Rome. We would have preferred to have access to a bar without the need to have a meal. Tourists should be vigilant with regard to pick pockets on the metro. My wife and I nearly became prey to this but fortunately my wife was alert to the danger. Overall, we were very pleased we chose this hotel.
Everyone was very nice and helpful.
Hotel is beautiful, it has amazing views of Rome from its roof top. Its close to the Spanish Steps, designer shops and restaurants.Great location, amazing food on premise, amazing hospitality and rooms were very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend, would absolutely stay again.
About a 5-7 minutes walk to the Spanish Steps. 10-15 Minute walk to Galleria Borghese (Beauitful!!! please book ahead!!), Trevi Fountain. Great Location! The restaurant upstairs overlooks the Villa Borghese with the very nice views of the city as backdrop. The service from porters, receptionists, concierge to wait staff at the restaurant all very very good! The only person that didn’t speak English was the room attendant but our rooms/beds were made up cleanly/efficiently everyday! We stayed 5 nights and ate breakfast at the restaurant every morning. Breakfast staff very very friendly. Arranged for last minute tours with the concierge and they got us transport quickly. Overall a very pleasant stay at a well maintained hotel. We splurged a little but worth it!
Rome
Great boutique hotel. Ideal for couples. Location by the Borghese Park is perfect, very silent and yet very close to everything. The restaurant is excellent. The only downside was the gym.
Everything
Enjoyed that it was situated not to far away from most of the main attractions, but was in a quiet area away from the city centre.
Located close to Spanish Steps area, quieter and pretty neighborhood. Can still walk to other major sites (about 20 min walk). Pretty and clean hotel with great breakfast. Highly recommend!
Wonderful Rome hotel!
Sofitel Roma was a wonderful hotel in a great area of Rome. It was an easy walk to many of the sites we wanted to see and the staff was exceptional. The room was spacious by European standards and the housekeeping was immaculate. My only complaint was about the bathroom. There was very little counter space for toiletries and the shower had a rain shower head right at the door which made it extremely easy to get water all over the floor.
Stylish hotel in a superb City.
Amazing!! Highly recommend. Great location. Incredible view from the rooftop whilst enjoying an excellent breakfast. Staff are incredibly helpful. Beds are super comfortable. Lovely toiletries, fab shower, and excellent amenities on the whole!
This is a charming hotel tucked away in Villa Borghese, with an excellent, friendly staff, great decor, wonderful rooftop dining area and good food. The rooms are small, but well appointed. We very much enjoyed our stay -- it was our favorite hotel in Italy.
Lovely hotel and rooftop restaurant with a wonderful view. Easy to walk to all the sites.
Perfect location.
Fantastic location. Very nicely renovated. Beautiful roof top with nice views. Generous room size and bathrooms. Very comfortable.
I have stayed in 5 star hotels around the world. The Sofitel Villa Borghese was superior in every aspect: hospitality, attention, care, elegance, and with a fantastic staff and gorgeous views of Rome. I am inspired to come stay here every 6 months!
Wonderful hotel and staff. Simply the best.
Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese was welcoming and the staff was stellar. Maite made me feel like family. We had breakfast and dinner daily at their spectacular Sétimo Restaurant overlooking Rome. A clean and safe hotel. We are already planning to go back.
Good location. Excellent service!
The experience was wonderful. The staff was great and friendly which made our stay very enjoyable. The rooms were great and the location was very convenient! Thank you very much.
It was enjoyable, friendly, comfortable.
Rome oasis
It was amazing with a courtesy and friendly staff. Delicious food provided. And a great location.
Rome favorite
Fantastic hotel! 2nd time staying here. Really really nice room and hotel!
The property was clean and comfortable. My only issue was things were stolen out of my luggage during my stay :(
Amazing view of Vatican City from the rooftop bar and restaurant. The staff are excellent friendly and very helpful. Beautiful rooms and centrally located on a quiet street. Highly recommend staying there.
This hotel has nicely remodeled rooms especially for the price. Staff was courteous and helpful at front desk and dining areas. Only downside is that breakfast offerings were a bit meager compared to most other hotels I stay at , for example no made to order omelette station or fresh waffles, etc. Breakfast had same choices daily but I think it’s a function of scale. Very solid choice for someone wanting an upscale property. It’s not the Peninsula Chicago or the Mandarin in Bangkok but you aren’t paying those prices.
Great location and beautiful rooftop restaurant.
