Worth the stay
This was our second visit to this Sofitel. It is an attractive hotel with a spacious bedroom, closet and bathroom. The bathroom mirror is well lit and there’s a separate shower and bathtub. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast in their Gaby restaurant.
A good week
The hotel is very nice. Service was excellent, the Executive Suite was comfortable. The rooms were very quite at night.
Poor service, poor cleanliness, dated
Room cleanliness poor, there were sweets on the floor from the last guest that were never cleaned in our entire stay, sheets were not changed despite being requested, stains on the floor and poor wiring. Not a 4 star hotel as it stands, and we like Sofitel hotels
Staff was great
It was a lovely hotel, pleasant employees, also great location
Very very poor service. The manager did not call back. Waited for 1 hour for anything asked. Rooms were below average
Always great staff, friendly and competent. Comfortable room
My wife and I had a great time. Very respectful and helpful.
Clean Excellent Staff
Nice place
Sofitel So Nice
Very good experience other than no wake up call on the morning of departure as was scheduled and the weather in NYC was dreadful, in the teens and 20s with 40mph winds all three days.
This was a fantastic hotel! We went to NYC for New Year's Eve and it is very conveniently located near Times Square. One block in either directions gets you near cabs, shops and landmarks. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel!
Great location
La limpieza del baño se puede mejorar
my only criticism was no coffee/tea maker in our room.
Staffs were very helpful and accommodating. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Manhathan.
Worth every penny!!!
Service was exceptional. Staff was incredible. Room size was beyond acceptable. Not one negative comment can be made of the staff and this property.
Bed mattress was in desperate need of replacing. It had big indentions in both sides to the point of almost being hard to stay on the bed without rolling off. Overall our stay was great as we were there for 8 days and had no major issues. It was a small room which was to be expected for NYC. The restaurant in the hotel was convenient and the service was great.
Sofitel Was great!
All good
The hotel is tired and needs repairs
Can find better for the price
Check in was easy and staff was very friendly. Felt price was extremely high for all the more the room had to offer. There was no fridge or microwave. The room was pretty bare bones. The room was fairly clean but overall condition of the hotel itself could have been much better. Many areas where molding, trim, carpet, and wallpaper was chipping/peeling/lifting up
Good Location
A reasonably good place to stay, I had to move rooms due to the shower not working properly and noisy guests in the adjacent room. The hotel handled the move well. Nicely situated for shopping and theatre district.
My third stay at the Sofitel will likely be the last. Don’t get me wrong, the staff are excellent and the location can’t be beat. The good at Gaby’s was fine. But the room was tired and had some damages that show a lack of caring. Also, no water, coffee or teas in the room? C’mon, this is basic. Will give another hotel a try next year.
Good location for travelling round Manhattan
The staff was super attentive and the hotel was decorated so nice for the holidays. The free hot chocolate and hot cider on a super cold day was a special touch.
Amazing hotel. Extremely comfortable bed. The location is amazing. Valet parking at $80 a night is actually quite reasonable for nyc standards. The only issue i had were the pillows being way too soft, i need something with more neck support.
I ordered an omelet for breakfast which was included, but the waiter asked what kind of flavor what I want so I said everything. At the end the bill were charged $2-3on each vegetables which weren't even showed in the omelet. I had to pay for $34. My opinion is the waiter should've mentioned that they're be a charge for the TINY BIT of those veggies. I was so disappointed for this charge. Also I booked through Expedia I knew they will charge an extra fee. It costs $177for each room I booked. I booked 2 rooms each room costs $680 for one night. I know it was the Thanksgiving day that the price went up. But I should've searched more about the condition of the hotel.
Very nice location!
Extremely nice at check in.
A decent location, quiet and clean room. Expensive, average service, fairly dated rooms.
Great staff, great location. Beautiful property!
It was a great location.
Absolutely love this hotel- comfortable rooms/beautiful lobby/restaurant beautifully decorated/ second stay At Christmas- going to be an annual event
Great location!
Great customer service
I loved the location, but the hotel is old and soul less
Staff was very friendly. Great location. Property was well maintained. Concierge helped us with booking a personal driver to drive us around to different areas we wanted to see.
