Room is outdated. Bathroom is very small. No safe in the room where you can secure your valuables. However location is good. Only a 6 min walk to Shinjuku station and the main areas. Also practically right next to a 7-11 and Family Mart.
Very convenient to go around. Great for family stay.
Very spacious compare to other accommodations in Japan
This is a basic Japanese style hotel. Fine for my 2 nights. Very convenient to the Golden Gai area of Shinjuku. Room was small and clean. Difficulty was with everything in Japanese. Even the labels on the TV remote and remote for the AC and heat. There is an info book in the room, but in Japanese. Do they not get any English speaking tourists,I wondered?
good
Nice hotel with nice staffs
A nice traditional hotel in the center of Shinjuku.
Located just 3 minutes from Shinjuku Sanchome Exit E1. However, note that getting to Exit E1 is another 400 metres from the metro tracks. Some reviews said that the hotel is old, which i do not quite agree. It is not modern, but it is OK and i do not any issues, everything was functional and clean. Front desk staff greets everyone who passes by (although i would rather they leave me alone, hehe). They even allowed me to leave my luggage after checked-out, as i have a night flight. Room is small, but you get what you paid for. Do not expect to pay peanuts and expect a 5-star hotel room standard. Overall, nice and clean hotel which serves the basic needs and without much amenities.
The staff was really nice and helpful
best hotel ever, staff were great
Staff was very nice an pleasant
Staff were very kind
Location is what this hotel is all about, as it is only a few blocks from Golden Gai. The trek to Shinjuku-Chrome is a little farther down the road, but it still isn’t all that bad. Also, place has one of the best ramen spots in all of Tokyo… seriously, I ate there every night. As for the staff, fantastic and very friendly all the way!! I love this place, and I would definitely stay again.
Very efficient check in. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms a bit outdated, but value for money that was fair. Quite spacious, loved being able to open the window for fresh air as with most hotels in Japan. Very good with my luggage and helping me get a taxi. Overall a convenient, affordable and adequate hotel. 🏨
Was right by golden gai and had food nearby. Staff was kind and accommodating
There were stains on the wall like tea/coffee had been spilt. Room 903. Air conditioner worked well. Fine otherwise.
We book suite and very large room, clean, have kitchen, sink, microwave, refrigerator...good for family or group of friends. Will book again.
Very basic and should t be your first choice
We booked this due to an error for the amount of days we had in Tokyo. We needed one extra night on short notice and with credit this was available at a low cost price. We arrived soaking wet but got very little compassion. We got charged a supplement on our room for which I had very little energy to fight as we were tired and wet. The rooms haven’t been decorated since the 90s and the mattresses have seen more action than most of the love hotels in Shinjuku, there was dirt visable on the walls and they could have added sauna to the facilities as the room was so hot and stuffy. It’s very basic and very old, but is well located.
Ok for overnight
Average hotel in convenient location
Quiet, great location, perfect spot for my last night in Tokyo.
Super convenient location & amenities, staff is friendly & helpful. Area is a bit noisy but that’s to be expected. Hotel has some minor wear & tear but has all the necessities. Will definitely stay again if I return to Kabukicho!
Lovely staff - very thoughtful! Great, central location. Easy check-in and out.
The property is a bit old, but the staff is personable, and the amenity is great. It is conveniently located by Shinjuku Sanchome station and many shops and restaurants. I was out all day so needed a place to sleep and shower. The only unfortunate thing was that I could hear people laughing or running, I believe, in the next building. Fortunately, it wasn't all the time and didn't go on late into the night. (I was on the 9th floor. )
everything was good
An older property absolutely. Decent sized rooms with a small bathroom. Very pleasant staff.
No laundry within the hotel. However, there is one nearby 5 minutes walking. Very simple to use even for foreigners. Had options to wash and dry at the same time. Property details didn’t state hair dryer but it did include one.
The hotel was quite.Considering the area I felt safe. The staff was very respectful. They greeted us every day . Next to a 7-elevan very convenient.
