The best hotel in Hanoi.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Five stars+. They even upgraded us.

It had great restaurant, food was delicious, breakfast was beautiful, room was okay.

Stay Here! The Metropole is truly one of kind!!!

The Metropole exceeds all expectations! We loved our stay! Our room was comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed meals at Angelina and the Bamboo bar. Breakfast was excellent. The bunker historical tour was so good; and our guide explained the storied history and the significance of the Metropole, bringing it to life for us. Lastly, the staff is exceptional and friendly. Literally, every single employee we encountered was fantastic.

Incredibly beautiful hotel- the service is superb every staff is polite and welcoming! Love this place! Save your money for this amazing place!

Five star experience!

Check in was amazing! We arrived at 1:30 AM and the staff could not have been more friendly. Our “butler” greeted us with champagne. The hotel is beautiful, clean and our room was spacious with every amenity you can think of!

Very classy property with an amazing history! My room was spotless and up to date with attention to the environment.

Historic and luxury

Loved the Sofitel Hanoi. Staff and property were exquisite and walkable to main Hanoi attractions. Awesome spa facility and great restaurants and bar. Also a great cigar menu and lounge for those who partake. Will stay here again.

The Sofitel Hanoi excellent. First, great location in the heart of the historic French quarter, walking distance to most everything. The service, restaurants, rooms, gym were all excellent. Hanoi is amazing, but after a day touring the city, it was so nice to return to the Sofitel... a sense of calm amongst the high-energy whirlwind that is Hanoi.

Lovely hotel. Classical. Get a room at the heritage wing, it’s nicer and worth it.

Old World Splendour

The Metropole is outstanding, inside is every bit as lovely as the facade suggests it might be. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. The food is a mix of Vietnamese and international cuisine, the local dishes are certainly worth a shot. The hotel organised us a wonderful tour guide who spent the day with us visiting parts of Hanoi you might otherwise miss. This was such a good idea, and is highly recommended.

Can't say enough good things about this Hotel. The attention to detail is exceptional all aimed at giving you a special experience. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The pool area and Gym are 1st class. Angelina's restaurant is a must have experience. Special call out to all the pool bar staff, particularly Mr Long and Ms Hang.

The French restaurant has a dress code, but no one adheres to it. So I don’t see the point of having it.

The staff was great and the hotel had a great vibe. Rooms were a little small for a five star but overall it was great experience.

Beautiful historic hotel with rich history going back to 1901. Conveniently located close to Hoan Kiem Lake, Old Quarter... But beside those, you have to take taxi or Grab which is cheap: 2,3 USD or Euros. I love everything about the hotel: the staff gave excellent service, always make you feel VIP,, Rooms are clean, beds are very white and comfy( top notch). Baths feature Balmain soap and shampoo. Glass bottled water. Everything yells high class. Would highly recommend if you can afford while in Hanoi.

Bad communication with staff. Not much English speaking.

The property divided into 2 areas. It appears to divided the guests into two unequal groups. One area seems to be much nicer than the other. Not easy to go from one to another.

The hotel is magnificent. The room was gorgeous, very comfortable bed, quiet, and spacious. The staff were all amazing, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The restaurants all had a beautiful atmosphere and outstanding food and service. The Club Lounge was very nice, with excellent food and service. The only downside is it’s very expensive, but you get what you pay for.

The staff was the most accommodating of any hotel I have stayed in the world. The dining options within the hotel were off the chart.

Great hotel

Our stay at the Sofitel was incredible. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy Hanoi! Convenient to the Old Quarter, the lake, and anywhere else you might want to go. The pool was luxurious, the gym was well equipped (and offered lime mint water!), and the staff went above and beyond.

Classic hotel with amazing staff and amenities to match . Treat yourself to a slice of 5 star Hà Nội history and take advantage of all that this Hotel has to offer. Coffee on the sidewalk, swim in the courtyard pool, cocktails at Angelina’s Bar, Việt Nam cuisine and a truly top shelf breakfast buffet. We’ll definitely return to stay !

High price for a reason ... clean, quiet, and really good PROFESSIONAL STAFF. They are always looking out for you. I had my room on "Do Not Disturb" for four days and they called to check up. Also I asked for taxi thinking hotel prices are worse. They called taxi and made sure the standard rate was given. If I had used a taxi by myself, price would have been doubled.

Incredible venue with such a history & service quality. Although I didn’t dine much on the property, really enjoyed staying here and the staff were so attentive. I look forward to coming back here.

A beautiful iconic hotel with fantastic service.

Outstanding experience once you get over the dreadful, aggressive upselling on check in. Totally unnecessary for a property of this stature.

