Absolutely perfect

Mistake with date/reservation

Somehow the date on my reservation changed when I clicked the back button to check something out about the room. Therefore the reservation was for a day earlier than I was making it for and we weren’t aware of this until 9pm when the inn contacted us to ask why we hadn’t checked in. We called thein. And hotels.com for help but no one was able to move the reservation to the next night (when we were planning to go stay) even though there are empty rooms. It’s extremely disappointing and we will never use hotels.com again.

Lovely - views, location, rooms, staff. Great!

The property is beautiful and the ocean view is incredible. It’s a short drive to Carmel (walkable really) and Cannery Row in Monterey. Only issue I was finding the doors unlocked in my room many hours after housekeeping was done.

The beautiful decorative windows, doors, furnishings and period architectural touches throughout add to the unique charm of this property. And the views are unmatched to any other location that I have stayed. We booked the Breakers room and had a 180 degree view of the ocean. Opened the windows and enjoyed the sea air and sounds of crashing waves at night from the comfort of my room. Amazing! Will definitely return.

All i can say our stay at this place exceeded our expectations. Wonderful and friendly staff at front desk and at breakfast. We were greeted at front desk by amazing person name Janette and was offered champagne at check in also location right across the lover point beach and walking distance to restaurants. So i would stay here again in future .

I liked the victorian aesthetic, cleanliness and location. Great scenery and excellent customer service from Janette at the front desk. Breakfast dining staff was excellent as well.

Beautiful property with close access to the coastal trail adjacent to the Monterey Bay!

It’s a beautiful B&B looking out over Monterey Bay. We had the Ocean Mist room and had a wonderful view of the November full moon. Gorgeous!! Breakfast was also very good!

There was no fireplace in the room, though it was listed in the room amenities. This was super disappointing as I paid more for a room that listed a fireplace.

The beds are fantastic. Nice breakfast. Easy walk to Lover’s Point and shop.

Everything was flawless. Staffs were make us feel so relaxed, welcomed and inviting. Everything was attended to, room very comfortable and the place is well maintained. I could stare at the ocean view all day long and wake up to it. The place has been a dream to look at from outside and a fantasy to stay for decades. We decided to go for a weekend getaway on a whim and I’m glad it worked out beautifully for us. Thank you

Gorgeous and immaculate place in Pacific grove.

We reserved the sea view room and wow what a fantastic view that was. We could stay in front of the window watching the sea to spot sea lions all day! The grounds of this property are majestic and immaculate. The service is also impeccable. We truly loved the staff, especially the Mexican lady (sorry we forgot your name). She went above and beyond to give us advice on things to visit nearby and to welcome us. The wine hour was great espacially in the beautiful main area. The breakfast also exceeded our expectations. Everything was always replenished and the staff was so helpful and kind. We would totally recommend this beautiful and warm place.

Property is wonderful if you get the right room. The other rooms appear just as nice but only some have a great view of the ocean. Breakfast was good, fresh and satisfying. May not meet some peoples expectations, but for us it was great. Only down side, internet was spotty in the room we stayed in.

This property is in an amazing location with amazing views. The staff is wonderful and we really appreciated the afternoon wine and cheese and evening pastries. The breakfast offered wasn't held in as high a standard as everything else in my opinion. Also, we were not specific in our room choice and we were very let down that we received a very small room with very little view. This surprised us because if you view the pictures online, I didn't think there was a bad room. We stayed 3 days and had booked very early on, so I had hoped they would have given us a better place room and left the smaller room for the one night stay guests.

Room was very comfortable, and the view was great. Housekeeping did not empty our trash, which was overflowing, or replenish coffee and cups

The building is old, but in impeccable condition. Breakfast was excellent, and as varied as one would want. The views are beautiful, especially during happy hour. The staff were outstanding across the board. We will be back!

Beautiful and relaxing stay

This adorable B&B has beautiful views of the ocean. It offers excellent breakfast, a wine happy hour, and a cookie happy hour nightly. The lobby has a scrapbook of the history of the home.

Just a lovely property with an incredible view. The bed was perfect but our sheets were divine. Completely forgot to check the brand before leaving, they were luxurious. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Seven Gables

I am handicapped…stairs are my enemy. Next time I prefer to have a room with way less stairs. Also, breakfasts were cold even though some items should have been at least warm. I found myself craving a warm egg McMuffin.

AMAZING view, very comfortable bed and location is stellar.

We arrived at midnight and there is no body here in the property totally different from what we expected and what we see in the Instagram. I'm traveling alot and i don't remember the i was so disappointed

It was a very nice and homie environment, with great views. I did not like the fact that there was no AC in the unit. The breakfast was honestly not what we were looking for, I was expecting more. Should have been more egg options & protein options.

Historic buildings furnished with lovely antiques. Quiet except for soothing wave action on the beach across the street. And a glass of champagne when we checked in. Wonderful!