Property and staff were great!
Boutique feel with great attention and “aim to please” attitude. Highly recommend this place. Definitely staying here on my next visit.
Well done - Sofitel ROME Team!
The front desk team members were terrific, especially Lisa and Luca...everyone of the team members at the Sofitel had been fantastic...from the front desk to the front door to the restaurant...Superb, will recommend to friends and biz colleagues. Well done and keep up the good work!
Much Good, Some Not
This hotel is in a fabulous location, steps from the Villa Borghese and the Spanish Steps. It is stylish, modern and clean. The rooms are on the small side and the service was hit and miss - either very good, or not good at all. Would I stay there again on a return to Rome? Probably not. I would look for another option in the same area.
Very nice location and generally nice property. But multiple issues that I did not really expect for a five star property. The design upgrade is nice but several areas where it’s form over function (only one tiny closet in a 500 sq ft suite?, bathroom doors that would not properly fold back and we kept bumping into etc etc). Also don’t expect a property of this caliber to have several days of systems issues or service staff who cannot scan and send a document promptly or room setvice that arrives 25 minutes after the scheduled time and only after 4?5? repeated calls etc.
Wonderful. Close to so many sight & restaurants.
Amazing!
Fabulous!!!! Highly recommend.
Fantastic!
Beautiful, clean, comfortable and perfect location.
Very nice hotel. Decor was nice and room was very comfortable. Location was great too.
The roof top restaurant was exceptional The wonderful staff at the front desk and in the restaurant The room was not equipped with essential items. No place to sit in either the bathroom nor the bedroom. No soap dish, not enough racks to hang hand towels, not enough face clothes, no floor rug and the glass door for the toilet area was a crazy idea!
Great hotel, would return.
Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms and rooftop restaurant with beautiful views.
The location was great. The rooftop restaurant was pretty and had a nice view of the gardens and Rome. Unfortunately the breakfast food was not great. The room itself was clean and nice, recently remodeled, but a bit small.
We had a great stay. The room was a little small but very comfortable. The bed was perfect giving us a great night sleep. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We will be going back!
A nice stay but not expected Sofitel standards
Housekeeping was not anywhere near sofitel expectation. Turn down was not done. Some staff had poor English. Reception was very helpful, room was nice but small. Would I go back? Possibly but for the price these basic things should be resolved.
Amazing hotel, amazing experience!
I absolutely love this elegant, beautiful, trendy hotel! The service here is impeccable. I cannot wait to return to this hotel again!
Excellent property great location exceptional staff
Style and Comfort
For the whole time of our trip we had a pleasant experience, and congratulations to the Management and staff. When returning to Rome, the Sofitel will be on our list of likely homes form home - Grazie!
Very modern, clean and well-equipped rooms with excellent service.
Great location The food served in the Kitchen is very disappointing for an hotel of this status
The hotel is very well managed and staffed with friendly people anxious to help. Perfectly clean, recently renovated rooms that are beautiful. Nice quiet location with a nice restaurant at the top of the hotel and several others nearby.
Great experience!
Great room and great location! The staff were all very friendly and helpful!
Great location! Rooftop restaurant was amazing! Rooms were gorgeous!
The hotel has recently undergone a refurbishment. We stayed at the hotel a number of times before the refurbishment and it was great, now it is even better!
Great location! New facilities and beautifully decorated.
Freshly remodeled. Modern facilities. Beautiful terrace.
This property was recently renovated. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff are so welcoming and helpful! Highly recommend. The outside hotel bar/restaurant is a must do! Great place!
Customer service was amazing. Great staff, great location, great new hotel
Great location, top rooms with latest technology and amenities, wonderful breakfast.
Great location, peaceful and centric
Lovely roof terrace with fantastic views across Rome. Well located for accessing all the attractions.
Great location.
Great location and enjoyed the small personal touch.
Good location but very bad services
Very bad services Very bad toilet Very bad staffs Never go back And no recommend
Loved it!
Lovely comfortable hotel in a great area.
We stayed at the Sofitel for one night on our way home from Italy. It was the perfect end to our vacation. The front desk was extremely helpful and personable upon check in. The hotel is comfortable and quiet. Our room was very comfortable and the location is outstanding. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant which was wonderful. Our only complaint is that we are not big fans of the "rain shower" overhead shower head in the bathroom - but that is a personal preference. We will definitely return again when we are in Rome.
