Cleanliness could have been better, and property can use some upgrades. But overall decent stay
Thought I booked a water view. Turns out I have a wall two feet out my window. Toilet broke and unusable. Book elsewhere. So disappointed.
location was great.
Amazing place, will be back
It was a beautiful setting! The bed and pillows were lovely. We just had a very restful sleep. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We are looking for another visit there.
We loved our stay. The ocean was calm most days to enjoy a leisurely swim. My husband used the gym facilities 4 times but he was disappointed that the resort fee did not include free gym access.
This place is fantastic in every way
2nd time staying at this property. I would definitely recommend and stay again.
Everything was nice
Loved it.
Safe area
I would definitely stay again at this property. The taxis from the airport is 15$ per couple or 7$ each if you are in a group. It takes about 10 minutes or up to 1 hour if you arrive during traffic. Our room was ready when we arrived at 1:00 pm. We had a 1 bedroom suite, oceanfront, great room. Our view was on the marina and airport, it is a nice view although a little too congested with boats that are parked there. The water is clear and perfect for swimming, the beach is nice, it gets very crowded after 09:00, but there’s always a place for a chair. We had the breakfast buffet package and it was worth it. All the restaurants on the resort are good and prices compare with other restaurants in the area. We didn’t try the Bovine steakhouse. The water at restaurants is pricey, 7$ per bottle. The tap water is good, and that is what we drank for the entire week.
I like the room, the views, the beach was beautiful. The staff was overly welcoming and kind.
Excellent resort with great service and food!
Staff is very professional and accomodating during my entire stay.
The resort is enormous and also very hilly. We had rented a car and we really only used it to get around the resort since my wife has a knee issue. The beaches and pools were nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice place to stay.
Tired property, somewhat unfriendly, poor dining options, felt like a 2/3 star resort
I enjoyed my stay at Simpson Bay. The food options were satisfying. Especially the steakhouse! My mom enjoyed her spa treatment. The beach was relaxing. The water was calm and warm. Great drink specials on the beach. The supermarket and casino are nearby. The room was like a studio apartment with all of the necessary amenities. I would stay here again.
All
Loved our stay!
Our stay was excellent. Great place for families and children.
Great location & friendly service.
Short walk to the beach. Very nice for a short visit
They have a nice restaurant
A fair place to stay.
Place could use a renovation. Many of the staff were very unfriendly. But some were nice. There are many amenities to use which is nice and the bed was comfortable. They have a ridiculous 4pm check in with a 10 am check out policy. It's a time share property so there is no real incentive for the staff to go out of there way.
Beautiful location and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were hard and lumpy. I had to use my travel pillow in order to sleep. If they would invest in quilted mattress pads and new pillows, this would be a 5-star location.
The room was good, even though tv’s were outdated. The hotel consisted of different buildings and the area between the different buildings was very bad.
Room was infested with mosquitos. One of the mosquito bites left a rash on my left hand. Front desk couldn’t change rooms without a manager present. Had to wait hours for the manager to arrive. Manager gave me the runaround. Initially only wanted to have housekeeping fumigate which I politely declined (as the room should’ve been fumigated prior to my arrival). The 2nd room they put me in was dirty (money still on bed to tip housekeeping, towels on floor). Had to be placed in a 3rd room. Wasted hours of precious time & energy moving luggage to different hotel rooms. Another manager called my room 2x to try to speak to me but at that point, the damage was done. Resort is 3 stars at best. A bit rundown. Good location though. Amazing happy hour. Loved the beach bar staff. Wouldn’t recommend
Convenient. Transportation was accessible at all times.
Unique and beautiful. Lovely resort and area.
Simpson Bay. Location good. Food was meh and expensive. Our room was M211. Great location to beach and around resort. German roach on day one in bathroom which was concerning since our room was directly above steakhouse. Didn’t see anymore throughout stay. People would walk by and bang on our bedroom window as a prank because it faces outside walkway. Didn’t like that. Could never get cash. WiFi sucked. Went and bought their $40 card for 2 devices. It didn’t work. Went to complain and front desk girl has major attitude. Waste of $40. Beach was good. Waitresses outside were amazing. They came to clean room. Didn’t wipe countertops at all in kitchenette. Property is just ok but wouldn’t stay here again.