Large rooms for the area. Easy access to everything
Beautiful hotel, but room had several stains on carpet, no refrigerator or coffee maker for the price I paid. Also had to block outlets with magazines because of the draft coming in (room 418). Will be looking at other options next trip.
Coming from UK, why wasn’t there a kettle in the room As nyc is so expensive not everyone wants to have room service just to order a cup of coffee or tea. Friends who also came with us didn’t have any heating and their room was freezing, and the hotel didn’t even offer to exchange their room or even communicate what was going to be done to help them/rectify their issue. They spend most of their time in our room as it was warmer than theirs. So no not the best hotel
The position of the property was good, staff we met were friendly. Food at the hotel was very expensive probaly the most expensive breakfast I've every had although very nice, so we only ate their once. No tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms which was a shame.
Disappointed
The hotel is somewhat rundown. The staff at the barcand restaurant were far from hositable. The mini bar was never restocked. I eas disappointed and plan not to come back.
All lovely. Could have done with coffee and tea making facilities in room but lovely comfortable rooms
An amazing hotel and perfectly situated. Having a bath was class and extremely useful after full on days of walking.
Fantastic hotel
The property was in a great location. I can only comment on our particular room which I feel needed updating. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom door was very annoying as it was 2 separate doors which both needed to be opened to use the bathroom.
The facilities and surrounding property were first-class. And the staff was very polite and professional. Although a short stay, the experience is memorable. Thanks!
Safe neighborhood close to whatever makes you happy.
Great staff and location
Excellent
Our Executive suite was perfect! Large, spotless and well laid out.
I liked how beautiful the hotel was. I disliked how housekeeping was terrible. They didn’t vacuum well, I saw crumbs on the carpet. Also, the day we checked in, the room wasn’t clean and had a teacup from another guest with trash cans that were not empty. We told the reception that the room wasn’t clean and they did apologize.
Very nice hotel experience. Called for bucket of ice and extra slippers and they said of course and was delivered in under 5 minutes. Excellent service
Not bad…but not great.
I was disappointed with this hote, but it’s hard to pinpoint why. The staff were very friendly, the closet space was awesome for a NYC hotel, and i enjoyed my breakfasts there…but the room just was not up to par with what i expected (I stayed there once many years ago). It was showing its age: carpet, bed, bathroom, etc. This was the third NYC hotel I stayed at in four months and it was the first to not have a wand in the shower (I wound up using the one in the bathtub after each shower…a tad inconvenient). Overall, nothing was BAD but it just wasn’t as nice as I expected from Sofitel.
Hotel has large gracious lobby. The hotel tower is recessed between 44th and 45th. The rooms are generous with large bathrooms having both full tub and glass enclosed separate shower. TV had built-in chromcast capability. Small openable windows are installed if fresh ventilation is wanted. Beds are great and closets lighted and commodious. Quiet despite being near 6th Ave/Broadway.
I always stay at the Arlo Midtown and absolutely love it! But we decided to change things up this time and try Sofitel. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. But the facility was definitely not up to par. Very outdated. The room smelled very weird as soon as we opened the door, we immediately had to open the window to air it out. The mattress clearly hadn’t been changed in years because it was imprinted on each side where people have slept in it over the years. Needs a huge remodeling. We ended up going to Arlo to have drinks and dinner and enjoy how amazing it smells lol. Definitely not luxury for the price but great location, very walkable and safe and close to the subway at Bryant Park.
Great location, excellent staff, very comfortable beds… what else? It was really great!
I always love the bedding at Sofitel and sleep very well.
Great atay
Nice Midtown hotel. Within convenient distance to Times Square and Fifth Avenue shopping.
Awesome place to stay!
Excellent Midtown hotel, superb breakfast and bar, beautiful views from the top floor. Fantastic location.
Our room was great. Staff was accommodating and friendly and helpful. We could walk or get the subway everywhere to see NYC’s sights. Good dining close by. Reasonable prices. Would stay here again.
This is our second stay at Sofitel and it is my most favored mid-town hotel. The room is large and comfortable and the bathroom is almost perfect (more hooks would be appreciated). Our only difficulty was the road blockages associated with the holiday parades The bellman assured us that the cab driver could navigate the barriers but this was not the case. We had to bail on the taxi he provided and use the subway instead to make our flight.
