The hotel was doing renovation on the floor below us and making loud noise early around 8 AM. We complained but nothing was done about it
Beautiful property, Friendly professional staff. Fabulous time
The rooms was clean
Impeccable
Room was small. Hallways outdate. The floor in the bathroom was dirty.
Needs maintenance
Horrible stay, honestly.
Amazing Stay
Amazing Hotel, wonderful staff Amazing stay Will certainly come back Special Thanks a lot for Aziza, Rabiaa and Hasnaa for their hospitality and kindness.
The gracious beauty of the Hotel and grounds is matched by the surpassing excellence of the staff.
Great hotel. Fantastic large rooms with superb view. The young lady at the reception (sorry didn’t get her name) was very nice. The gardens and pool is very nice. The buffet is delicious. Can’t go wrong with this hotel.
Excellent hotel in Rabat
Amazing Hotel in Rabat. The premises are clean and very well maintained. The staff is very professional and accommodating. They granted me an early check-in when I showed up early in the morning, at no fee, even if I failed to ask beforehand. My return flight was late; they accepted the late checkout without any problem. The staff is always ready to help, and they always smile. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back!
Lovely hotel, but away from the main sites
Stayed at the hotel 3 nights as part of an arranged group tour beginning in Rabat. I booked an extra night at the hotel and sent a message to the hotel informing them of our arrangements and asking for the same room for all 3 nights. Never got a response to either message sent, but was informed at check-in that they had received my request. Room was nice, but faced the front of the building looking directly out on the road and the driveway in front of the hotel. Hotel didn't seem to be full, and it would really have been nice to have a room overlooking the gardens. The bed was not very comfortable. Somehow it seems to have a tilt to one side, so I always felt like I was going to roll out of bed. Also, the bedding was entirely too heavy and there was not much in the way of alternatives. So, had a hard time sleeping well due to being too hot. Next time in Rabat I'll probably stay somewhere less expensive and more centrally located.
The grounds were really nice.
I stayed for a week each, twice in the past 2 months. All the staff were so kind, the front desk were welcoming and helpful, the room service was great, my friend Tariq always delivered the food on time and with a smile and even taught me a bit of Arabic, the spa staff were nice too. The breakfast buffet had great options and I loved the sitting outside, overlooking the garden. The bed was comfy, They cleaned my room thoroughly everyday and I enjoyed having tea on the terrace every morning from the supplies in the room. The gym is also well equipped and the hotel was a short commute for me to Soussi&Agdal for work/business meetings. The lounge area was also had a variety of seating areas to take short informal meetings and to meet both business and personal guests. I speak very little French and zero Arabic, but this wasn’t a problem, many of the staff spoke English fluently, and for others my little French was adequate. All in all no complaints. 5 stars. Will definitely be back.
The staff are excellent with a 5 star service approach. Other than the quirk of not providing towels in the spa which is over the top stupid for a facility of this type, this was an excellent experience from start to finish.
Very nice place .Highly recommended.
Great service, wonderful property, made us feel very welcome. Club millesime lounge is great.
In general, I think I will stay was reasonable. I wish to point out that your restaurant service should be improved immediately. It happens, that we stayed there about an hour and nobody came to say anything. This level of service was frustrating, and in one occasion we simply left the place.
The hotel is overpriced and do not correspond to the relevant level. The staff did not inform us about the spa availability and told nothing about the hotel and any amenities, only gave us the keys and informed on breakfast hours. Jacuzzi in the spa did not work, overall spa area does not look clean and uninvitingly. The room cleanness also was not perfect - dust on the shelves, fingerprints.
The worst food in Morrocco
the buffet wasn't good and the service at the buffet is very bad ( they are not replace the plates when is finished, no spoons to serve the food, only one spoon for the hole buffet ) and the food not tasty. Also I disagree the fact they enforce you to put a shower cup in the swimming pool and you have to buy it ... very unusual
Too expensive for what it is.
Disappointing for the price. This WAS once an amazing hotel. It just seemed a bit worn down and understaffed. Couldn’t find anyone to help us in the spa area. Hot tubs were empty. Staff and service at breakfast was horrible. There were a few older businessmen who were being served like royalty at the “buffet” breakfast while the rest of the hotel guests were getting zero service. And the hotel wasn’t busy at all. The lobby and Pool areas were nice.
great hotel
great hotel
It is a perfect and nice hotel
Older property which needs to be renovated
Sofitel Hotel in Rabat isn’t 5 stars hotel.
