Awesome hotel staff and location! But the rooms may feel a bit stuffy which the hotel responded by giving a fan. It only helped slightly with the stuffiness.
Great position
Really good position near all the action. Rooms, are small but ok Reataurants & bars very close
Pros: Good location in Shinjuku, overall fairly clean room, comfortable beds. Negatives: - No AC in rooms. Slept terribly as the room was much too hot with poor ventilation (how can a hotel be 4-star and not have AC?) - Tiny room without space to open our suitcase - Poor sound proofing. I could constantly hear people in the hallways and adjacent rooms - Tiny bathroom with the outdated/low-quality "prebuilt bathroom" that are seen in cheaper Japanese hotels. Worst of all, our bathroom constantly reeked of sewage. This was unbearable, and the odour would leak into the room if the bathroom door was left open. While the location is great if you want to spend time in Shinjuku, this should not be considered a 4-star hotel. It is small, cheap and dated and lacks key comforts you would expect for this price.
This hotel is very convenient. Just under 10 min walk to Shinjuku JR station. The only downside is that the rooms are not that soundproof which affects sleep.
I highly recommend this hotel. Great location, close to restaurants and activities, clean, very comfortable and clean rooms. I know several people going to Tokyo and I told them they must stay here! Staff was so very helpful, both checking in and out. When I checked out, the lady helping me, Bell Hayashi, was exceptional - she called a cab for me, helped me plan how to get to the airport-discussing several different options, carried my bags to the cab, and overall was so patient and just wonderful. The hotel is lucky to have her as an employee. 5 Stars to her. I had a great experience at this hotel and would not stay anywhere else, due to the exceptional service here.
Great stay
Great place, great location in shinjuku near everything. The room is very small.
Theres a charged for late checkout, i left at 12PM.
We stayed 7 nights and decided to go with a standard queen room to save money, unfortunately this was not the best idea because the room was very small and had little to no storage - we had to go to IKEA to buy disposable drawers to store our items. If I were alone and stayed for a shorter time, this hotel would be ideal. Other than size and storage, the hotel was good. What we loved was the location with many tourist attractions within walking distance.
Great place and location!
Hester was extremely hot whe it wasn’t even cold outside so I’d feel like if we were in a sauna
Very nice hotel. Price was extremely reasonable.
The staff are very helpful
Out stay is good, location is central. Breakfast during our stay MUST improve as it is repetitious, no new menu. Fruits are mostly canned, fresh orange, fresh banana one whole cut into 3 pieces!!!
Room very small, early check out, zero amenities
Very central for Shinjuku Station. The hotel is part of a complex with restaurants and shops (GU and Meji) in the building.
Room is too small. Breakfast is basic but high priced.
Perfect location to easily get to all the places.
The whole area is vibrant with life. Everywhere are connected with each other.
The hotel was great and close to everything in Shinjuku. The only note is that the rooms are very small, and the in-room bathrooms are very much like cruise ship bathrooms, where you have to step into a bathroom pod/room. The breakfast included was great!
Location is excellent...rooms are spacious. Breakfast is great. The only negative is that the AC is preset to 24 degrees and cannot be changed. It was boiling hot in the room and the only remedy was being offered a fan which did not do the trick. It was extremely hard to get a good nights sleep.
Large room
Excellent location shinjuku area, walkable. Good rooms
Great hotel in Tokyo. Close to everything. The staff were very nice and welcoming.
Great location! Yuka helped us check in
The room services housekeeping makes the beds every day, refreshes new towels, empty the garbage and replenishes 2 new fresh bottled water complimentary on the house every time we came back to the hotel room after out sightseeing in Tokyo. The check-in counter representatives are very polite and very welcoming. The concierge bowed to us all the time until the elevator door closed. What an impeccable, extraordinary hotel and outstanding service !!!!!! Very modern too. WOW !!! I rest my case. Shinjuku Prince Hotel is right next to all tourist attractions. E.I. Kabukicho, Godzilla Road, The 3D Cat Giant Screen and Yasukuni-Dori Avenue. The hotel room has a great amazing "VIEW" of SHINJUKU and the entire City of Tokyo !!!!!!
The central aircon system is shockingly bad! After coming back to hotel from a long day and there’s no aircon. Hotel switch to heating from afternoon onward. We had to ask for a fan cause we switch off the aircon heating system. Room have no window. We stay in the standard double “newly renovated” but doesn’t feel like the room has been renovated. We stayed here 6 years ago hence we want to come back, it was really good back then. But this time around, we stay 4 nights and we did not like it 1 bit
It is in a very inconvenient location, but the rooms are very small. It looked much larger in the picture.