The staff and the ambience were exceptional!
Terrible ! We were supposed to have breakfasts
Great property, very clean and great location.
I love the room size, the elegant furniture in the rooms and lobby sitting areas, not to mention the delicious French food in cozy restaurant “Gaby” downstairs.
Very clean and good location. Would return
Breakfast is very good but very expensive
Great Service, rooms need some love.
I love the Sofitel brand, but this one needs a refresh on its rooms, not sure I’d choose to stay here again. Sofitel in Mexico City blows me away every time I stay. Here in NYC the room was nice and big but very worn, stained carpet, furniture, and wallpaper, pillows very thin. There is no coffee maker in the room, you need to ask for it to be delivered and no bottled water unless you ask. Geoffrey at reception is incredible though at check in and providing recommendations when the concierge was already gone home at 5:00 on a Saturday. And the lobby and bar are beautiful Thank you.
5 stars
Great location
Excellent hotel in midtown.
Love the location and always love the Sofitel staff. I am a Sofitel rewards member and have enjoyed many other properties. The NYC staff is so gracious, helpful, and always with a kind smile. The property has begun a much needed update/renovation project and I very much look forward to revisiting soon!
It was close to Times Square and Rockefeller Center.
Need a mini bar or at least a vending machine for drinks and snacks
Staff were lovely and room was comfortable
Tea&Coffee facilities in the room would have been great!
Its clean . Nice and so friendly staff. Only one thing need to be taken care of is the fitness center.
Staff were very friendly and the lobby and bar/restaurant impressive. We had a few blips. There were no towels in our room on check in and when we asked for some it took a couple requests to get a timely action as we had plans we were trying to get ready for. There were dirty plates outside the door of the room next to us for 3 days. On the floor and never picked up by staff they repeatedly walked by. Our room was spacious and nice. The bed was meh. Droopy sides causing me to slide and roll in the night. I did not complain as I am sure they would have accommodated me in another room. The location can’t be beat.
This was our second stay at Sofitel, it was even better than the first. The staff were all so thoughtful and kind and the suite with the iconic skyscraper views was absolutely incredible. Can’t wait for our next stay.
I would give this hotel 5 star on everything from the time we entered to the time we left. The employees were friendly, inviting and helpful. The room was quiet and the blackout curtains were exceptional. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
This is a lovely hotel and perfectly situated near the theater district and shopping. Tons of restaurants and easily walkable to almost everything!
The staff were amazing I can’t speak more highly enough about them.
Excellent cleanliness, bed linens were very comfortable and very high quality, view on 26th was spectacular, onion soup room service was fast and very tasty, location is the best for tourists as it's close to everything.
The service was great, the staff were friendly, nice linnens, lobby and restaurant were nicely appointed but the room was shabby and furniture worn. Not what you expect from a Sofitel. The view was a courtyard two walls of brick and one a old hotel 20 ft away. over all the room was gloomy on a bright sunny day. No coffee maker only one chair in the room.
Property & staff were great! I really liked the bar staff. Eddy & Jack. They were GREAT & very social. They made us feel very welcomed :)
Not disappointed at all. However, property needs renovation.
It was okay, mattress and pillows not comfortable, dining in hotel was expensive
Geoffrey at the front desk was always very pleasant and helpful. Great hotel and stay. We will definitely book again with Sofitel when in NYC!
Don’t put someone in a handicap room unless they ask for one. Also update true televisions in the room. So outdated.
Needs updates, and sewer smell in room coming from bathroom
Property needs updates. Huge crack in ceiling of bathroom along with bubbling on the wall paper. Also somewhat of a sewage smell coming from bathroom, particularly at night.
Location was great, service was outstanding, beds were sublime!

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the SOFITEL New York. The staff was amazing in all aspects and the room was comfortable, luxurious and clean, housekeeping did an amazing job, front desk staff, bellmen, bar staff, they were all very friendly and helpful and i felt very welcomed here. The size of the room and bathroom was perfect and very spacious especially for New York standards. The bed was incredibly comfortable and slept comfortably. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to all New York visitors. Also the location is unbeatable.