Nice Hotel in good location but this Sofitel has the worst service, the food was mediocre, expensive and the way they served it was pitiful. Even after I mentioned it to management, they still served me the wrong stuff and not tasty, no napkin, no cutlery, no salt and pepper on a dirty tray. The breakfast I was served, was missing eggs, orange juice and lot more. I am enclosing 2 photos. The air conditioning didn’t work probably. I had a luxury room but no CNN and after 2 days, they finally send a technician and he couldn’t get CNN on. The only thing that was good was the Personal trainer at the Spa, he was great, knowledgeable and gave me a good workout.
Great place to stay in Rabat
It was excellent
Great staff, beautiful views, delight to be there
Not the same as before
They were not answering the phone for over a hour. Although I called all possible ext on hotel phone as well as the main number using my cell which was also busy or not working. Order breakfast at 10am did not recieve breakfast until 1110am. Usually they are better but this week not.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, this Sofitel is let down by its old and in need of maintenance building. we've had the pleasure of staying at a number of Sofitels in the past and this facility is much below the expectations set by other Sofitels.
Wasted $$$
Charged full night , although airline canceled all trips . Did call property but they kept blaming Hotels.com and hotels.com blamed the hotel t self for not accommodating me . Unfortunately I had to stay because I reserved my stay from 11-12 and 13-17 -2020 !
The reception girl was a little unfriendly. The rest of the persons super nice
Best hotel in Rabat
I've stayed in many hotels in Rabat over the years and the Sofitel is the best. There are many places less expensive, but it's worth the cost if you can afford it. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable with very nice balconies with great views. Breakfast has everything you could possibly want. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the tramline so well-located, though shops aren't immediately outside your door. Of course taxis can take you wherever you need to go as well. It's a "modern" hotel done Moroccan style, so if you're looking for a traditional riad that caters to orientalist fantasies, this isn't it. But I used to live in Rabat and it's known by the city's resident's as the capital's premier hotel. You really can't go wrong here.
Recommend highly
Beautiful hotel set in a parkland setting. Food in restaurants excellent, service attentive, pretty rooms. Hotel in a bit isolated location.
Everything was perfect, just the food a little bit too pricey
Luxury service and amenities with great views!
Amazing service, fantastic luxuurious property, love the pool, restaurants, and overall ambiance. Was able to get a lot of business done while still visiting and enjoying time with family.
Nice staff and lots of security, so felt very safe there. Not much in terms of onsite food, other than the restaurants. Would be ideal if there was a shop to buy snacks and incidentals, as the property is not within walking distance to other services.
Nice garden to walk Quite location , shops in hotel maxmara and farah The Friendly staff are helpful But cleanliness in roomsis substandard for Sofitel
Good service , good gacility. Very clean. Professionals
Never go back.
From the check in to the check out, I had nothing but problems with this hotel. I was a good customer of this Hotel for 30 years. The service is so bad. When I checked in, I asked if I could pay for a suite and I was told in a rude way, that it's not free to get a bigger room. I wanted to pay for the difference of price. My room wasn't ready in time. I ordered room service from supposedly a 5 stars restaurant at the hotel and my food came cold, with no napkin, no salt, pepper or a spoon for my soup. To make the matter worst, the front desk argued with me every morning about breakfast for 2. I did book a room with breakfast for 2 and I did show them my reservation but they still insisted that I can only have breakfast for 1. When I did mentioned it to the Guest service manager, she said: I am sorry. The next morning: I spoke to the general manager and he said the same thing: I am sorry. They didn't attempt to refund the fees they charged me for breakfast or make an attempt to keep me as a customer. I had so many issues, I will need 2 pages to mention them all. Bottom like, terrible service and management doesn't care.
have a wedding all night, finish at 7am, never sleep
The hotel ground and room are spacious and luxurious. The concierge staff arranged a taxi driver to take us sightseeing which was nice since most attractions are far apart from each other. I would recommend staying at this hotel but not to dine at the restaurant as I didn't have a good dining experience.
wonderfull
Too expensive for what they’re offering
I paid $450 for the room, i was expecting much more. The room was very tiny, the bed is not comfy and the staff is very non chalent.
Excellent service very clean friendly staff will definitely visit again
Sofitel Rabat
The reception staff are the very best we have encountered: beautiful and warm people and most efficient. The French and Moroccan restaurants are excellent. The roo was a little dated but comfortable.