Over five days I barely had dial-up Internet for more than a few minutes. Be sure to download anything you might want to watch before you come. They said the provider was having issues but my friends on the island had great service. I called the resort in October to ask if the gym would be open Christmas and Boxing Day, they said yes. They didn’t mention it was six dollars extra per person per day if we wanted to use the gym. One morning the towels had not arrived from the cleaner so we could use the beach because we didn’t have towels. The room cleaner was inconsistent. One night the toilet didn’t flush and we used a coffee pot with water to fill the bowl. We paid almost 500 a night, I expected a more quality experience. Some of the staff were friendly, most ignored us. When we checked out, mind you without uttering any grievances, there was no thank you, etc. The location is great, and there’s a supermarket across the street. Tons of awesome restaurants are a 15 minute walk away. It’s also close to the airport. Overall, kind of dissatisfied.
It was lovely and really clean. Most but not all staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurants were good overall. Lots of pools. Weather just perfect. Foliage and grounds well maintained. Not sure if Expedia’s mistake but thought we booked another room. Had to pay an up grade because did have a view originally and was smaller. Felt like a cave. People stake out chairs on Beach about 6 am. Just claim them all by setting out towels even though staff state impermissible. Far from beach with steep hills. Hard for my sister. They have shuttles but tips expected for this and about everything else.
Looks like it needs a bit of Tlc
None
Nice pools and beachfront. Beds were very comfortable. Quiet location, except we were on the ground floor at the marina and the maids/ staff would gather in front of our room in the morning and talk and this would wake us up. Property is on a big hill so lots of walking up and down hill to get to stores and restaurants. Overall a nice place to stay.
The property has a lot of options for dinning the rooms have been upgraded and the staff is nice and accommodating.
Nice pools. Room was good, but not luxurious. Breakfast buffet was good with many options. Great gym. Housekeeping could have been more thorough.
Location.
Expedia pics showed a balcony and our room was enclosed without a balcony. There are better places
At the beach, Mayelin and Metal were fabulous. Great location property and staff overall.
Nice property
Loved it..staff helpful and friendly..everything you need is right there
Close to the beach
Will return very convenient on all levels
I think it’s a little dated. It isn’t bad but it could use a refresh.
We had a discount price and were given a discount room
The beaches and pools are amazing. I would like to see more pool parties. Also, the buffet breakfast is so, so over priced. Great experience overall. Just don’t pay for the buffet breakfast.
Perfect for family stay! Second time staying at Simpson bay and absolutely have loved it. Just a small observation, house keeping needs to do a better job cleaning not just focusing on changing beddings only. Especially the fact that I had my 2 year old toddler with us who just loves being all over the floor! I’m not sure what the policy is about cleaning the shower but was not cleaned for the time we were here.
Simpson Bay Resort is a lovely property. The place is well kept. Pools and beach front are awesome. My family and I ate at a couple of the restaurants on property grounds and they both were great and not overly priced. We also walked to a couple restaurants which were within 10 minutes of hotel. Staff at restaurants and pool bars were friendly. My only small complaint would be that the check in/check out process was a little slow. Took us about 20 minutes to check in and 10 minutes to check out.
It was very clean and the view was amazing. Plenty of walkable dining options. Plenty of parking.
Great accomodations, the resort has a nice view and nice restaurants great location. The roads are abit bumpy on the resort but evrythint is great
The room I reserved was for three persons, but only towels for two provided and the 2 Murphy beds were not made up, but sheets blankets provided. Directions to room not provided and the location was complicated.
There is a uniqueness about the property that I absolutely love. Of all the other properties in the Simpsonbay area, I always come back to this particular resort.
Great resort I’ll be back
Very good location. What I did not like was our room they did not clean after the thirth night, even though we called them to do it.
Wow
Amazing
The hill is alittle rough to walk every one friendly and they do have shuttles to avoid hill. Location is great ! Staff even better !
Resort is beautiful, rooms are clean and updated. Convenient to restaurants and shopping. Staff could be a little more pleasant.
Overall it is a nice resort, quiet and safe, the staff is very friendly and helpful, food on site was delicious. The beach is small but clean. If you’re looking for entertainment and partying this is not quite a place for that. We did not like the fact that the gym was not included in the price of the resort, it was a fee of 6$ I believe. Late check out is 11 am which does not make much difference from their normal 10 am check-out. Whenever it rains or if the floors are cleaned it gets very slippery on the stairwell landing area, I fell there one time but luckily I was not injured. So this is something to watch for.
The property was very nice. I did not like the Hill you had to walk up every time you left the beach.
Only one
We have been back to this property many times and it never disappoints.
Excellent location, pleasant staff and great value.
Great location with lots of convenient amenities.
Excellent stay at this resort.
