Avoid

Not as advertised. Was supposed to have a sea view from our room. Had two windows in our room. One was a skylight and the other was looking into the property next door. Unsafe stairs to get to our room. WiFi kept dropping. Smell of smoke from the fire in our room which lingered on our clothes for the rest of our trip in South Africa. Breakfast was poor, stale crackers, dried out fruit. Ordered the flapjacks which came with maple syrup and was told they had run out of maple syrup. On check in we were given a tour of the hotel, asked if we would like to reserve a table for dinner, we said we would. Asked which table we would like, picked it (beside the fire). Came to dinner at our reserved time and our table was giving away. Giving a table in a draft so spent our meal freezing. No apologies made by staff but had the cheek to ask for a tip when paying.

This hotel is beautifully designed and maintained. The dinning room has wonderful views over the bay. The quality of the food and its presentation are outstanding.

Disappointed

Great potential but disappointing. At check in, we were brought to 4 different rooms - one of which was occupied, before being brought to the correct room. This was okay and we were given a bottle of wine as an apology and offered welcome drinks in our room. The drinks did not arrive, we had to go downstairs after waiting for an hour. The room was lovely and we had been left chocolates however it was noisy - I think there may have been some sort of machine directly under our room? Sounded like a washing machine. Dinner was on the pricier side but nice and service at dinner good. Breakfast service wasn’t great, we were directed to a table then had to ask for a menu and coffee after 10 minutes of waiting. Our order was taken and then was wrong when it arrived. We were not asked how our stay was at check out. We still had a lovely time but compared to some of the other fantastic hotels we have stayed in along the garden route, this one was disappointing.

FANTASTIC stay

WOW WOW WOW! What a GORGEOUS property! The view of Plettenberg Bay from our room and the pool area cannot be matched. The hotel is unique and special and the service was fantastic from all staff. Warm, friendly greetings from every single person we met, and no request was too much. The food was delicious, the bed was comfortable , the room was gorgeous. A MUST stay if going to Plett.

On the hill top with amazing views.

The hotel was lovely, had previously been for a wedding but hadn’t stayed the night. We have lovely large room with a large outdoor terrace. The view over Lookout Beach from the dinning area and up the river are beautiful. Had the calamari and chicken burger for dinner and they were good.

Magnificent location. Staff were pleasant and courteous. We came to the restaurant before it was officially open for breakfast, but it was not a problem and we ordered and were served efficiently.

A pleasant property

A nice stay with good facilities. Front of house staff were very pleasant but waiting staff were quite rude at times. Food was not 5 star, more average to good. Everything else was fine and if you want a more pleasurable stay simply book into other significantly better restaurants in the area.

Amazing views!

We had an incredible stay at Sky Villa. The views are unbelievable and the pool/bar area along with the restaurant are phenomenal. Gorgeous blue pool and great gardens. The rooms are clean and perfectly located with views from the balcony. Service was good. Overall a fantastic stay. Will be back.

SMALL TOWN GLORY

The internet does NOT do this place justice. 😍 It’s by far one of the best places with an AMAZING VIEWS on the Garden Route. I must say the breakfast was under whelming, they didn’t have muesli and the juice quality was not so great. Upon check-out payment had not been allocated and this was a bit annoying as payments usually come through IMMEDIATELY when booking through the app.

Villa of Dreams

This was our first time at Sky Villa - but certainly not our last. From the moment we arrived we felt special - all the staff go out of their way to go the extra mile, the actual hotel is pristine, the room is spacious and comfortable and the views are to die for! The finer details were certainly noticed and the general atmosphere makes you want to stay there and never leave - despite all the other surrounding attractions. We cannot wait to return soon!

Beautiful property, lovely staff, great views. BUT, management needs to train the staff who, with the best will in the world, can't be expected to know the expectations of people paying hundreds of dollars per night for a room in a generally low-cost area. It should have been wonderful, and it wasn't, by far.

Top notch service

Sky villa has breath taking views, had so much fun staying there. The stuff was always on our service, they pay attention to finer details everything was just top notch.

The best place to stay at Plettenberg

We enjoyed every second of our stay. The hotel itself could be an art gallery. The staff were professional and very friendly. We had Stunning views from our room. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. They even have a Nespresso coffee machine in the rooms also the WiFi was the best. The food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent which was completed by the beautiful view of the ocean from the restaurant. We tried lots of accommodation in South Africa and this one was the best.

Designer boutique hotel

Amazing contemporary designer boutique hotel with only 14 rooms. Attentive service made us feel very special. Nice pool area and views over the bay

Beautiful design and attention to detail make everything about this place wonderful. But without doubt the best feature is the staff. So friendly and helpful they really make you feel at home. The rooms are all you could want for and the views are spectacular. Loved it to bits.

This was a really nice surprise on our trip of the garden route, welcoming staff that couldn’t do enough for us, clean decent size rooms and amazing views for a sundowner. Great location with access to loads of sights and activities etc. Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous hill top hotel over looking the bay

Amazing boutique hotel with gorgeous views and wonderful staff. Comfortable room with AC, spacious bathroom with a view and a private balcony with ocean views. The bed was perfect for both my wife and I. The staff made sure we had everything we needed.

New hotel, fantastic view over the bay, very good,

Excell not staff; fabulous room and en suite. Setting is brilliant, out of town with a view over the whole bay; try to get room with full. Jew; restaurant also very pleasing; very enjoyable stay.