Nice hotel with a very nice location
I had a nice room located in the sixth floor with a nice view on the garden and swimming pool. The neighborhood is quite and very green and yet the hotel is not far very from the city center. The prices of some items in room service are exaggerated. The spa team needs some training in dealing nicely with customers and responding with rigor to their requests. It does not take much but it makes a difference!
Worse customer service
The hotel didn’t allow my visitor to come to my room.
Wonderful hotel, beautiful grounds - the best place to stay in Rabat.
Finest in Rabat. Very good location, in heart of Rabat city.close to most attractions. Beside Rabat forests.
Excellent stay however...
What a beautiful stay. Rooms are lovely big balcony. Reception staff are lovely. Porters are also lovely they can’t do. Enough for you. We ate in both restaurants I would highly recommend this. They were both superb. The staff were also great. However the staff in French restaurant are that bit more attentive to your needs. What was disappointing was house keeping. I found that they removed our bin nd did not return it. Under the beds aren’t hoovered. And I didn’t feel the room was actually hoovered or linen changed in our 5 night stay. I work for a budget hotel. My housekeepers do a lot more in comparison. One day we returned with room service still in our room so called down to have it removed all they do is make the bed and change towels. We used the spa. Overall was very good. People doing treatments are great. Staff on reception iagain have a lot to learn about service. I found them abrupt and a tad bit unhelpful. On our last day we wanted to use one of the facilities and receptionist was rude and quite abruptly said NO with no explanation we was taken back. We later went back to ask why, at this point we was informed it was full. Again not correct after our own investigations we realised it was hired out for private use. Just wish they had said this to avoid confusion. Overall good stay but room for improvement
If you want really five-stars property
Luxury hotel and resort. A bit isolated from the rest of the city though. But once could not go wrong by choosing this property.
Nice place but overpriced
While the lobby and other public areas of the hotel (restaurant, pool, gardens) are beautiful and well-maintained, I expected a higher standard of cleanliness and comfort in the rooms themselves. The rooms seemed a little shabby, and it didn’t appear that the toilet had been thoroughly cleaned before we checked in...
Great hotel - Terrible bed - Avoid room 333
It is a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds. The service is great. But the bed was awful. The mattress is either very cheap or very old. It was so sloped to one side, like a huge person slept on the one side for years, that it was hard to sleep. I eventually had to sleep horizontally on it.
Enjoyed the six day stay.
The hotel was nice, but does not have or doesn't enforce a non-smoking environment. UGH!!
Great Hotel but Let down by restaurant staff.
Can't fault the hotel in any way with the exception of the restaurant and pool staff. Service on these 2 areas lets down the entire hotel. For example, we had to ask for towels 5/6 times before they did something about it and ordering drinks was a non-starter. Waiting staff in restaurants (specially at breakfast) even worse as no smiles in site and you have to bascially find your own seat and hope they you get served. You are left feeling rather unwelcome. Not what you expect from arguably the top priced hotel in Rabat. Apart from this, rest of the hotel is perfect.
Nice hotel
Good hotel warm welcome and staff are very helpful also breakfast is great
Nice Hotel but the staff need more training on cus
The fitness room needs a particular attention. No towels in and fitness machines do not work properly.
dissapointed.
the hotel is beat up and going under renovation. the pool was closed, our level was dirry and having carpet changed. mold in the shower and the bed was sort of broken, with a split in the middle.
Superior hotel, superior prices, but the staff are generally not up to scratch and the rooms are poorly planned. Also they are carrying out work in the corridor and by the lifts, have stripped the carpets and there is dust everywhere. No warning of that or concession on price however!!!
The hotel is nice specially the staff Mariam.
We checked in and the beginning was not a good room because the toilet wasn't working properly and the safe is broken. Than we called guests relations and Miss Mariam talked care of us. Because of the staffs we rate our experience with 4.5 out of 5.
nicest amenities, food was average
amazing spa, good gym, sauna, hot tubs, indoor/outdoor pool!
Very nice gouvernant
Best sevice: rooms and restaurants Clean Joyful Very nice decoration Shops Spa nice
Great hotel for pleasure and business
The hotel is well suited to meet business partners, as it has a very presentable lobby, nice areas to sit down and a nice garden. Appropriate for a personal and / or business stay. The staff is professional and very responsive. Only minus pointiert that zur regular rooms are small.
Perfect example of Luxury and Customer Service
I don't give 5 stars lightly, even to "5 Star" establishments, as there are many things that go into 5 stars beyond their own rating. But this property is exquisite. The staff are very helpful. Wifi is included and strong in the room. The facilities were up to date and the food onsite was AMAZING. There were even celebrity sightings. I would stay here again in an instant.