Never checked in. My son was in intensive care and we cancelled the trip. Sofitel was notified two weeks in advance and refused to accept a cancellation even with a written medical excuse.
All of the rooms had moldy smell from carpets. Nearly unbearable. Changed rooms 3 times. Beds were very uncomfortable. Staff was as accommodating as possible.
My only complaint would be about the size of the room. For the amount of euros that we paid I would expect a larger room . I have stayed in 4-5 star hotels in Europe before so I am comparing. When we checked in they said that since we are staying for 6 days they want us to have a really nice room . We had a lovely view of an ancient structure . The room was very well appointed and comfortable despite the size . Very comfortable bed. VERY high bathtub making it dangerous climbing in to shower and my 18 year old granddaughter felt the same way . Courteous and helpful staff . Definitely recommend this hotel.
Great view from the rooftop bar / restaurant, fantastic city!
New plumbing / safe/ helpful staff
Excellent view / safe hotel / good and personable staff/ customer service is important to this hotel . Good location near villa borghese and excellent home made eatery which is very reasonably priced example vegetable and meat dish for 6 Euros ( corner of lombardia and Venetto .
Great hotel. From Check In to Bell staff, all were great. Massimo at check in was amazing. House keeping kept things fresh. Not happy with the staff at the Terrace Lounge. Very unfriendly and poor service.
Convenient and clean
My favorite hotel for the last 4 years. Close to major attractions.
Nice hotel in posh part of Rome
The hotel staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very nice and the room was comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is located in a very posh part of Rome, with tony restaurants all around and is adjacent to the wonderful Villa Borghese and near the Spanish steps. It is definitely in a quieter part of Rome, perhaps not the best bar hopping if that's what you're looking for. The hotel rooftop bar, however, has an incredible view with amazing sunsets and a nice, mid-sized terrace area. The drinks are excellent, albeit pricey. I was very disappointed with the "free internet" service - the wifi was hardly usable from our room, with a pay-wifi service available for upgraded internet speed. However, after paying what we did for the room, decent wifi should have been standard. The cable tv service was also spotty and many channels either did not work or would go in and out of service. There was some noticeable wear in certain parts of the hotel, but nothing too egregious at all.
Wonderful hotel in a great location
Great visit - everyone was wonderful and the accommodations were excellent!
Roman Vacation
This hotel is in a perfect location in Roma. The area is full of great restaurants, and shops.
Great location. Near Spanish steps
We really enjoyed our stay in Rome. The concierge team at the hotel were outstanding. In particular Augustino - he arranged everything we asked for, he said to me during my stay that my problem was his problem and he would fix. And he did every time. Arranging tours, securing mass tickets with the Pope etc etc. well done
Excellent service and location
The hotel was perfectly located-not too close to the hustle and bustle, but not too far enough either. There were some excellent restaurants closeby and better yet, the zoo was a short walk from the hotel - a perfect outing for my little boy. Hotel staff checked everyday to ensure we were happy with everything in the room. The friendliness of the staff made our visit to Rome even more memorable. Thank you Sofitel Rome!
nice but I wouldn't stay there next time
The room I chose looked different than the pictures .. the style is different and smaller.
Nice Hotel and Excellent Location
The bed was unbelievably comfortable!!! The hotel was tucked away in a very quiet area; but still close to some historical sites. I would have rated the hotel a 5, but currently it is showing some wear and tear that need to be addressed. Staff was excellent!!! Roof-top restaurant views were awesome and the breakfast buffet was very good...
Pleasant Stay
Nice Hotel with a beautiful Rooftop view. The area is nice with local restaurants and bars to walk to a block or two away. The spanish steps are right down the hill. Morning Buffet is quite nice and the service was great.
Amazing Hotel
The staff, the room, the cleanliness, the breakfast, the comfy beds, the quiet location were all amazing. The best hotel I've ever stayed in - barring none!
Enjoyed the fact it was in a quieter area, but still close to a number of attractions.
Wonderful stay within walking range of most sites
Loved it. great location, and a terrace restaurant/bar that was incredible, ( voted Best of Europe recently) .What a view for breakfast, or drinks at the end of the day for a great sunset. Loved the room. Now for the down side. A fire /smoke alarm went off on our floor, the fifth, at 10:30 Fri night. After a few minutes we walked downstairs to the lobby and they had no Idea the alarm was going off. They sent someone to the fifth and determined it was a false alarm. They also opened the smoke doors that had closed. They had no idea this had taken place til we told them.