So much potential but so disappointing

The hotel was lovely. The service was horrendous and with the exception of one waiter the staff were clueless. On our first night we went to the restaurant for dinner. It wasn’t late and they told us they’d run out of bread for appetiser, 2 couples came in after is and were given bread. The waitress told me they had no local gin and she couldn’t remember what international gin they had. I asked her for a menu and they did have local gin. We had to order or 4th choice wine. The food tasted bland. Every morning the breakfast service was so so slow.l and took on average 80mins each morning. The staff ignored customers. On one morning our waitress disappeared for 10 mins to get a note pad to write down our 1 hot food order. We went back again for dinner a few nights later to give it a 2nd chance. I was recommended the beef short rib. It arrived and was cold in the middle, the fat was solid and cold but had been cooked. I asked the waiter what was going on and he told me it was cooked in the morning and reheated. I was really disappointed that this was the case given the amount of great food and service in the area. We did get our meal for free though as the waiter called the manager and explained our complaint. This place is a lovely hotel but is so far off being ready to provide the experience and service the location and building deserves. Food and service levels along the garden route are fantastic and we were so disappointed that this place let the area down.

Only a stopover

Lovely friendly staff, great service. Only a stopover so can’t comment on facilities. Pool looked nice though. Fab wine cellar.

Wish we were staying longer!!! Stunning hotel in a stunning location. Staff were fantastic. Sad I only booked 1 night while following the garden route to Capetown

Fantastic!

This one's easy to review as a perfect 5/5 since I couldn't fault my stay in an ocean view room. A welcome tray of cheeses, biscuits, fruit and nuts was laid out but my eyes were already drawn to the view of the bay. The balcony was almost as big as the room and was furnished with parasol, lounger, chairs and table. It was honestly tempting just to call room service and not move. The public areas of the hotel were well worth checking out, though. By day it was easy to appreciate the colourful and well tended gardens, by night the pool deck area was attractively lit and the fairy lights in the trees outside reception looked great. The bar looked (and actually was) very welcoming, and the restaurant staff served up a delicious dinner in an attentive and good humoured way. Literally the only false step during my stay was at check in when I was told my room wasn't completely paid for. This was of course an easily checked mistake. I would/will stay here again and recommend the Sky Villa Boutique Hotel without any hesitation.

O hotel mesmo só tem um bloco . Os demais são anexos de acomodações e na que ficamos tinham 6 quartos embaixo e 2 em cima . A escada para esses 2 quartos é surreal, íngrime e sem condições para idoso ou crianças . Perigosa. O quarto não tem frigobar e são muito pequenos e quentes . E junto com 4 acomodações do piso inferior compartilham geladeira e forno . Pedir um upgrade p apartamento térreo o q me foi concedido é paguei a diferença . Este quarto de baixo completo é grande e acomoda 4 pessoas mas com 1 banheiro só . É bonita a área. Mas percebi que somente o hotel é 5 estrelas . Os anexos não .

Charmant hôtel avec vue sur la baie de Plettenberg, chambres confortables et bien équipées, très bon restaurant pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner aussi et bon spa également, personnel très aimable et serviable. Seul point négatif: de nouvelles unités sont en construction, ce qui occasionne pas mal de bruit tôt le matin.

Une merveilleuse découverte ❤️❤️❤️

Nous y avons passé 2 nuits. L’hôtel est splendide, à dimension humaine. Le repas est délicieux et le personnel aux petits soins. Nous étions a la chambre 216 et le petit bémol est que notre chambre donnait sur la blanchisserie ( on entendait l’essorage de la machine tôt le matin et jusqu’à un petit tard) mais nous avons tout de même adoré notre séjour. Les massages de Lorette sont exquis.

Good place to stay located outside the city center. Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Restaurant is good and recommended but not yet on point.

Dit hotel is de waard om te verblijven. Prachtige ligging, zeer vriendelijke mensen en een top keuken. Bij onze volgende Gardentour zullen we zeker hier weer verblijven.

Einzigartiger Blick über die Bucht der Plettenberg Bay!

Das Hotel ist schön auf einem Hügel gelegen und bietet eine super Aussicht ins Grüne wie auch aufs Meer. Deluxe-Zimmer sind gross, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das Personal war grundsätzlich freundlich, jedoch beim Frühstück träge beim Servieren, obwohl es mehr Personal als Gäste gab. Beim Check-In schien das Hotel nicht ganz so organisiert. Alles in allem ein gutes Hotel, jedoch kriegt man nie den Service wie bei einem „Guesthouse“ in Südafrika.

Eine tolle Zeit in Plettenberg

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in Hotel. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr (!!) freundlich und aufmerksam. Beim Frühstück wäre es manchmal schön gewesen wenn noch besser darauf geachtet worden wäre das Brot, Saft etc rechtzeitig aufgefüllt werden bevor der Gast danach fragen muss. Alles war sehr lecker, wir haben manchmal aber über 30 Min. Auf die Eierspeisen warten müssen. Unser Dinner abends war zweimal wirklich klasse. Kleine Speisekarten sind oft vorteilhaft, allerdings hätten wir uns über 2,3 Auswahlmöglichkeiten mehr sehr gefreut und dann hätten wir bestimmt auch ein drittes Mal Abendessen im Hotel eingenommen. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt In einem sehr hübschen Hotel mit wunderschöner Aussicht und liebevollen Mitarbeitern.

Das Hotel ist sehr modern eingerichtet, die Zimmer sind riesig und man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Die Lage mit Blick auf die Plettenberg Bay ist wunderschön. Der Service ist sehr gut und freundlich. Einziges, kleines Manko war, dass unser Zimmer an der Lobby lag und diese sehr gehallt hat.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans la chambre "honey moon". La chambre était très spacieuse, avec une déclaration moderne et une cheminée qui fonctionnait parfaitement. L'hôtel dispose d'une vue imprenable sur la mer, avec un magnifique toit terrasse mais aussi une grande terrasse au pied de l'hôtel. Le personnel a été particulièrement attentif tout au long du séjour. Le petit déjeuner inclus était très correct.