Insects in my room
Over all my experience was pleasant until I saw a cockroach and ants in my room on the 3rd day. I eneded up changing the hotel because i just could not imagine staying in after seeing the insects. This is a 5 star hotel that should never happen.
Smoking should be banned inside bar. Smoke travel all the way to rooms. My room had shower handle only on bath tub. No handles in tub . My partners shower was ok. Overall, great hotel.
Excellent Service
It was great stay at the hotel, but I do not think we got the room we booked, unless this is what they call it "Luxury Room". The service in the hotel is excellent with many facilities.
Average hotel
Overall my stay was good However i had few issues, check-in was very slow and my bed was broken in one side! The garden view was ok
We loved our stay here the only disappointment was that the restaurants were more like bars than a nice restaurant to enjoy a meal
Gorgeous hotel
Great stay, amazing room
Best in Rabat
I have stayed in many hotels in Rabat. Sofitel is the best of them all. Internet at some parts of the hotel is not good. But overall experience is great.
Top hotel in city
Probably the best, 5 star hotel in city. But a bit out of the way, but for $2 or 20 MAD you can get to the Medina. VERY nice hotel and grounds. Awesome pool.
Nice hotel
The hotel is great. Room was clean and nice. The bed was not comfortable.
Customer service challenged with poor ATD
Am experienced and patient traveler, but front desk staff was arrogant ancondescending during entire stay. Taxi access for blue taxis instead of hotel car, was nearly impossible. Floor carpet was tattered, door frame was in need of repair and shower had mold. We cut stay short and they never bothered to stop talking to each other long enough to even ask why . Facility totally geared for large company business travel in its geographic location as well. worst hotel Ive experienced in years.
Nice hotel with excellent location
Stayed for 5 nights with family. Superb service, friendly staff, nice restaurants, nice lobby, free WiFi, excellent location. Enjoyed most their beautiful garden.
Beautiful Hotel exceed expectations!!
The hotel staff were extremely attentive and very polite. The hotel exceed beyond my expectations. Overall 100% excellent service and quality!!
very nice hotel but no sense of service
The atmosphere in this hotel was very nice. The only thing to really improve in the hotel is the Service: in all restaurants bars coffee of the hotel, the service was very very slow, you can wait for a coffee for an hour. This was raised by many people of the family who were there for our wedding party you can ask for a tapas, and they don't bring it, and after you see it in your bill. For our wedding, we asked to have our room prepared and decorated for the wedding at the deskfront, they didnt do it. And this was very important for us. the last thing I can mention about the bad service, during the checkout they didn't have enough change (3 moroccan dirhams), so they just said to us, no change. Instead of looking for a change or giving us the piece of 5 moroccan dirhams if they don't have three. there is no arrogance in their service but just level of service skills and the sense of service is very low. otherwise the hotel was very nice
Lovely hotel, but ridiculous pricing for food
This is a beautiful hotel, well maintained and with luxurious rooms. Room service is a bit unreliable, you will have to ask several times to get things done. Staff are very friendly, and they try to deliver good service (they just lack the discipline to remember what you asked for!). The restaurants are seriously over-priced. The 'buffet restaurant' will cost you €50-70 / head. The food is good (cakes are exquisite), but you can eat outside the hotel for 1/10th of this... Ask for a 'Blue Taxi' and save yourself a fortune in taxi fares (top tip from Ahmed the Concierge). Hotel always needs a taxi to get anywhere in Rabat. Beautiful garden, ask for Garden View if you can. Really enjoyed staying here, but did not eat breakfast or other meals unless a necessity. A fine hotel, but just lost the plot on their beverage pricing. Can eat similar quality food for less in The Hague...
great trip to morocco
great hotel, friendly staff, luxury, clean room.. simply: you can't go wrong with Sofitel hotels *****
Great luxury hotel
Stayed here whilst visiting a friend. Great hotel, super comfortable room and extremely friendly staff, ready to help or answer any questions. Moroccan restaurant inside hotel was amazing, great food, good portion sizes though a little pricey was a great experience to enjoy traditional cuisine. I was driving a hire car around Rabat so very easy for me to travel. Petite taxi is not a problem for the hotel to call for you to get into Central Rabat which is a 10 minute drive and Agdal which is just a 5 minute drive by taxi/car. No complaints what so ever. If I ever travel to Rabat again, I know where I'll be staying.