Great location! Friendly staff, clean, comfortable room
The room was small but very clean with great amenities. The location was excellent. Very easy to get around with lots of shopping and night life.
Hashiba was a trainee at the front desk, but she handled my questions and concerns like a professional. This lady was very polite and helpful.
Shoe box room n hardly any space for 3 big luggage to open
good
Front, bell desk, and housekeeping staff were always very nice and attentive. Location is very close to transportations, shopping, restaurants, and etc, so very convenient
Right in middle of Shinjuku!
The location was perfect. Walking disrance to Shinjuku subway and to restaurants, bars, and shopping. However the rooms were extremely small.
Wry busy noisy area
Close to train station and restaurants, bars, etc. lots of shopping choices as well.
Good
Very convenient location, close to shops and train station.
Wonderful service, good location friendly staff. Many shopping and dining options within 15 mins walk.
Great location.👍 Room is small.
Very convenient to everything
In the heart of Shinjuku, and a short walk from Shinjuku station, the Prince offered a quiet retreat after a day touring Tokyo. Room was clean, staff was helpful. We would stay here again
Convenient and about 5mins walk to Shinjuku station.
Great place to stay and super convenient to walk and or take the subway trains. The staff is wonderful and the rooms have great views!
Breakfast was a good option, would suggest to include if traveling fork outside Japan
Great service
Overpriced hotels. Overral the quality, the distance is the same as the hotels nearby but price is much higher. Lots of guess in and out all the time. The hotel is on top of public shopping, dining and metro line as well.
The breakfast restaurant manager has a nasty attitude and is only nice to White people! My room is the most enormous, but it still looks like a two-star hotel! Anyway, I will move on to other new hotels
None
Small room nice location
Location of the hotel was terrific - centrally located with lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance. The room was tiny, hard to fit our 2 large suitcases, but we made due. The bathroom was also small and outdated. Had to step up into the bathroom - felt like it was a cruise ship cabin and bathroom.
It should be listed as a 3 star hotel. Tiny airless rooms and weird design with elevated bathroom that was like a bathroom on a plane.
I’ve been to Shinjuku many times but this is the first stay at the Prince. I loved it. There’s so much to do with it short walking distances. Restaurant, bars and shopping are all close by. The rooms are nice and the staff accommodating. I think I’ve found my new go to place in Tokyo.
The hotel room is very clean.
Great part of town and the hotel incredibly convenient. The biggest issue, while nice and comfy, the room smelled bad and the bathroom worse. I guess that is why they provided spray air freshener to cover. Also, I realized on my last night that the sheets had an unsightly stain. I switched to the other bed. Will find another hotel in the neighborhood next time.
Professional staff, accommodating my needs, Very friendly
Small room but designed so that everything stowed away perfectly and you had heaps of room! Friendly helpful staff, late checkout, and close to endless shopping, restaurants and bars. On top of the entry to Subnade shopping mall which was great!
We actually stayed there 8 years ago and we love it though rooms are quite small but understandable given it’s Tokyo. Very accessible to transport, shop ping & dining with very helpful staff. A laundry facility would be a big plus but other than that we’re very satisfied.😊
Great Location and Clean
The smaller twin room is tiny and inconvenient if you have any luggage. The staff was very helpful and upgraded us to a larger double room which made the stay much better. Shout out to Mr. Kim and Mr. Ogata for great service.
Excellent high end hotel just next to nightlife and shopping. We had a room with 3 beds and an awesome view of Shinjuku and the Godzilla head.
Bathroom smells like sewer pretty bad. The hotel itself smelled
The room was small but very clean and comfortable. Great location
Na
Good location for Shinjuku and the train station. Decent room with three beds which is a rarity in Japan. Good shower. Had a cool view of Godzilla from the 22nd floor. But pricy but paylid for location.
Very good location, facility is old .
Very nice hotel and excellent staff. Breakfast was very good with both American and Japanese cuisine. Never heard any noises from street nor inside the hotel; super quiet. Check in was very easy and Ale Magar, who assisted me, was so helpful. A few minutes from the airport shuttle stop at Tokyo Kabakicho Tower. Will stay in this hotel again!!
We are from Dominican Republic and we wanted to see the nightlife in Shinjuku Tokyo, subway station really close by, the STAFF is amazing! They go over the top to help, they offer the Luggage transfer service BIG HELP! I would stay again!!!!
Dreadful. Ridiculously Tiny Room.
Dreadful stay. Paid an exorbitant price for a ridiculously tiny room with no cupboards. Clothes needed to be hung against the wall on a hangers. Bathroom small. Struggle for 2 people to fit on double bed and to move in such a tiny space. Will never stay here ever again.
