Spacious room, comfortable bed, nice view

Loved the Smugglers Cove! Privacy of an Inn but homey touches like a B and B. Super friendly and helpful staff!

It is a beautiful old building. Cozy and warm with beautiful sitting areas. The room was clean and the bed super comfy.

Perfect location

Quaint Inn downtown St.Andrews. Within an easy walk of the waterfront, restaurants and shops.

The room was very clean,,, the hot water first time trying was quite long in getting hot. It was our first time staying there and it was very comfortable.

Overall a nice place to stay, and very convenient. We would stay here again. On the downside, a tv with no actual programming guide is annoying, and there should always be a bedside table and lamp on both sides of the bed. To do without these is an unnecessary annoyance.

Smugglers cove

Was in the main business area so walked everywhere. Older establishment but was clean and comfortable bed.

I decided to visit Lunenburg on the 5th anniversary of my husband's passing. Without realizing it, I had booked the same hotel we had been in, and possibly even the same room. The memories flooded back as I walked into the hotel and saw the front desk and especially, as I got off the elevator and saw the layout of the rooms. There was a little "living room" area where you could sit and chat with other guests on the 4th floor. I had an enjoyable stay given all the memories and would highly recommend this beautiful Inn, for your next visit in the area. Friendly staff and beautifully appointed, clean room for the win!!

Charming town and Inn!

Friendly staff. Clean room. But, crazy small room. 308. Avoid it. No room for 2 suitcases. At room super tiny

Quaint and cozy. Bohemian. Everything worked fine but the bathroom could have used an upgrade. Loved the convenience to dining and shopping. We stayed one night so it was fine for that.

Amazing staff and easy all around experience

Cute little inn in beautiful Lunenburg. Lovely owners and very conveniently located to everything you'd want to see in the village. Decor was a bit dated and the mattresses were too soft, but the hospitality and location make up for it.

Noise problems

There is no sound proofing. There was a lounge area outside my door with other guests sitting and talking for hours and conversing with other guests passing by. I complained to the front desk but they did not offer to move me. It continued into the evening. It continued later into the evening. I got no rest.

Lovely

The owners of Smugglers Cove have taken great pride in their hotel and it shows. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the hotel is in a great location. Parking, though, is an issue, If one is lucky, one can find a place on the street near the hotel. Other than that, there are other areas that are further away, one on the street and one a lot. The owners will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy, and we were.

Central location

Great location in the center of Lunenberg. Spacious and well kept, comfortable room. The trade off for the location is the lack of parking. Two short blocks up the hill turning right into Lincoln street there is unrestricted parking.

The proprietors were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful trip. Would recommend it anyone looking to stay in Lunenberg, especially more than one night. It's so convenient to the waterfront, shops, and restaurants. We stayed three nights and never used our car until we had to leave.

The room was lovely, cool, with a fridge to keep cool drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a breakfast option for $10 and it was delicious...scrambled eggs, croissant, yogurt and fruit cup and coffee. They helped us unload our luggage as we have mobility issues and showed us pictures of Lunenburg at different times of the year. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Center of town. Easy walkability to shopping and dining.

Very nice to be so close to waterfront and the building has so much history attached to it.

Room was clean and comfortable. There was an elevator. Situated in downtown with closeness to shopping and restaurants. Parking after 5 was free and convenient.

The property was a great location to everything. We parked our vehicle and walked everywhere for two days. We didn’t want to drive anywhere for fear we would lose our spot. They have limited spaces and it’s not on the property but across the street. We checked out early and drove across the bay to get a few pictures before leaving town. My only other complaint is having to order a breakfast the night before (we didn’t do this) but was told they could make us toast and coffee for $10.00😳 We had a king bed room with a very comfy bed, hot shower with great pressure on the second floor and was really quiet.

Great locale for walking to everything & spacious room.. Bed was confortable but sheets a bit rough as starting to “pill”… Ugly brown carpet throughout and only 4 close parking spots.