Great location
The hvac blows directly onto the bed. Pillows are extremely stiff
Looking for a resort that feels homely and quiet surrounded by sand, sea & sun? Then Simpson Bay Resort & Spa is for you! The tranquility, the ambiance and beauty of the compound is worth it! If you don't intend to explore St.Martin or just came to have some peace and quiet you'd definitely love it at Simpson Bay Resort & Spa. The compound has its own Supermarket, Restaurants, Bistro and if you're up for a little razzle dazzle there is also a Casino! All in all of you're thinking of staying here there is nothing to think about just book it! I highly recommend!!
Great location
Convenient location many types of beach options and many pools, nice choice of restaurants all walking distance.
well planned footprint
The cleaning ladies were very nice but the front desk was very slow and the amenities old
awesome spot. very clean & roomy
Great location. Lots of restaurants in the resort or down the road. Grocery store across the street. Full kitchen in the room was great even a blender.
The property doesn't have a shuttle service. You will need to arrange a for a taxi to get to the property. The property can arrange for a taxi to the airport.
Staff was AMAZING and the property is huge! The only downside was they were doing construction. So at times (not often) it was a bit noisy but it wasn’t terrible. I will be booking with them again for my trip next year!
We rented the one bedroom suite and there is nothing to complain about. As you walk in and you also see out the deck it was clean and well supplied. I did not rent vehicle but they do have plenty of parking. The cabs are reasonable to use.
Great sport not far from the action strip. Lovely beach. Wonderful staff. Very convenient location and very close to the airport .
Very big and clean resort, lots to do and great location.
Simpson bay escape
It was very relaxing and chill..A bit of a older crowd however they were nice and pool area empty by sunset
Our stay was very good. The room was well equipped in the kitchen. The housekeeping staff were excellent. Friendly and did a great job.
It was great
Nice room
very good
The ocean view
Overall loved this property and our stay and would recommend. Very clean. Beautiful pools and beaches. Some breakfast service slow, beach towels very limited and unfortunately the marina pool was closed our entire stay which we only found out about upon arrival. Not the property itself but the city roads and area were not as clean as expected. (VERY hilly…walking up cardiac hill was not great on the hot hot days but thankfully they offer a quick shuttle service)
I really love this resort because everything I needed was on the resort. I didn’t need to leave if I didn’t want to. They have a beach, restaurants and a supermarket even though they’re a bit pricey . It’s such an amazing community. The rooms are a bit outdated especially the smaller option. I also did not like the fact the faucets had calcium build up around it.
Have been going 20 yrs Love everything about this place
Lovely
I liked the shuttle buses taking you around the property I didn't like that I paid for a room with 2 beds and only one bed was ready when we checked in. The shuttle bus driver told me that I had to call front desk to prepare the other bed. Since I had no time for that my friend and I ended up sleeping on one bed. According to me when one pays for a room with 2 beds both should be ready when you check in
Only spent 1 night so not enough time to properly assess. The dining at the Bovin restaurant was excellent, our waitress was top notch.
The hotel was clean, staff was polite and friendly, and on the beach. Will definitely come back soon.
Overrated hotel
Very long check-in process. Most of the customers were only allowed to check in at 4pm and reminded of their very strict check out policy at 10am (any extra hour could be charged 100 dollars). Basically you have a bunch of potential activities being offered at the resort but with the short amount of hours that you could spend during your stay, you really can't have a full experience. A shame considering that the hotel is not cheap and it has potential.
Great staff great service great hotel
The staff at Aqua mania were fantastic! The scuba dive crew, especially Tom & Gecko were wonderful
I would stay here again
Close proximity to the restaurants, airport, lovely facilities, great staff!
50 min to check in, (not on the line just because a lot of people) the lady checking us was so slow and left us there waiting, grease plates; curtain in the LR does not close so no black out; the came to fix it, and don't know what are thinking but they remove the one in the bedroom🙄, pool they don't clean around, plastic cups everywhere, the guy that gives you the chairs at the beach, from around 4 pm looks like he wants to go, you don't see a lounge chair, they take all lounge chairs at 5. signs for the pool says that they close at 9pm, if at 6pm they don't see nobody at the pool they close, turn off the lights, and that's it, you still can get in but little dangerous for kids; you won't see nothing; is like they are rushing you to get out..they cancel the boat ride to Anguilla, they said that they "called"( to a room that majority of the time you are out) basically this "resort" is full of s#&t, I know management is gonna say in the review that they have nothing to do with the boat company, but the sell it and advertise it in the resort, actually the boats are in their marina. Don't expect to have any internet either. check out is at 10am
I like the location and easy convinemece.