The Prince Hotel in Shinjuku is an excellent choice for first-time visitors to Tokyo! Its prime location near Shinjuku Station puts you right in the heart of a bustling shopping hub. While the rooms are compact, they’re thoughtfully designed and offer a unique view of Godzilla. It’s a fun touch that adds to the experience! I highly recommend this hotel for a convenient and memorable stay in Tokyo.
Location is conveniently located close to train stations, however, the area is dirty with trash all over the place. The room we're in is dated, contrary to what our booking says, supposedly renovated room and cleaning staff never cleaned our room/bathroom during our 4 days stay. However, front desk and front entrance staff were very helpful. Breakfast buffet was subpar for the price they're charging compared to other hotels we stayed at, less expensive, appetizing food selection and delicious.
Prince hotel
Room was great and hotel is right in the heart of Shinjuku close to everything you need shop , station , restaurants etc Room size ok and fresh water everyday ( I didn’t use any on site facilities so can’t comment I would very much stay again
Close to the train station.
Dated room and cramped breakfast restaurant but helpful staff, clean and in an unbeatable location for exploring Shinjuku.
Close to everything. great for night life. Great food options, that part of the city never sleeps. What I loved most was there was batting cages near by
Japan vacation
Impecable cleanliness, very pleasant and welcoming staff. Room was nice size, had everything I needed, quiet nice view from windows. Pleasant daylight and very convenient location near train statio and multiple stores and restaurants.
Location was convenient and close by the shopping centers and train stations. Room was clean and well maintained. Had a great experience with Shinjuku Prince Hotel.
Location.
I had an excellent stay at this Hotel! From the staff to the location, everything was excellent! I will definitely stay there again.
Clean, convenient hotel with large comfortable room and a fantastic view of Godzilla in Shinjuku. Fabulous breakfast. Outstanding staff who really helped me out. Late check out until 2 pm. Great stay.
Avoid this hotel if you can. Smell is pretty bad on the hallway and inside the room. Washroom is extremely small. Also you can hear people talking next door and when they open the door it feels like they are opening your room door. Bed is very small too.
The room is cramped. It made us feel like we're in a cruise ship room. No room to move around.
We just loved staying here - location outstanding above station access and so close to ear streets and shopping - staff lovely too
This is my favorite hotel in Tokyo. Large rooms, very clean and very quiet which is surprising since it is located in Shinjuku the entertainment center in the city. Wonderfull staff speak English and assist in every way. They even deliver a newspaper to my room every day at no charge. Excellent breakfast Buffett in morning. This should be considered a four star hotel.
Great stay and friendly staff
Red light district . Heavy crowds,
Loud busy streets. Red light district. Hard to get around with crowds

Rooms are big and comfortable. Will stay again
Close to every thing
Bathroom smells bad.
This hotel is right off Shinjuku Station and Kabukicho, providing incredible comfort and convenience. The hotel staff is incredibly professional and very helpful, and the hotel is very nice. The hotel is a 5 min walk from Shinjuku Station (the west entrance is a little further) and hardly a minute's walk to Kabukicho. Our hotel room faced Hotel Gracery and the Godzilla head and we could see all the bustle on the street. This is an excellent hotel to stay at to be near the action without being completely trapped in the chaos. While I can't completely comment on the experiences of someone staying at Hotel Gracery, I can't help but think I would personally be overwhelmed and exhausted if everytime I had to leave or go to the hotel I would need to pass through the heart of Kabukicho. Shinjuku Prince never had this problem while being even more accessible than Hotel Gracery. Another highlight of our stay was the breakfast... wow. The breakfast here was the best we had throughout our entire trip, it's been two weeks since our trip and we still keep thinking about the bread pudding! The breakfast doesn't seem to get too busy either, but I would suggest still going early so you can experience having the entire space for yourself without too much commotion. This is an amazing hotel I would recommend to everyone and I would definitely stay here again.
not bad, but not great
good staff & food
Right in the thick of the Nightlife, food options and shopping galore. When you want to mix it up and head to Ginza or Shibuya, the Train Station is right below you! Would definitely recommend staying here.
I love the firmness of the bed and the wonderful pillows!! The staff has been very accommodating, and so helpful. Love that this place is in the heart of the city and close enough to the train station to get around!
Very convenient location, walking distance to Shinjuku station and countless restaurants. Staff are friendly, only thing is hotel is a little bit old, not as modern as many of the other hotels we stayed at in Japan. Overall a great experience still.
great location next to everything in shinjuku, rooms are tiny but thats pretty much the entire tokyo. Rooms are clean and staff is helpful. highly recommend if you want to be around busier side of tokyo.