Enjoyed our view overlooking the harbour. We walked to a brewery around the harbour and enjoyed an evening of live music. Parking is on the streets.

Beautiful views in a classic older building. The room is generous, although the bathroom is a bit tight, but clean and well maintained. Very close to all the restaurants and sights you can easily walk to.

What you would expect in an inn that’s 145 yrs old Wright downtown minutes from everything a true taste of Lunenburg NS Pam and Gary

Check in quick and easy, with help to find parking, property very dated although clean. No housekeeping after day one. Weren’t advised of this. Great location however pricey for what you get.

The staff (older woman) was rude. Her attitude tainted the whole experience at the hotel. The good: Great location; clean (but dated) bathroom; basic bathroom amenities which many small hotel operators don’t provide anymore; Air-con (loud unit, but better than nothing. The bad: stains on the sheets — needs replacement; scuffs on the walls; dated accommodations; hot water takes a while to heat up, but it does get hot. The shower is a corner plastic stall, so if you’re a big person, showering would be tight. Given the hotel’s location, some update/renovation could make it very charming but in its current state, it’s just a bed for the night. If you’re working in hospitality, you’d think there’d be effort to be welcoming and friendly. Not a repeat for me, especially at this price point.

Such a unique property in a beautiful village. The rooms were very clean and the place is well kept. The best part is the owner. Such a kind and wonderful host. He provided great suggestions on the local sites and the background of Lunenburg. Would love to visit again and would definitely stay again.

A bit aged in appearance but very, very comfortable at this time of year. We did not need it but wondered if there is any air conditioning in the summer.

Building is in need of some updating. Stained carpeting, broken window and a noisy AC that wouldnt shut off automatically. Took us a while to locate a clerk.when we arrived. Great location.

Parking availability is a bit tenuous. It is on-street parking so you have to search for a spot. But given that you are right in the heart of the town, it is perfectly located so you can walk practically everywhere. A/C functions well. Elevator works, but is a bit slow. Bed was comfy. Daily maid service. Great place to stay.

The inn is perfectly located for a stay in Lunenburg, walking distance to everything. The room was air conditioned and well maintained. The hosts were welcoming and kind. All this plus a very comfortable king size bed and a harbour view!

The property was located in down town Lunen urg, perfect for walking , shopping and dining. The staff were very friendly. The elevator was broken and we were on the third floor !

Quality at a reasonable price

Great hotel right on the Main Street. It was helpful for them to reserve a place for me to park. Lunenburg is very crowded with tourists and parking is at a premium. Nice room with a comfortable bed. Lots to see and do in town and this was an excellent location

great location and clean rooms

Place is ok for 1 night. Central location but finding parking close by can be a challenge. Asked for late checkout and was denied even though jute had the vacancy sign showing rooms available. The young man who checked us in was very polite, but the female lady the next morning was not.

Beautiful little spot close to everything.

Because of the fire in the South Coast of Nova Scotia, we accidently fell into Smuggler's Cove but, boy, were we lucky. Hosts were the owners of the Inn and they made our stay memorable. Only place to stay in Lunenburg.

A Peaceful Stay with Gorgeous Views

Quaint, friendly, and close to shopping. It was such a relaxing night. I booked for my birthday to watch the sunrise and sunset. The room was clean and quiet. The water gets really hot. For a small fee, I was fixed a simple breakfast. Should I visit the area again, I'd definitely stay again.

Power went out overnight and was not informed until I tried turning on the lights in the morning. All my medication in the fridge was spoiled and had to be discarded. No emergency lights were available until later in the morning (interior of the building was pitch-black). Owners were present in the morning - and no concession were offered for the inconveniences caused. We came in from out of town - so the lack of medication really made the rest of our journey uncomfortable.

The location of the Inn was great. It was close to restaurants and shopping. Very quiet. The internet connection wasn’t great and the tv didn’t work maybe due to internet issues. There are areas with 2 or 3 stairs so not 100 accessible.

The lady who owns the property was very nice to deal with.