Staff friendly and helpful but the property is in dire need of renovation. Plenty of amenities provided which is nice, however the old rooms and ancient televisions, peeling wallpaper and Moulding bathrooms makes it a last resort stay. Tolerable for one night, perhaps two at a stretch.
clean hotel
Very convenient location to the Shinjuku station. Not really like a hotel and more like a vacation rental. Spacious by Tokyo standards, but not as clean as a hotel.
Staff are amazing! They helped me when I mistakenly booked the wrong room at no cost and they made me feel safe all the time. Thanks!
I had a nice stay here! There were a few thoughtful touches which were very sweet, and the staff were very nice. This is a very expensive area, so Shinjuku Urban Hotel is a nice option with good amenities and a safe atmosphere.
It is an old fashioned business hotel, almost retro feel to it.But it is kept very clean and my single room was roomier than newer hotels. The mattress was a bit saggy and I hope it will be replaced soon. The bathroom was very compact, but very clean and I loved the retro tile on the wall. Overall, it is located in a very convenient location with good dining, izakaya and bar options. If you are looking for a good value for a price, this is it.
decent and clean
The staff and facilities are very competent for the price offered. The room is clean and staff are easy to approach. I had no troubles during my stay and happy to use the hotel as a base. In terms of convenience, it is a bit of a walk from Shinjuku station and depending on the path you take you may pass through Kabukicho, where you might run into many touts on your way to the hotel. This is not the fault of the hotel, but something to be aware of. Overall am happy with the accommodation and would recommend.
+ Staff were very helpful + Good location for nightlife - Rooms are small, but I guess that's standard in Tokyo - Water pressure is too weak - Not sure why, but have to give reception staff my room key card whenever I exited
Great hotel..good service and staff try hard with their limited English. Only thing is you can't have guests over.
A decent stay in a slightly tired but obviously loved property. Very pleasant staff, so helpful even if not able to communicate easily in English. A place to sleep and not much else.
The location is very strategic close to a very busy street yet quite and close to JR also 7/11 market is just next to the hotel
Beyond excellent service, nice spatious rooms with amenities.
nice place for stay
It is very old but not far from train station and we had the huge room relatively cheap.
In between two subway station, easy to walk to even with a luggage, safe area, staff very helpful and nice, clean room
Mixed Experience
Borders a nightlife / red light district so late night/ early morning can have loud street noise. Late checkout requires additional payment. An older property that shows it's age. Good, attentive staff. Clean room.
Great location, great staff. Convenient, comfortable, cozy.
It was a very nice and a cozy place to stay, I highly recommend it.
I can't say enough good things about this property. But I will try. First and foremost the staff are amazing. They went out of their way to accommodate me despite the language barrier. The location is really unbelievable, right in kabukicho, with lots of great food nearby. There's also a 24-hour laundromat nearby. And if you need it there are dry cleaning services nearby as well. It's also really close to a beautiful shrine that is often visited by locals. There's also a variety of convenience stores nearby, alcohol shops, a cinema, lots of nightlife options, and of course Shinjuku station is only a short walk away. I had no trouble getting there from Narita Airport on my first day in Japan. I highly recommend this place.
Decent hotel
It was a place to stay for the night
Great for family stay, excellent location
The hotel may be a bit old and some of the rooms may look rundown, but the room is actually pretty clean and spacious. The location is excellent, easy access to both Shinjuku and Shinjuku sanchome station. In addition, the service is amazing. The staff are all friendly and they will provide you with your requests as much as possible. There was an issue with one of the ACs but the hotel fixed it quickly (there are many ACs so even if one is broken it doesn’t really matter). We needed to extend our stay at this hotel, but the same room we already booked wasn't available on the extended day. So we booked a different room, which meant we would have to pack up and checkout once to move to the other room. Without our knowledge, the hotel actually negotiated with the other guest if we can switch rooms so we don't have to move out of our original room anymore. Talk about hospitality at its finest. There is a bit of noise at night (mostly police cars and ambulances) perhaps because it is right at the edge of an entertainment district. But overall the friendly staff, the nice room, and the great location outweighs the downside unless you would have sleep issues with noise at night.