Good hotel but needs updating
Nice hotel but needing some refurbishment. Nothing major but carpets could be replaced, light fixtures were flickering (though quickly repaired by staff). Overall still done of the best business hotel options in Rabat.
Wonderful Hotel Wonderful staff.
Great hotel staff doing their best to please their customers, which in my opinion have done an excellent job. I would recommend this hotel to all my colleague and friends.
Good - but overpriced.
The hotel was great as was the service. But coming from the UAE where there are comparable 4/5 star hotels Sofitel Rabat is just not in the same league in terms of quality or value for money. A simple Moroccan tea from the lounge area was 40MAD ($6) a plate of fruit cost 90MAD($11). The housekeeping team did ply me with a few small edibles as freebies but only during the last 2 days of my stay - essentially too late for me to enjoy them.
On a business trip to Rabat. Great hotel though a little far from center.
Rabat raver!
We are very experienced travelers but only recently discovered Sofitel. If there is a better hotel chain we don't know where it is. This facility in Rabat is excellent and the price was modest. Great service at every turn.
Nicest hotel in Rabat
This hotel is truely 5 stars. Rooms are great and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is in a super safe area a little outside of the city center. Couldn't have asked for a nicer staff. Not cheap but definitely worth the price.
Rabat is a lovely place.. Hotel is amazing! Would of loved to stay a few days had we known it was so nice... A definate recommendation for this hotel when visiting Rabat!
Staff won't look you in the eye
3 people fell into the black water reflecting pool near the bar. No one from the hotel came to help them or check on them or offer them something - free drink or apology. Staff never looked us in the eye when ordering at the bar. Slow service - always had to request a waiter, never stopped by to check on us.
Excellent
Very beautiful gardens & surrounding.
Home away from home
a totally beautiful experience
paradise
A perfect get-away. While not as central as it's competition it was nice to be in this "retreat" in beautiful grounds, excellent food, service and accommodations. The rooms are superb. The bedding--incredible. Breathaking view of the whole city from our room. It was such a pleasure, our first day we never even left to sightsee.
Some staff unfriendly and unhelpful
Some of the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The concierge gave us inaccurate and damaging information. Hotel reception tried to sneak spurious charges onto our bill.
I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel in Rabat, Morocco and was very happy with the experience. My only problem was that the location of the hotel is such that it is difficult to walk to anything. Other than that the staff was very friendly and efficient and the facilities were magnificent. Beautiful gardens in the rear.
Great weekend in Rabat for Mawazine
The Sofitel in Rabat was very nice to stay in while we were attending the Mawazine festival. The location was perfect (right next to the main stage) and the room was beautiful and comfortable. Our only complaint would be the service. We had to call down to the front desk four times to get an iron and ironing board. However, I'm sure it was a very busy weekend with the festival. Room service food was sub par.
Great Improvement Over Last Year
Last year the service was not up to par and the front desk gave a stranger a key to my wife's guest room. This year everything was perfect: room, staff, and food were are excellent.. A friend of ours who traveled with us felt that the Sofitel Jardin des Roses in Rabat was the best hotel he had ever stayed in.
Perfect pool!
I took a short break to Rabat and Fes and stayed for a night at the Sofitel. The garden and pool are superb. The pool has sunbeds, canopied beds, hammocks and large round sofas for you to sunbathe in. The service is top notch and the staff are friendly and accommodating. At the time there was construction going on beside the pool but it stopped during the heat of the day so you didn't notice the noise that much. The prices are what you would expect from an international hotel. Do not expect local prices. Overall, the hotel was great for a short stay.
Excellent Business-Class Hotel in Rabat
The Sofitel is a first rate business class hotel in Rabat. There were no surprises with my stay and I would recommend the hotel to any business traveler. The club lounge buffet breakfast was satisfactory, but not anything special. Then dinners I ate at the hotel, however, were exceptional. In particular, I would recommend the Al Warda Restaurant for business travelers and meetings. My room was not on the garden side, but I was on a Club Floor and had a balcony that was usable even on chilly evenings. The staff was very helpful, but the business center can best be described as spartan. I found the Internet speed to be quite satisfactory. Try the Spa for a 1/2 price massage from 9-11 AM. Great way to start the day. I will definitely stay here in my next visit to Rabat.
Perfect Hotel
It was very nice staying in Sofitel. I believe it is the best hotel in Rabat with respect to quality of service, amenities, location and comfortable rooms.I really liked the garden and out door bar seating along with coffee shop looking at the garden.
