You gotta get here! After a week in a decent room in Beijing, this was a spa-like getaway. The place is beautiful and details are well attended to. The staff is great at communicating and can help set up drivers and tours as you are interested. We wanted a calligraphy class ... so they had a local painter come to the hotel and guide us in a private session. Inside the city walls - it was close to everything including the subway (1/2 mile away). The outside courtyards were the perfect place to drink tea and welcome the sunrise or relax with a beer after a long day of touring. The hardest part was finding it. It is tucked away in the back alley amongst art shops and such. It would not pull up on my iPhone map.