This has to be one of our favourite hotels ever. From the personal welcome by Hoa, to the staff remembering us from being the last guests before covid lock down, to the amazing Ms. Bonng at the Spa, all the staff are so wonderful. The location in the Old Quarter is perfect, you escape the hectic pace outside and arrive into a serene environment which seems a million miles away from the hubbub outside. So perfect for exploring the city. As for the food and drink all the restaurants and bars we tried were superb.

There are many reasons why this gorgeous hotel has stood the test of time: great service, lots of amenities, perfect location and comfortable rooms. The courtyard pool is an oasis in the middle of Hanoi. It’s a must see place in the already beautiful Hanoi

Lovely colonial hotel, immaculate condition & well located.

Unmatched history in a world class atmosphere celebrating the French History in Hanoi…

There were 9 in our group across 3 rooms including 3 kids. The hotel staff was amazing…so great with the kids and very accommodating. The service was impeccable, the hotel was beautiful and well located, and the breakfast was fantastic.

Lovely hotel with an interesting history

We just got back from our trip and we are extremely missing our stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will return to Hanoi just to stay at this lovely hotel. No complaints during our stay at all as we’ve received amazing service from the staff and found the rooms to be extremely comfortable. Part of my top 5 most favorite hotels in the world!

Great historic building done up nicely. Close to all old town attractions. Great service from check-in, food and beverage, concierge and check-out. Beautiful pool area to escape the hustle and bustle of Hanoi for a bit.

Our stay at the Metropole Hanoi was wonderful. This iconic hotel lives up to its reputation in every way. It’s history is as amazing as it’s restaurants and it’s outstanding service. A brilliant time for us.

Love the room

The property and service are exceptional. You sense you’re part of history. Consider staying in Vietnamese-run hotels though. We didn’t feel connected to the amazing local culture here. Lots of wonderful options to stay too.

It is a spendid hotel in which to luxuriate for a few days. The ambience is as you would expect from a grand colonial hotel, from the fabulous restaurants, to the tropical garden. I give it 5 stars, despite a small niggle I have with not being informed of my VIP access benefits on check in and there was no mention of a room upgrade (or apology it was not available) or late check out. To be fair this is common at many hotels I stay in and I tend to have ask rather than the information being offered.

Best hotel in Vietnam

I was in hotel management for 30 years in the USA. Believe me when I say: everything about the Metropole is unparalleled in Vietnam and top notch. The service level provided by the highly seasoned staff is simply over the top. By day 2 of your stay, they all know your name and your preferences so you feel like you are staying in your own home- only better and nicer!

Great stay!

The place lives up to it's name. The bed and pillows are amazingly comfortable. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Sitting peacefully at Le Bar you forget you are in the middle of a busy city.

I arrived at 2:00 AM and found the hotel closed because of a suspected virus case. They took me to a hotel around the corner. It was OK but a lesser hotel. They had no control and it was not their fault. However, there was and has been no offers of any compensation. After going to Hot An we returned and booked a night again in the Metropol. The facilities and dining options were great. However we were informed breakfast would be an additional $35 each. At the price we paid that was an unexpected surprise. Hotels in Hanoi at a third of the price include great breakfasts. Because museums had been closed earlier we asked the concierge desk if they were reopened. They said yes. We went out and found them all closed. They should have known.

Oasis in this dirty town. Food was ok. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Hotel is a gem. Lovely comfortable room. Great choice.

Very good , concierge service is exceptional well

I have travelled to many locations over the last 20+ years in Southeast Asia. I have stayed in many wonderful hotels in Cambodia and Vietnam. The people I was traveling with are even more experienced travelers in the region. We all agreed that the Hanoi Metropole is virtually without equal. The hotel perfectly frames and captures the genuine charm of the city in ways too numerous to list. What sets them apart the most, in my opinion, is the uniformly superior quality of their entire staff from top to bottom. I cannot recall one person who was not over the top in trying to do the best possible job. There was one young woman in particular who best personified kindness and professionalism. Her name is Annie. With people like her working there, I would hate to be in competition with the Hanoi Metropole. I hope to return there soon.

A great time at Sofitel Legend Hanoi

Great hotel and well deserved its great reputation. Really enjoyed the great welcome and hospitality by the Sofitel team will definitely come visit and stay again.

Lots of history and the French architecture is elegant

Absolutely superb stay, worth every penny. Celebrating our anniversary, we were given complimentary chocolates and flowers, such a lovely surprise. The hotel was exceptional and the selection at breakfast was amazing. Something different each day. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Snor recommend this hotel enough. Very convenient for shops and the lake. There is a market on a weekend about 15 minutes walk away, lots of roads are closed to traffic making it a very pleasant stroll. If I go to Hanoi again I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Average hotel

It was a very very average hotel for the price I paid for. Nothing stood out from the breakfast - only soy and normal milk available. Food selection was limited Room was very small could barely fit 2 luggages on the floor