Nice place
Very good place for me to stay
Excellent location very close to Kabukicho and Golden Gai. The staff here were truly amazing. Everyone was very professional, helpful and friendly.
Acceptable
Acceptible cheap accomodations
Full service apartment hotel.
Did 5 nights stay with family (7 of us, 4 adults and 3 children). Location is about 15 mins walk from main Shinjuku station, at the rowdier Kabukicho district, but it also has a lot of food options and also 24 hours eateries within walking distance. Room layout seems to be converted from an old office unit, but is well equipped with dining area, kitchen, washer and dryer. Everything is comfortable but a touch old and age is showing in everything in the room. Free WiFi is strong and stable. Best thing about the hotel is the excellent and friendly service of the staff. Do not forget to try the wonderful ramen just beside the hotel (the one with the black and white sign)
Spacious and good for family of 4. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free coffee at lobby throughout the day was nice. However, room had stale cigarette smell and the futon beds smelled off cigarettes which made the stay unpleasant. Building sound proofing is not good, can hear ambulance sirens from nearby hospital every night.
Loony and nice for family group. Good location and value.
Room was very simple but spacious. Some of the most friendly staff I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Would stay again!
Super spacious!! Can't believe such a hotel exists in Tokyo! I enjoyed the stay.
The hotel is on a smaller scale so it was not overwhelming. Check in was easy and fast. Our reservation included both traditional, western type rooms and had everything we needed.
Lovely place in Shinjuku
Very large area for a place in Shinjuku, great amenities...perfect for a family. The staff is helpful but their English is pretty basic.
Family stay.
Friendly staff eager to help and assist. Good location. Close to a subway exit.
We were given the highest floor with 2 rooms which came with a living room & kitchen. Spacious for 2 adults & 4 children. The place was cleaned everyday. Reception staff were very polite and helpful. Less than 10 minutes walk to Shinjuku Station. Other than hearing the siren of passing police cars or ambulance every now & then during the night, it was a pleasant stay.
Small, old but with very friendly staff. Room was comfortable.
Nice hotel.
We had a good stay. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and convenience stores. Plus factor is fhe free coffee at the lobby which can be had anytine. Staff were great, spoke english. Rooms were a bit bigger than usual japanese hotel rooms.
Good location, surpsingly spacious room.
The entrance of the hotel is relatively hidden but still easy to find. There's a 7/11 next door and bakery across the road. The hotel itself offers free coffee in the foyer and a microwave to heat meals. The staff may have limited English but are very happy to help. The room we were in was surprisingly spacious with a couch and desk. The location is good with metro entrances very close by. It's about 10mins walk to JR Shinjuku station. It is very close to Golden Gai and there are many options for eating, shopping and entertainment. For our first trip to Japan we we're happy with this hotel.
You can never miss this spacious apartment.
Very valuable hotel. Spacious apartment with three bedrooms, plus dressing room! Clean and spacious. Kitchen is all functions! Can’t imagine it is in Japan Tokyo! Super apartment, staff are nice and friendly! They bow every single time you going up the lift.
Great for a large group
This hotel is in a great location, a short walk from three subway stations and close to the Shinjuku action. The 11th floor is a self-contained apartment. It is very large and could accommodate up to 8 people comfortably, maybe more. 2 large single beds plus a Japanese style room that can hold many futons. The highlight of our stay was the staff. They were so helpful from the moment we checked in, until the moment we left. From making suggestions on local attractions through to lending an umbrella, nothing was too much trouble.
Exceeded my expectations!!
My entire stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the location was perfect for what I was doing while in the area! I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking in the area!!
Surprised to find we got an entire apartment. Extremely good value and very comfortable
Amazing location - in the heart of everything, but still quiet enough to sleep with my window open. Loved everything about this hotel - especially the amazing nice staff. Safe hotel. I will definitely stay here again !!!
Although it is a non-smoking room, you can smell that some one is smoking in the room before. Everything else is fine for this hotel.
Near to Shinjuku
Easy to find the hotel, excellent support from staff, the room is very clean
Great location. Helpful staff.
The hotel is very old and dated. Very noisy. Late night activities
