Hotel service is poor. First the machine cannot make key, than giving us the room hasn’t been clean. No one help us with luggages. Not good experience at all.

The chain lock in the room once lock is quite difficult to unlock. I used a handle of the spoon to open it.

It’s a nice hotel, just a bit older, and the repairs over the years haven’t been done properly (eg. the seams in the bathroom were done in grey, which doesn’t match the beige tiles). This is visible in the rooms and bathrooms: they’re totally fine, but show signs of wear and tear. The bathroom has water stains, the scale doesn’t work, etc.

I was impressed by Clara’s good service, she was very attentive to her guests. Thank you so much for her considerable service.

The hotel is under renovation but it looks like a quarantine hotel. Dark. No business center

it’s great they upgraded me to top floor in a renovated room and not disturbed by the construction. bed is comfortable, room is spacious n clean. lobby and public area are very old. don’t waste your money on breakfast buffet, i skipped even its inclusive in my booking. traffic is a nightmare, the road near hotel is always jammed, no matter 3pm in weekdays or 10am in the morning, it took me 20-25 mins by taxi for a distance of 1.6km. most disappointing is that i heard the reception offered 6 hours rent to a local when i check-out, unbelievable!

Perfect hotel with nice view

Perfect hotel, good location, very clean rooms. The only problem was that they were renovating the hotel and the noise was very hard. They did upgrade my room.

At the buffet breakfast we saw the staff pour the used milk for coffee from each table into the coffee machine which was pretty disgusting .Very unhygienic

Very comfortable, clean room with a kettle and coffee bodem. Close to a metro line. Good variety for breakfast. Swimming pool. Friendly helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Overall great stay

Hotel was very nice as indicated in the photos. The elevator was a problem because no guest knew how to use it and it required assistance. They tried to make the elevator too high tech and it only left gust mad because no one knows how to use it.

Comfy

A bit aged but a nice older style luxury hotel with a comfortable bed, which is not always easy to find in china. Location for me was brilliant, but I was working.

very good choice for a business trip

there is always maximum service from the staff and surprisingly for Chinese 5 star Western hotels restaurant staff speaks English or very quickly finds who does. very pleasant stay next to the hair dresser and shops. even supermarket is not far. always happy with Sheraton Nanjing !

Not really non-smoking

Room was reasonable but they don’t enforce no smoking policy. Person next door was smoking so my room really smelled and I had to leave. A couple of guys openly smoking in front of restaurant in 4th floor with staff nearby.

Old Sheraton

I stayed in many Sheraton, this one is the worst.

Spent a couple more days in Nanjing and went to the Sheraton. Close to the downtown core and it is a Sheraton after all. Staff were fantastic, young lady playing the piano in the lobby was excellent, grand staircase magnificent.

Staff took extra mile to make it a pleasant stay

Staff was very friendly and very helpful recommending places to visit and giving directions. Also, suggesting places to have my meals.

Dated hotel, staffs not well trained!

There was no queue for check in, and the staff not helped either. Really old hotel, just can be 3 star maximum.

Nice hotel but a bit far from Xinjieko.

The staff is great and friendly. However the rooms are a bit dated and the heating was blasting hot and unbearable. The thermostat wouldn't even let me change it to cooler setting. I could find similar prices and better room right near the 1912 area.

Good Hotel

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Staff were very friendly although most of them did speak much English. The rooms were clean and serviced everyday. I would stay at the hotel again.

Not your typical Sheraton property.

While this is a very nice property, it lacks many simple amenities. Danny's Irish Pub was never open on time. Sign says opens at 2 PM on Sundays, opened at 6. Cigar Bar was never open. No restaurants on property. At 3 PM on a Sunday, nothing in the entire hotel was open. That is not good management. The rooms are very nice, beds are good, but the showers are very weak and low. If you are over 6' tall you have to bend low to get wet. Smoking occurs on all floors, even in non-smoking rooms. No Smoking signs are posted but there is no enforcement. Long wait for a taxi. Nearest place to walk to dinner or drinks is, you guessed it, a different and better hotel.

nice hotel close to subway

the hotel room is spacious enough for 2 people. i'm in love with their bed, super comfortable! they have UK plug so i don't even need a adapter. i think it's really sweet that this hotel got two kinds of plug. the staff is very friendly and helpful. i can speak chinese so i can't comment to their ability to speak english.i heard they have a nice gym but i don't have time to go...i would definitely stay in this hotel again the next nanjing trip. the only thing i'm not satiesfied is the bathroom water. the water flow is too small, they really need to improve it.

Good hotel, skip the breakfast

This is a nice hotel well located in Nanjing. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the bed very comfortable (especially when compared to typical Asian beds!). Only negative was the breakfast (not included) was very expensive, especially in comparison to the room cost.

Sheraton is a great hotel

It was overall great, but the hotel itself is very old. Again the location is the main feature plus the elevator who can give you a great view of Nanjing city. Carpets and some stuff of the hotel have to be changed, for sure.

Great hotel, good location

The hotel is about 2 blocks from the Shanghai Lu subway station. Hotel interior is nice, internet worked well, and room was comfortable and clean. There's also a nice Irish pub on the 4th floor with good food.

A bit tired

The hotel was probably fresh and hip when it opened 15-20 years ago, but they haven't made any efforts since to keep it relevant. It feels stuffy when you walk in and the elevators have this old system where you type in your floor number after which you are pointed to the right elevator. The room, although a non-smoking room, stank like cigarette smoke, quite off-putting. The service was good enough though, so was the food which came with a generous discount for hotel guests.

Hotel was undergoing rennovation during my stay which was quite noisy.However, the rest of the stay was great.

Couldn't relax at the restaurant and pool because it is like a public playground by many children.

We had a nice romantic getaway

We had a really nice time. The staff was very helpful and the room was great. Location wise it is just away from the centre, which in the summer heat can be a bit annoying. However Metro stations are pretty close by. Pool was only a lap pool and needed a relaxing area. Also felt a bit dirty. Besides that everything was really great. Remember to visit Danny's Irish Bar for a good laugh.

The hotel staff was kindly to help everything and the room is big and clean...and the location is ok for single ..not suggest for family.

This is 2012, most all hotels worldwide have free internet access. The location was not good for my purpose.

Other reviews of hotels in Nanjing painted a rather poor picture but generally the Sheraton came out not too bad, so I tried an Exec floor deal on Hotels.com which was exceptionally discounted, and now I see why. Very poor staff training was at the root of most problems in the exec lounge - the staff seemed largely concerned about counting out the flower vases and laying out 25 place settings for breakfast when we only ever saw three people in the lounge, two of them being us. There was never anyone there to actually find the real thing you need, such luxuries as a glass or a spoon (we did eventually locate the cupboard where they hid these). Not a great experience.