This B&B is perfect for getting away from the madness of life to a place of solitude and history. The staff was amazing and the rooms have a historical charm to them. If you can, I would highly recommend booking one of the ocean rooms!

It was a B and B. But property sold about 2 years ago. All antques are gone And that is why I booked for an antque property. Not worth the money now. Breakfast excellent! Wallpaper in bedroom great. NO TV, refrigerator or microwave... The dark ages!!!

Best View Ever

The view cannot get any better. The bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean. It is a beautiful place to stay. I’m glad they kept it true to the time period as well.

Great place to stay, staff was friendly. Breakfast buffet was pretty good too. Little bit on the expensive side, I guess we need to pay this price if we want to stay so close to beach in California.

Amazing Stay

Check in was great and front desk staff took us to our room. The room overlooked the ocean. It was a high ceiling with antique-looking fixtures and furniture. We would definitely come again.

Very nice hotel with great ocean views but we were unfortunately there on the day it had Christmas lights installed and was crawling with workmen

The Inn was amazing. The grounds, the rooms, and the service were impeccable.

This was our first experience with a bed and breakfast and we really enjoyed it. Beautiful property in a great location. My husband and I will definitely be back. Comfortable beds. We stayed in the Chataqua and would stay in another room if given a choice due to the rooms small size. Overall great experience.

An Absolute Recommendation!

The beauty of this old Victorian home turned hotel-speaks beauty alone. Couple it with the stunning Pacific visible right outside the windows and it's clearly one of God's blessings. The bed was more comfortable than ones in SF or NY name hotels I've been to. The in-room fireplace was a superb plus. The staff all seem to truly love their jobs and that makes for a warm and welcoming visit. I absolutely recommend and will be back myself, with my kid, with my man, with me, myself, and I. :)

This is my third visit. My husband and I spent our honeymoon and our first anniversary at this property. He is no longer with me, but I love the property and the rooms. The location is perfect

Info on local activities & specifically restaurants could have been better. Other than that brilliant hotel with great breakfast and fantastic views.

Everything was great at the property. Beautiful virw. Close to restaurants. My only issue was the bathroom was small.

The staff was great, breakfast was excellent, but the property is mediocre. I get the rooms are supposed to have a Victorian charm but they are outdated and have no AC. There aren’t even screens on the windows to keep bugs out. Also for the price, I would expect some kind of daily room attendance…turn down, freshen towels, anything.

Not happy with the accommodations! The room is a handicapped room, very small, and that is not what I booked. I booked a premium room for our 29th Anniversary! The bathroom smells like urine and tiles are missing on the bottom decor. I checked in after 8 pm and at 8:20 I asked to be moved and Raquelle said that there was nothing that she could for for us. That she was leaving soon…not a very welcoming stay. She did not even tell me about the off street parking or any other amenities to make our stay more enjoyable. I will think twice about booking with Expedia again. There was no help and the hotel did not care. Please respond on how you will be making this stay better or crediting my account for the inconvenience on our 29th Anniversary.

Beautiful building and grounds.

Great place for walking to downtown and restaurants. That was my favorite part. I loved having the trail that lined the coastline across the street. Room is old and needs updating. Tv issues and small rooms. No maid service. My room had water view from afar as they all do since the hotel is across from the water, but it was ground floor where everyone walked by the entry and exit. Didn’t like the carriage room and it was one of the more expensive ones. Breakfast is small but adequate. Not sure if I’d stay there again for the price but the area is great

no sea view even we paid for sea view. hotel agent said it is not their mistake. the room has no sea view.

Love the location. The only complaint we have is that there was no tv in the room!

Gem in Pacific Grove!

What a fantastic place! Recommend the Cypress room as it's view is stunning. Staff were so accommodating and kind. Definitely will stay there again!

Excellent and beautiful place. Staff is extremely helpful. There are binoculars loaned so you can watch the whales. Staff found out that it was our anniversary and had a bottle of wine in the room. The room is small but beautiful. Would definitely book again.

Superb experience!

We had an amazing night at the Seven Gables! The property is all that we imagined it would be. Our room was lovely and had an amazing view of the water. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. We can’t wait to visit again in the future!

This place is a jewel. It is located in a beautiful area with fabulous views. The cottage we were in was lovely and very spacious. The breakfast room is lovely and a perfect way to start your day. Every staff member we met was happy and helpful.

Comfy and cozy

Our stay with short due to a delayed flight but we had an excellent experience with everyone and with our room. Would definitely return!

Bad experience

Very sad to say this but the front desk person needs to be a bit friendlier or at least fake being welcoming since that's the first person you see. Definitely not staying here for many different reasons.

Great service and views

Beautiful inn right on the water - we had a ocean view. They provide a lovely breakfast as well - though served buffet style (there sister hotel prepared it for you when seated). Just outside of Monterrey. I actually prefer this location to staying there. Only a 3 minute drive to Monterrey for dinner. Would definitely stay again.
