Very old mostly run down...very suprised about ither reviews... The room had an odor.

We frequent Hope to visit family but decided to try a different hotel this trip. Cute little place, close to the playground and shops, quiet. Far enough away from the highway so traffic doesn’t bother you. We will be back in the fall and book here again!

This property is quiet, clean and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are updated. A great place to stay!

Enjoyed the quiet of the place easy to walk around down town core. Reason for the average rating was we booked on line needing two beds with a kitchenette for my senior parent who has mobility issues. Upon arriving we were given the key to a small room with a single bed. returning to the office they quickly corrected the mistake by giving us a new room key, this one two beds and still no kitchenette. Returning a third time we got another room key and entering this room two beds but still no kitchenette. I gave up then and just up packed for our two day stay.

I really enjoyed my stay here. After a painful surgery had us stopping unexpectedly this place was quick to check in, easily accessible for me on crutches, staff were polite and helpful. Place was peaceful & quiet. Beds were clean, and our dog was very comfortable. Highly recommend & will for sure stay here again.

Great price to value

Needed a basic and simple hotel steak for the evening and this more than checked that box. I highly recommend this place for delivering the service at its price point.

Friendly staff, and we stayed in a king room in a new building. We could see more new buildings being built so expansion is in the works. Nice clean room, comfortable bed and modern facilities. Great stay.

Hidden Gem

Great little place to stay. Very clean and the room looked brand new. Would definitely stay there again. My only suggestions would be to have either Larger towels or more towels and to have a nightstand on both sides of the bed.

A traditional motel (circa 1960's) within walking distance of downtown with dinning and shopping. Very quiet and affordable. They are building new rooms to expand the operations

Great stay for the family

This motel is clean and quiet. However, that is THE WORST bed I have ever attempted to sleep on. It was so hard my back is now very painful. Don’t think I’ll be back.

The motel has been freshly renovated, so everything is brand new. It's located in a very quiet area.

Away from the downtown area, but still walkable to nice sit down restaurant. Room was completely renovated, and property was very quiet.

My husband has been driving for hours and was getting in very late—and they weee very accommodating. 🙂

The building was new and well maintained

Newly renovated rooms at the Skagit Motel, we stayed in Sepember 2024. Super clean (brand new?) and very quiet and well-insulated from noise in adjoining rooms. Very comfortable beds, yay! The Skagit is in a quiet residential neighborhood, just a few blocks walk to Hope city center. Just the basics, motel-wise, and not very impressive from the street. Clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Clean. Old fashioned motel, but renovated. Microwave, refrig. Glass cups. Quiet, off main street, no one upstairs or either side. Friendly family operation. One consideration if you’re sensitive to strong laundry fragrance: bedding is strongly scented. Overall, a very nice motel.

This is a clean, well managed hotel, nice rooms with fridge and small freezer. Good place for travelers to stay.

The room was nice and updated. Lots of plug ins which is unusual these days! The only complaint was there was only 1 small lamp and the overhead lights were really bright. Also, the website said there was a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker but our room had no microwave.

The renovations have continued to improve the motel. I stay there each time I travel from home to the West Coast. They are doing an expansion at this time, reducing the star value of the 'area'. There's a beautiful big park a block away, as is the Fraser River. The local shops are also close, and the Blue Moose makes excellent coffees, pastries, and tasty goodies to enjoy there, or to take on the road!

It is an excellent option for travelers with different destinations as it is located near the highway and yet in a very nice and peaceful street surrounded by trees.

There were no glasses offered or available. Front desk said crime in the area not good. Also I asked to be not in a room At end of building and they did not accommodate.

Spent one night here recently, and had a lovely updated room, clean, with a comfortable mattress, large bright bathroom. Motel has such a sweet vintage vibe, and staff was helpful.

Stayed at other hotels in Hope in the past and this one is definitely the better so far. Rooms are renovated and clean, staff is friendly and is away from the main road, soo quiet. Bed is decent and air conditioning was blowing cold. Overall I had a good sleep and would come back again in future travels if going by Hope.

The room was good for its price. The door lock was loose and the carpets should have been cleaned a little better. It was quite and convenient.

If you're looking for a clean, quiet place to spend the night, this is for you! A couple blocks off the main highway, nice and clean, with beautiful flowers... And something that made me happy, the toilets are tall enough I don't scream when I squat! (Those in my age bracket will understand)

Very nice older motor hotel. Some construction in the parking lot but didn't cause any possibles accessing my room.

Would definitely stay here again. Location is a block or two from downtown so it was nice and quiet, but still walking distance to stores and restaurants. Units have been upgraded and are fresh & clean. Beds were very comfortable and extra pillows too. Staff were courteous and helpful and there is lots of parking.

Staying at the Skagit was great when we were on holidays. The Skagit is one of the better hotels to stay at when visiting Hope.

It’s a gem…..extremely clean and upgraded rooms that really leave nothing to be desired save for a restaurant. That said, it is situated only a few minutes walk from main street Hope. If you are travelling through the area and want an affordable place to stay, I really can’t imagine finding a nicer place to do it. Well done to the owners and staff!

The motel is quite old skool in its ambience. Clearly well cared for, nicely tended gardens. Hope is a neat small city, very walkable, nice scenery, and the area this motel is located is quiet. I enjoyed my stay.

Recently renovated and spotless - run by a family who were very pleasant. would book here again anytime. Older style drive right up to door of your room (my preference) but recently renovated with care.

Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The owners clearly take a lot of pride in maintaining their property. I would happily stay there again!

Good enough for the price

Hope in Hope BC

Our stay was mostly enjoyable. Check-in was fast, easy and correct. Rooms where vary clean and new. No stairs to worry about here. The one thing that moved this from a 5 star to a four was the beds. One slanted to the middle badly and the other only a little. Other then that, We would recommend this property.

There was coffee machine, coffee , fridge/ freezer, microwave & hair dryer. Bed firm n comfortable. Adequate storage. Bathroom very clean; water pressure in shower adequate. We arrived late n asked direction to an eatery. Motel personnel directed us even though it was late.

I had to pay more than quoted on Expedia. He had some sort of vague/odd explanation for why that was, it didn’t make sense but I was too tired to press it.

Terrible

To say that the room (#108) appeared worn and dated would be a significant understatement. Everything in the room, except for the television, was way past its prime and was worthy of being discarded. The carpet was so stained that I would have believed that oil sands workers had used the room for changing out of their filthy work clothes and boots. The bed, however, was comfortable and the linen appeared to be fresh and clean. The bathroom was sparsely supplied with the usual toiletries and there was not enough for both my wife and I. Overall, I would recommend that you stay away from this place. I certainly will never be going back there.

a nice quiet place and first rate staff and owners

We stayed for just 1 night as a family on our way through town. The motel was nothing special, but certainly was fine for a quick overnight. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable and the area was safe and walkable. All in all it was a fine place to stay for the evening.

One time stay.

It’s a neat and clean motel. Nothing more to it. At $220 a night, the price doesn’t match the property features. I would choose a proper hotel with amenities for that price. The hosts are pleasant and welcoming.

Good value for a one night stay. Access to kitchen facilities is a plus. While not fancy, it was just what we needed. Having a/c on the night we were there was a plus.

We chose this because of the great reviews, and we were not disappointed. It's a motel, but I would totally stay here again if in Hope.
